Grandpa Joe from Willy Wonka is a rat bastard and here's why: (note that this might be a mix of both movies. I watched both a lot as a kid and read the book once or twice)

•He laid in a bed for 20 years, letting his daughter and grandson do all the work to support them, even daring to COMPLAIN ("Maybe if the floor wasn't so cold...) about this situation, until a ticket to a candy factory turned up, and suddenly he can dance

•When he does have money, instead of giving said money to his daughter to help feed the family, he gives it to Charlie like "Go buy some candy, bc that'll fill you up 🥰"

•During the tour of the factory, instead of following the rules, he entices Charlie to break the rules, thus disqualifying Charlie from the contest, then has the gall to yell at and argue with Willy Wonka

In conclusion, Grandpa Joe is not just a Rat, but a Rat Bastard. A rat born outside of holy ratrimony.
