permanent geranium lake! now you've got me thinking about art so im sending the same question back

permanent geranium lake: are they artistic? if so, how would they describe their art?

My headcanon (about my own guy) is that music is Sam's 'for want of a nail' skill -- he could've been musically inclined but he simply never received the training or encouragement he needed to focus on it or believe he could do it. As it is, he just enjoys singing, and he has an ear for a tune and a surprisingly nice voice that only comes out for church and sea shanties. He can't read music and doesn't consider himself musically gifted.

When he first came to the Neath, he went straight to Watchmaker Hill because it sounded like work he knew he could do, but his goal once he got his feet under him was to make it to Veilgarden and try to get work as a writer, maybe even a chance to dabble in music. Unfortunately, the stupid social games of the Court were hellish for his autistic straightforwardness and he gave up on all of it. He still works on poetry and novels sometimes, and favours melancholy romance. He would describe this as "dabbling" as well.

Canonically he has taken drawing lessons, but I don't think he's good.
