Wow...this is very late. 🤡 I feel awful for posting this much later than I intended at first. This past month has been packed with a lot of family events and such, I haven’t had the time to focus on these pieces. In a way, I guess it’s good I’m posting once the BigBang event has been finished, so I’m not taking any attention away from all the talented creators who participated in it.

The BigBang event was incredibly fun to take part in, and I’m so glad I mustered up the courage to sign up. I made a lot of friends and got to know amazing creators in the fandom.

One of which is my partner, Nao! @assclass-conspiracies put so much hard work and love into this fic. And I had a great time thinking of ideas with and helping her create this wonderful AU. I’m so glad we became friends thanks to the event!! 💚

All of the extra pieces are going to be under the cut because there are a lot lmao. Common themes you will notice are fire/heat (of course haha) and the biggest one: colors. We made a whole color theory while brainstorming lmao, and colors are just very much tied into the art, with the emotions and experiences they can represent.

I painted with actual watercolors for two pieces (one of which was on the official post) And for the digital pieces, they were made on IbisPaint.

Piece #1

This was actually a candidate to be on the official BigBang post lmao. I used actual watercolor paint for both of them. I wanted to use a single palette for both of them, Kayano in greens, Itona in blues. And their golden eyes tie them together. The positioning of them was inspired by a Tokyo Ghoul cover book.

I just really love this scene and quote lmao. Once again, I chose limited palettes for them UwU.

Piece #3

A very precious scene in the fic where Kayano gifts Itona something from the field trip, he refuses it, she gets offended, then he takes it back because he secretly does like it. I just love their dynamic a lot.

Piece #4

Here’s vicious Kayano, aka my favorite thing in AssClass ever. I love the heavy, righteous fury she has during her reveal and I wanted to replicate that same coldness in this piece. Temperature and color matter a lot in this piece. Kayano is on fire right now, literally and metaphorically lmao. She’s angry and grieving, but alive. The Akari persona is like her being reborn, a different person from Kayano. And behind her, we have Aguri, in a light blue palette. Aguri is blue because she’s dead and cold, gone...the opposite of her sister. The Yukimura sisters make me so sad.

He was supposed to look a bit more...crazed. But yeah, Itona during his darkest moments. A parallel to the Kayano piece UwU.
