Xie Lian gets a husband and suddenly he becomes the relationship expert, which mostly consists of him making sweet & cunty comments to MQ and giving him tips which MQ DOES NOT NEED OR WANT THANK U UR HIGHNESS but XL just doesn't GET IT and it culminates in XL roping people into setting FXMQ up, meanwhile FX is completely unaware of all of this happening,he just knows HC won't stop making fun of his crush on MQ which is weird cause how tf does he know he hid it so well,a mess

love this for them tbh i feel like xie lian would definitely toe the line between like "i genuinely want to help my friends out!!" and the only half unintentional bragging like "oh within the first few minutes of meeting san lang i knew he would be important to me and we never fight ever let me share my top ten keys to a harmonious marriage" and mq is like was it worth? i know i wanted to be friends but is this really want i want? (but also like the complicated feelings about xl being the one whos trying to help him out AGAIN but also that IS what friends do and hes just like get me out of here)

also im desperate to further the feng xin and hua cheng being friends agenda i just think feng xin should keep collecting gay guys who were virgins for 800 years i think thats really funny also if we get down into details they kind of have the least to fight about like if hua cheng could take a step back i think he would have to admit that feng xin really did the least wrong during book 4 like mu qing's choices were complicated but feng xin literally got sent away. obviously all three of them care about xie lian a lot and fx and hc have always had the least complicated feelings about him so i think they have a good starting place also they can be united in their quest to save xie lian from himself (i know mq also cares but he is also the one who was going to let xl eat the dirty bun off the floor while fx was the one who actually stopped him) anyway i have a vision in my head of the quartet eating together at puqi shrine and xl watching the way fx is laughing more than usual at anything even remotely funny that mq says and so when theyre done eating he sends fx and hc to wash dishes together so he can pester mq who is just like 🙄🙈😭 about it all and when xl brings up the shared obstacle of their cultivation method mq is like THATS IT and goes to drag fx out but he's busy engaged in a dish washing contest with hc over who can get the most unidentifiable sludge out of xie lian's favorite cooking pot
