this is not directly related to prev but just thoughts bouncing around in my head a lot lately but i feel like especially when it comes to LGBT conversations we so directly conflate 'experience' with 'privilege' that its become very difficult to point out when someone's opinion is flawed by virtue of missing some of the former without implying they hold the latter

#like the bi woman with a bf thing #asking you to be self aware about the fact that you have not experienced certain tangible things #is not a claim about what kind of privilege you have #with every closeted discourse its like #yeah often being closeted is on an individual level just a far more miserable experience than being out #you basically get all the bad experiences but none of the good #however these people get online and (understandably) want to vent and like #need to be a little self aware that due to their experiences their perception is very skewed #thats been a huge part of the transmisandry movement tbqh #people who have actually not experienced being read as a man irl making hot takes
