Definitive “Furry or Not A Furry” Ranking of Every Glee Kid
Yeah.
Rachel - used to be a furry when she was younger and was looking for a community. grew out of it, thinks it was kind of cringey of her but appreciates the online friends she made
Finn - not a furry, but not super weirded out by them. would absolutely be a Bag Bitch at a con if Kurt and Sam needed help
Kurt - became a mild furry after Sam introduced him. he's not a suiter or artist but he sews suits/parts and accessories and makes bank selling. has a fursona (it's some kind of cat) that he commissioned Sam for
Mercedes - not a furry. does not understand furries. supports Kurt and Sam anyway
Tina - 100% a furry, but on the DL. she has a lot of online friends and gets sucked into drama in communities a bunch. sparkle dogs were made for Tina
Artie - furry by proxy. he likes to say he's into monsters and creatures but that's not true
Quinn - not a furry, thinks it's weird and gross bc she's uninformed, and even after she still is kinda like "eh..."
Puck - not a furry but reads furry nsfw comics. unfortunately probably one of the most informed on everything furry, even more than the actual furries
Santana - 0% furry.
Brittany - 100% furry. she’s obsessed with suiters and has a ton of OCs
Mike - not a furry, kinda uncomfy by it but in like, a normal "i just don't get it" way
Sam - the biggest furry. didn't have a lot of friends growing up, was really into niche sci fi and fantasy things, found solace online. fell into furry community easily, met a lot of LGBT people across the world (which is why he's so comfy with it). got big into art because of it, now a pretty well known artist. has a fursuit and plans to start making and selling them as a main source of income. he and Kurt table at cons together
Lauren - not a furry. furries are gross
Blaine - another former furry, basically in the same boat as Rachel. doesn't like to talk about it but still has a few friends from the community. 100% read Warriors. when he and Rachel "dated" the secret came out and they spent 2 hours ranting about the books and never spoke of it again
Dave - not a furry initially. had 0 idea what furries were actually. still not super a furry but in his attempt to be informed during the short PFFLAG stint Kurt brought it up, he got researching into it. he follows a few artists on twitter. he also commissions a fursona from Sam and has a small folder of fursona art now bc he wants to support people. fully embraces the community and likes that it’s a positive source of LGBT content and friendships for youth
Jesse - not a furry but like Puck, knows a surprising amount. thinks Rachel's past is endearing and encourages her to get back into it
Becky - former furry, definitely self-hating furry now. I think once she graduates and is out of a toxic environment w/ always being around Sue she would casually get back into it. 100% still checks on her Neopets
Rory - not a furry but his brother is so when he and Sam become close, Rory is really into talking about it.
Sugar - Schrodinger's furry. I literally can't tell if she's fully against furries or is an obnoxious furry
Joe - not a furry but "jesus didn't say anything about furries" so he doesn't care. maybe just don't yiff
Unique - furry! Unique started as a fursona when she was 10-11 and the persona carried on after
Sebastian - makes fun of furries until he realizes he can't be a good person and also bully a bunch of 12 year olds. still kinda gives Dave shit for it, but in a friendly way
Marley - not a furry but she was in a lot of creative communities so she was furry adjacent. doesn't really care, thinks their art and suits are cute
Jake - no.
Ryder - has a fursuit from when he was 12-13 that he begged his parents for. still can't get through holidays without his entire family roasting him. he definitely knows who Sam is and has been an avid follower
Kitty - NOT a furry. she cannot stress enough how much she is not a furry. she loves HORSES.
Brody - zero knowledge about furries. Rachel begs Kurt to not tell him about her past because she doesn't want him to know. Kurt continuously drops hints that go right over his head
Adam - learns about furries from Kurt. definitely teases him, lovingly Elliott - Not a furry but knows of them. Always loved the passion people put into it, and like Dave appreciates that it was always an LGBT friendly space for others
Dani - 0% furry. Probably made fun of them, actually. Santana kinda shuts that down eventually bc she saw how happy it made Britt
Roderick - doesn't really know much about furries and is kinda of "meh" because of it. would probably feel uncomfortable around a fursuiter but is nice enough to kinda just let people live
Jane - another former furry. Warrior Cats girl. she still gets emotional thinking about feathertail's death. she never got into the "furry" community but was definitely involved in a lot of Warriors and wolf OC roleplays
Mason - furry adjacent, because:
Madison - aggressive furry. constantly getting in drama online and off. she and Tina have definitely fought before online. though she is very active in calling out scammers and abusers so people forgive her aggressiveness because she also does a lot of good. she has like 70 characters
Spencer - not a furry, but much like Roderick, lets people be. slightly more skeeved, definitely will make uncomfortable jokes about it
Alistair - doesn't know much from furries other than general memes and stuff, will kind of joke about them but thinks they don't deserve as much hate as they get
Myron - idk honestly he's just a fucking wildcard

To Distant Lands...
It has been quite a journey.
I have been a fan of Adventure Time for over ten years. But it wasn’t a great start.
Foolish 12 year old me disliked it at first glance just because I wasn’t used to the art style and didn’t take it seriously. I ignored it for almost a year. Then on one faithful day in my tutor’s house, I watched the newly aired episode Mystery Train with her kids.
I was... charmed by it.
This new kind humor spoke to me and I... actually wanted to see more of it. Of course at first I was in denial for a bit but I got over that quickly. So from then on whenever I see it play on Cartoon Network I wouldn’t skip it anymore. I began to look forward to more episodes until I noticed that this series had an overarching plot.
The episodes that I thought were one-shot had purpose. Not all of them are great but they were satisfying for the most part. Like pieces of a puzzle being slowly formed over the years. When I got used to going online I started watch every single episode until I got to the latest. I would wait every week for a new one to drop.
Not everything was all sunshine and rainbows however. Around the mid seasons I thought that the plot was dragging, that the writing became pretentious in some episodes. I began to lose my love for it after 3 years by that point. So I just became a casual viewer.
It took 2 years for me to get back on going crazy over Adventure Time again and by then I was already 18 years old. But I was never ashamed by loving cartoons and my peers were also obsessed with this show so I had no problem getting back on track.
I know that they use storyboards to tell their stories and that writing was secondary. It’s a very risky way of creating a show. But for some reason it kind of works with a show Adventure Time.
A world were the unpredictable happens, a world were your own imagination is the limit.
The songs were always such a treat. They may sound simple but that’s what makes them so memorable and heartfelt. They capture the moments where the situations are laid out. The way they were made sounded on the spot and incorporated what the characters felt at the time has a touch of realism.
I will forever be astounded with the way they incorporated Jake’s powers. The ways the spells, the jokes and the characters work and being alive. The Land of Ooo has infinite possibilities. I love all of that jazz.
But what I love most about this show were the characters and their relationships.
Sure they’re zany but the situations they find themselves in still felt real no matter how ridiculous they got. There were moments when everything suddenly just made sense and I just began to feel for them.
Marceline was a character that I felt infatuated with the first episode I saw her in. It was when she was ‘helping’ Finn ‘woo’ PB into going to movies with him. I was like “Who’s this vampire chick and why is she so fun?”
Yeah I liked her, but I never thought that I would fall in love with the immortal known as The Vampire Queen.
Marceline is just a tragically beautifully written character. And the show has done something I never thought they would do: Address how being an immortal affected her and other people.
This silly looking cartoon has tackled topics regarding existential crisis and put with a lot of thought on it and I live for that. What Marceline felt when she lost the people she loved over the years, how messed up her whole situation was. She didn’t know what to do and instead dedicated her life in killing vampires because she wanted to protect the memory of only one person she had left who couldn’t even be with her. It was so heartbreaking.
Never had my younger self thought that Marcy would have relationship with Simon. When I saw the still image of them when I was about to watch Remember You I was psyched. Many scenarios were flowing in my head before I clicked the play button. I thought I was ready but I was so wrong. That episode was the first episode that made me cry watching this series. Afterwards I always looked forward to Simon and Marcy interactions.
I felt the utter hopelessness when Simon was declining onwards to becoming the Ice King we’ve always seen but never really known.
But even in his maniacal state, there was a semblance of the Simon who loved his Betty and Marcy with all his heart. It could be called hopeful but it could also be cruel. And that is the beauty of this tragedy.
Immortality will mess anyone up and they all cope it with different ways.
Princess Bonnibel Bubblegum is another immortal but had different priorities. She already had a goal set in mind and went through with it with almost no hesitation. She committed numerous acts with questionable morals in mind. She pushed everyone away and just focused on her kingdom. In her own way, she was winging it.
Her way of thinking clashed with Marceline and it was all the wrong timing for them. Her closest friend’s care for strangers was already almost nonexistent and she herself was too stressed.
In the process of finding their purpose and having the weight of responsibilities on their shoulders and just living, these two have lost themselves and are just so tired and broken.
This is one of the main reasons why I ship Bubbline. They are so different yet they understand each other in an unspeakable level. The lost moralities they had were slowly gained when they found each other. And it wasn’t even immediate. There were so many ups and downs with their relationship and it took them centuries to figure it out. Even in the present they’re still figuring it out but now they are healing and that’s what matters.
And let’s not forget the titular characters.
Finn and Jake’s brotherly bond is one of my most favorite things in all of the fictional media I have consumed. Because going through reincarnation together and being with each other for all eternity is literally the definition of their love not knowing any bounds.
Together Again was the perfect send off for Adventure Time. And while they’re brotherhood isn’t flawless like Jake not always being the best role model but he’s always there for his brother and Finn would do anything for the people he loves. They have went through so many things together, good and bad.
Their bond is unbreakable.
Finn’s breakdowns in losing his best friend was so painful to watch and I cannot help myself but cry for what these brothers have lost. I know people have to let go but maybe we don’t have to “let go” let go, you know? So imagine my surprise and delight when Jake decided to join his brother and said these very words:
“Because it’s great being alive with you.”
That sentence broke my soul into a million pieces and restored it at the same time. I just bursted into tears the second I heard that. It was so simple yet one of the most touching lines I have ever heard in my life.
This show had so much heart that it’s overflowing. The bonds that these characters have for each other. It has brought me so much tears of sadness and joy. It broadened my imagination for the unknown. The creativity of this series is absolutely outstanding.
I was the same age as Finn when the show started so you could say I grew up with him and the show. I wasn’t young enough for it to be a part of my childhood but it was there for me till I reached adulthood. And I think that it’s much better that way. It did help me grow up and let me see that there are a lot of things that while everything stays, they still change.
Adventure Time’s had a lot of messages strewn over its seasons and always had a melancholic vibe to it.
That’s life... and that’s okay.
It may get ugly and terrifying but Adventure Time has told me to just live.
Sing, dance, cry and laugh. Something simple as hanging out with family and friends has so much meaning in the grand scheme of things. Life goes on and things will seem to be familiar yet foreign at the same time. Linger on nostalgia, but also appreciate what’s happening in the present and look forward to what will happen in the future.
I am so grateful to have been on this wonderful adventure.
Like what they always said:
The fun never ends.

✧・゚( hermes + tom holland + male aligned non-binary ) 𝒎𝒂𝒎𝒎𝒂 𝒎𝒊𝒂 !! have you seen ( phineas “finn/phin” schmidt ) around ? ( he/they ) have been in kaos for ( five months ). the ( twenty three ) is a ( travel blogger & archeology student ) from ( london, england ). people say they can be ( deceitful ) but maybe that’s not too bad ‘cause they can also be ( garrulous ). whenever i think of them, i can’t help but think of ( an ever present leather satchel whose contents are a mystery; mischievous grins, sticky fingers and a tuft of hair that just won’t stay down & an undying sense of adventure ). ・゚✧ ( penned by maeve, 21, cst, she/her ).
i. about your character.
in his youth he got into trouble for stealing and what always troubled his parents was that he never seemed to offer up any sort of reasoning, he’d just shrug and utter a fake apology and turn around and do it again. later on this would be recognized as kleptomania, for which he has attempted treatment but nothing ever seemed to work.
school has always been difficult for finn as he lacks the attention and dedication required to be successful in a classroom. and while he longs to one day become an archeologist, he has taken a break from his studies to focus on his blog. but this wasn’t easy, and he struggled to become successful.
in fact, in a moment of desperation, he turned to his skills as a thief for survival. to be specific, he became an art thief stealing from the rich and selling to the richer. it wasn’t ideal but it paid the bills, and the profit even allowed him to finance his travels.
having built up quite a significant nest egg, phineas has made a conscious effort to leave the world of thievery behind but it’s unlikely that he’s out of the game completely.
going by the name of phindiana jones, phineas is the man behind a fairly popular adventure blog. through this he documents his various adventures, from the search for forrest fenn’s treasure to traveling through the amazon jungle. his journeys arent for the faint of heart as he’s often found himself in dangerous situations. but that’s why he does it.
one day he plans on settling down and going back to school, or perhaps opening up his own museum but for now he’s content with his life of adventure. though he will admit it gets lonely from time to time.
this loneliness is part of the reason he’s come to kaos, seeking a home of sorts. while he’s not one to stay put, it makes for a nice home base from which he can leave to take part on various journeys. though, lately, he’s been leaving less and less.
he’s built a reputation as a prankster and mischief maker around the island, constantly pulling practical jokes on his companions. and while most of them are harmful, he’s been known to get carried away.
ii. details.

Luck O’ the Irish || Hudrose
Who: Finn Hudson and @longhornmarley
Where: UT Campus, Finn’s dorm room
When: March 17th, 2020
Notes: Not really wanting to go to a party after being stood up, they decide to host a pity party for themselves and shenanigans ensue... NSFW
Finn
Finn wasn't in a good mood. He had had plans to go to the beach with his girlfriend but for no reason, she'd canceled at the last second, leaving him with a packed suitcase but nowhere to go. The walk back to his dorm was long but he'd managed to find a few of his friends who had invited him to a party on Tuesday night, an invitation he had readily accepted. For now he just wanted to sleep the last few hours away. That Tuesday had started off great and he was already feeling a buzz from the pity party he'd thrown himself that day so the idea of going to a party with girls and alcohol seemed like a great one. He grabbed some clothes from his suitcase and threw them on, not caring if they matched. He left his room and headed across campus towards his destination, his mouth already watering at the thought of vodka shots and jello shooters.
Marley
How ridiculous could Marley be? She should've known Declan would've cancelled on her. He always did it seemed lately. The two were gonna go on a trip for spring break and she was gonna see for once where this was going to go. She was tired of playing games and while she enjoyed the extra money coming in, she wanted something real. And now it was like a nail closing the coffin. Maybe it truly was time to end things with him. In a weak moment, she had called her ex, Jake, and the two talked. He was one who knew her pretty well and maybe he could have some insight. Though, she should never actually listen what the boy said about anything. After making plans for him to come down in the next few days so they could 'properly talk', she hung up and headed out to go get ice cream. She was gonna need it. As she walked through campus, she saw someone familiar heading towards her and she put on a fake smile. "Finn, hey." She said as they got closer to each other.
Finn
The jock was off in his own world, hands holding imaginary sticks as they pounded away at invisible drums, the song in his head keeping him from noticing all the stares from people as he walked past. He didn't care, the beat was sick and he was in the zone. So much so that he almost missed it when a voice broke through his solo. He opened his eyes even though he didn't need to bother, he had grown accustomed to hearing it lately that it was already familiar. "Marley, hey. What are you doing here? I thought you were heading out of town?" He asked, stepping in line next to her. "I'm on my way to a party. You wanna come?"
Marley
She watched him as he seemed to be jamming out to the music. If she was honest, she found it really cute, but that shouldn't have been something to focus on right now. She wasn't in the right place to be thinking that. Or was she? She was honestly confused by it all. "Oh, um, I was. But things changed. Got cancelled." She sighed and rubbed her neck. "A party? Sure. I thought you were leaving too." She said and looked into his eyes.
Finn
Seeing Marley and talking to her was becoming a favorite of his. She was funny and smart and she didn't treat him like an idiot, which was always something to appreciate. "Oh. Well that sucks. My plans changed too. Apparently she is staying home until this virus passes so looks like I'll be spending Spring Break at school." He shook his head, shoulders shrugging as the absurdity of his situation. "You know what? Let's go. A party surrounded by happy couples and horny frat guys isn't where you or I need to be right now. Let's go grab some bottles from our roommates and have a pity party in my room."
Marley
Her smile went down. She felt bad that his plans got cancelled too, but maybe in some way they were supposed to spend this night together? Or was she just trying to find a plus side to the sadness? "I'm sorry. People seem to be going crazy about that, don't they?" She said and took a breath. "Just you and I does sound better than being around everyone. I don't want to pretend to be happy." She thought for a moment. "I don't think there are any bottles in my room so I may not be helpful. However I have money and can give it to you to buy some?"
Finn
If Finn believed in fate, he would think she was playing a game with his life and his emotions. Instead of spending time with who the universe expected him to, he saw more of his tutor than anyone else and somehow Finn was okay with that. He couldn't explain why exactly but if he was having to spend Spring Break away from home, at least he had Marley for company. "I don't see why they need so much toilet paper!" He laughed, looking over at her and grinning. "People are crazy." He nodded, spinning around on his heels a bit to quickly, his head spinning momentarily. "We can head up to the store yeah. But put your money away, this was my idea so I'm buying. If we run out, you can buy next round." After he had regained control, the two of them headed off towards the liquor store.
Marley
Marley couldn't help but laugh at his exclamation and nodded. "I know. I think my roommate may be doing that. I don't know if I can handle being at my place all break." She laughed softly as she looked over at him. She watched him and stopped as he talked. "If you're sure. Maybe we can order food and I can pay for that." She suggested as they walked a different way now that they were going to the store.
Finn
"I can kind of see it because on the one hand if you're isolating yourself inside, you're going go need toilet paper but they're acting like they're going to have explosive diarrhea all day and that's just stupid." He said, shaking his head. It was something he had been keeping an eye on but he wasn't going to let it dictate his break. "We can definitely get some food. What're you thinking? Pizza? Tacos?" Conversing with her was easy and before they knew it, they heard arrived at the store. Gathering up all the supplies they'd need, and letting Marley buy their dinner, they left the store, falling right back into that casual conversation as if not time had passed. "So music huh? What made you decide on that?"
Marley
"Yeah, but it's like people forget showers and wash rags don't exist. You can easily wash yourself or those. I wonder if that's what people did while Rick was asleep on The Walking Dead." She laughed softly again. She shrugged. "Either. Both. I'm good with anything. Though, Taco Bell sounds good always." She smirked at him as she started looking at apps on her phone to get them food. She liked being with him. It was already more comfortable than most people she spent so little time with. "I like to sing and I don't know. I want to try to make it in the industry, but I don't know if I will. I don't think I'm that good."
Finn
"Okay you just became like ten times cooler by knowing who Rick Grimes is." He teased, a playful laugh falling from his lips. The best thing about meeting new people was getting to know them. Sometimes it felt forced, like an obligation you didn't want, but with Marley, everything was easy. It was something Finn wasn't used too but he was thankful regardless. "I'm behind a season or two so I know Rick left the show but I don't know what happened." As he waited for her to order food, he pondered her words and couldn't help the small chuckle that surfaced again. "If you didn't think you were good, you wouldn't have picked it for a major. I picked mine because it seemed the easiest option but if you love something, nothing will stop you."
Marley
She couldn't help but grin and shrug. "I read the comics and watched most of the show." Marley said proudly. "I haven't watched since the whole thing happened with Carl. I barely know what's happening right now." She ordered their food and put in Finn's address so maybe it would be there by the time they got there. "I guess so. The whole thing makes me nervous. I want to show off my talent, but I feel like I'm barely able to here. What is that going to mean when I'm out in the world? Will anyone listen to me?" She sighed before shaking her head. "Sorry. That kind of got too deep."
Finn
"A girl who likes zombie shows and comic books? Are you even real?!" He shouted, pinching her skin playfully as they walked side by side. "I think we should finish the show together. Or at least until the current season. Wow, trying to get Heather to watch anything with me is like pulling teeth. It's all Housewives and the Kardashians." He scoffed, rolling his eyes. "I got blackmailed into joining my high school Glee club after the teacher heard me singing in the shower.... that sounded strange, but the point is, I was good enough for them so I mean, if you need a partner for karaoke night or just as a backup singer to help you shine, I'm volunteering to help. It's the least i can do."
Marley
She laughed as he pinched her skin. "Yes. I even like superhero stuff." She smirked at him. "I'm pretty chill, I think. I don't see why some girls are into that. It's not my thing. I'd definitely like to catch up on the show with you." Marley smiled and looked over into his eyes. "Really? You would like to sing with me?" She was actually surprised. She didn't get many solos or duets in the glee club now, but definitely wanted to always prove how good she was. "You are too sweet. Are you real?" She asked and pinched him back.
Finn
"You're like my version of the perfect girl." He laughed, shaking his head. "I mean you like superheroes and comic books. You're not afraid to eat tacos... WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?!" The jock shouted, garnering a few looks from the people scattered around them but Finn didn't care about them. For the first time in his young life, public opinion meant nothing to him. "We have to make this a weekly thing. We pick a day that works best for us both and we watch as many as we can. Deal?" He asked, holding out his hand for her to shake. "Of course I will. I'm sure you're going to outshine me and in this case, that's what I want you to do." His nose crinkled as they finally seemed to make it back to the dorms. "Owww! My throwing arm!" He feigned injury and laughed, ushering her inside before anyone noticed.
Marley
A blush filled Marley's cheeks as he said that. No one had ever referred to that before. "Shh." She said as she looked around and blushed more. "I'm sure other girls are like me. I'm nothing special." She put herself down. "That would be nice. It would be a nice break from everything and we can get caught up fast." She smiled at him as she walked inside his dorms. "Oh, please. I could barely hurt a fly let alone you."
Finn
Finn couldn't help but raise a brow at her obvious cut down and he shook his head. "Hey none of that. You're awesome. I haven't known you long but you're pretty great. I'm sure there are other girls out there that are like you but I'm not talking to them, am I? Don't cut yourself down. I'm just telling you what I've observed so far. Take the compliment. Please." He smirked, nodding his head when she agreed to his demands. "Its a date. Well, not like a date date but you know, a date. Friendly date among... friends..." He trailed off, rolling his eyes at himself before closing the door behind himself once they were inside. "You're right. I was teasing. I mean, did you even pinch me? I couldn't feel anything."
Marley
She blushed and shook her head. "You're sweet, but I'm really not. And I'm okay with that. I like being a wallflower." She said and looked into his eyes. "But thank you. I appreciate you saying all that." She smiled and looked at him. "A friendly date is perfect. It'll be nice to have something to look forward to." Marley laughed and shook her head. "Shut up." She playfully pushed him.
Finn
"Can I be honest with you Marley? I've never been a fan of all the popularity that I've received. I find it confusing and chaotic. I mean, one mistake and you're getting slushies to the face but then you do something else and you're back on top. There were many times when I considered giving it all up because I just want to be normal, you know? I don't want to be known as 'the jock' or be defined by the girls I date. I've always been envious of the wallflowers because they're kind of who I feel more connected too and who deep down, I'd like to be." He confessed with a shrug. "So I look forward to learning from you on how to be a wallflower." He teased, holding the door open for her as they walked inside and up to his room.
Marley
She looked into his eyes as he said that. It was nice to hear someone didn't care about all that stuff. Maybe they were soulmates or something. But she couldn't think like that. Not right now. He had someone and she kind of did too. This was just a friend thing. "Thanks, Finn. I really appreciate all that. I've struggled with things like that for a long time and it's nice to know you don't follow all that." She told him as they went up to his room. "I guess we beat the food." She commented and smiled at him.
Finn
"Of course, Marls. What are friends for?" He said, his nose crinkling as he held the door to his dorm room open. He heard the buzzer, a sound indicating that someone needed to be let in and he laughed. "Speaking of food. Please make yourself comfortable and I'll be right back." He knew she had already paid for the food but Finn knew the building better than she did and he didn't want her to get lost. After meeting the delivery man outside, and paying the fee and tip, he carried all the food back upstairs, knocking on the door in case Marley was in the bathroom or something. "I'm coming in! I hope you're decent." The jock joked, before entering and laying the food on the table. "How much did you order?! There's enough for four people here."
Marley
She smiled happily at him as she walked inside his room and looked around. It was nice and seemed very much like Finn. She was going to say something just was the buzzer rang and she nodded. "Okay. I'll be here." She smiled and watched him go before she kicked off her shoes and sat down. She couldn't believe this was how her break was going so far, but she liked it already. Maybe it was good she stayed in Texas. She looked up as she heard the knock on the door and laughed as he entered. "Do you think I just get naked or something in people's homes?" She asked jokingly before shrugging. "I covered the basics. Besides, if we're drinking, we'll be hungry at random times and there will still be food."
Finn
"I didn't mean it like that!" He yelled, shouting over the sound of the music coming from next door. "I just meant like if you were in the bathroom or something. I don't know why I said decent, it was the first word that popped into my head." He grinned, putting the food on the counter. He nodded his head in her direction and laughed. "That's very smart. I never would have thought of that and then I would have been arrested by campus police for trying to break into the 7-11 because I got hungry." Pulling each item out of the bag, he opened it to identify what it was before grabbing a couple of forks for the two of them. "Do you want a beer or some wine? I don't have much else seeing as how I wasn't planning on entertaining tonight but you're welcome to whatever is in there."
Marley
She laughed as he shouted and nodded. "Sure you didn't." She teased him as she watched him get some food for them. "I would've tried to stop you from doing that. Especially when a lot of places are open all night." She laughed softly and just kept watching him. "Anything is fine with me. What did you get at the liquor store?" She asked as she sat crisscross applesauce on his couch.
Finn
"Well your head might explode if I had said that I did mean it so..." He smirked, shrugging his shoulders as he walked past her and into the kitchen. Hearing that she would have stopped him made him laugh and he nodded. "I'm sure you would have. You might be tiny but I've no doubt you're strong." The junior laughed, coming back into the living area holding two bottles. "I got two cases of beer and a bottle of wine. Its supposed to be for the barbecue but I'm not sure if that's still going to happen with the flu going around."
Marley
"So you did?" She smirked and raised her eyebrow as she looked at him. "We don't even know each other that well." She teased and watched him closely. "I can be." Marley flexed her arm muscles she barely had. "See." She grinned and laughed. "Well, I can give you money to buy back whatever we drink." She told him and smiled. "I'm good with anything to start with."
Finn
"This time, no. It was a slip of the tongue. Scouts honor." He held up two fingers before smiling at her. "I was never a scout but I promise I wouldn't lie. I had no expectations other than having a fun night with my friend." He explained, watching when she flexed. "Nice. If you ever want to make those bigger, join me in the gym and we can get you on some weights." When she insisted she pay him, he shook his head. "No you won't. These idiots don't need this much alcohol anyway. It'll be fine."
Marley
"Oh, so how can I take that as scout's honor if you were never one?" She teased him. "That's all I have as expectations as well." She laughed as she flexed and put her arms down. "I go to the gym quite often, actually, but we can do something. I'm always down for that." She gave him a look. "If you're sure, but the offer is there. I don't want you to pay for everything."
Finn
They had decided to watch something on Netflix but they had been drinking so much that he barely remembered the title of it or anything that happened in it. They had ended up mostly laughing and playing drinking games until they couldn't anymore. Now, they were laying on the floor of his room, the air conditioning on full blast as they tried to calm themselves down. "I haven't laughed that hard in so long. My sides are killing me, Marls. Who knew you were this funny?"
Marley
Marley never got this drunk. Hell, she never had this much to drink. A buzz here and there in high school, but never something like this. But she liked having this moment with Finn. She liked laughing and trying to breath as they laid in his room with tears streaming down her eyes from laughing too hard. She took a deep breath as he spoke and she poked him. "Hey, I am always this funny. People just don't get my humor." She smirked at him and looked into his eyes. "I haven't clicked like this with someone in a long time."
Finn
"Its because it goes over their head. Your jokes are too smart for the average bear." He laughed, shifting his body so he was facing her. "You haven't? I want to be all like 'yay!' because that means you like me but also, I feel bad that you haven't met anyone as awesome as me before." The jock teased her again before laughing. "But yes, I feel the same. You're not like the other nerds. You're crazy hot but also really smart."
Marley
"Good thing you're more than average." She smiled at him and watched as he moved so they were now just staring at each other. "I like having you. You're definitely worth the wait of meeting someone awesome." She assured him before laughing too only because his was so infectious. "Thank you? I guess I kinda have a sexy librarian thing going on." She said and let her hair down to do some weird sexy move with her hair that made her laugh more.
Finn
"That's the nicest thing anyone's ever said to me!" He shouted, nodding his head before resting his chin on his arms. "Well you can have me whenever you want, Marls. I'm not in demand right now so we can spend as much time together as we want." He added, reaching out to grab her hand. "Just call me Captain Awesome." His head nodded and he smiled at her at her next words, wiggling his eyebrows. "Oh definitely. I might have to start making it a part of my routine. St...stopping by the library I mean." He was distracted as he watched her let her hair down, taking the opportunity to scan her body, suddenly wondering what she looked like naked.
Marley
"That can't be true. You're an amazing guy and I'm sure you get loads of compliments." She smirked at him. "You're not in demand? So you can spend all your time with a little old nerd like me?" She teased and her heart jumped as he took her hand. She looked down at their hands and rubbed his skin with her thumb before back at him. "Yeah? I'd like to see more of you. There. More of you at the library." She said and stared at him. "I'm sure the librarian thing is better without my glasses." She said softly while looking at his lips.
Finn
"Just because you think I'm amazing doesn't mean everyone else does." He admitted with a shrug. "I've been called an asshole, an idiot, retarded and it really hurts. So I don't know, hearing nice things that don't have to do with my football skills is really nice." He hadn't meant to get sentimental but he needed her to know just how much her words meant to him. "Yep. All the time in the world." He smirked, nodding his head. "So lets make it a habit then. I'll have to get you to give me a tour though because I don't know where anything is." Her statement found him shaking his head as he leaned in closer to remove them. "I mean you're hot either way but the glasses definitely add to the fantasy."
Marley
"Well, they should. Because it's true." She said and stared at him. Her heart ached at him being called these things and she reached out to touch his cheek. "You're none of those things. Anyone who says you are obviously has no idea who you are." She told him and smiled. "Good to know there's hope for me." She laughed before nodding. "A tour you shall have. I can even make a map." She teased and let him take her glasses off. She could see mostly fine. She usually wore them to read but got used to wearing them more than contacts. "You really think I'm hot?"
Finn
Finn just smiled at her words, leaning into her touch as he felt the mood of the room shift. Or it had for him. Instead of laughing and having a good time, and despite the alcohol coursing through his bloodstream, he was fighting the urges that he was thinking about in his head. "I'm yours whenever you want me, Marley." He whispered, eyes drifting down to her lips. He propped himself up on an elbow and scooted closer to her, their noses inches apart. He really shouldn't be doing this but he wanted too. "100 percent." He complimented, bringing his hand up to her face, thumb grazing her lip for a second before he took a chance and closed the distance between them.
Marley
Everything changed quickly. Neither were laughing but now were very focused on each other. She watched him closely and her heart started racing as he said he was hers. Part of her knew what he meant, but that didnt stop the feelings arising. No one had ever said that to her. "And if I always want you?" She asked him softly. She moved closer as he did and leaned into his touch. As their lips met, she closed her eyed and pressed a passionate kiss into his lips.
Finn
"Then I'll be there." If he were sober, he would never have said these words to her, not that he didn't think she was attractive because she was but because he didn't want to give her false hope. With his on again off again relationship, he couldn't really get involved with anyone seriously, even if that is exactly what he wanted. But luckily for him, he wasn't sober and saying these things meant everything in the moment. When she returned the kiss, he shifted himself on top of her, breaking the kiss briefly to adjust themselves more comfortably on the floor. Grazing his thumb across her cheek, he tucked a strand of hair behind her ear before kissing her once again, this time rougher and more wanton.
Marley
The words made her heart flutter. She knew if the alcohol wasn’t flowing through her system, she never would've done this. She didn't do these things with Declan and she barely did them with her ex. Sure, she lost her virginity to him but that was different. They were together longer and she thought she was in love. She barely knew Finn and while she was definitely starting to like him, she wasn't one to do this. She sighed as their lips parted and she looked up at him as he moved to be on top of her. Looked up at him and smiled as he moved her hair before she met his kiss again and released a moan into it.
Finn
The moan that slipped out of her mouth sent a shiver up his spine and he shuddered, thankful that the kiss was hiding the flush of his cheeks. He had never been confident in his skills, had never really been with anyone since high school, and she had made him feel like shit when it was over, so his confidence in his skills was almost nonexistent. He was suddenly very glad that they were both drunk so that she wouldn't be disappointed in him when it was over. His fingers hesitantly trailed down to the hem of her shirt, lifting it up as he grazed the soft skin on her belly.
Marley
The feeling of his hand on her bare skin made chills go through her body. Her heart was beating like crazy and she could only think of wanting more from him. Wanting only him. She kissed him deeper as a hand tangled into his hair while the other ran along the sides of his shirt.
Finn
When he felt her fingers in his hair, he shivered, his body reacting exactly as it had way back in high school. It was a turn on for him and he couldn't help but moan into the kiss, fingers working her shirt higher and higher... he took a chance and sat her up before pulling her shirt over her head, tossing it to the side before removing his own. He allowed himself a moment to take in her form, his breath hitching slightly. "You're beautiful babe." He whispered, leaning in to kiss her again before guiding her back down to the floor.
Marley
Hearing him moan into the kiss turned her on more than it probably should've. She felt his fingers going up her skin and when he lifted her up, she helped him remove her shirt before watching him do his own. She looked over his chest and stomach and smiled up at him as he said she was beautiful. "And you're handsome." She said and kissed him back as she moved back to the floor. Her hands trailed down the skin of his bare back and back up softly.
Finn
Her nails teasing his skin caused goosebumps to pop up over his skin, the sensations quickly overwhelming his body. It had been so long since anyone had touched him like this and it all felt so good. Breaking the kiss to her lips, they trailed along her jawline ad down to her neck where he nipped and sucked the soft flesh. His hands caressed her body and down around to her waist where he fumbled for the button of her jeans, finally working it open, the zipper falling open with little pressure. It wasn't fluid, or perfect, but he managed to push them down and away from her body.
Marley
She sighed happily as he started kissing her jawline and making little marks on her skin. She moaned happily and lifted her hips to help him to take off her pants. Her own hands moved to his front and started to undo the button and zipper there. She was nervous, yes, but she was wanting him more by the second.
Finn
Once they were both down to their undergarments, he realized just how much he couldn't hide his body. He had always had body issues and now knowing that Marley could see it, he would have been self conscious had they not been too drunk to care. His lips left her neck after leaving several marks there, a sign of their activity that would be hard for her to disguise. He placed tentative marks along her collarbone, nipping at the flesh extended above the cup of her bra. Nimble fingers easily worked the clasps to free it from her body, his tongue swirling around the nipple briefly while he worked her panties down and away from her body.
Marley
He was amazing. She was definitely enjoying his body and the way he was kissing her and leaving marks all over. A moan left her lips as he swirled his tongue around her nipple and lifted her hips again to let him take off her panties. The chill from the air conditioner hit her and she suddenly felt very exposed. She was never like this in front of anyone and she was unsure if he would like her body. She bit her lip as she looked up at him and her hands move to take off his boxers so they would both equally naked.
Finn
Being naked in front of Marley, the cold air hitting his bare ass, felt both good and weird. This was a huge step for the two of them and they were both drunk and probably wouldn't remember it in the morning, which was something Finn didn't want to think about. He left feather light kisses down her body, first her breasts and then her belly, tongue swirling around her navel. His dick was hard and he knew he was ready. Scaling back up her body, he pressed his lips to her once more before lining up at her entrance, eyes locking with her. "Are... are you sure?"
Marley
The kisses down her body was sending her through the roof. She was more turned on than she had been ever and she looked up at him as he lined himself up. Marley was more than ready for this. She may regret how this happened, but she wouldn't have regretted being with Finn. "Yes. Please." She begged as she spread her legs wider for him.
Finn
Seeing her mannerisms and hearing that she wanted it, he nodded, kissing her again before grabbing his dick and guiding himself inside her wet folds. It felt so good and he whined into her mouth. She was tight but still allowed him room to fit comfortably inside, almost like two puzzle pieces. He sat inside her for a brief second to give her time to adjust to him before slowly moving his hips.
Marley
She took a deep breath as he entered inside her and it out into the kiss. She touched his cheek and looked up into his eyes before smiling and nodding at him for him to move. The slowness was nice. It was like he fit perfectly inside her and hit all the right places. "Finn..." A moan left her lips and she moved her body towards his.
Finn
He smiled down at her, touching her cheek softly before leaning in to kiss her, his hips starting to pick up speed. Now that he was inside her, and he could feel her getting wetter and more into the act, his body reacted of its own accord, his alcohol riddled brain telling him to speed up. But he didn't. He stayed at the steady pace he was at, hips burning already. His whispered name leaving her lips sent a chill straight up his back and down to his dick. He moaned, eyes slamming shut as he pushed further inside her.
Marley
She kissed him back only for a whimper to leave his lips as he sped up. Her eyes closed as he kept going and she panted with every move. With the sudden push deeper inside her, she let out a loud whine and her nails dug into his skin. Her legs locked around him tightly and she pushed herself against him for more.
Finn
Her nails digging into his skin caused him to whine but he kept going, knowing that it would be worth it in the end. Leaving marks on the other person was normal and to be honest, Finn liked it. It meant he was doing a good job. He was close, could feel the pressure inside, and he stopped kissing her, his blue eyes staring into hers. He sped up his hips, face contorting before he spoke. "Marley I'm close."
Marley
She held him tight as they kept moving together. She hadn't felt pleasure like this before and she really didn't want it to end. It felt perfect and she released little whines to let him know just how good this all was. She sighed as he stopped kissing her and looked up at him as moved faster now. "Okay. Just keep going. Please." She begged him; wanting to get to that point herself. She knew it was close, she could feel it, and she wanted to experience with him.
Finn
Finn wanted to hold on as long as he could, wanted them both to seek the kind of pleasure they'd both been missing so he pushed himself further, his lips kissing her hard while his hips burned and throbbed. He hadn't realized just how out of shape he was until now but he swallowed down the pain and kept going like she wanted, fingers ghosting over her skin and down between her legs while his lips broke the kiss and trailed down to her neck, nipping at the soft flesh before sucking on it.
Marley
She kissed him back and moaned into his mouth. It was growing harder to hold back any sounds and she started to make louder ones; especially when his lips went to her neck. A hand moved up to his hair and she grabbed it tight before she knew her release was coming. "Finn... now. Please. Now." She begged him as she felt the wave of pleasure take over her.
Finn
Her moans and whimpers for him sent another chill up his spine and the tightness in his belly to become unbearable. Holding her tighter, he continued biting her neck, his fingers playing with her clit as she panted quicker and begged for him. As soon as he felt her fingers grip his hair, he cried out her name before releasing deep inside her, his cum coating her walls.
Marley
The pleasure was just pulsing through her as he rubbed her clit. Her sounds were getting louder and louder and she gripped his hair and back with her fingers as he cried out her name. Her walls pulsed around him and she whimpered as her body started to slowly come down for her high while still feeling so much pleasure.
Finn
Finn continued to moan as Marley's orgasm coated his dick and he shuddered, licking his lips before leaning down to find hers. They rode out their orgasms together before collapsing against one another, their breathing heavy and their bodies spent. "Damn." He whispered, giggling softly before making eye contact with her. "Are you okay?"
Marley
This was all definitely crazy. She never expected to do something like this. Not with someone she hadn't known very long. However, it was amazing. She felt amazing. She looked at him as he spoke and she nodded. "Yeah. Yes. I'm.... I'm good." She smiled at him. "Are you? Was this?"
Finn
Finn hadn't known Marley long and yet the way they fit together, the way their bodies moved so in sync, it was like they'd been having sex forever. He just hoped that once the alcohol wore off completely, she wouldn't regret what happened. "This was great, you were amazing. I mean, it's crazy but a good crazy." He said, biting his lip as he pulled out of her, falling next to her on the rug.
Marley
She was relieved he said that. She thought it was good, but she didn't want to assume anything. She watched as he moved off her and took a deep breath as they laid their together. "Good. It was great. It really was." She told him.
Finn
He smiled, leaning over to kiss her again. It was short and brief but filled with hidden meaning. "It really was. I, uh, did you just want to spend the night here? It's late and we're still drunk.. I wouldn't feel right if you left." He asked, grabbing her hand to hold. "If I can move that is. My body feels broken."
Marley
She kissed him back and smiled softly at him. "You want me to stay?" She asked and rubbed his hand softly with a grin on her face. "Yeah. If you don't care. Sure." She looked deep into his eyes and laughed softly. "Broken in a good way, I hope." She moved and laid her head on his chest.
Finn
"Of course. It would make me a shitty person if I had sex with you and then made you walk home alone. My boys out there would make it a game and I'm not going to do that to you so yes, you can stay." He explained, his nose crinkling as she rolled over onto his chest. His fingers automatically ran through her hair as they tried to come down from the high. "Definitely in a good way. My legs are jelly. I'm so glad I don't have class or practice tomorrow because I'd have to call in sick."
Marley
She nodded as she listened to him. " Right. Better this way if I stay." She took a breath and relaxed into his body. She laughed softly and closed her eyes as she buried her head into him. She wasn't sure what to say, but was glad he was still enjoying this."
Finn
"Exactly. I'm saving both of our lives right now." He laughed, fingers tracing up and down her arms. He was getting tired, the exhaustion of their act finally wearing on him and as the room filled with no sound but their combined breathing, he let his eyes fall closed, arms wrapping tighter around her as they fell both fell asleep.

“Will I be the lead?” || Finn Wolfhard
Request: none
Characters: Finn Wolfhard x reader, Wyatt, Josh, Jake
Tense: 3rd person
Summary: Finn is back home and has some time to spend with his friends. Talking on rooftops, skating on the streets and sleepovers in the gardens.
A/N: In terms of this storyline, Finn and Wyatt have known each other for a while and all characters became a friendship group
Finn was finally back home after filming for over a year; he hadn’t seen his friends in that space of time until now. He got into his house to find Josh sat at the dining table eating leftover pizza from the Wolfhard’s fridge. He turned and smiled, mouth full, and waved as he got up quickly. He engulfed Finn into a hug and as he did, Finn noticed Wyatt sat with Jake. The two came and joined the hug, creating a large group hug. Finn stood looking around slightly.
“(Y/N) will be round later,” Wyatt said. “She has some things to do,” Finn nodded, somewhat embarrassed that Wyatt knew exactly who he was looking for.
The guys all sat around and talked for ages, mostly about nothing in particular, just general nonsense. They were all sat outside in front of Finn’s house on the front porch: Jake and Wyatt sitting in a swing seat, whilst Finn and Josh sat on chairs opposite.
“Yeah, but hypothetically speaking, you can’t just take it out of its shell, like it would kill it,” Wyatt spoke seriously, even though the subject they were discussing was completely random. The others nodded in agreement, humming like the topic was an actual debate of some sort.
Finn stroked his chin. “Yes but if it was then covered in, let’s say, the armour then it would be protected even more and it wouldn’t die, because it would replace the shell,” Josh clicked his fingers and nodded vigorously.
“No the bones of it are attached to it, it would destroy it then bleed to death,” Wyatt elaborated. “Armour would then make it worse and it would already be dead,” he said.
“If it’s attached,” Josh said. “Then why can they retract into their shells?”
“For this particular topic,” Finn said, sounding like he was from a posh and upper class area. “I’m going to say it wouldn’t kill it because this is complete fantasy, not reality,” everyone laughed.
“Fine,” Wyatt rolled his eyes jokingly. “But it’s able to retract because it’s the limbs of it, it has space in its shell to just go into itself.”
They were still sat on the front porch, when they noticed (Y/N) skate over. She stopped, picked up her board and then made her way up to the guys. Finn’s face instantly lit up, the two ran to each other, instantly hugging. The other guys shared glances with one another and then with Finn’s brother who was stood inside the house, but was definitely watching.
“You got taller,” she laughed as she now had to look up at him slightly. “I’m pissed,” he shrugged, laughing along with her. He couldn’t help but think why she had her beanie covering the entirety of her head, showing no hair apart from one tiny strand which he could’ve sworn was an odd colour.
“I haven’t skated in a while,” he said, referring to her board. “Do you mind if we do?” he asked, everyone else was up for it.
***
“Your balance is better than it was,” she laughed. “You’re actually good now,” he looked at her and smiled.
“Learnt from the master,” he pointed in front of him towards Josh. “Which would be him,” She flicked Finn’s forehead and he pretended to be injured.
“Such a baby,” she rolled her eyes and skated away from him, causing him to get back on his board and follow her jokingly. He had one arm out in front and the other on his chest.
“Breaking my heart,” he said which made everyone laugh. They all started to skate towards (Y/N)’s house, which was where Finn’s parents now were.
Finn’s parents were close with (Y/N)’s, which was why Finn and her were as close as they were. They all stumbled into the house, heading straight for her room. Josh threw himself on her bed, Jake following suit, Wyatt took a beanbag chair whilst Finn took her desk chair. She sat on the floor, like she usually would whenever they were altogether as a group.
“The sunset is so nice,” (Y/N) said, looking out at the sky through the window. Everyone hummed in agreement.
“Remember when Wyatt almost fell off the roof?” Jake spoke up, barely able to get his words out through laughter. “Cracked me up so much.”
“Those times we’d sit on the roof and just make fake answers to actual questions,” She said, also barely audible through laughter. “I miss those times.”
“Let’s do it now, then,” Finn suggested, spinning around on the chair. Nobody had taken notice that he’d been doing it as soon as he sat down, more than likely the 10th time he’d spun around. “Why reminisce about doing it when we could just do it now?” He stood up, stumbling slightly with dizziness. He held out his arms and stayed still, “I’m all good.”
She opened the windows and one by one, they all crawled out the window to sit on the roof. All were laughing, talking about anything that came to mind, yet again nonsense. Finn’s eyes kept diverting to her unintentionally, which Josh had picked up on.
“Okay, okay,” she laughed. “But I know what I know,” she shook her head, stomach aching from laughing.
“Which is nothing?” Josh asked, causing her to reach over Finn and hit his leg. “You kneeded permission to do that,” you looked at him emotionless, whilst Finn sat laughing. Finn was finding anything and everything funny that night on the rooftop.
“I’ve done legitimate research,” Jake said, speaking with a serious tone. “There are a couple of things you don’t understand- also the world is flat,” he interrupted himself with his statement. Josh squealed a trailed ‘what?’ as Finn just stared from Jake to her and then back to Jake.
“And the moon landing was fake,” Wyatt pointed out. She raised her eyebrows in amusement.
Josh piped up, “Dude, I’m just glad that people are, like, being straight up with me for once, because I’ve never heard any of this shit,” everyone laughed. She patted his back in a joking comfort.
“I’m gonna go get a drink, anyone want anything?” She said, everybody shook their head, carrying on with their discussion, as she climbed back into the house through the window, heading downstairs. She went to the fridge and pulled out a Coke can. She took off her beanie, the hat that had been covering the entirety of her hair, and she placed the hat neatly on the dining table. She made her way back upstairs and as she walked into the room, Josh turned round from the roof. Widened eyes, he turned back round to the others. She climbed through and joined them in the place where she was originally sat.
“Oh, wow, you’re hair, it matches the sky,” Finn smiles, chuckling at his own statement, speaking softly. The sky at that very moment was a pink colour, something that happened at sunset. “I like it, it suits you.” All she could do is smile back, stroking her hair in flattery. Finn then kept making eye contact with each of the other guys, almost questioning if they knew she’d dyed her hair whilst he was away. It wasn’t a big deal to him but it had surprised him.
The group had eventually come down from the roof and were now in her back garden, putting up a tent. Finn and (Y/N) were planning to camp out in her garden for the night, after much begging to their parents. The guys had offered to help, knowing full well that the two of them putting it up together would take them until morning.
“No you need to give me that pole,” Wyatt shouted over to Josh who was stood opposite. “No, the other one,” Josh kept purposely picking up the wrong one, just to frustrate him. “Yes, thank you,” he caught the pole and attached it.
“It’s feeding time,” Jake said eagerly, referring to the part of pushing the poles through the material, which would keep the tent up and in place.
“I’ve already eaten,” Josh said seriously, everyone stopping and turning to him, hoping to see some evident look on his face that he was joking. They all found nothing. “I’m joking,” he reassured everyone.
Soon enough, the tent was up and secure. They’d all helped with sorting out the inside as well. The other guys had left after giving their goodbyes to the two friends and their families, who were sat inside. Finn and (Y/N) went inside to grab food, and then came back out to go into the tent.
“Haven’t seen you in a while,” she said, breaking the silence. “About a year, you look good, though.”
“So do you,” the two laughed at their conversation. “We sound like 35 year olds,” she nodded as she laughed.
“Yeah who lost touch after a break up and just reunited.”
“Oddly specific, but pretty movie-like,” Finn took a bite out of the chocolate bar in his hand.
“I love movies,” she said. “I wanna make some one day.”
“Will I be the lead?” he asked, sounding hopeful.
“Obviously, no one else would even need to audition, it’d be yours automatically,” she furrowed her eyebrows in a pretend ‘duh’ tone.
“What kind of film would it be?” He loved hearing her ideas for films or shows, he always admired her creativity which is why he was so interested in watching other directors do their jobs. It wasn’t always for his benefit, but for hers.
“I’m thinking an indie road trip,” She said, putting her arms out in front of her, acting as if there were a screen there as she paced out the words. “Pastel colouring, emotive music-“ She listed, tapping her fingers as she counted.
“Maybe some love?” he wiggled his eyebrows causing her to laugh.
She shook her head. “All platonic.”
“I love you,” Finn laughed. She smiled. “Always have this thing about you, you have such a creative mind, and I love it. This is why we’re friends,” He kept a constant eye contact, almost wanting her to believe he was telling the truth. “Talking about creativity, why’d you dye your hair?”
“I’ve always wanted to,” she explained, becoming self-aware. “I don’t really know, rebellious, I guess,” she shrugged. “I missed you,” she changed the subject.
“I missed you too,” his smile faded to him biting the inside of his lip. “But all you have to do is watch me in shit and you’ll be okay,” he tried making her feel better.
“I literally cried at stranger things two, dude,” she laughed, almost immediately regretting saying it, but her mouth was speaking before her mind could process the words needed. “It just reminded me of you coming back, you know? Emphasises how much you miss someone. This place isn’t the same without you.”
“Really?” he asked, surprised. He had thought that she would’ve been off doing things with new people or having more fun lately. “How so?” He was intrigued.
“People are so boring, they never want to do things like what we do. They don’t get me the way that you do, nobody has ever gotten me like you do.” Finn smiled.
“You’re a pretty hard person to understand,” he joked. “That’s why we get along so well.”
“How long are you here for?” she asked, lying on top of her sleeping bag. Finn copied, lying on his in the opposite direction. The two were top and tailing, Finn occasionally putting his foot on her face which caused her to tickle the underneath to get him to move it.
“I’ve got some interviews,” he explained, staring at the top of the tent. “So maybe two days?” he could hear her sigh. He instantly changed the subject as he noticed the raindrops on the tent material. “I remember you tried to convince everyone in our class that raindrops were God’s tears,” They both laughed. He sat up, eyes fixated on the droplet, and flicked the tent which caused the raindrop to fall.
“You’re so interested in the strangest of things,” she said before she was quickly eager to flick an oddly shaped droplet. The two spent the next few minutes focused on the raindrops, neither speaking but only giggling at their actions.
They both then sat back down, facing each other. “We’re such kids,” she shook her head, laughing to herself.
“Who says that’s a bad thing?” Finn questioned rhetorically. “I mean, it’s not like we’re 20 year olds, we’re kids. Can’t grow up too fast,” she was in awe of his mind-set. A part of her couldn’t wait to grow up and be independent, but being around Finn always influenced her to stay grounded. “So have you met anyone?” he jokingly asked, but was also somewhat serious.
“You know me, Finn,” she shrugged, speaking with a posh accent, “I don’t meet people. What about you?”
“Oh no no,” he copied her with the posh accent, “I try to stay focused on my career and my school career,” he chuckled, an arrogant and posh tone. “I don’t see the point because I have my time to find someone, I am just a kid so,” she tried not to laugh.
“Why, that’s because you feel whole, Sir,” she said, again a seriousness hidden within the words.
“I feel whole?” he asked, still keeping the joke going. She nodded.
“Yes, like you have something to fill up the gaping hole of emptiness,” Both stopped laughing and Finn had now caught on that she was being serious.
“And you have this gaping hole?” He asked her, concern evident in his voice and no accent this time, feeling slightly sad that his friend was feeling this way.
She didn’t speak for a few seconds, her mind functioning to find the right thing to say. “Sometimes,” she shrugged. “I mean, I have my insecurities and times where I feel like I need someone to make me feel real, which is crazy because I’m not even that old,” she laughed slightly, humourless but filled with embarrassment. Hearing herself say it she thought it sounded stupid.
“Well, you’re amazing and you don’t need anyone for you to know that,” he smiled, attempting to give comfort and reassurance. “Apart from me of course,” she smiled back this time. “And if you’re gonna be with anyone it’s obviously going to be with me,” he said, not really thinking.
“Finn don’t,” she said quietly.
“What?” he asked, worried.
“Just,” she sighed, “Don’t.”
“Did I say something wrong?” she shook her head. “I did, didn’t I?” She shook her head again. “You’ve gone all quiet, I obviously have,” he became frustrated both at her lack of talking and at himself for not knowing what he’d done.
“Now we really do sound like 35 year old exes,” she muttered, causing Finn to laugh. “I’m sorry, I just had a bit of a moment,” she shook herself and Finn copied, almost mimicking her in a comforting way.
“It’s okay,” he said, giving a slight side smile. “I understand.”
Finn and (Y/N)’s mums had come out to check on the two when they overheard parts of their conversations, they decided to walk back in, sharing a hand to the chest and mouthing the word ‘aww’. They were in the kitchen, (Y/N)’s mum making some tea whilst Finn’s sat at the kitchen counter.
“It’s nice to see them together again,” Finn’s mum spoke up. “He was talking non-stop about her and how he wanted time with everyone,” (Y/N)’s mum rested against the counter by the kettle opposite.
“I couldn’t agree more,” she smiled. “She’s been down lately,” she explained, sighing slightly. “School is becoming some sort of chore, she’s really not enjoying herself here at all. I don’t know how to help, it’s really difficult.”
Finn’s mum was always close to (Y/N)’s and with any situation, she was eager to help out. She was always there for advice and to take over if it ever got too much. She walked round and hugged her. “You know you can always talk to me.”
***
“Yeah but if the chicken was to run away, then what would you do?” She asked Finn, raising her eyebrows as she threw the small bouncy ball towards him. He caught it, threw it between his hands a couple of times as he thought. He looked upwards, something he did when he was concentrating and was deep in thought. He stopped, looked to her and pointed with the ball still in hand.
“Um, I,” He stopped, shaking his head and retreating from what he was about to say. He copied his actions as before: looking up and throwing the ball between his hands. He sighed. “You make this too difficult, (Y/N).” they both laughed. Finn threw the ball back to her, she caught it after 4 tries of catching as she unintentionally bounced it to try and keep it in her hand. Finn began to laugh hysterically, falling on his back and clapping. She threw the ball at him.
“Shut up,” she whined. “Stop laughing at me,” he started to roll around, still laughing and unable to stop. He then sat up, holding his stomach and gradually stopping from laughing.
“You make me laugh so much,” he said, smiling and holding the ball.
“What by me embarrassing myself?” She pretended to be offended. “That’s just hurtful.”
“No,” he said plainly. He was running over the right words in his head. “Just- Just you being you,” he put the ball down. She picked up a packet of twizzlers, pulled one out and began to eat it. “You’re the best person I’ve ever met and will ever meet, no doubt about it. I talk about you all the time, man,” She choked on the sweet, coughing then swallowing it again.
“Oh Jesus,” she said, hand on chest. “Sorry,” he waved her off then started to pat her back to make sure she was okay. “I just thought that you kinda forgot about me- well not forgot but like just didn’t really think about me.”
He widened his eyes and shook his head vigorously. He moved back to where he was sat, opposite you. He had his legs up, his hands intertwined with each other and rested them around his knees. “You’re always on my mind,” he laughed. “So much it’s come naturally to just think about you and for everyone on sets to groan if I even start to say your name,” She smiled, biting the inside of her mouth.
“That means a lot,” she said. “I think about you too.”
“Good otherwise this would be awkward,” he laughed, the two hugged. It was a much more sentimental hug, the type where you knew that you wouldn’t see someone for a while so you wanted to get the most feeling from it. It was quite a long hug, almost as if the two hadn’t realised they were still hugging and as if time itself was going slowly.

My top 10 shows I saw in 2017.
This is in no particular order, and to prove that, I’m sticking one of the best in the middle and saving one for last. I’m mostly focusing on shows I saw for the first time in 2017, but I’m making two exceptions (four if you count Broadway transfers that I saw in previous incarnations) and you probably already know what those two are. I’m also sticking to plays and musicals as opposed to concerts, comedy performances, etc., but I’ll include a few of those in my honorable mentions. So here goes!
The Book Of Mormon with Dom Simpson as Elder Price: Let me start off by saying I adore Nic Rouleau. He’s been in various productions of BOM since its very beginning, and he still continues to get better every time I see him. And when I say this next thing, I don’t want anyone to think I’m tired of him, because that couldn’t be further from the truth. The day he leaves the show is probably the day the world ends. But since he’s been with the show for so long, he’s the Price I’ve seen the most often, by a long shot, so seeing a new take on the role was a refreshing experience that I’ll always cherish. When I met Dom at the stage door, I found out that I had seen the show more times than he had done the show. I hope he has more opportunities to go on, because he gave a wonderful performance! (Quick shout-outs to the other two times I saw it this year, especially when I went on my birthday.)
Falsettos’ closing performance: Having frequented this show consistently since the first preview (for...no particular reason), it was such a privilege to watch this cast of seven give it their all every single time. Still, that final show was probably everyone’s best performance. Andrew’s final “The Games I Play” was definitely the best I had heard him sing it, and the fact that I was sitting close enough to see the tears in his eyes was both a blessing and a curse that will haunt me for the rest of my life. Anthony powered through even though he was getting over an illness (which I would not have realized if I hadn’t already known) and had to call out earlier that weekend. Stephanie had to take moments during “I’m Breaking Down” and “Trina’s Song,” but somehow made it through “Holding To The Ground.” Brandon teared up during “A Marriage Proposal.” Everyone was emotional during the curtain call. And of course, I started crying the moment the lights went down for the first act and rarely stopped. The woman sitting next to me was a friend of William Finn’s and had lost friends during the AIDS crisis, so the show resonated with her in a way that it never will with me. I’m grateful that the production is on Broadway HD and that I can watch it whenever I want to, but it’s not the same as being there. It’s been almost a year and I still miss it a lot. What more can I say?
The Play That Goes Wrong: After seeing this in London with my mom and stepdad, we all loved it so much that we jumped on the chance to see the Broadway transfer as soon as possible. It goes wrong in all the right ways! I have now seen it three times on Broadway, and the jokes are still fresh and hilarious. Even while laughing at all the mishaps, I find myself sympathizing with these characters and admiring their determination to keep going. Sometimes it cheered me up, and other times it made an already good day even better. I hope I can go back soon to see the new cast.
The Great Comet: I went into this one knowing nothing about the plot, just that a lot of people loved it. I was also seeing it 12 days after Falsettos closed, so you can probably guess the state of mind I was in. But I loved this show! The music was like nothing I’d heard before (in a good way, obviously), the set felt intimate and elaborate at the same time, and the cast was incredibly talented AND one of the most diverse I’d ever seen, if not THE most. Somehow they made it easy for me to relate to characters living in 19th century Russia, despite living as a millennial in 21st century New York. I saw it twice, once with the original Broadway cast and once with Dave Malloy and Ingrid Michaelson, and I would have gone more if it had the long, successful run it deserved. But unfortunately, just like a comet, it lived up to its name and shone brightly for a short amount of time before disappearing. Also, the pierogies they gave out before the show were delicious. And I’m just now realizing that they missed out on an opportunity to make “Pierre-ogi” puns.
Bastard Jones: I have to admit this one grew on me. Once I found out that a former member of Toxic Audio was in the cast, I knew I was going to see it multiple times no matter what I thought, so thank goodness it was a good show! The first time I went, I enjoyed myself, and of course I loved getting to see René perform for the first time in ten years, but I wasn’t blown away. But that second time...maybe the performances got tighter. Maybe the jokes just landed better. Maybe it was because I was with the first friend I ever took to a Toxic Audio show. I’ll never know for sure. But I liked it a lot more the second time. While most of the draw for me was still seeing René in a role that is absolutely perfect for him, I ended up falling for the whole show as well. The slapstick humor, word play, and dirty jokes are completely up my alley (there’s a dirty joke somewhere in the phrase “up my alley”), and I found two songs I want to use for auditions once the sheet music becomes available. I saw this one four times during its month-long run, and the only reason I didn’t go more is that it sold out super quickly after getting rave reviews. The team is hoping that their next step is a longer run in a bigger venue, and I will definitely revisit the show when that happens, especially if René is still playing Partridge.
Sunday In The Park With George: I watched the DVD of the original production a few years ago because my friend was very nice and lent it to me, and I was so excited that I could finally see a live production. It. Was. Fantastic! Annaleigh Ashford and Jake Gyllenhaal were both wonderful and almost definitely would have received Tony nominations if the production had decided to compete. Andrew Kober, whom I’d seen in a few other things, was a swing in the show and got to go on for the first time the night I was there, which made it even more of a treat. This was a great production of an already great show, and although it was always going to be a limited run, I wish it could have lasted longer. More Sondheim on Broadway, please!
Jitney: My mom and I saw this one together, and it took a while to get going for us, but once it did, we were hooked. A super talented group of people sharing a compelling story? Yes, please! We both left the theatre pleasantly surprised, and everyone who signed at the stage door was very nice. Most of the actors didn’t have Sharpies and I got to lend them mine, which was a nice bonus. Of course, it’s always great to see BOM alumni continue to be successful, and I saw it the day after my BOM anniversary on purpose. The alumnus in this show ran over and gave me a big hug that night.
Brigadoon: This weekend-long City Center production looked ready to transfer and get an open run! Stephanie J. Block’s solo number was the stand-out for me (partially because she’s Stephanie, but her song would have been my favorite anyway), and Kelli O’Hara and Patrick Wilson were amazing as the two leads. Yes, the show has that “falling in love after knowing each other for one day” thing that annoys me about a lot of older musicals, but it still has a beautiful score and a unique premise.
The Band’s Visit: I loved this show when I saw it at the Atlantic Theatre last November, and I was very excited when I found out it was transferring to Broadway, but I also had my reservations. I was concerned that the show would lose its intimacy in a larger space. Boy, was I happy to be wrong! They picked the right theatre, as it most likely would have lost the intimacy in a bigger house, almost the entire cast is the same, and somehow the show was even better the second time. It’s a heartwarming, simple but effective story that we could all use right now. It’s not a “see over and over again” show for me, but I will definitely return to Bet Hatikva (with a B) at some point. I can’t officially endorse it for Best Musical until I see more of the new musicals this season, but if it doesn’t at least get nominated, I’m rioting.
Groundhog Day: Will I get through this paragraph without crying? Won’t I get through this paragraph without crying? Civilization once again hangs in the balance. Wow. What an unlikely love story! And contrary to those corny Hallmark movies where you figure the love story out in the first 30 seconds of the trailer, this love story was ACTUALLY unlikely. For me, at least. This was the show that got me excited about theatre again after Falsettos closed. I found something else I couldn’t stop gushing about or recommending to friends. At first most of that excitement came from the novelty of the first preview (Google the story if you don’t already know; this post is long enough already) and the awesomely professional way the team handled such a stressful situation, but as I listened to the cast recording more, it became clear that it wasn’t just that one experience that I loved. It was the whole show, and everyone involved. They took the story of a beloved, seemingly flawless movie, and in my not-even-living-in-the-same-neighborhood-as-humble opinion...dare I say it?...made it even better? I made Twitter friends because of this show. I crocheted Phil and Rita dolls and got to give them to Andy and Barrett. The closing notice hurt, and attending the final performance was one of my most bittersweet experiences, but it was worth it. This show was definitely a highlight of 2017. Six months and a day was not enough time, but I’m grateful for the time it had and I miss it every day. (For those of you wondering, I did not get through this paragraph without crying.)
Honorable mentions, also in no particular order:
Andrew Rannells’ and Stephanie J. Block’s Live From Lincoln Center concerts: An hour each, watching two of my favorite performers do solo shows that will later air on PBS was such a treat! Andrew’s set was completely full of songs I’d never heard him sing before, while Stephanie’s was a mix of new things and songs she’s known for. After hearing Stephanie sing “Some People” from Gypsy, I want her to play Rose one day. But first I want her to play Fanny Brice. Andrew is one of the only people who could make me cry by singing “Born To Run” by Bruce Springsteen (the others, of course, being the members of Toxic/Vox Audio). And he did.
Indecent: I almost made my list a top 11 so I could include it, but I insisted on having a round number. This was a powerful one-act play about making and producing God Of Vengeance, which was very controversial at the time because it was the 20th century and two women fell in love. Taking place during the Holocaust, the use of sand was very effective, and was probably both my favorite thing about it and the most difficult part to watch. It was my pick for Best Play this past season, and again, it deserved a longer run.
White Arab Problems: One of my friends from acting class wrote and performed a 45-minute comedy act about the struggles of being Arab but passing for white. In the piece, she humorously acknowledges the privileges that come with being white while also really dealing with the frustration of people thinking she’s trying to appropriate her own culture. I first met her in class in 2015 and recognized some insecurities that came across as ones I also have. Watching her grow over the years, seeing her perform this piece, and knowing she was proud of what she did made me a proud friend/classmate/scene partner, and I look forward to seeing it again whenever I can.
The Skivvies: Not much to elaborate on here, but I see as many of their concerts as I can, and it’s always a super fun time.
Prince Of Broadway: While this one was billed as a musical, it was technically a revue, which is why I didn’t put it on the official list. Watching a super talented cast of nine people perform songs and scenes from multiple Hal Prince shows definitely made for a great night! I went to the last preview, and I went again during the final week. I want Chuck Cooper to play Tevye, and I want Brandon Uranowitz to play Georg Nowack. And the Emcee. And Molina. And any other role he wants to play because he’s amazing.
So there’s my list. I’m kind of bummed that I didn’t include more plays, but hopefully next year. And with that, “ba da ba ba ba suck my balls, I’m out.”

Why did Clarke fall in love with Bellamy?
Okay so this post is really late (but it seems to be the general agreement amongst my followers that this post is needed now more than ever so here we are). I wrote a post based on an ask I received awhile ago about why Bellamy fell in love with Clarke (you can find it here) and I really, really wanted to follow it up with the flip side to that post, focusing instead on why Clarke fell in love with Bellamy. (’Cause guess what bitches? Bellarke is real and it goes both ways and I’m going to talk about why.)
In my initial post about why Bellamy fell in love with Clarke I focused quite extensively on how love isn’t selective and you don’t just fall in love with some parts of a person, but you fall in love with their everything. You love them as a whole. So if you are interested in reading my argument on that, its all in the other post. I’m not going to spend to much time rehashing it here, but just know that everything regarding that concept is just as applicable to Clarke’s feelings for Bellamy as it is to Bellamy’s feelings for Clarke.
But in order to get to that point, we have to start from somewhere.
Why did Clarke fall in love with Bellamy? Why did she fall in love at all? And why him?
The answer - at least according to my personal interpretation - is pretty simple.
While Bellamy initially fell in love with Clarke because she offered him hope, Clarke fell in love with Bellamy because he offered her stability.
I’m going to explore this idea in depth, so if you’re interested in hearing me out, continue below the cut.
Just as Bellamy’s feelings for Clarke are all connected to his life on the Ark, and the way he grew up and how that shaped him as a person, Clarke’s feelings for Bellamy are intrinsically linked to her own personal backstory and experiences separate from Bellamy himself.
Lets take a trip back to Season 1.
Prior to landing on the ground, Clarke’s life was about as close to the definition of perfect that you could get in a place like the Ark. She was, as Emori stated, loved and well-taken care of. She was privileged, had an incredibly loyal best friend and a stable family life. Due to her social class and her parents’ careers, she was basically guaranteed a desirable work position and a steady and comfortable lifestyle.
But that all spun out of control. With her father’s decision to go public about the Ark dying, everything in her life that was nice and consistent and stable became hectic and confusing and tied with heavy and unpleasant emotions.
Her family was ripped apart through death, the council upon which her mother sat upon locked her up and isolated her for a year. Her best friend, the one person she thought she could trust, betrayed her (or so she believed). The privilege she used to possess? Gone. The most she could hope for would be the chance for a pardon, which is incredibly unlikely due to the fact that the Ark needed the extra oxygen more than ever, as well as the fact that they couldn’t risk her telling anyone what she knew.
That stability she used to have, the comfort? It just disappeared. Clarke’s world tipped off its axis and everything from that moment onwards was off-balance and interwoven with lies and the constant shifting of the unknown.
Loneliness and isolation greeted her instead of the love and company she grew up with. Uncertainty replaced her confidence in her future, and the future of her people. Skepticism and the building of walls replaced trust in her loved ones.
So here’s where I start talking about Clarke’s relationships, and not just her relationship to Bellamy. I’m going to get to that, but in order to express properly how important he is to her, I feel spending some time on her other major relationships will be of value to sell my point.
So allow me to talk about Finn, Abby, Jake, L.exa, and Wells - arguably the five closest people to Clarke throughout the course of the show, excluding Bellamy (for now).
I think that it is important to talk about Clarke’s isolation on the Ark. For a year, she had no contact with her mother, with Wells (who she hated at the time), with anyone else but possibly prison guards and maybe Jaha or Kane (but we don’t know the details). By the time Clarke got to the ground, I’m sure she was craving human connection, affection, some sort of contact with another person. If you think about it, Clarke had nothing: no parents, no friends, no lover. She was completely alone.
And that’s how Finn found his way into her heart so easily. Because he was confident and he played Mr. Nice Guy and he liked her, flirted with her. But their love was shallow (as love often is when you’ve known each other for ten days) and Clarke ended up getting hurt ... again.
Finn betrayed her, in a way. He didn’t directly lie to her face, but he didn’t tell her the truth about Raven either. He deliberately kept secrets from her, because Finn wasn’t confident in how she would react. He didn’t want to entertain the thought that she might drop him; he didn’t take her personal feelings into account at all.
From Clarke’s discovery about Raven and onwards, her trust in Finn was completely tainted. She didn’t know what to believe about him, she stopped leaning on him for support and started leaning on others (ironically, Raven was one of them, and another was Bellamy - who Finn was very clear about distrusting). Following Finn’s betrayal, Clarke completely lost sight of who Finn was. And maybe, just maybe, she never really knew who he was at his core to begin with.
So here Clarke was: leaning on a boy for support, seeking any kind of stability she could find, and he tore the ground from under her feet. She was left off-kilter and unbalanced once more, even more alone than she was before she met him, even more distrusting and isolated.
Okay, so that’s a brief summary on Finn. He’ll be brought up again later.
Next up is Abby, Clarke’s very own mother. This is a unique relationship because it is a mother-daughter relationship. That’s the kind of bond that you just cannot compare to anything else. It is entirely its own.
But that bond has been tested. Abby, like Finn, did not tell Clarke the truth about Jake. She led her to believe, through avoiding the truth, that Wells was responsible for her father’s death when - in reality - that was a lie.
And Clarke and Abby’s relationship at the moment is steady (like I said: mother-daughter relationship, it can’t be replicated) but it wasn’t always that way, and they have their own baggage too. In any case, Clarke loves her mother and she always will, but she doesn’t lean on her in the same way anymore. As Raven said, she’s not a kid anymore.
Jake I threw in because, as her dad, he was obviously an important person in her life. But he’s also not around anymore, and she can’t lean on him for support either. His death is also the catalyst for her life falling apart.
Moving on, next up is L.exa. However their relationship turned out in Season 3, it doesn’t change the fact that L.exa betrayed Clarke in 2x16. She broke the coalition, she essentially broke her promise to Clarke that she would stand by her side, and its no wonder that Clarke has trust issues. And that trust was never truly repaired in Season 3, because it never had an opportunity to be tested. Their relationship was so wrapped up in politics, their clans so wrapped up in war with each other, that they never really could retrieve what they had following their alliance in Season 2 or fully address the tragedy in the way it fell apart.
I’m not going to delve into this because that’s not the point of this post. I’m just making a point to emphasize the common thread among all of Clarke’s deepest relationships that I’ve discussed, which is (with the exception of Jake) that they all involve a betrayal and/or lies, and all of them are lacking in trust.
Even Wells, Clarke’s best friend, lied to her. Yes, he was trying to protect her. But as the series progresses, we are learning more and more that sugarcoating things or trying to do something for people you care about for their “own good” isn’t always the best thing to do: sometimes you need to give people a choice and let them decide for themselves how to respond.
What I’m getting at, and what you may have already guessed, is that Bellamy is Clarke’s one exception to this constant cycle of lies and betrayal. He has never lied to her before. Not even once. In fact, if anything, it’s his total lack of hesitance to be honest with her - even when the truth hurts - that has led to most of the conflict in their relationship (and, yeah, I’m thinking of “Hakeldama”).
That’s what Clarke has been missing in all her previous relationships. That’s what makes Bellamy different. Its his honesty, his tendency to point out all the harsh realities of the situation that they are in and never let Clarke forget for one second who she really is, what she stands for, what’s important. He doesn’t sugarcoat things, he never has. He doesn’t hide things from her because he’s afraid of how she will react, he tells it to her straight.
And you know what? It’s that honesty that I believe initially made Clarke start to lean away from Finn and more on Bellamy back in Season 1. He may have acted like a power-hungry asshole at the start (which we know isn’t who he really is, and Clarke knows that too) but he never lied to her, or tried to manipulate her, or do anything of that sort because he didn’t need anything from her. He didn’t ask anything of her.
Once Clarke peeled back Bellamy’s layers and saw who he truly was, not who he pretended to be and not who he wanted her to think he was, she never stopped seeing the truth. She never had to question his motives or the person he is at his core because she just knew.
He was Bellamy.
I feel like I need to compare Bellamy and Clarke’s relationship to Clarke’s relationships with Finn and L.exa because I want to emphasize that there’s something Bellamy and Clarke have that the others never did: trust.
Clarke has trusted Bellamy ever since Season 1 - she said as much to Finn in “Day Trip”. It’s no coincidence that in 1x09, the episode immediately after, Finn says the words “you didn’t have to trust the Grounders, you just had to trust me” because Clarke never truly trusted him, not really. Not after he lied to her.
No. Finn never had the chance to become Clarke’s safe place. He was too unsteady for her to lean on, too unpredictable to calm the storm swirling in her head, too fragile to hold her together.
So she didn’t lean on him, anymore. She leaned on Bellamy.
Bellamy is Clarke’s constant.
When she isn’t sure of anything else, she can be sure of him. She depends on him, knows that he’s her partner and that he’ll be there for her. She doesn’t have any doubt about the person that he is because she knows him. Better than almost anyone else.
If you even look at “Hakeldama”, arguably their only true fight thus far (besides minor disagreements), Clarke is adamant that she knows who Bellamy really is, underneath the walls he throws up, and it wasn’t the man she was talking to. She said, “this is not who you are” because she knows who he is and she never doubted, never gave up on him. And that’s why it was so easy for her to slip back into the place they used to be in in “Nevermore”, because when she saw him again, she recognized him, and that trust she held for him? It didn’t disappear.
Again, going back to the Finn thing, after what Finn did to the people in Tondc, Clarke’s reaction was drastically different. Instead of pointing out who Finn really is, she said “I don’t even know who you are anymore” because the trust wasn’t there. Finn had betrayed her before, she had no confidence in his morals, in the person he led her to believe that he was. Instead, he was just another variable in Clarke’s life, throwing up new challenges in her path and adding even more tremors to the earthquake that sent her tumbling every corner she turned in her life.
I feel like I’m beating this point to death, but I really want to put a lot of emphasis on Clarke’s trust for Bellamy, and how their relationship is different from any other relationship that Clarke has because she knows exactly who he is, even when they’re not fighting for the same thing. As I stated, he is her constant, he offers her stability. In a world as unpredictable as the universe of The 100, he’s the one thing she is certain of.
But Bellamy offering support to Clarke when she’s struggling isn’t the only thing that makes him different from many of her other relationships. He offers her stability in the crazy and hectic world around her, yes, but he also offers her stability within herself. Allow me to explain.
Throughout the course of the show, Clarke has had so many people telling her who she should be. Wells wanted her to be the girl he knew on the Arc. The delinquents wanted her to be their saviour. Abby (initially) wanted her to continue to be her innocent little girl. Octavia wanted Clarke to “try harder”, to make less difficult choices, to always do the right thing - she wanted her to be perfect. Kane wanted her to be a diplomat. Finn wanted her to be a princess, and L.exa asked her to be Wanheda.
Those last two are the ones I want to focus on, because they are the two parts of Clarke that are constantly at war with each other ... or are they?
Because, really, is Clarke a princess? And is she truly Wanheda?
No, not really. Clarke can’t be placed in either box because she is neither. To try to make it out to seem like she is royalty or the Commander of Death is to simplify her, to make her into something she isn’t, something she doesn’t want to be. The princess and the Commander of Death are parts of Clarke’s story, but they don’t make up her whole.
While it was so often passed off as a teasing gesture of affection, over the course of the show it became more and more obvious to me that Finn’s nickname “princess” was far more than just a term of endearment, and more accurately a depiction of the girl Finn wanted Clarke to be.
Finn couldn’t accept the dark side of Clarke’s heart. He didn’t like to see her making tough decisions, didn’t like when she brought in guns to camp with Bellamy, as though it was sick and wrong and he couldn’t imagine that this girl, this princess, could possibly do such a thing. The thing is, Finn wanted to be the hero - her hero - he wanted to be the knight in shining armor. And he didn’t like when she didn’t listen to him, or made her own plans, or kept things from him (like in 1x09 with the Grounder meeting at the bridge), didn’t like when she acted as an authority figure, acted independently. Because people like Finn, they need to be needed, they need the attention. And after Raven? She wouldn’t offer him that.
He built this idealistic version of Clarke in his head, of the princess that he could go and rescue from her tragic past, who he could have for himself (just like the bunker he found, he wanted to keep it for the two of them and not share it). But Clarke wasn’t that princess, and she wasn’t fragile and vulnerable, and she didn’t need him to get done what needed to be done because she's strong and capable enough to do it herself. But with every criticism of all the things Clarke did and the choices she made to protect the camp (eg. allowing Lincoln to be tortured, getting guns with Bellamy, lying to him about the bridge, etc) the more apparent it became that Finn could never reconcile with the fact that Clarke wasn’t the princess he wanted her to be.
From one extreme to the other, now lets talk about the flipside of this: Wanheda.
While the nickname originated in Season 3, the transition from “princess” to “wanheda” happened long before that. Most evidently in Season 2, L.exa was extremely influential in Clarke’s character arc. She tried to make Clarke cold and ruthless, urged her to use her head over her heart, insisted that love was weakness. L.exa couldn’t see that there was more to life than surviving, more to life than hard choices and heavy costs in the name of keeping her people alive. The princess Finn wanted Clarke to be? L.exa hated that image. She viewed it as weakness, viewed vulnerability as weakness, any emotion as weakness. And so she made Clarke her model, and tried to emulate her in the way that L.exa thought was best. (Important to note that L.exa didn’t believe she was being cruel in doing this - she truly thought that the only way to survive was to turn her heart to stone.)
And so Wanheda was born. In many ways, L.exa’s lessons shaped Clarke up to make the choices that earned her the nickname “Commander of Death”. It was who L.exa wanted her to be - at least, it was at first.
So Wanheda Clarke was, when she was in L.exa’s presence. Her costume says it all. When in Polis, Clarke was dressed up as a Grounder, she was looked upon like a mythic legend (though not revered), feared, despised by many. A lot of the time, she was only referred to as “Wanheda” - by L.exa and by others - but not by her real name.
Which brings us to this point: Finn could never accept the fact that Clarke wasn’t the pure and innocent princess he wanted her to be, and almost every one of L.exa’s actions in Season 2 (and a bit in Season 3) was an attempt to shape Clarke into the ruthless and tactical shell who would one day be referred to as the Commander of Death.
They asked her to be only one side of herself, but not the other. Bellamy asked her to be no one other than “Clarke”.
This is what I mean when I say that Bellamy allows Clarke to find stability within herself. Jaha, while he could not possibly know this, really could not have stated it any better: Bellamy centers Clarke. With him, Clarke finds the happy medium between the princess and Wanheda, the person she truly is. Because no matter how hard she tries to escape herself, no matter how far she runs away from the truth, Bellamy is always there to see through her lies and cut through her bullshit. He knows her, he knows who she is at her core, and it’s not a “princess” and its not “Wanheda”. It’s just Clarke.
I personally love the symbolism behind Clarke’s various names, and the contrast between the way Bellamy refers to her and how others do. After Season 1, he stopped calling her princess entirely (with the exception of 4x01, which I’m going to talk about).
The only times Bellamy has ever referred to Clarke as “princess” was in a mocking context or by teasing. He mocked her with it at the start of Season 1, because Bellamy didn’t know who Clarke truly was yet. But when he did, the context changed. He no longer used it in the same way as Finn, but used it almost entirely because he knew for a fact that it wasn’t who she was. It became a joke, an amusing term of endearment to describe Clarke, because he’d seen her kill Atom, recognized her broken fragments and rough edges, and knew that she wasn’t just some helpless princess. He knew that she was strong.
The same reason he started using her nickname as a term of endearment is also the reason that he stopped using it entirely in Season 2 and 3 when their relationship deepened, and it just didn’t make sense to joke about it anymore. The addition of the nickname again in 4x01 is an incredible indication of how far Bellamy and Clarke have truly come, and how much Bellamy’s view of Clarke has evolved. Bellamy called Clarke “princess” ironically, as she marched away from Polis like a badass, holding the fate of the world in her hands. The context brought attention to the inaccuracy of the nickname to begin with, and Bellamy acknowledges that with his teasing gesture.
The only reason the writers would bring back that nickname would be to point out that it means something different this time.
Bellamy was used to point out the bs behind the “Wanheda” title, as well. He has used it a total of two times, and both times the word was full of mocking. In 3x05, when Bellamy refers to Clarke by her new name, he says it with bitterness, a clear slap in the face at the person that Clarke is pretending to be.
And the hit lands.
In the “Hakeldama” fight, Bellamy reminds Clarke of who she is, points out the mistakes she has made as a result of trying to stifle the girl she is at her heart in favour of serving what she believes to be a greater cause (but is it really?). There’s a reason that Clarke feels so different and isolated from both her people and herself when she’s in Polis, a reason why she barely greets her mother with anything but an unenthusiastic hug in 3x03. It’s because she’s trying to cover up and ignore Clarke, the girl from the sky, so she can pretend that “Wanheda” is who she’s always been. Why? Because it’s easier that way. That way, in accepting this person she believes herself to be, she can find peace within herself.
...
Right?
Wrong.
It’s no mistake that, up until the end of “Hakeldama”, the only scenes to draw true and heavy and raw emotions from Clarke are her scenes with Bellamy. It’s no mistake that the few and far between glimpses of that girl we met in Season 1 were caught in the moments where Bellamy tore off the mask she wore and ripped away the stone encasement around her heart.
In 3x02, we saw desperation as Clarke begged for Bellamy’s life.
In 3x03, we saw painfully attempted masked anguish as Clarke watched Bellamy walk away from her.
In 3x05, we saw the entire scope of Clarke’s emotions - from collected demeanor, to hurt, to guilt, to hope when he reached out for her hand, and finally despair at the realization that she might lose Bellamy, too.
And when Bellamy leaves? The mask is back on. Clarke returns to Polis and maintains her cold facade, her steady tactics, her reserved demeanor.
Is that who Clarke is? No, but Bellamy isn’t there to center her, is he? So she falls back into the trap of who the people around her tell her to be - Wanheda - and shuts away the girl who she really is.
When she’s around Bellamy, she isn’t capable of of upholding that facade for very long.
I think that we’re going to really see this idea hit home in 4x11, because Clarke is starting to revert back to that shell she became in 2B. But this time, Bellamy isn’t going to be in Mount Weather, and this time Clarke doesn’t have an isolated Polis tower to run to. No, this time, Bellamy is inescapable and - inevitably - so is herself. I’m prepared to see Bellamy remind Clarke of the girl she is to break her out of this cold place once again. Because he’s the only one who can possibly reach her.
Anyway, I don’t want to talk too much about 4x11 so I’ll start to wrap up this post now. In short, Clarke fell in love with Bellamy because he offers her support and honesty and stability in her life when the world is raging around her. She can trust him like no other person, and can depend on him. So much to the extent that she can depend on him to keep her grounded and true to who she really is. With Bellamy, Clarke doesn’t have to be a princess or Wanheda, she just gets to be Clarke, because he wants nothing more from her.
The truth is, Bellamy doesn’t dislike Clarke for her flaws, or for her mistakes, or anything of that matter. He embraces them, he loves her for who she is, every part of her - the good and the bad, and he’ll accept her mistakes and weak spots and her vulnerabilities because he loves her, in any circumstance, and doesn’t need her to be anyone else but herself. With Bellamy, Clarke doesn’t need to fear rejection for being the person that she is, because he’ll always accept her no matter what.
As I said, Bellamy is Clarke’s constant (in more ways than one) and that is one fact that has not changed over the course of the show.
He is both her weakness and her strength. The heart to her head. The other side of her coin. Duel flame. Her port in a storm. The compass that leads her home. Any other cliche you can think of describing balance and stability - it doesn’t matter how cheesy it is, because that’s truly what Bellarke is.
But the meta isn’t over yet, because I have failed to address one little (but important) thing. When you fall in love with a person, you don’t fall in love with just one little thing or one part of them - as I talked about in my meta about why Bellamy fell in love with Clarke, he didn’t just fall in love with certain parts of her but not the others, he fell in love with her everything. Clarke functions no different in that regard.
She didn’t just fall in love with Bellamy’s stability and honesty and support - she fell in love with every single piece of him that makes him into who he is, too. She fell in love with his defiance, and his grit. She fell in love with his strength of character and determination. She fell in love with his loyalty, his stubbornness. She fell in love with his large capacity for empathy, and his protectiveness. She fell in love with every single part of him that made him Bellamy.
I didn’t intend to spend too much time on that last point because I talked about in my other post about Bellamy falling in love with Clarke, but I still feel like its an important thing to point out because we have to remember that love isn’t selective, and Clarke doesn’t just love Bellamy for one reason over another (because to make that assumption simplifies their relationship).
This is my interpretation of why Clarke initially started falling in love Bellamy (and then it just escalated and snowballed from there as Clarke fell in love with more and then most and then all of Bellamy over the last three and a half seasons). I hope it was worth the wait, and that you enjoyed it!

I watched the Adventure Time finale...
I’m proud that show was able to last as long as it did, especially with just how... kind of batshit insane the production got in its later seasons. I’m glad it kickstarted the careers of many great creators who have gone either to helm or create their own unique and diverse shows. I can tell that, at least in the early days, there was a big brewing pot of ideas and the “anything goes” mentality allowed different creators to tackle what they wanted with the program. The likes of many popular shows today are either rooted or inspired and admired by this show. And that’s fantastic. The finale was underwhelming. Truthfully I never really kept up with the show, so that’s probably part of it. AT came on the air when I was in college and when I wasn’t busy with games, studies, etc. the only show I tended to really watch at the time was Phineas and Ferb (and you can mock me all you want about that, I still stand by that that was a great show (that also had a nice run... until either Disney or the creators are trying to ruin it/recreate it without being the same show with their new product, but that’s another dumb talk for another time)). Adventure Time would have initially premiered when I was in my Junior of college, so yeah, probably didn’t watch it that much but respected a lot of the voice talent and kind of silly style the show had going for it. I’d watch it on and off through the years and get invested in some of the bigger multiparters such as the return of the Lich (never really understood it too much other than it was just evil), the really cute relationship Finn had with the Flame Princess until someone went “we don’t know how to write this and this is a show about adventure!” so they kind of just... stomped on that, and then the introduction of the being known as Prismo, who was pretty dang cool. A good friend of mine and I began bonding over cartoons because we watched a lot of them. Cartoons are, by in large, vehicles for everyone. They get this bad rep that they’re “kid’s stuff” and I can see why if you have stupidly easy to produce shows that just rely on fart jokes or the like. But we didn’t really see that. This drove us both back to watch Adventure Time, since we wanted to catch up on all the current cartoons. The episode we ended up watching... I think it was a two-parter, was about Finn’s dead-beat dad and getting him out of jail so he could then... betray his son to go somewhere? They killed off Prismo (at least for now), Finn lost an arm, and it seemed like things were getting tense. ...then Finn grew an arm back a few episodes later like, “lol, nothing bad happened.” For both of us, though my friend was already bothered by the two-parter we had watched, we kind of viewed the show has not really wanting to take itself seriously. Like there was this sense that yes, they wanted to have high stakes. Yes, they wanted to create this big expansive story (that the creator of the show kind of just said didn’t really exist or wasn’t extremely fleshed out when the show began, it was just a fun weird idea he had). But it seemed like someone burst into the writing room and went, “NO, WE CAN’T DO THAT. WE NEED TO REVERT IT BACK TO A FUN HAPPY JOLLY ADVENTURE” This seems to have persisted for the rest of the show’s duration.
Random side characters would be brought back, changed up, revived, killed off again, all for the sense of some kind of “drama” but then episodes would go “lol forget that happened” as if the writers were literally fighting with each other on what the hell they wanted to do now that most of their founding talent had moved onto other projects. Not to say anything bad of the last few seasons, but it just seems no one was willing to compromise to make something vaguely coherent. I realize that’s hilarious given that the first few episodes are anything but, but that seems to come from again a time when the series really wasn’t MEANT to have a large overarching narrative. I think with a lot of shows that have appeared since then, everyone just assumes “oh, this is a big overarching story with a beginning, middle and end and we’re just getting pieces of it at a time” such as the like with Steven Universe, the recent Ducktales reboot and parts of Gravity Falls. But I think the proof is in the pudding: This isn’t a “grand scheme, J.K. Rowling had most of the ideas for Harry Potter set out when she wrote the first book,” this is more of a, “Nomura realized he was going to make more Kingdom Hearts games and had to write by the seat of his pants in order to make a long narrative, making up new crap as he goes along.” There’s nothing wrong with that second one when done correctly, lots of older shows such as Star Trek: TNG were able to do this pretty competently. But when I think about it I think back to college when an old roommate and I were discussing the manga, “Bleach” which was beginning(?) or at least had signs of wrapping up at the time. I argued that Bleach overstayed its welcome, had horrendous pacing issues, and was plaguing itself with the most (at the time) bloated ending (which ended up NOT being the ending, fancy that). My roommate argued that once the series was completed, he would reread it and he was sure it would all make sense read as one package rather than the weekly updates we got.
So a few years passed and Bleach finally ended. My former roommate set himself out to do this task. He was kind of disappointed to find out that what I had said was true: The pacing got sloppy after a certain point, new powers get introduced pretty much at random, and fights last for goddamn ever (and this is the MANGA) leading to a really “meh” ending that feels extremely forced... after two other arcs that also felt extremely forced since they go against that proposed “what everyone thought would be” ending.
I feel like Adventure Time will be viewed in a similar light in the future. From the limited knowledge I have, it seems the “writers fighting over” what to do with Finn, Jake and the characters did indeed happen. There were plans for a movie, then it got canceled, then they tried to revive it, then they wanted to do specials and finally they just got a few more seasons. While I’m sure some would say, “well of course Cartoon Network would give them more seasons, it’s their most popular show!” Well it isn’t anymore. It hasn’t been for a while. The fact the show got a few more seasons seems more on good faith of “this product was good in the past, maybe it can still shine” they say as they cram Teen Titans Go literally to everywhere on their schedule. By the time my friend and I had watched the episode with Finn’s dad, Steven Universe had become huge on the network and many fans of AT, who liked some of one of the main original writer’s stories for that show, switched over to their new show instead. Cartoon Network was also premiering new shows around this time with We Bare Bears and Clarence, which had their own form of a humor that was relatable (like the ones found in AT) but without having a confusing as heck backstory/world. These shows became pretty popular because they did things without even making a fuss out of them (one of the characters in Clarence has two moms, and no one questions it, it’s just acceptance. There’s even a joke in that show about one of the characters waiting for a blind date, sees a hot guy and gets excited, then finds out he’s actually on a dinner date with his boyfriend/husband, it’s honestly masterly crafted). This kind of left AT in the dust for a bit as it’s weird show was becoming more serialized to the akin of the later seasons of Spongebob -- When in doubt, do something weird, or dumb or maybe shock-value (substitute for Spongebob’s gross-out humor) just to get views.
It seems the dust finally settled as the writers were able to come up with SOMETHING in order to end plot threads that were set up or messed up or whatever. Did you know Ice King was a regular human from before an apocalyptic war? It was a pretty cool reveal. Cool. Now there’s just a magic time portal for some reason and he’s no longer cursed for a bit and his wife is here. Oh, but he’s Ice King again and doesn’t remember her so... his wife will just wander the wilderness or something now? Okay... Jake’s an alien now. In hindsight, sure, it makes sense, but it feels like many of these ideas are just thrown at the wall for the sake of making “lore” when it’s really just making random crap up to make the show feel more “deep.” (Seriously, go look at the Kingdom Hearts plot to see the master of this craft.)
In the end, the finale wraps with a war... or not... it just kind of devolves into this thing for a bit where Finn has to confront his fears one last time, Bubblegum (who was just kind of shit on a bit from the writers during the later seasons) has to fight her uncle?? But then they make peace, and then a giant demon shows up for some reason because Ice King’s wife summoned it. Why did she summon it? What was the purpose? “Well I wanted my husband back” yeah ok, but... giant demon? The f*ck? Then through the power of music they kind of banish it... it’s... weird. I mean it makes sense for the show, and it’s definitely not a terrible episode. But it feels like they really wanted to play up, “LOOK AT THIS EPIC TALE WE’VE WEAVED, YOU BETTER HAVE NOTICED ALL THE DETAILS!!” for their last shebang. And that’s really the problem: The show was never set up like that to begin with. It was set up as a funny show with silly gags and interesting locales for characters to explore from episode to episode. If they ever did something that had consequences (in the earlier seasons at least) something would be done with a quick explanation of dialogue or something that gave the viewer indication as to what was going on, so they wouldn’t be lost. If you’ve watched Steven Universe at all, this show does it pretty brilliantly. Even with more recent episodes that have become heavily story-driven, you can start an episode without having seen ANY of the previous and it’s easy to work your way into. Having that previous knowledge helps, but the shows are constructed in a way that you shouldn’t have to do that unless you want to. Maybe because this was a finale, that’s why they could get away with it? ...but Gravity Falls had a finale too. It put in a lot of references to past episodes and things that happened in the series. You can still watch that finale without having seen any of the series. There’s no big bar that holds you back as to “why is this happening.” You learn character motivations, importance of items, etc. quickly in how it’s established. I know that sounds really selfish, “well it’s a finale for THIS show, and they should reward longtime viewers” and sure, fine. But the way Gravity Falls did it also didn’t alienate newer viewers either?
We’ll see what time has to say on it when people begin bringing it up to their kids or when past kids look in on it in just a few years who may have never seen the show. Maybe I’m 100% wrong. But I feel that it’s a show that, like Bleach, should have ended while it was ahead, at least a few years back. Luckily unlike Bleach, it’s still an enjoyable conclusion. But it definitely feels like a hollow shell of its former self. (But hey Marceline and Bubblegum becoming an item is actually cool and some of the scenes with them at the end are really cute so that’s a good plus, and Beemo (the best character) became a king so not everything’s terrible... just mediocre besides those points.)

Meet Brittany Pierce. She is 24, and originally from hometown utp. She is bisexual and single. She plays Olive Bennett on Performing The Arts. Brittany is currently unavailable for auditions.
🎬 Off-Screen 🎬
When the spotlight is all you know the attention never seems strange, at least that is how things were for Brittany Susan Pierce.
One fateful day, Whitney Pierce was out shopping for ceramics for an art piece she was working on, when a poster caught her eye. “Most Beautiful Baby”? The words escaped from her throat with a quiet sigh. It was a problematic thing really, beauty pageants for babies, but as she looked down at the giggling, blonde, blue eyed, bundle of joy attached to her front, she thought ‘why not’. Her husband, unlike her, thought the idea was brilliant when she semi-jokingly brought up the contest later that night. Whitney Pierce was artist, whose work barely sold at local fairs. Pearce Pierce was an aspiring motivational speaker, but since he hadn’t done anything particularly spectacular in life, the offers for his services weren’t exactly rolling in, so he made money selling Mary Kay products. Though Pearce’s sells were surprisingly higher than most would have thought the young family’s finance were pretty unstable. Winning a contest like that could mean starting a college fund for their little one.
At the tender age of nine-months-old Brittany Pierce won over the judges with her beauty but even more so, her already bright unique personality. She won the “most beautiful baby” contest and piqued the interest of a few talent agents. One agent in particular, Estelle Leonard, impressed the Pierces a great deal with her pitch and Brittany was signed with her a week later. A string of print modeling jobs followed and those jobs opened the door to commercials. Brittany’s joy translated so clearly to the camera and casting agents loved her. She was cast in a short lived sitcom at age three. The show’s writing and overall premise wasn’t well received by audiences and only lasted a season but Britt stole every scene was a buzz began to grow. She landed a role in a summer action blockbuster as the lead actor ’s young daughter and she loved every minute of it. From then on the parts just kept coming and growing in importance with respect to the project.
Brittany loved set life. Everyone was so nice to her, she got to play make believe, and there were always treats around. The only downfall tended to be the very noticeable lack of kids around. Chatting with adults sometimes bored Britt to tears so she’d find ways of entertaining herself. Her favorites tending to be finding books on complicated subjects and figuring them out as quickly as she could, reading fantastical stories that only expanded her already large imagination, or dancing around set to whatever top forty song was on the radio at the time. Though, she was kept extremely busy, and she had a new baby sister, she missed the hole left by not having friends her own age. That all changed when six year year old Brittany Pierce landed her first main character role in the Disney Channel sitcom Life on the Wild Side. It’s six year run came to a surprising (for Brittany at least) and heartbreaking end. It was difficult saying goodbye to the family she’d collected, especially Noah.
The cancellation Life on the Wild Side did not slow things down for Brittany at all because she immediately landed a lead role in an ABC sitcom about a large blended family dealing with everyday life together. The show was an instant bonafide hit. Fame had took on a whole new level and she got a new TV family to love help with cure her sadness about the old one. Wishing on that shooting star definitely paid off.
Brittany saw the world in a unique way. There was magic everywhere and just because other people were entirely too jaded to see it didn’t mean that she couldn’t, and it certainly didn’t make her any less intelligent. In fact, Brittany had always been able to pick up everything she found interest in extremely quickly. That ranged from script lines, to dance step to complicated math equations. She spent the show’s hiatuses taking dance lessons, taking on new movie roles, and challenging her set teachers to challenge her. It became a sort of game, trying to find typical academic challenges that she couldn’t master. When Brittany was thirteen, the same year she graduated high school, one of her teachers brought in a Mensa admission test as a “farewell gift” and surprise, no surprise, Britt became a member.
After a 4 successful seasons, on Our Family, Brittany decided she needed a break. There were tears and heartfelt goodbyes, but in all honesty she was so exhausted she couldn’t think clearly most of the time. She’d decided earlier in the year that she wanted to give college a try. She wanted to experience life like most other people did, without photographers and crazy schedules and endless meetings with a bunch of old white dudes. Britt had a whole new life to look forward to.
Starting college as a famous sixteen year old was not easy, but Britt was up for the challenge. Eventually, she charmed the her fellow students and the professors. Most people liked her, though some were a bit mean, but she just chalked their cranky pants up to the fact that they probably hadn’t gotten laid in a very long time, their depression over never receiving their Hogwarts letter (she was a little sad about that herself), or plain old jealousy because it didn’t get much more awesome than her. College was over all everything she’d hoped for, even the difficult times. She had a diverse group of friends, she was learning new things about herself every day.
Brittany graduated from Stanford with an Applied and Engineering Physics degree. She felt accomplished but desperately missed performing. It had been something that tugged at her spirit for a while but she had to see that particular part of her journey she was on through. Britt moved to LA, contacted Estelle, her childhood agent and explained she was looking to get her feet wet again. While waiting to hear from Estelle, she took dance and improv classes to stretch some unused muscles. Getting the role on Performing The Arts seemed like the perfect opportunity. She’d be reentering the world of performing surrounded by newbies who were possibly as unsure as she was.
Connections
Santana Lopez: Brittany has never met anyone quite like Santana. They were instant friends even though they don’t really have a whole lot in common.
Jake Puckerman: Brittany and Jake were friends when they were little, but drifted apart when their show ended. Brittany went off to college, and Jake focused on dancing. She’s looking forward to getting to hang with him again.
Finn Hudson: Santana may dislike Finn, but Brittany thinks he’s kind of cute and wouldn’t mind a turn or two with him. She has always had a thing for the whole dumb jock type.
🎬 On-Screen 🎬
About Olive Bennett: A sophomore at New Burton, Olive Bennett, or “Extra Virgin Olive Oil” as she’s known to the other students, has always been a little different. She guesses that’s what happens when your parents are basically “hippies for Jesus.” Olive, however, isn’t bothered by the teasing. She loves her life, her parents, and her faith.
Why she’s at New Burton: Olive’s concentration is dance.
The In-Crowd or Outcast? Outcast
Brittany on Olive:
Olive is family oriented and very much rooted in her faith. It brings her peace knowing there is something bigger out there, a greater purpose. She isn’t preachy about it but she isn’t shy about it either if asked. She does a lot of charity with her family and her youth group, in fact, most of her time outside of school is spent doing something connected with her church. Though her faith is important to her she misses having a life outside of it. She sometimes wants to be a teen like everyone else, go to parties and waste time at the mall. It’s hard for her to express that without feeling like she is betraying her faith so she just stays on her personal path most traveled. Sometimes her frustrations with having to defend her beliefs gets to her. She generally doesn’t let the other kids get to her, but having strong beliefs can be isolating and that can be difficult to deal with. Olive is struggling with finding a balance and figuring out if she is as whole person outside of “Extra Virgin Olive Oil.”
Connections
Axl McQueen: Olive doesn’t know Axl very well, but what she does know, she doesn’t care for.
Tatiana Rodriguez: Tatiana and Olive have been best friends since the third grade. They met in Christian school, and Olive believed that they shared the same values. But lately it seems like Tatiana is preoccupied with boys, specifically Axl McQueen, and Olive isn’t so sure anymore.
Ivy Grant: Olive doesn’t trust Ivy’s sudden friendliness towards Tatiana, and she’ll look out for her best interest even if Tatiana won’t.

Tyler Lockwood was born and raised in Mystic Falls as the son of mayor Richard Lockwood and his wife Carol Lockwood. Tyler has been the best friend of Matthew Donovan ever since he was seven years old. Though unlike Matt, Tyler’s always been a reckless and wild guy - a popular jock who had a mean streak during his high school years. His father didn’t like that side of his son, mostly because he knew that Tyler had the werewolf gene and aggression would only bring him that much closer to triggering his curse. Just like his dad, his best friend often tried to calm him down too, especially whenever Tyler clashed with Jackson Whittemore, who he considered to be his rival. It was no lie that he strongly disliked it when their football coach Robert Finstock chose Jackson as Matt’s co captain. Naturally, Tyler wanted to be the one to lead the team alongside his best friend, so more often than not, he ended up in fights with Jackson. When his junior year was in full swing, Tyler started dating Victoria Donovan, who happened to be Matt’s sister. A lot of people didn’t consider it a relationship however, since Tyler very rarely treated her right and was even ashamed to be seen with her in public. He also didn’t want to bring Vicki around his parents, with his mother having high standards and his dad being the Mayor of Mystic Falls. He had to make a good impression, right? And since Vicki wasn’t from the same class household, Tyler preferred to keep his relationship with her hidden from the outside world. But with Tyler mistreating her for so long, it would only be a matter of time before she’d look for affection elsewhere - and she did. As his senior year rolled around, Vicki began doing drugs and sleeping with none other than Jeremy Gilbert who had just lost his parents and adoptive sister Elena Gilbert. Tyler didn’t know about this at first and both Jeremy and Vicki kept quiet about what they were doing, but secrets never stayed hidden in Mystic Falls. Once Tyler found out about his girlfriend and Jeremy, he became enraged and just like with Jackson, he started clashing with Jeremy too. It wasn’t that he wanted Vicki back, but he did feel hurt and betrayed and his aggression was getting the better of him - especially around and on the full moon. Still, Tyler had no idea that he had the werewolf gene, so he had no idea where all that rage was coming from. He chalked it up to his father pressuring him a lot as well as his girlfriend being unfaithful, never thinking that it could be something else.
After Damon Salvatore turned Vicki into a vampire, she became a danger to everyone around her and even ended up biting Tyler one night when he was about to drive home after football practice. It didn’t take long for Stefan Salvatore to drive a stake through her heart, knowing that Vicki was beyond saving and she would only do more damage if she remained alive. Tyler didn’t know how to deal with losing Vicki. She was the only person close to him that had passed away and he regretted treating her badly during their relationship. He started to realize that her turning to Jeremy had been his own fault. He should have been better to the girl he was dating, but he felt like he had no one to talk to about his feelings. That was, until Lydia Martin came along. Tyler had known her ever since he was seven years old, but the two had never been close, just in the same circle of friends. She knew that Tyler was just pretending and that he needed someone to be there for him after losing someone he felt close to. She’d been pretending to be shallow for so long and she knew that Tyler had been doing the very same thing for a long time. Both Lydia and Tyler had been pretending to the outside world, but deep down, they needed someone to understand them too. Deciding to finally open up to someone, Lydia approached Tyler and helped him through the difficult time that followed after Vicki died. The two dated on and off until Lydia graduated from high school and Tyler was pursuing a career as a police officer, just like Matt. He somehow still felt like he wasn’t good enough for her and he wanted her to be happy, so Tyler, wanting to be a better person, set Lydia free. Of course, he secretly never stopped missing her, but it wasn’t until a couple of months ago that he showed up on her doorstep again. He hadn’t seen her in such a long time and he wanted to check up on his ex girlfriend, but he knew that he’d just ruin her life if he knocked on that door. So instead, Tyler turned back around and left, deciding to let Lydia live her life so she could be happy while he watched from afar. He knew he’d never be enough for her, so Tyler figured it was time for both of them to move on. He’s been trying to focus on his career as a police officer alongside his best friend Matt while learning that his uncle Mason Lockwood has recently come to town. Tyler doesn’t know why Mason showed up just yet because the man has been kind of mysterious about it, but he has a feeling that it has something to do with his father somehow. Little does Tyler know that Mason is here to help him remain untriggered, since his dad doesn’t want his son to take a life and feel guilty about it for the rest of his own.
▼ TANGLED WEBS
Phoebe Lockwood
When Tyler was little, his father cheated on his mother with Phoebe’s mother during a business trip. Phoebe knows she has family here and she’s not afraid to ask around where the Lockwoods live. Tyler on the other hand has no idea about his half sibling even existing.
Mason Lockwood
Mason came to town when his brother called him, needing assistance with Tyler and the werewolf curse. Tyler’s dad, who never triggered, wants Mason to make sure his son doesn’t become a triggered werewolf and wants him to look out for his son.
Finn Mikaelson
Tyler has always seen Finn as an uncle, just like how he’s always seen Mason. He knows that Finn isn’t a Lockwood by blood, but he’s always been close to the older man all the same - especially after Mason left town and Tyler needed someone in his life, someone who wasn’t as strict as his dad.
Lydia Martin
Lydia and Tyler dated for about two years, but he somehow didn’t feel good enough for her, leading to them breaking up. They haven’t really spoken ever since and Tyler only recently found out that Lydia had a baby with someone else. He’s not sure how he feels about it, but Lydia misses having Tyler in her life and wants to see if she can have him back in it again.
Matthew Donovan
Tyler and Matt have been best friends ever since they were seven years old. The two always have one another’s backs and were also on the high school football team together. Tyler dated Matt’s sister before she died, but he wasn’t that good to her, which he now feels bad about. After Elena died, Tyler was there to support Matt and helped him through it and Matt has supported Tyler through his relationship with Lydia in return.
Jacob Foster
Tyler is another friend of Jake’s, having met him when a fight broke out at the fight club and Tyler was called to calm the situation along with some colleagues. Jake bought the other man a drink to thank him and they’ve been hanging out frequently ever since.
