i feel a little embarrassed about my gay interpretation of That's What You Get (For Being Polite) now. i think his real intentions and meaning are pretty clear in that song. However, it's fun to have different interpretations of things even if they're 'wrong,' also can i just say that the gay interpretation is quite masterful and cohesive. and even going with how i think he meant all of it, "makes him buy things for the girls" i still think he threw in to make it vaguely about romantic relationships when it really wasn't

Swansea: kinda like there. Idk they don’t rlly interact. Alder is kinda scared of him cus I mean. Swansea is kinda scary. Swansea thinks Alder is kinda bitchy cus he’s not like Daisuke and outgoing so he stays away 😭

Jimmy: oof. Okay so Alder is Jimmy’s nephew (Jimmy sister son). Alder went on the ship due to the ties with co-captian. He really admires Jimmy due to the bitches narcissism and savior complex. Jimmy tells Alder, Alder is like ‘yup I believe u.’ Also Jimmy just kinda sucks cus Alder’s mom (his sister) needs money and Jimmy is like ‘well this is the only way wow haha… also more ppl I pull means more money and fame for me so.’ Alder just falls for the savior complex cus he’s autistic 😕

Curly: same with Jimmy just not as intense. Obvi Jimmy has eras where he’s like ‘I hate you curly nvm I lobve u.’ So Alder is confused, just eating the bs Jim tells him. However with the more interactions he has w curly, the more he understands him, so it’s mostly positive? Curly finds Alder presence kinda weird cus the subject of family on board is kinda kooky, but Jimmy is like ‘pweqseeee’ so he’s like okay fine.

Relashionships after crash: 

Anya: basically the same. However since the dire situation, he tries to protect her cus he is a feminist yuh. Anya is still scared and paranoid cus she’s like ‘??? Jimmy’s nephew so ofc he’s gonna be shit.’ So it’s kinda poopy.

Daisuke: same bromance, friendship is tighter they still share food UEEEUEEEUEE. Alder and Daisuke spent their last days playing on the Gameboy :((

Swansea: Alder realized how much of a reliable guy he is and starts to trust him. He ends up becoming one of his children(?) and follows him around, much to the dismay/pride of the older man. 

Jimmy: nothing changed, only the increasing codependency of Alder seeking assurance from his reliable authority figure and Jimmy needing more ‘minions’ to carry out his tasks. He even fucking hits Alder when the poor kid can’t get up due to dehydration. When Alder ends up dying to the alcohol poisoning Jimmy is the first to find out but hides it and is like ‘it was his fault he was drinking all the damn mouthwash.’ Even though he ordered Alder to??

Curly: Alder has such a negative impact on curly due to Jimmys lies. He doesn’t even go near curly, mostly creeped out by him. He hates the chewing of curly cus he’s autistic asf and usually stays clear

Main traits :

Autistic. He’s like that guy from watch dogs 2. He is smart, knows shit, but can’t pick up social cues for anything. He tries to joke but it ends up kinda lame tbh 😭😭 but yesh. He’s stoic and tries to remain calm, but ends up needed a lot of support. So ofc he goes to Jim, but Jimmy kinda just. Hates him so is like ‘ok fuck you go kill urself.’ And Alder usually spends time alone and meal times with Daisuke. 

Backstory: 

Mom was poor, couldn’t afford a lot. Had to rely on Jimmy for money cus they were only family. So Alder grew up mostly with mom and then she was like ‘love u but go spend time with ur uncle.’ And she also needed the money cus his little sister needed college money and Alder was like ‘I love u both brb.’ So he joins Jimmy and boom. Intern but kinda based for capstolsm oh yeah.

Story timeline: 

He kinda just exists b4 the crash, but after the crash he steps up to try and find a way back. His hope mostly dwindles due to the situation. Usually Alder stands watch at the cockpit due to Jimmys orders. After the Mouthwash incident, Jimmy urges Alder to test the mouthwash due to the due date being so soon. Alder of course agrees, but due to Jimmy’s urging and manipulation, he ends up getting alcohol poisoning and dies in the hallway to the cockpit. Of course everyone panics, but Jimmy is determined to ‘be the perfect guy yadayadayada’ so he decides to ‘take matters into his own hands’ and cover the body somewhere else.

Turning this into my fixed post because I NEED people to watch Batman Unburied! It's a Batman podcast with a great cast and an amazing narrative.

The mystery is well done and genuinally thrilling, the audience keeps on edge the whole time while we discover the things with the characthers and it all starts making sense.

The characthers are genuinally perfect. We have two leads, Bruce and Barbara and they are great. Winston Duke is giving his all and his perfomance is masterfull, his tone change is actually intimidating and he just gives soo much life to the characther. Duke performance makes the great writing for Bruce even better, Unburied has one of my favorite Batmans, you understand him and you want to be on his side and he cares soo much. He is a great complex characther and also a great hero and his moments of humanity are great. It doesn't work with Batman is the real man bs but with the real Bruce is a mix of both and he is amazing. Without entering in spoilers the way he is shown to genuinally care about everyone and how he process and deal with his trauma. Chef kiss.

And Barbara, oh Barbara, Gina Rodrigues mastered her exaspareted voice for this one and she did great (all the cast is perfect I can't say it enough). They basically done a mix of older Barbara (in age and in older comics) and Oracle and it makes her such a compelling characther. She is smart and determinated and a bit naive but also she will break the law to do the right thing, she will fasify signatures and hack databases and lie about working removing airplace crash debris. She does not know what rapport means and she is very autistic coding in my books. She is having an ACAB arc and it's an actual well done ACAB arc from the perspective of a cop. Also her dinamic with Riddler is masterfull.

Oh Riddler! Babygirl is a secondary characther working not as an antagonist but as a very annoying consultant to Barbara Gordon. He is a complete dick but he is shown to have genuine moments of compassion and doubts. He is not a good person but he is a great characther, the fact we have no idea what crimes he did beforehand does help. The tension with Barbara since he stabbed her dad (oh yeah a important thing about Riddler is that he stabbed Comissioner Gordon and it caused Gordon to retire) is also great. And he is just amazing. Hasan Minhaj is cleary having a blast and he does a great job of conveing emotion, specially with Riddler as this version of him, like most versions, is a showman and so it's interesting to see his vocal changes on the few moments he drops his act. Another thing is that Hasan actualy presents his riddles in a rhytimic maner, a thing I think most Riddlers unfortunally lack, he does sound like a riddle master doing that and overall it just sounds good.

Alfred is Alfred and that is the best compliment I can give him. He feels like Alfred.

The villain of the story, a new cannibal serial killer called the Harverster, is genuinally scary (and that is the point I saw Unburied has some disturbing moments and it's not for everyone and if you didn't whatch because it's themes are trigerring I respect that it is important to knkw when something isn't for you). He is creepy and the way he speaks feels a lot like a genuine real life serial killer (in contrast to the flashy villans like Riddler, King Tut or MadHatter).

And also I loved the plot twists and the ending was great.

I loved what they did to [redacted], it's honestly my favorite backstory for [redacted], it fits them soo well, it's basicaly my ultimate [redacted] backstory. Not only that but everything about them is great, the voice acting, the motivation, the end. Perfection.

How I feel about this character: OH he's such a bi disaster. But he's trying his best. Textbook himbo. Crushed under the weight of his father's expectations of him alot of the time. Probably struggles with self worth nowadays too,with the battles and family he's lost! Also he's very much like those memes abt dudes/dads where they'll mention some horrible childhood trauma and then have some funny song playing in their head like nothin even happened.! I feel like he cares very deeply for the friendships he's made and the found family he's gained with the warriors three [rip] and the avengers! Overall? Kind himbo who respects women and forgets how smart he is sometimes.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: honestly this is such a hard question cause im sure if u presented me with like,good reasons for most people then I'd be on board. But so far one of my Main ships for Thor rn is Bruce and Thor <3 GammaHammer makes me happy :} I've seen thor n valkyrie stuff too which is like aight they're all bi4bi t4t prolly,but honestly a polycule or some shit w Bruce Val and thor would be Inch resting :} I'm not sure tho! My unpopular opinion about this character: listen i know I just called him a himbo but he's smarter than people give him credit for I think. But also he's pretty cocky at times with his fighting ability and I feel like that's his greatest downfall. He tends to sorta think he can do everything on his own,and he doesn't rely on others until he really needs to and it ends up w him or his companions hurt :(

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.: ough I wish we could've gotten more time to see him experiencing earth stuff! In other like shows n such (like one of the animated series) its funny to see him interacting with mortals and I feel like we don't get that enough. Like sure we got the "another!" Scene and if you watched the YouTube mocumentary he obviously doesn't understand money or jobs. But it's still funny and I'd like to see him go "I don't understand what that means :D" like an optimistic puppy yknow :]

How I feel about this character: I feel like. They should do more w him in the mcu! But that's just bc im a kinnie ig but it makes me sad that he's just viewed as Steve's Sidekick when he's got a personality and works so well as Sam's partner in TFAWTS! I like the representation he can bring to the table though,regarding disability (I mean even though. He's an enhanced person but yknow.) And mental health! He also shows that your past doesn't need to define you and you CAN be free and work past old mistakes.! I feel like he's a little out of touch sometimes bc of the time shifts and mental stuff goin on,but I'm not saying it's a bad thing,its just compelling to meeee

All the people I ship romantically with this character: I USED to ship stevebucky I won't lie,but I much rather prefer SamBucky bc its just better LMAO Sam is much cooler than Steve in many regards and to me Sam is a better influence on Buckys life ig? Like. Idk how to explain it well enough but their banter is better and they compliment eachother rather than one of them taking the reigns all the time. I just like the level playing field where it still feels like Bucky can be a Sidekick but his partner at the same time rather than Just Bucky Barnes. Idk if that makes sense but !

My unpopular opinion about this character: I think bucky is sort of a dork actually. Alot of people make him very stoic and Winter Soldiery but that's. Not all he is! He's a complex person who's been used and weaponized and its annoying whenever people try to say he's a stoic person or whatever. Like no bro ur thinking abt the winter soldier. Ofc the winter solider was/is part of him and that doesn't just shut off but I think it's bs to boil him down to Killing Machine Assasinator Ooo Scary! When he was also a soldier during. Fucking Ww2! He was also like shown to be a bit of a dorky guy who liked to dance and be with chick's n shit lmao,like he mustve been a charmer. And even after,like during tfatws he's shown to still have bits of that personality. He messes around with Sam's nephews and offers help without prompting and just overall wants to live a more peaceful life while still managing to be social and humorous. ("How old are you anyways?" "106.") Anyways I think what I'm saying is ppl tend to forget to split him and tws.!

Like I wanna see him be bad at tech or be confused by new slang. Also wanna see him like, get annoyed at how the tech is where he's at vs. The wakandan tech. I also wish we could've actually seen how bucky Healed in Wakanda?? Like however he was helped yknow? Synopsis- Jaime Summers is a bartender who is involved in a near-fatal car crash with her scientist boyfriend. She wakes up in his lab, with three of her limbs, and eye and an ear replaced with bionic technology, to the news that she’s destined to become a secret super-soldier.

Medium- TV show, DVD

Entirety or episode?- Entirety

Overall verdict- I actually really like this, so naturally it was stalled by a Writer’s Guild strike and then eventually pulled after only eight episodes were made. Total BS. It’s good though, well worth watching. It has a lot of very decent female characters who have complex and interesting relationships that only rarely involve men. I found Jaime’s relationships with Sarah and with her sisters particularly engaging. The acting is good – I mean, I properly love Katee Sackhof and Michelle Ryan is a delight. I also love how Jaime and Becca actually look like sisters. There are lots of interesting points raised about male control of women, the notions of ownership and integrity and privacy. (I gotta say though, re the ‘spying through the eye camera’ I was immediately like – just wear a patch over that one eye? But maybe I’m just oversimplifying it.) Also, there are TONS of really badass fight scenes and it has a nice sci-fi-noir feel to it, like The Matrix or The Crow. It feels pretty dated, but in a good way because 2007 was a much nicer place than 2018.

Mark’s character- Anthony is only in two episodes. He was supposed to be a recurring character, but the show was pulled before his story arc got time to even get going. I am so irritated by this. He had such potential. Anthony is the father of Will, Jaime’s secretly-controlling, now-dead fiancé. He’s a super smart scientist-surgeon who founded the bionics company and then got thrown into jail for a very long time on charges of treason for trying to sell bionics to the highest bidder. My first thought was ‘Will’s meant to be 39 – no way is Anthony old enough to be his dad’ but in the initial prison scenes at least they aged Mark S up a bit... Like, he has grey in his hair throughout which I’m not gonna lie, is totally working for him. There’s also a lot of husky whispering going on, which isn’t unpleasant. It’s hard to really get a handle on where Anthony A stands in the whole morality of this show. He’s controlling, mean, manipulative, a bit creepy and a bit scary. But also very charming and very smart (y’know, basically the Mark Sheppard archetype) but I have a feeling he might have ended up not being a straightforward villain if he’d been developed a bit.

Highlight- The crash and the operation are actually pretty harrowing, but very well done (CW for loss of an unborn baby.) “A wolf only makes a good pet if it thinks it’s a dog” SHUDDER Everything about Sarah Corvis. She did her own bionic eye herself! “I’m cutting away all the parts of me that are weak.” GOALS. One of Sarah’s main concerns being that she can now smoke with not harm to her body #priorities “Not that I can feel anything, but I can intellectually imagine that that feels pretty dramatic” – that line looks kinda clunky written down, but the way Katee S delivers it is pure gold. Anthony’s creepy purring manipulation of Sarah to get her to get close to Jaime.
