I have this on my mind for a while...

I don't think that Gwen is outsider in Miles' family cuz she's white but seeing Rio being nicer to her than Jefferson was is giving me my favourite trope where a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law both married in a family that's different than theirs and so the mother-in-law is the one who treats the daughter-in-law the best because she knows that it's hard to adapt. Rio is latina who married in a black family and it must've been difficult to keep her customs while accepting new ones.

She was quick to assume that Gwen doesn't know Spanish cuz it's important to her that Miles knows her language (again, trying to have your kid not forget your side of the family) but she wanted Miles to be with Gwen cuz it made him happy. I have a feeling that if Miles and Gwen's relationship lasts Rio will accept her best because she relates to her and doesn't want any of her son's girlfriends to feel unwelcome.

And this was a good way to show how generations see things differently cuz Miles and Gwen are oblivious to that, but his parents are not, cuz times have changed and our parents are still stuck back in the days and you can't blame them for it. I know they didn't like Gwen cuz she seemed shady but I can't ignore Rio's comment cuz it points out that there was another thing they had problem with but Rio was also the one who started warming up to her faster.

Alice, tapping her shoulder: What about Teen?

Jen, glaring more: I’ve got to bail him out too? Where’s Agatha?

Teen: No one called her. We used Lilia’s phone call to call Alice and Rio’s to call you. Then Rio used my phone call to vote for American Idol.

Rio: :)

Jen: Rio isn’t answering her phone.

Agatha: Here, I’ll try.

Jen: Alice and I have tried six times each, what makes you think that-

Rio, picking up on the first ring: Hey, sweetheart.

Agatha: The ends always justify the means!

Jen: Do you know who said that?

Agatha: Was it Oprah or someone nice and great like that?

Jen: It was Machiavelli. A decidedly non-Oprah like person.

Jen: I bet you didn’t even finish the thing I asked you to get done!

Jen: No, I mean you’re aging-ballerina, child-chess-prodigy, professional magician kind of crazy.

Teen: It’s my mom’s fault. You know, we come from a Jewish family, but she used to tell me the reason Santa didn’t come was because my room was too dirty.

Rio: I’ve come looking for trouble. And if I can’t find trouble, I WILL create some.

Alice: Do you trust me?

Lilia, smiling proudly at her: Yes.

Alice, who has been completely panicking: Wait, what? Why?!

Agatha, awkwardly glancing around for help: Er…Alice, I’m gonna be honest, I don’t know what to say to people who are crying. So I’m just gonna hope that the tone of my voice makes you think I do, okay, sweetie?

Alice, sniffling: …thanks, Agatha.

Agatha, patting her on the back with a bit too much enthusiasm: No problem, kid.

Lilia: I told Agatha about it weeks ago!

Teen: She WHAT?

Agatha: What??? Lilia says insane shit all the time, how was I supposed to know this one was true?!

Lilia: Bank accounts are a sham created by the shadow government!

Agatha: SEE?!

Okay I may sound insane but could I request a one shot or short story whatever you are more comfortable writing. The premises behind the story is the reader is an apothecary witch from Agatha’s past. Agatha has asked her to join them in walking the road as well as the others. She reluctantly agreed but not without attitude. The problem with going on this journey at least for the reader is that she’s not just a scorn witch from Agatha‘s past, but one that she would have considered a friend along time ago. Agatha would always come to her in order to be healed or for a remedy due to whatever difficult situation she got herself into overtime. They grew closer together, but Agatha made it apparent that she wasn’t capable of the type of relationship the reader was wanting from her. Not to the readers knowledge, but because of everything that had happened between her and Rio.

How the story starts is that they are currently on the road after completing the second trial in the studio and healing teen from his injury . At the campfire while all the different witches are trading their battle stories you listen to Agatha speak and then Rio. Somewhat connecting the dots on your own, but not fully believing it, not until you follow them both and watch the scene that unfolds between them in the fourth episode. It’s then that the reader realizes that maybe Agatha was always capable of feeling that type of emotional vulnerability but the reader just wasn’t worth it. How it ends is really up to you. It could be somehow Agatha figured out that the reader was spying on them and then fixes it in a sweet way to show that the reader is worth it. or it could be Agatha completely denying any change between her and Rio that she was only using manipulation tactics to see if teen was her son, a mix of both. I’m not picky.

Once again, if this is too insane, please ignore it. I do understand it’s completely random, but I do love your writing style and do you think you would do it absolute justice!!!!

A/n: I hope you like this anon! I know you lowkey wanted a happy ending but angst took over. I’m open to making a part two if you’d like! Also this originally had nothing to do with the song “The Greatest” but then I added a part of the lyrics so…

“Jen! Y/n! Do something please!” Agatha pleaded, holding Teen’s hand tightly. You and Jennifer looked at each other, trying to figure out something that would heal his wound and help him survive. You both quickly made a substance and spread it over his wound. He groaned in pain but the wound healed and he continued to sleep. You all gently picked him up and placed him in a better place to rest. Agatha stayed by his side, refusing to leave and the rest of you went to make a bonfire.

You sat down around the fire for an awkward moment before Alice chose to speak up to start a conversation. She shared her experience with her curse and her scars and soon everyone told their experiences except Rio. You didn’t like her from the second she dug herself out of the ground. You could tell there was immense tension between her and Agatha and you detested it.

“How is he?” Alice’s voice brought you back to reality. You looked up and saw Agatha taking a seat next to Rio.

“Mouthy,” she replied sarcastically.

“That’s a good sign,” Lilia commented.

“Agatha,” Jen started, “Why don’t you show us your battle scars?” Agatha hesitated for a moment before she started rolling up the sleeve of her left arm. Your eyes diverted to Rio who chuckled while she gave Agatha a knowing look.

“Knitting needle to the elbow,” she said, showing off the scar on her elbow, “You ever heard of the daughters of liberty?” of course you knew of them, you were the one that healed said scar but the rest shook their heads having no idea, “Exactly.” All the witches chuckled her light joke and you could tell Agatha enjoyed it. The joyful moment suddenly came to a stop when Rio decided to speak up.

“I’ve got a scar.” All eyes turned to Rio as she spoke. Agatha’s expression changed, her face becoming serious and a bit irritated.

“No you don’t,” Agatha was quick to deny. How would she know that? You thought.

“Yes I do,” she insisted, “…A long time ago, I loved someone,” she side eyed Agatha, “…and I had to do something I did not want to do even though it was my job,” she emphasized the last word and you saw Agatha looked away from the corner of your eye. She clenched her jaw, her eyes fixed elsewhere. The other witches exchanged glances, sensing the tension between the two. Rio continued to speak.

“And it hurt them,” there was a pause, “…she’s my scar.” It wasn’t hard to figure out who she was talking about and it angered you even further. Why did Agatha lie to you? Were they still together when you fell in love? Were you just not enough?

“I’m gonna go stretch my legs,” Agatha said standing and walking away, Rio hot on her trail. Curiosity got the better of you and decided to follow them, the worst decision you could have made.

You watched their interaction, the hug, the loving look, and before their lips touched you walked away. You had seen enough. You fought with every bone in your body trying to keep your sobs at bay. You felt so betrayed but you shouldn’t. Agatha had made it crystal clear that she couldn’t pursue a commitment relationship with you like you wanted. That she wouldn’t. It hurt to hear but maybe it was for the best, especially if she was still messing around with Rio.

You made your way back to the campfire, trying to hide the tears in your eyes. The others looked at you, noticing the change in your demeanor.

“Are you alright?” Lilia asked, her voice filled with concern.

“I’m f-fine,” your voice cracked a bit, “That last trial just had me a little shaken, that’s all.” Alice frowned and shifted closer to you, rubbing your back soothingly.

“Are you sure?” she asked.

“Mhm…” You gave her a reassuring smile before sitting back down by the fire. Alice didn’t seem convinced but didn’t press further. The others exchanged glances, clearly worried about you but they didn’t say anything. Soon Agatha came back taking a seat next to you with no trace of Rio but you remained silent. Agatha looked at you, noticing your lack of response. She was oblivious to the facts that you had seen her with Rio.

“Are you alright, sweetheart?” You didn’t reply and her eyebrows furrowed in confusion and concern. She gently placed her hand on your shoulder, trying to get your attention.

“Hey, what’s wrong?”

“Nothing,” you shrugged her hand off. She was taken aback by your cold response. She was used to you being more open and warm, not this.

“Bullshit,” she said firmly, crossing her arms.

“It’s not like you would fucking care,” you spat out, getting up and walking away. She wanted to go after you but Rio appeared and held her back.

“Let her cool off. I’m sure it’s nothing.” She said into Agatha’s ear.

“Yeah…maybe you’re right.”

After everyone was rested, you all continued to walk the road onto the next trial. Usually you would have stayed by Agatha's side but you chose to stay with Lilia and Alice this time. You thought Agatha hadn't noticed, too deep in a conversation with Rio but she did and she was not happy at all.

Agatha’s eyes narrowed as she watched you walk with Lilia and Alice. She tried to keep her cool, but the sight of you ignoring her and choosing to stay away from her made her feel frustrated and angry. She couldn’t understand why you were acting this way and why you were avoiding her. Her fist balled up tightly when she saw you laughing with Alice. Rio noticed Agatha’s reaction and placed a hand on her shoulder.

“Calm down, sweetheart. You’re going to give yourself wrinkles.”

“I just don’t understand what happened!” Agatha said, frustrated. Rio rolled her eyes before cupping Agatha’s face, making her look at her.

“Don’t worry about her. She’s probably just throwing a tantrum.” Agatha’s face was filled with irritation as she listened to Rio’s words.

“Tantrum? She’s never like this! I’ve never seen her this upset before, she’s avoiding me, she’s acting like a brat.”

“Relax, Agatha,” she kissed her cheek, “Just focus on me.” Her irritation slowly melted away as Rio kissed her cheek. She looked at her and took a deep breath, trying to push her worries about you to the back of her mind.

“You’re right,” she said, forcing a smile. She needed to keep Rio happy for now, just until they got to the end of the road.

Your eyes had wandered to the two women at some point and you regretted it immediately, seeing Rio kiss Agatha’s cheek. Rio looked in your direction while doing it with a smirk on her face. You wanted to lounge at her but for what? For Agatha? She didn’t want you anyway, you just had to come to peace with that.

Rio caught your eye and noticed the hurt and jealousy in your expression. She couldn’t help but feel a sense of satisfaction. She knew she was getting to you, and that only made her more determined to keep Agatha away from you.

You all eventually found the next trial inside another house. You all split up into pairs to find some sort of clue. Alice and Teen, Jen and Lilia and of course, Agatha and Rio. Lilia offered to go with you but you declined and said you could take care of yourself if something happened.

She had looked at you with concern but respected your decision. She nodded and went off with Jen to search the house. You were left alone, walking through the house and looking for clues. You could hear the others calling out to each other as they searched different rooms. Suddenly, you heard footsteps approaching you and you already knew who it was.

“Agatha, shouldn’t you be with Rio?” She appeared from behind you, her expression serious.

“Why are you avoiding me?”

“You seemed busy with Rio, that’s all.”

“You saw that…” she said, realizing what you were referring to.

“Yeah. You know, I thought you said you couldn’t pursue the type of relationship I wanted from you. Now I know you simply wouldn’t do it, with me at least. Why don’t you go back to your precious green witch. I’m sure she’s already missing you.” Agatha’s expression softened and she looked hurt by your words.

“It’s not like that…”

“Please,” you laughed, shaking your head, “Save it. I literally saw you two about to kiss.”

“You don’t understand…” she stepped closer.

“Agatha, what is there to understand? You lied to me. You said your heart was jaded and then I find out you have an ex lover who you seem to still be in love with.”

“Don’t act like you know everything. You don’t understand the situation between Rio and me.” Her eyes flashed with irritation.

“Then lay it out for me Harkness!” She clenched her jaw, her hands balling into fists. She took a deep breath before speaking.

“Rio and I…we have a complicated history. We were together a long time ago, and it didn’t end well. We had a falling out and we haven’t spoken in years. Seeing her again has brought up a lot of old feelings and emotions that I didn’t know how to deal with.”

“…do you love her?”

“No, of course not-” she said without hesitation.

“Then what’s the deal? Does she know that? Because she seems to know the effect you two have on me.”

“My sweet Y/n,” she cupped your face, “I just need her and the rest of the witches to get me to the end and then you and I can be together-”

“It’s not that simple Agatha,” you shoved her off, finally letting the tears fall, “I don’t even know if I can trust you. And what of her, huh? You’re just gonna leave her hanging? How do I know you won’t do the same with me? How do I know you’re not just using me?!”

“I’m not using you! I care about you, Y/n. You have to believe me.” She reached out to touch you but stopped herself.

“How can I?! You have a reputation, Agatha!” Her face fell, hurt by your words.

“You don’t trust me because of my reputation? I thought you knew me better than that…”

“So did I...” your voice broke at the end. She was speechless. She knew you were right. She had hurt you, and now you didn’t trust her. The realization hit her like a ton of bricks.*

“I…I don’t know what to say…”

“Then don’t say anything,” you tried to walk past her but she quickly grabbed your arm, stopping you from walking away.

“Please, don’t go. We need to talk about this.”

“What is there to talk about? You’ve made your choice and it clearly isn’t me.”

“That’s not true! I do care about you. I just…I don’t know what to do. Seeing Rio again has brought up all these memories and feelings that I thought I buried a long time ago. I don’t know how to handle it all.”

“Then come back once you’ve figured it out,” you roughly freed yourself from her grip and walked away to find Lilia and Jen. You didn’t want to walk away. You wanted to cling to her but you couldn’t get yourself into a situation where you would eventually get hurt…again.

Agatha watched you walk away, her heart breaking. She wanted to call out to you, to beg you to stay, but she knew she had messed up. She felt a mix of guilt and regret, knowing that she had hurt you deeply. She sank to the ground, her head in her hands. She replayed the argument over and over in her head, regretting every word she said. She wanted to make things right with you, but she knew it wouldn’t be easy. As much as she cared about you, she couldn’t deny the history she had with Rio. She was at a crossroads, torn between two people who both meant something to her.

Coming back to the old house

The Babysitter Serie: Pt I

Pairings: Agatha Harkness x Rio Vidal x F!Maximoff!Reader, Wanda Maximoff x Vision

Summary: When you broke up with your girlfriend you decided to come back to places you know by your heart.

A/n: Nothing really happen here cuz i didn't had idea what i can add more but everything need to start somewhere.

Your girlfriend, well, now ex-girlfriend, cheated on you. You caught her red handed when you came back earlier from a job interview, than you told her. After packing all your things you left her apartment and pulled out your phone searching for your mothers number. She didn’t answer. You called three, maybe four times but all your calls got rejected. You decided to call your father, he was never answering your calls so it wasn’t surprising he did not answer now. When leaving the calls app, you saw that one number. Before you knew you were calling her. Two signals were enough. 

“Sweetheart?” Hearing this voice makes you let out sobs. 

“Hi, uhm, can..go to my home and tell my mother to call me back?” Tears falling down your face. All you needed now was a hug from your mother. 

“Shh, sweetie, chill out. I am going to Wanda, and you need to take deep breaths.” When she was saying it, you could hear sounds of leaving the house. “ Oh.. I think there's no one home.” More sobs leaving your mouth.

“Shit.. I- Thank you ms. Vidal.” You said wanting to hang up.

“I told you to just call me by mine name.” 

After a few seconds of silence she started talking again.

“You can tell me what happened. Only if you want.” And you told her.Full story with breaks to take deep breaths. She didn't need to be around for you to feel more comfortable and safe than you were a few minutes ago. “Mhmm,  I'm gonna get Agatha and Nicholas and we will come for you.”

“You don't need-”

“Y/n.” 

“Okay… Thank you..”

“No problem sweetheart.”

Rio Vidal and Agatha Harkness, family house neighbors. They bought a place next to your family when you were sixteen. At that time you saw them a few times. Your first thought was how pretty and hot they are. Not even a year later they had their new house ready to move in. That was the first time you saw their little son, Nicholas Scratch. It was weird for you, why does Nico have a different last name, but soon later you learned that they couldn't decide which last name he should have or which one should come first. They decided to name him Scratch after their rabbit, Señor Scratchy

For the first few weeks you didn't really talk, but when your parents, Wanda Maximoff and Jarvis “Vision” Stark, invited them for dinner, you started forming some kind of friendship. Your mother didn't really like them, but you saw them as pretty cool people. Soon after you learned they are witches as your mother and younger brother. Well, you kind of were a witch too but you weren’t as good as your mother or Billy. That was also the main reason Wanda never really helped you with your powers. 

As you were in high school you started spending more time in your neighbor's house than in your own. All your parents cared for were Billy and Tommy. Your younger sibling. You were often ignored, not talking about how many times they missed something important even though you asked them to attend. But Agath or Rio were always there. When you told them for the first time how Wanda missed one of your school plays, they promised either of them would be there for you. You started bonding with Nicholas too by going out on the walks with him and playing many games. 

At some point Agatha was the one to teach you how to use your, not so strong, magic. Her touches on your skin never failed to make you shiver, and the looks Rio was always giving you made your heart always stutter. 

When  you were leaving for college, you realized you felt more for them than you should. Going to another city allowed you to forget about those forbidden feelings, you even met your ex that you fell for. You promised them you would write to them but you never did. It was easier to avoid those feelings they were making you feel. Calling either of them was so embarrassing to you. You ghosted all their texts and now you called them on a random day. 

After 2 years of college you decided to abandon it and go to work, well, it was your ex's idea but you never could find any job. You and Kate met at college. She was older, and also first to talk to you and confess. She wanted you to move in with her so you did. Not even 3 months later she started saying how useless you are if you can’t even find a job. Now you know why she never wanted you home. 

“You really didn't need to come here. I Could have taken the train with my spare money.” You said after Agatha and Rio hugged you. 

You sat in the back seat, next to Nico. He only took your hand and hugged it then fell asleep again. 

“You called for a reason.” Rio said first. 

“Besides I don't think you would be able to go on the train judging how you look.” Said Agatha, concentrating on the road. 

“Agatha.” Rio slapped her arm. “We care about you sweetheart, we are friends right?

You only nodded looking out of the window. 

After a long ride and not so long talks you arrived at your small city. Nicholas sleeping on your knees. He crawled on them somewhere in the middle of the ride. You took your things and after thanking Agatha and Rio for the hundred times, you walked to the doors of your own house. You grabbed the door handle.Closed. So you knocked. And knocked. And your father opened doors. We had a fancy suit on him, his blue eyes piercing through you.

“You don't need to pretend to be human, it's just me dad.” You said with a joking tone but with a serious face.

“What are you doing here?” That was the first word he said to you.

“You won’t even let your own daughter in?”

“Sorry, yeah, come in Y/n.” He moved aside so you could walk in. Even took your bag. “Me and your mother just came back from the Tonys party. 

“That's why you couldn't even pick up the phone.” You said sarcastically and wanted to roll your eyes, but your mother walked to the room at the same time

“Baby, what are you doing here?” She looked more surprised than Vision.

At first you stayed silent and hugged your mother. After a few seconds you started talking, but you couldn't tell them everything. You didn't tell them most of the story, as much as you needed them ,  needed your mother arm around you, you don't feel that emotionally close to them to tell all things that happened. So you shortened it to how Kate cheated on you and that you don't have a place to stay now. 

It was always like that. You spend most of your childhood and teenhood in your room or your neighbors house because your own parents were often forgetting about you, patronizing your younger brothers. 

“Ohh baby, I’m sorry. I'm gonna prepare a guest room for you… Your room is now Williams room.” Wanda petted your head leaving you with your father. 

“Y/n!” You heard Tommy's voice and soon after two bodies were hugging you. 

After spending time with your brothers, not like you had any choice. They decided you will sit with them and talk, and maybe play on playstation. By playing together they meant you would sit and watch them play. Last time you saw Billy and Tommy was more than a year ago. You had a big argument with Wanda and Vision back then. You invited them to dinner with your ex-girlfriend. You can’t even remember why you started to argue, for sure it was something stupid like always. But this time you stopped talking. Few times you wanted to send a message to your mother, but Kate was always faster to say about how badly they treated you and you don't need them. 

After Wanda made boys go to wash and sleep, you could finally have some alone time. You didn't think you would ever again sleep under your parents roof, but here you are. You were quietly listening to music, soft sounds always were helping you to fall asleep,but soon music stopped when you started getting notifications. Reading the first of them made your heart stop for a while.

Rio: Hi sweetheart :D

Rio: We hope we can back in touch, we missed you

Agatha: Nicholas missed you

Rio: We and Nico missed you

You're in luck, love bug! I cooked something up for them just the other day. The idea came to me, and I just had to get it out😆. I had planned to post it the other day, but I just didn't have the energy.

When I tell y'all this was the most frustrating mood board I've ever worked on🙄. I had it exactly to my liking and went to save...nothing happened. I tried everything before giving in and hitting the refresh button. Lost all my progress and had to start from scratch. Snickers filled the room, making way for the side eye your husband gave his two eldest daughters. His eyes moved at a snail’s pace before landing on you. Rio kissed his teeth as he watched your shoulders bounce up and down in silent giggles. You did everything to hold the laughter in, but his reaction made it difficult.

“Ain't a damn thing funny about any of this, mama,” he rasped.

Rio groaned as a tiny hand collided with his thigh. Sucking in a frustrated breath, he looked down, eyes settling on your third and youngest daughter.

“Daddy! You said a bad word. You’re not getting any dessert tonight. Gon’ miss out on all da candies,” she scolded, finger wagging in his direction.

“Alright, little miss thing. You're about to lose candy privileges as well. Are you supposed to be putting your hands on other people,” you reprimanded.

Her head tilted to the side, confusion written on her face. Big amber-colored eyes stretched with realization. “Sorry, Daddy,” she offered in a sweet baby voice.

“It's all good, baby girl. Daddy ain't mean to say a bad word.”

Rio noticed you and the two oldest rolling your eyes, hands flying in the air.

“Now, what I do?”

“These babies got you wrapped around their fingers.”

Just as Rio was about to argue your point, baby boy piped up, reminding him why he was irritated in the first place. The agitated toddler yanked at his pant leg. They eyed one another as his cute, chubby little hands stretched toward your husband. 

“Bae! Up!”

Laughter filled the room once more. You locked eyes with your husband. He side-eyed you as he picked the bossy toddler up.

Your husband nodded towards the chubby tot, “This is what I’m talkin’ about. These little goons talkin’ to me crazy.”

Rio’s brown orbs stared into identical eyes. “Aye, listen, little dude. You’re my mans and all, but you gon’ stop with this bae mess. Can you say Daddy?” Rio pointed at himself and enunciated slowly, “Daddy.”

The little tyrant giggled, shook his head no, and shouted, “Bae!”’

“Listen, little man, we ain't about to be roaming this neighborhood, decked out in the finest of costumes, with you hollering bae at me every five minutes.”

His little feet kicked as he bounced in his father’s arms.

“Baebaebae,” he retorted, doing a little jig.

“How old was little mama when we finally got her to switch back to daddy from bae?”

“Christopher, baby. He's in his terrible twos. Baby boy’s going to do what he wants. Don't fight it, bae-.”

“You do realize you're the problem. That's why I like it when you call me da-.”

Your hand connected with the back of his head softly. “Christopher!”

“I’m just saying, sweetheart. You got my boy over here thinking that’s my name. Put Daddy on repeat, and maybe he’ll get it right. Use my other nickname more often. Papa��that I can rock with.”

“You do realize the more you fight it—he’ll continue to say it, right?”

“All these kids are petty like their momma. It be your own blood, for real. I thought you was the homie, son,” he teased the babbling toddler.

“You say that like it’s a bad thing. At least people will know not to try them,” you sassed.

Rio’s face lit up at that. “You right, mama. Come, kiss Daddy,” he demanded.

“Baebae!”

“That’s opp behavior, son. Do better,” he chuckled as he rubbed his hand across your growing bump.

He kissed, leaving a playful bite on your bottom lip as his free hand grabbed a handful of your round, plump derrière. “I love this green dress on you, mama. I’m feeling this—what are the ladies callin’ them these days? Bust down middle parts,” he quoted. Rio stared at you lustfully, “That honey blonde lookin’ good on you, darlin’. He leaned closer and whispered in your ear, “Wear it to bed tonight.”

“Calm yourself, husband. The children are present.”

Rio bit his lip, nodding his head in appreciation. “Who are you dressed as this year,” he questioned, stealing another kiss.

“Pregnant Beyoncé, duh! You know this is giving very much Queen Bey. Don’t play with your girl. You ain’t gotta worry, b-Papa.” You twirled strands around a finger, biting your lip, “This is an install. You have plenty of time to enjoy her in private.”  Leaning closer, finishing in a mumble, “Can’t wait for you to come up with a name for this alter ego.”

“You need to bust out the red joint again. I’m anticipating a visit from Red Ryder soon,” he insisted.

Clearing her throat, the eldest child brought you two back to more important matters. You chuckled, “Sorry, loves. Let’s revert to more important topics such as these beauties.” Pointing at each child, oldest to youngest, you explained their costume. “Please believe if I’m going as momma Bey, you gotta have Blue and Rumi. Then we have the beautiful Little Mermaid—Halle Bailey’s version, of course, and last, but most certainly not least—Sir Carter.”

“Mama, is this why you got me dressed in black tie? Let me guess—.”

“Yep! You Billionaire Hov. You’re not a businessman. You’re a business, man!” you boasted, popping your tongue. “Minus the cheating, of course. You know not to play with me. Sorry, Bey! Shade but no shade.”

“BAE!”

“Let’s go before this little menace says it again,” Rio sighed. “Everybody got their Halloween buckets?”

He looked toward the oldest, and she took the words out of his mouth, “Make sure you hold your sister’s hands. I know, Daddy.”

Rio continued, “Remember-.”

“Always say Trick or Treat, be polite, and don’t hustle anybody for extra candy. Daddy, we got this, chill,” she finished once more.

His head tilted to the side as he mumbled, “Got a response for everything. Stop laughing, mama. She’s not that funny. Everybody, come on. We out.”

Dissecting Billy and Agatha's conversation

-Power doesn’t interest me.

-Keep telling yourself that.

She knows that dance. She has danced that dance before. Agatha has a unique power that can make her very powerful, so she seeked knowledge in order to control/hone it. But as she gets more power, she gets more knowledge. That’s how she walked the road and came out, that’s how she got the Darkhold. I don’t think she necessarily is just power-hungry, she is also knowledge-hungry. So she knows what path Billy tries to walk.

Or it could be more plain: witches who want to walk the road are all power-hungry, ready to embrace their darkness.

-I had a feeling when we first met. 

I already talked about that “feeling”. But more on this, I think one of many reasons Agatha hopes he is Nicholas is because he appears almost the same time as Rio, so this could be Rio playing some sick trick with her son's soul (given how they behave with each other, I won’t look pass that lol). After Rio told her and Billy’s angry talks, Agatha finally tried to confirm the other possibility by provoking Billy.

-Even with the sigil in the way, you and your mother have the same tell.

The “tell” being (for lack of a better word I will go with) the heroic righteousness: Wanda tried to save it all in WandaVision: release the town people and save her family (that she created); Billy tries to walk the road but wants his moral intact.

-Which is?

-Very inconvenient for you.

She tries to warn Billy here, that if he walks the witches road, he needs to abandon that heroic righteousness or he will fall like his mother did.

Her whole vibe right now is just taunting him, “poking that bear”. But there is still some care leaking through the crack (i love it). She doesn’t admit it, but I think she hates to see witches walk the same path as her and fail because of the common moral holding them back.

-It’s nice to see you again, Billy.

She tries to connect here. She knows with the sigil, no one has ever said his name, at least those of his kind.

Now the next part is amazing acting by Kathryn Hahn: 

1. Billy said his name, Billy, and Agatha’s eyes got teary. I think those are for Agatha. She cries for herself, for a little surprise at how she can still get so naive after all those years, how she let herself open in front of people for stupid reasons.

2. Billy said William, and Agatha realize his problem, which needs to be resolved if they want to come out of here alive. That’s why she starts to talk about Jen and Lilia in that fancy act of hers, and you can see how awkward she is, she doesn’t know how to comfort someone about people’s death.

-I’m not like you.

-Where have I heard that before?

The eyes, the smile, the look back at Billy, chef kisses, you go Kathryn Hahn she throws it right back at Billy’s face, yeah at least people like me stay alive, lol.

-Where did you come by this fresh body you’re wearing?

She tested him with that question. By this question, she knows he feels guilty having that body. That’s why the talk after, the talk she dreamt for someone told her many years ago.

Next is Billy retaliates, telling her he doesn’t need him. And Agatha is surprised, because what does he mean he doesn’t need her? He has power but no knowledge, she has knowledge but no power. The laugh after seeing (and confirmed) that Billy can use his power without getting all emotional, he is truly like his mother.

And the “deduction” part is just pure evil of Agatha. Also the tongue clicking sounds so much like a witch’s evil laugh, I love it. But she shows Billy his goal/plan isn’t that well-covered, it only takes her a minute to unveil it, plus how the past trials have had all the witches, can he even survive passing one alone.

-Gosh, you really are a Maximoff. Otherwise, none of this would be nearly as dramatic.

Everyone love this line, lol. I think it pissed Agatha off because Maximoff witches are power af but clueless like a 3 year olds.

Now the next part is truly amazing describing Agatha’s nasty character (which I adore). As Billy said that they would walk together, but he doesn’t trust her and will not do so, Agatha doesn’t say anything to mock him back right there, she just inhales softly, doing some silly thing with her hair. She is laughing at him, silently. Because she knows from here on, he will actively hate her, and she can’t wait to see the look on his face when he realizes he has to trust her, because that is what the road required the witches to do. She is in for a treat.

— "Hi, How can we help you today?"

As [Name] and Karma enter the Café, they're greeted by Isogai.  Karma winces as the realization of Isogai working there hits him like a ton of bricks. He can't believe he forgot such an important detail.

It's not Isogai he's worried about, if Karma asked him to, he'd keep things a secret. The problem arises if another one of his classmates are here and it somehow spreads to the main campus or even worse- Korosensei, who is known for getting overly involved in other peoples relationships.

A few tables away Nagisa is attempting to back track, "Are you sure we should be here? Don't you think this is too intrusive even for us..?"

"Nagisa, do you realize how much dirt the sadist has on everyone? This is our chance to get back at him so don't wimp out now."

"I am not wimping out! I think If we asked he'd-"

Rio whisper-shouts "Wait look! They're here!"

Karma scans the area, just in case. He chose the café since it's usually quiet, much like today. The only people here were the usual older ladies doting on Isogai trying to set him up with their grandchildren, and an unusual group of people decked in all black and sunglasses. He thought maybe they were coming back from a funeral.

"[Name], you go get us a table I'll order everything."

Name nods, grateful she doesn't have to carry the pressure of that.

Isogai leads Karma over to the register, thinking now is probably the best shot he has to ask any questions.

"Didn't realize you and [Name] are friends."

"She's the only person I talked to when I was in A class, aside from Nagisa."

"Ah makes sense, should I go ask her what she want's?"

"It's okay, [Name] orders the same thing every time, [favorite food + drink]."

"What about you?"

"Surprise me."

Isogai sweat drops "Are you sure? What if you don't like what I pick?"

"I'm sure, thanks Isogai."

"Anytime, have fun with your date..?"

"You won't tell Korosensei about this right? You know how he gets."

"I won't tell him." Isogai feels guilty, Korosensei would find out about this whether he kept his mouth shut or not.

He was in a tough position, he didn't want to lie to Karma but he didn't want to out four of his classmates and his teacher that would hear anything he whispered.

                                    ༉‧₊˚.

"The pudding is so good!" Kayano exclaimed cheerily.

"We know Kayano, keep it down!" Rio hushed her as she took her sunglasses off.

"I think we should get out of here." Nagisa piped up

Rio laughs "Go ahead, Karma's going to see you walk right out."

After shutting him up she then addresses Korosensei's uninvited presence, "If you're going to be here make yourself useful, put the pen down."

"But this is where my inspiration is most flowing..."

"I can’t see anything from here! We should move closer." suggests Hinano,

"No need for that, our job here is done."

"But we haven't heard anything." Rio questioned

"Did you forget I have an advanced sense of hearing?" Korosensei proudly announces before he continues

"Karma confirmed to Isogai it's a date and asked him not to let me find out moments ago! I don't understand why he wouldn't want me to know but that's not the focus..."

Hinano replies "Makes sense, I wouldn't want you knowing if I were him either."

                                      ༉‧₊˚.

Karma grabbed [Names] phone out of her hand, she gave him a half hearted smile. "Who's more important? Me or your phone."

She laughed as she snatched it back

"Sorry, it's Asano. He's been texting me about an event the student council is working on."

"I didn't hear anything about an event."

"I didn't mention it? I've been so stressed out about it I haven't even had time to complain. It's a tutoring group like we usually have but this time we're planning out the lessons beforehand with actual lecture presentations."

"If it's stressful just let them do everything."

She smiled "No way- Asano is such a control freak I think he'd show up at my door if I ignored the messages!"

[Name] pressed her lips together, she'd been wanting to ask Karma something for while but hadn't found a good moment, she figured now was as good as it could get,

"Are you still planning to stay in End Class? I miss having classes with you."

"I miss that too but I like End class, it's not as bad as everyone makes it sound."

"You have to hike up a hill every morning and get judged every time you walk near the main campus. What makes you want to stay?"

"For one, there's no Asano"

She cracked a smile "Hey! There's also no me."

If he wanted to stay, that was his decision. No matter how many times she told herself this she continued to spiral thinking about how everyone in her life was seemingly growing distant.

The explosion of the moon was a nasty reminder that nothing was here to stay. Everything she had today could be gone by tomorrow.

She didn't have any friends other than Kaho, who's been too busy for her. They haven't hung out alone in weeks because of how caught up Kaho has been in her relationships. If Kaho can grow distant in such a short amount of time whats to say Karma won't.

The more name thinks about it the more her voice grows anxiously.

"You won't consider it? Your grades are perfect, as long as you stop fighting they'll want you back."

"And if I don't feel like going back?"

"This isn't just what you feel, You're one of the smartest students- I don't want to watch your work go down the drain over some stupid fights."

"Stupid? if everyone in the main campus wasn't so stuck up, and the teachers weren't so conniving then there wouldn't be problems."

"Don't be like that, I know you're helping people but what's stopping you from coming back? You don't miss me? Why am I the only one who cares about that?"

Her eyes water, but she keeps  the tears from falling.

"I do care about that, what reason have I given you to believe I don't?”

"You aren't thinking of me. I'm starting to doubt you ever do!"

[Name] doesn't know what she's talking about. Everything he's doing for her. She doesn't know her life is on the line and if he left E-class he'd have no control on the outcome. The words fall out before he can backtrack,

"I'm thinking about your future! I'm trying to make things better for everyone!"

"Staying there has everything to do with everyone but me!"

He bites his tongue. He's going to say too much if he continues.

He cares alot more than she realizes. He feels so desperate to assassinate Koro sensei because if they don't it won't just be him dying, it'll be [Name]- and the rest of the world too.

She scoffed, "You're pushing me away, the same way you did Nagisa."

He opened his mouth to respond, but before he could utter a word, they realized someone was coming towards them.

"Karma, [Name]? Are you guys alright?" It was a familiar voice, concerned and hesitant.

"...sorry were we loud?" [Name's] anger fading into resignation.

Isogai sets their order down on the table,

"No, don't worry!" He smiles reassuringly, [Name] couldn't be sure if he was telling the truth or simply trying to not embarrass her.

"We're fine. [Names] just tired."

Karma takes a sip of the drink isogai picked "Matcha?"

Isogai nods with an awkward smile, he's not sure whether he should ignore the fact they were fighting a second ago or try helping, he decides they can fix it themselves.

"I'll leave you alone then, If you need anything else call me over!"

"Thank you Isogai."

Karma mimics her voice in the most exaggerated way "Thank you Isogaiii, don't leave yet Isogai!"

"I don't sound like that."

"You're right, you were smiling way more."

She scoffs in an attempt to hide her laugh, "You're so petty."

He shrugs, not able to deny it "Wanna try my drink?"

[Name] pulls his cup towards herself "I didn't know you liked Matcha."

"Me neither."

He noticed the confusion in her face as she furrowed her eyebrows but he ignored it wanting to get to the root of her problems before they re-escalated.

"[Name], I'm not replacing you or whatever else you've been telling yourself, but I'm set on staying in E-class."

"I know, but we haven't been seeing each other and you got new friends and it's getting to my head."

"If you want to be in the same class so badly just start failing until they throw you down with me."

[Name] deadpanned, her phone rang for the 5th time since they got there.

"Asano would probably stop annoying you too."

She knew he was kidding, but part of her was considering it.

"He wants me to meet with the rest of the council at the library in half an hour."

"Let's eat quickly then, we'll walk there together."

Twenty minutes later they picked up all their belongings getting ready to leave, when [Name] noticed a green haired girl nearly drooling at the sight of pudding options Isogai brought out from the back, she was hovered over the glass display- Nagisa was pulling her hand trying to get her back to their table.

Name pointed at the interaction "Karma, isn't that Nagisa with a girl over there?"

"Huh? Yeah- that's Kayano..." He trails off when he notices their strange outfit choices and it dawns on him. He looks over at the strange group from earlier and makes eye contact with Korosensei. He decides to hurry her out the door before she can catch wind of anything.

"[Name] let's go, you're going to be late."

"I want to say hi to Nagisa, and since when do you care about being on time?"

Dragging her out the door he says "Since today- let's hurry before Asano calls you again."

More little things I noticed in my third rewatch of ATSV.

-SPOILERS AHEAD-

There was a moment that confused me where Spot was robbing the guy of the ATM and he was setting down some cans for (seemingly) no reason. He was actually placing the ATM on top of the cans so he can roll it out.

I can't confirm if this is what was actually there, but when Uncle Aaron was telling Miles they "gotta roll," there was an acrylic stand of Spider-Man there that looked like Miles Morales Spider-Man (color and all).

When Miles was swinging through 42 NYC, there was an advertisement for "Vulture" something, I'm assuming a company. Messed up.

When Miguel first introduces himself by ramming into Vulture, Gwen gets to the spot and does this really slick landing animation where she kinda just gracefully brushes against the bannister briefly before landing on the ground.

42 Rio being given more hours at the hospital shows just how bad 42 New York has gotten without a Spider-Man. Terrifying.

I think I may have pointed this out on a previous post, but 1610 Uncle Aaron had a lucky black cat while 42 Uncle Aaron had a lucky white cat instead. I also like the parallels of Peter being tied up against a punching bag by Miles in ITSV while Miles is tied up by Uncle Aaron in ATSV.

I find it hilarious that Miles STILL doesn't know about ComicCon and didn't bother to look it up since ITSV when 42 Rio brings up "ComicsCon."

When Hobie is blocking off Miles from walking through to Miguel and Miles bumps into him, there's a tiny skull that appears when they make contact. It might just be a punk thing, but I wonder if it's an omen for the bad thing that's ahead of Miles.

Lego Spider-Man's vocalized "boop boop"s killed me.

I love the reveal when Miles realizes he's in the wrong universe, the camera pulls into his face and twists slightly. Obvious but nonetheless cool film styling of "his world is spinning" aside, I love that it feels like a 40's/50's kind of thing. Like this is something that you would see in The Twilight Zone, it nails the old comic book-y vibes too.

42 Miles' facial posture has his head up high and his chin slightly jutting out and up, like he's this "in-charge," cold, dignified superior while our Miles has his chin straight, sometimes pointed down and his head straight, showing he's trying to appeal to his humanity and trying to be humble and unassuming. It's awesome details like this that I love.

Hearing Spot say that he couldn't get a job because of what happened to him at that deli really hurts, honestly. Even if, in a way, he himself is partially to blame, it sucks that he has to resort to this. And the way he says it, almost in a "well, I can't do anything else so this is the only thing I can do ¯\_(ツ)_/¯" kind of way is really saddening, like he's trying to take it in stride and as a matter of fact. As awful as Spot becomes, I still feel bad for him.

Miles has a "#BLM" pin on his backpack. I'm sure people saw it already and it's probably a given, but in a world where media is trying to appeal to as wide of an audience as possible, it's nice to see the studio make a clear stance with a character that absolutely fits the bill.

That title drop for Earth 42 when Uncle Aaron tries to dab up Miles going into slow-mo with the music subdued was dope as fuck.

Miles throwing his arms up when asking when his dad dies ("When does it happen?!") is so on-point and well animated, it feels like something every New Yorker would do (I would personally know, since I am one).

When Gwen asks Jess if she ever made mistakes, Jess' reply, saying "yeah, but I got over it," is pretty toxic. It feeds into Gwen's need to avoid her problems rather than address them and face them, and I think that's why she probably chooses to avoid discussing things about Miles to him directly.

That look of disgust on Miles' face when he's being surrounded by Spider-People ("What is this? Some kind of intervention or something?") was so real.

The long silence between Miles choosing to go into the portal to follow Gwen is so good, I love when the movie speaks for itself rather than the dialogue. You can see the hesitation in Miles' eyes and face and then his determination as he jumps headfirst into the portal. A great character scene and fitting transition into the next act.

The album cover for the soundtrack is so good and comes from the scene where Miles goes into the portal. It feels like a mix of something from a Golden Age comic book cover, Miles' hand opened out towards the camera like he's being thrust into another world. And the colors of the portal and transition to Mumbattan are gorgeous. Fills the 40's/50's vibes I was talking about earlier, too.

Jeff's toast is really well done and I like how heartfelt and real it feels. Makes his anger, unfortunately, justified on Miles, even if Miles was trying to do the right thing for him and Rio in the end.

"I was just cool the whole time" is such a boss line, I love Hobie.

Miguel casually (almost lazily) swinging around rescuing civilians at the Guggenheim whilst talking to Gwen about a serious conversation is unironically cool. And it fits to his character, he's probably done it so many times that it becomes child's play in the end.

"I ain't got Scooby-Doo, mate."

How does Hobie know that Miles should use his palms for those powers? Curious.

"But now...I'm not afraid of anything." I love Miles so much, he's grown and become so strong not just for himself but for others. He's the best Spidey. Full stop.

I love the reversal of reflections for Gwen. At the beginning of the movie, she's in her casual wear but with the reflections always showing her in her Spider outfit. At the end, she comes home in her Spider outfit but with herself in her casual wear in the reflection instead. She started off alone in the world as Spider-Woman and ended feeling like Gwen. Her arc was completed and she's facing herself, the real Gwen Stacy and not Spider-Woman.

I felt bad that the deli clerk got bonked by the bat :( But, at least he's all right.

Miles saying "Don't do that" to the kid licking the subway window is real. That shit is nasty, the windows are the least clean parts of NYC's subway.

I love that both Gwen and Miles use comically deep voices around their respective dads. It's cute.

When the police officer was saying "I think we found our sign" when Gwen webbed them up, George's silent head turn with unamusement was awesome.

I will not have anymore George Stacy slander. Yeah, he made a bad call in seemingly arresting his daughter, but he QUIT his job for her. He loves her that much that he quit being, not just a police officer, but a CAPTAIN, for HER sake.

Speaking of which, when George had his gun pointed at her before she unmasked, he had his gun down the whole time after she unmasked, even while he was re-relaying her her rights. And when she tries to approach him, his gun flinches up a bit but stops.

"Can you go easy on the penguin?"

This is actually a follow-up post, since I said before that I might make another. This movie is too much for me and I love taking it apart.

Edit: I'm sorry for the constant updates and changes/revisions, but I can't stop thinking about this movie.

Takeshi and Rio almost never fight.

I've mentioned before which one was their biggest fight but to expand a bit more on why they're like this, it's all rooted in Tsuyoshi’s parenting and his particular circumstances.

The twins have always been very perceptive, and at a young age they realized how hard it was for Tsuyoshi to balance his business and taking care of two kids on his own. Yes, some neighbors often offered him help with the kids, but he sometimes was too proud to accept it.

So, Takeshi and Rio reached the conclusion that the best they could do to ease Tsuyoshi’s burden was to be “good kids”. They shared everything as equally as they could, or based on their preferences, and never fought for it. If any of them had a problem, they relied on each other before anyone else, and if the problem was between them, they solved it peacefully and as quietly as possible.

Even so, if someone ever heard them screaming at each other, it would certainly be because one of them is in the worst mental state possible, disregarding their health and well-being, while the other is extremely worried and trying to help.

The miner changes to Korotan D.

DISCLAIMAR:

This is just based on my personal opinions and thoughts so if you disagree that's fine just don't be rude about or get personal in the end of the day opinions are subjective. Now let's begin

For those who don't know Korotan D is a story that takes place 3 years after Koro's death. Now if I'm going to be honest Korotan D is fine, while I do have huge problems with it I do think it's a fine story and if you like/dislike it that's fine, but personally I just want to talk about or think about it, but unfortunatelly I can't really stop thinking about it and given that I'm a fan of rewrites or changes that fix stuff I decided to fix my personal problems with Korotan D. Now I just want to make it clear that this isn't a full rewrite of it I'm just changing somethings about it that I have a problem with and again this is just my opinion. Also if you want to read Korotan D @blazardragon translated it you can go to his page and read it.

My Changes:

The first change is in chapter 4 where Karma asks Nagisa if his bothered with Jerome working with Kayano. Nagisa respons with

"To be honest I am. I'm not saying she can't handle his actions, but that Jerome is a jerk and I don't get why Kayano's working with him when she deserves better."

Nagisa realized what he said and he didn't understand why he said it like that but it did made Karma a bit satisfied along with Kayano.

Chapter 7

After Kayano heared Karma saying Nagisa was worried about her being lovey-dovey Kayano scolds Nagisa for thinking suck a thing.

Kayano: WHAT!!! Did you honestlly think I would fall over to some sell out.

Nagisa: I'm sorry Kayano, I-I didn't mean it like that.

Kayano: Then what did you meant by that.

Nagisa: I was just worried working with that jerk specially since...

Kayano: What Nagisa? Spit it out.

Nagisa: Your to perfect for him.

Kayano was taken a back by what Nagisa said.

Kayano: W-What?

Nagisa: Kayano... I'm sorry I just... missed you and I really do think that... your amazing and I-I... care about you.

Kayano was blushing to the point her face was red a tomato, she couldn't belive what she was hearing amd yet she was more than happy, ever since that faithfull kiss Kayano always had the hearts for Nagisa no matter what she always loved him and now that Nagisa said that to Kayano she couldn't belive it but she aas happy to know that her crush does care for her and what he think of her.

Kayano: Nagisa.

Nagisa noticed Kayano about to cry and he couldn't see her cry specially since it was because of what he said.

Nagisa: Kayano please don't cry, I'm so sorry I didn't mean t-

But Kayano grabed Nagisa by the coler and kissed him the sam way he kisses her all those years ago, the rest of E3 were shock with Rio and Karma taking pics. Once she was finished Kayano let go and was in shock and so was Nagisa, but then she smiled and huged him with Nagisa hugging back.

Explenation:

Now this is where my changes to Korotan D whitch are pretty small but personally I think these changes would make the story a bit better and let me explain why.

First of I should meantion my biggest problem with Korotan D that being the story had everything needed to confirm Nagikae and what do I mean by that? Basically the story had the right tools to have Nagisa and Kayano to conffes and there were ship teases and not to meantion Jerome who's basically the guy who makes the moves on someone's girl whitch do see in Korotan D with Kayano and others like Rio and Okuda.

But instead Korotan D just didn't confirm it and I get why but still at this point you should just confirm it, it just needed some small changes to work and let me explain them.

First I changed what Nagisa said in chapter 4 where he just said that Kayano wouldn't be bothered by Jerome but in my version I had Nagisa expressing some level of jealousy and feelings towards Kayano it's just that he doesn't fully realise it yet that until a few chapters in when he realizes he does love her I'd say in chapter 6 is where he realizes it.

And now with chapter 7 now I would like to say that most of it's fine... except for the ending, basically after Karma said Nagisa was worried that Kayano would fall in love with Jerome everyone scolds Nagisa and while he does apologiez and everythings is fine... it just ends. Whitch I don't like it specially since Nagisa didn't deserve everyone scolding him I mean come on Nagisa was abused, etc his been threw enough, so yeah to put it simply I don't like Korotan D's ending whitch is why in my version after Kayano was the only one who scolded Nagisa whitch makes sence since it would basically be if you best friend didn't trust and in my version while Nagisa does apologiez he also explains why he felt like it and conffese to Kayano in a different way with saying trully carring for Kayano and thinks she's amazing. With Kayano deciding to conffes her love by kissing him.

Now again this is just my opinion so if you disagree that's fine just don't be to made about everyone has there own opinions so don't get others thoughts bother you.

A long unedited late-night ramble about the Satous

Writer's note: I tried. I really did. But my thoughts tended to go all over the place, and I sort of repeated myself a few times, and I fell asleep in the middle of writing it so uhhh it's not that good. I'm not completely sure why I'm posting it and sharing it with a bunch of strangers on the internet. Out of boredom, maybe. Even though I sort of disliked this ramble, I thought I made a couple of cool points. Anyways you can skim it for a few cool things but you can tell how tired I was when I wrote it so uh

Gashu was never that close of a father with his kids because that's not the way his personality is. Or maybe it was Asunaro that was trying to turn him into a soulless machine they could use. Or maybe it is a Satou trait. Kai also had a hard time expressing his emotions properly. It seems that Gashu had the same problem.

Even if he did seem cold, he really did care for his sons. In the beginning, at least. He did his best to show affection by giving his kids cake and trying to plan vacations for them and whatnot. He loved them with a father's love, and he never would do anything to purposefully hurt them. Sure, he made them go through tough trials to make them better assassins, but I think that was because he wanted to see them grow stronger and he believed in them.

Originally, after adopting Sei, he simply used him as a tool to make Kai train more. Over time, though, he started to treat him like a real son. Probably after he realized that Kai no longer saw him as an enemy.

Gashu started to warm up to both of them and for a short while, they were a bit more like a real family, until that whole business with the Hunger Games style event.

Gashu was left with two choices: One, disobey Asunaro and put him and his family in danger, or Two, risk losing at least one of his kids, but stay on Asunaro's good side.

Gashu picked Asunaro over his family, because that's where his loyalty ultimately stood. I don't think it was an easy decision for him, though.

The reason he cut himself off from his sons after that was because he wanted it to hurt less if they both died. It still hurt him a lot when Sei died, but he didn't have time to grieve, not when Asunaro was giving him new orders.

Kai sort of shut himself off as well, probably because he didn't feel like he had a family anymore, not when Sei was dead and his father was acting cold towards him again.

Kai didn't start to warm up again until he started working for the Chidouins, and they probably felt like a new family to him.

As for Gashu, I don't think he allowed himself the luxury of having normal feelings and emotions, because of his role in Asunaro. He couldn't afford to let his emotions get in the way if he had to do something or make a decision.

Eventually Rio Ranger was created. Why he was a recreation of Sei, I don't know. There's multiple reasons, but it really depends on who came up with the idea in the first place, whether it was Safalin, Gashu himself, or someone in Asunaro's higher-ups. (Maybe it was Mrs. Hiyori, as I have nicknamed the shadowy figure.)

The reason Gashu decided against giving Ranger positive emotions at the last minute was because he was afraid that he might get too attached to him if he was too much like Sei. With negative emotions, he was less likable, and it was easier for Gashu to get rid of him, when the time came.

Poor Ranger suffered an inferiority complex just like Sei, only he was programmed to feel inferior to every human, and felt nothing but hatred and jealousy for them.

Well, we all know how that whole thing ended up. I could go into a whole rant about Ranger himself as well as his true self, Laizer, but let's not go into that now or we'll be here all night.

After shooting Ranger, Gashu took over as Floormaster, up until his death in the Main Game.

Oh my, what isn't there to say about that? I'll try not to go too far off topic here.

In the end, Gashu died for Asunaro by taking his own life just so the Main Game could continue and the participants wouldn't get another chance to get out through the exit. It's a parallel of Kai's death, if you think about it.

Both killed themselves for reasons that were important to them. Gashu died so the Death Game could continue smoothly, because he was loyal to Asunaro. Kai died to disrupt the Death Game, because he wanted to show the others that they were not Asunaro's pawns.

Maybe Kai was secretly hoping that his father would hear about his death and decide to change his loyalties and join the fight. Because maybe if his family had been his priority instead of the organization, then they could all still be together. It was just a sliver of a chance, but who knows, maybe they could have run away and never be found again.

Gashu obeyed Asunaro until the end, though. He had already sacrificed his sons to them. What did it matter, exchanging his own life for proof that he had unwavering loyalty to the organization.

However, there's a small chance I could be wrong. Maybe the reason he shot himself was because he was simply tired.

Maybe he was tired of being used by Asunaro, and wanted to take the simpler way out. Maybe Kai's death really did get to him after all, and the message he was trying to send, but Gashu had no will to see it through properly.

Maybe the reason he killed himself was partly because he wanted to prevent Asunaro from using him any further. Or maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part. I tend to try to find the good in everybody, no matter how bad their actions are.

Anyway, to sum it all up, Gashu gave in to fear, and fear is what broke the family up. It was Asunaro or his family, and on that day, when he received news of the battle between all of the would-be assassins, he picked Asunaro, unfortunately.

As I said, maybe if he hadn't given in to fear his family could still be intact. Or maybe they would have all died in the end anyway.

He had a few chances in his life to turn it all around and right his wrongs, but he didn't take them. Because what would Asunaro do to him if he disobeyed the wishes of “God,” as Mrs. Hiyori called the organization?

No, I don't hate him as much as I used to. I sympathize with him because I've given in to fear before. But if you never have the courage to stand up for what you think is right, then what are you even doing?

It seemed like what he thought was right and what he believed in was Asunaro, but maybe that wasn't so. Maybe there was still a bit of doubt in his mind, even after he tried to bury it.

That's all I have to say, I guess, about how he closed himself off so he wouldn't get hurt, how he gave in to fear, and how he had to decide where his loyalties lie.

I feel sorry that he never ended up getting anything sorted out while he or his sons were alive (even though I know he's a fictional character in a silly game that I traumatize myself with), but it brings a great comfort to me to know that there's an afterlife in there as well. This means that Sei and Kai are reunited, and that maybe they'll be able to talk to their father once more and spend a blissful eternity together when they get things sorted out. They have all of the time in the world.

Miles is a ftm trans boy. (This'll cause problems later on.) He realized this when he was 13, but he was scared and in denial.

His birth name was Michaela.

People always thought he was a guy because he looked like one, which made him happy.

The first person he came out to was his uncle, Aaron. (Aw ye Aaron angst soon hell ye)

He is also bisexual, which isn't a big deal to him, he's scared shitless at how he's gonna tell his parents he's trans.

As he gets older, he doesn't care much about having a s/o, but we'll come back to this later.

For the sake of these headcanons and where I'm planning on going with this, Aaron lives till old age :D

Miles fessed up about being trans to Aaron when he was 14 going on 15.

Aaron being the W uncle he was, supported him with his whole life because believe it or not, Aaron was also trans. He had his surgery young so miles grew up never knowing.

Aaron was the type of guy to think that it'd be better if Miles told his parents instead of keeping them in the dark.

Miles didn't come out as trans officially to his parents until he was 17. He went to Aaron's apartment and cut his hair. He had a BUNCH of hair.

Like the good Samaritan he was, he donated it to cancer centers for the causes of cancer and alopecia and all the other diseases that take your hair away.

Okay here's the angstier part of these headcanons 🤪🫶🏽

He went home that night with Aaron behind him and officially told his parents. His mother welcomed and supported him with open arms, changing her use of pronouns and names and calling him son immediately.

His dad on the other hand actually wasn't there. But when he came home, he saw Rio and Miles hugging so he was confused. Aaron left and Miles asked to talk outside privately.

He told his dad and..his dad didn't respond to it in the best way.

His father told him it would be a change and that he didn't want to say goodbye to his daughter so soon.

Jeff never wanted a son in the first place. He wanted a girl.

All of the respect he had for his father was gone in like 2 seconds.

Miles went back inside with tears in his eyes. His mom looked up from the kitchen table and asked him how it went but when she saw the heartbreak in his eyes, she rushed over to him.

When Miles told her what happened, she was so pissed. She wanted to cuss his dad out so badly, but she didn't. Instead, she called Aaron and told him to come get Miles so she could talk to her husband.

As Aaron was driving back to get Miles, he was fucking furious. While Miles was in the car, he got out and quite literally punched the shit out of his dad and started yelling at him.

That was the end of it at that time.

Aaron bought miles a new binder (after finding his old one that he's had since he was 14)

He got miles basically everything he needed, and Miles started saving up to get surgery.

The first thing he got was too surgery. He didn't care too much about bottom surgery but he still wanted it.

As time went on, his dad's comments actually started to get to him. His dad would misgender and deadname him almost every day.

For a while, miles was actually really depressed. He didn't let anyone see it though. Not Peter, or Gwen. Which brings me to my next point.

Miles actively quit being spiderman 3 times. He quit for the very first time when he was 14, he was actively failing his classes because of stress and exhaustion and his parents had no clue why. Then he kept going and quit again 2 weeks before his 16th birthday. He had a bunch of wounds that needed to heal and he played sports so he didn't want anyone who didn't know he was spiderman to assume his parents were hitting him. After some time and much exercise, he went at it again. He quit for "good" the 3rd time, 3 days into his 17th birthday. One of his friends had gotten injured during an attack and almost died while he was trying to get the guy away from his friend. He swore he wouldn't let anyone get hurt and he thought not being spiderman would prevent that. ( His depression also played a major role in why he kept quitting as well)

It did not.

So he went back at it and is currently still spiderman.

He actually was in the hospital for a suicide attempt. Twice on different attempts.

He begged the hospital not to give him his mom. There were like 15 nurses w the last name morales so when his mom came in it went a little something like this.

"Hello, my name is Rio, I'll be your nurse today. It shows you're in here because of a failed suicide attempt. I'm so sorry to hear that it got that bad and I'm glad you're still with us. It's funny, you have the same name as my son...Miles..?" As she turned around, there he was. Miles was in the hospital bed with stitches and scars on his wrists from bleeding out in Aaron's bathtub.

The tears came flooding out as miles avoided her gaze at all cost. He was ashamed. He was scared. It brought him back to being 14 again. When someone found out he was trans.

She rushed to his side.

"Mi niño, cómo sucedió esto? ¿Quién hizo esto? (My child/boy, what happened? Who did this?)

She instantly realized what happened when he did not speak. Her eyes softened and tears flooded out of her eyes. She began to sob as she walked out of the room and into the hallway. Passing patients looked at her as they had never seen a nurse or doctor lose their cool at the hospital.

Once miles was out, he was placed on suicide watch and his mom was watching over him like a hawk. For a while, he was actually getting better and doing really well.

Truth be told, he's scared of dying so he'd never actually kill himself.

When he draws, he draws all his characters with small little self harm scars on the bodies as a comfort thing because he did the same thing.

Aaron and Rio are trying to talk sense into his dad because that's kinda one of the main reasons miles attempted in the first place.

Miles has a playlist for when he feels sad. It consists of Cavetown, Melanie Martinez, SZA, his favorite song (Sunflower post Malone & swae Lee), Mac Miller, and a bunch of others <3

Some ATSV things that I love.

-SPOILERS AHEAD-

Gwen's world is gorgeous and the fact that it helps to convey emotions so well is awesome.

I can't say for certain, but the part where Lizard Parker's hand is sticking out of the rubble is similar to Green Goblin's hand sticking out when he died in ITSV. Funnily enough, that's when both Peters died.

Spot goes through a similar arc as Miles: they both have these abilities that they awkwardly try to utilize, fail often, and end up hurting themselves in the process. The difference is that Miles had a mentor and friends to help him through his trauma and loneliness and channel his powers for good. Spot had no one and, although he had a much easier grasp of his abilities and was far quicker to adapt to them than Miles, he channels his powers with hatred.

Uncle Aaron caring for Rio and Miles in Earth 42 after Jeff's death says more about him than he thinks.

Miles is such a tragic character in some of the less obvious but still hurtful ways: he's actively giving up his pursuit of art in exchange for science just so he can see his friends, he has no IRL friends, his Spider friends were not allowed and/or chose not to see him when they had the ability to, he's outcasted by the Spider Society actively, they KNEW he was an anomaly and chose not to tell him, him becoming Spider-Man was by chance, he learned his dad was "fated" to die, and he inadvertently caused Spot's creation (though, that was mainly Spot's own fault to be fair). It sucks, but he still keeps going because he's gonna "do his own thing." Absolute chad. I love the Spider peeps, even Miles' friend squad, but, respectfully, fuck 'em (minus Hobie, for obvious punk reasons).

This prevailing theme of "you can't just ignore your problems, you need to face them" is so good, and it's apparent through Gwen. She flat out says "I don't know how to fix this" when she reveals herself to her dad and just goes on a whole separate adventure, escaping her world and her problems, just ignoring it. And she's finally forced to confront her problems and herself when she's kicked out of the Spider Society, saying the same exact thing when she finds her dad again.

Gwen didn't kill Peter and she says as much to her dad, but I'm sure she feels guilty about it and that's probably why she tries to ignore it and not talk about it, denying that part of herself and further adding to the "denying her problems" and, by extension, herself.

This may be a personal thing, but it's interesting that characters seem more expressive and open about their feelings when the mask is on, rather than when they're off. They're more comfortable when they're hiding behind a mask, and are more guarded and insecure about themselves when the mask is off. Again, this might just be pure personal speculation.

Another great theme I love is that not everyone knows what they're doing, and that's okay. Kids, teens, adults. "No one has a personal handbook." And that's awesome and something that everyone needs to hear. And even the people that think they know what they're doing, don't (Miguel, Jess).

Following that, I love that it leads into "trusting yourself" and why Miles rejecting what everyone is saying how his story should go and doing his own thing hits so hard. He doesn't know if what he's doing is right, but he wants to do the right thing and he's going to fight hard to do it. Gwen has trouble realizing this because of another point I'm gonna bring up after, but she starts to understand that at the end as well. Same for Peter when he doubts he'll be a good father for Mayday. Do right for yourself through others. And, in a way, that works for Miguel as well in trying to do right by the multiverse (needs of the many vs. needs of the few), but it became twisted from trauma to the point of zealotry and a bad habit.

Gwen's mentors (Miguel and Jess, most likely) twisted her view of what the right thing to do is. She's learning from them what THEY think is the right thing to do, rather than trusting herself. She fell into a crowd that, indirectly, used her at her most vulnerable moment when she was the most doubtful about herself to become their asset. It's cruel, but she learned from it after she was kicked out. And it also shows that Peter really WAS a good mentor to Miles in comparison.

Miles inherits the Spider-Man trait better than any other Spidey in the Society. "What's important is not standing by while allowing someone to suffer or die because you do nothing. If you don't get that, then you don't know the first thing about being Spider-Man." He does this without a second thought and INSTINCTUALLY. The fact that everyone CHOOSES to sacrifice is bonkers, a sacrifice is only viable when there's no other option when taking action. Miles LEARNED from his inaction in the first movie, now he's practically teaching everyone by example.

I don't agree with everyone saying that he needs to sacrifice to be a true Spider-Man, when this movie and ITSV before it is a critique of the Spider-Man mythos: that a Spider-Man is only a true hero until they have lost someone dear to them. Miles is an anomaly, and I feel like this only adds to him being the outlier if he goes BEYOND the curse and is able to save both his dad and the multiverse. If Raimi's Spider-Man could do it, so can he. And Gwen's dad is now alive and well, too! Not everything is set in stone, even Lyla said as much: "That's what the model says..."

Rio's speech to Miles is some of the most heartwarming, genuine, motherly writing I've seen in a long time and is a top highlight in the movie for me. And I think this is what kept Miles going through his escape from the Spider Society, standing firm against everyone saying he didn't belong and that he was going to get home safe and sound like she wanted.

"Meanwhile, the cakes take a ride..."

Also, the super long quiet moment after Gwen leaves and Rio is there to console him is such a nice breather. Allowing the film to soak and the characters to breathe is awesome, just seeing Miles react to seeing his friend leave with simple silence against the NY ambience is such under utilized filmmaking. LET FILMS BREATHE AND TAKE THEIR TIME.

Miguel's twisted view isn't without merit and I understand where he's coming from. He's taking these steps because he was forced to have this narrow-minded view of saving the world and what it means to be Spider-Man because of the trauma he experienced, that you NEED to sacrifice in order to save everyone else. His steps to do it are messed up and bordering antagonistic (especially when Miles is in the picture), but he's doing it for the right reasons (he watched an entire universe become erased because of his selfishness). But it's the wrong execution. He's a better written villain with understandable motives than Thanos, in my eyes.

And I really love that Miguel was willing to talk down Miles about what was at stake, to reason with him and empathize with him about the cost of his choices and where it lead him ("Trust me, I know") before he...jumped to an ultimatum.

The music fucking slaps, and I don't just mean in terms of melody and sound and all that. It tells a story as well without the movie, it has its themes perfectly interwoven (like a web heheh) together and creates a thematically rich soundtrack. Pemberton can create so many moods in one track effortlessly it's insane, all the way from heartwarming, to terrifying, to brutal, to epic, to heroic, to fun. Top marks.

"I'm gonna take everything from you, like you took everything from me. See you back home...Spider-Man" is terrifyingly delivered and a chilling line.

I don't need to say anything more about Hobie than anyone else has, but I severely misjudged him like Miles did and I love being proven wrong. Especially with the discussion about him being more brotherly towards him. I also liked that he saluted Mayday and knows how to handle a baby, looking out for the kids and all like he does.

Addendum, seeing Miguel being able to handle a baby as well is heartwarming and heartbreaking for obvious reasons.

The part where Hobie uses his legs to block Miles from going almost feels like he's trying to warn Miles not to go any further, that it's not gonna end well. Gotta love Hobie, man.

Peter's little speech to Miles is really nice, and something everyone needs a reminder of, too. "Bad things are gonna happen, but good things happen, too." It's short, simple, and sweet. Although, in the context of it basically being "yeah, your dad is gonna die, but something good will come from it, too," that's pretty messed up.

Seeing Miles' borderline evil smirk when he starts sapping Miguel's electricity is wild.

In relation to that, Miles has grown up so much. You can see that he's been able to calm himself down more and have better control of his abilities. You can especially see it when he's facing 42 Miles: his eyes relax, he steadies his breathing, and he has complete focus. That's when his powers come out. I love watching my boy work.

Side note to that last part about 42 Miles, our Miles clearly learned from Peter when he tore his gloved finger to use his powers: "Watch the hands, not the mouth."

Miles' "good bye" to Gwen is so sad, but you can hear he's grown from it. From them. He sounds so heavy hearted and disappointed. Again, I need to reiterate to his friend squad, really uncool, guys.

When they were going through every Spider person's captain death tally and there was Hobie's, his reply ("Yeah, what of it?") is heartbreaking.

In ITSV as well, but I love how they animate hugs in this movie. And I love how often it happens, too. They're quick and tight, but look and probably feel as warm as they look. It's a very affection heavy movie.

"The 'Spider Verse'...huh. That's...stupid" is such a dickhead thing to say, but it's so hilarious. It feels like something that would only be utterable in a comic book setting. It works.

That twist at the end is expertly crafted and I've talked about it in another post, and that cliffhanger (although painful to us viewers) is a perfect way to cap off that it's the beginning of the end and that all of the players are set, the pieces are in place. An Empire Strikes Back equivalent but in glorious comic book form, tone and all.

Anyway, movie good. I probably have more to say and maybe I'll make another post when I think more about this movie (I inevitably will). But yeah, I had to get this out of my head. Thanks.
