opinions on the new two Bilderbuch songs?

I have to admit that their last few albums haven’t done much for me personally, so while I am still listening to everything up to and including Magic Life, I wasn’t even aware they had songs this new.

THAT SAID it was really interesting to see what they’ve been up to musically. Thoughts:

Softpower — A modern take on the psychedelic sound of Sgt. Pepper Hearts Club Band mixed with the sound of 00s children’s show intros (think American Dragon or something? Pfefferkörner even? It’s the beat I’m pretty sure but I can’t put my finger on it)

Dino — Same, but less psychedelics.

I appreciate the lyrics in some way, it’s not as much of the repetitive minimalistic Denglish that to me always sounds like a child repeating a line from a song it half understood ad infinitum (sie ist up to date ich bin up to date etc etc we get it). It’s still not as fun as it used to be, but the roots are still there I suppose? Watered down with beer, it feels like. A little slurred.

In conclusion: ….it’s interesting. I think both songs would probably shine if listened to late at night, when realities are blurring a bit. But in broad daylight they don’t do much for me.
