The idea of experiencing KH chronologically really fascinates me. Like, sure you don't have the same "aha!" moments, but when you really think about it, it creates a whole new slew of questions and mysteries and "aha" moments that would make a truly unique and different experience.
Like starting at UX and wondering what happened to Maleficent to bring her into the past and then going to KH1 and being like "oh is that when it happened?!" then to KH2 when she returns and being like "oh and that's when she made it back!". And seeing the time machine in UX only to see it again near the end of KH1 and having no idea what its doing there and wracking your brain trying to figure out how or why it's in Hollow Bastion(which is, admittedly, still a question but its not like we knew what that thing was prior to UX). Speaking of which, the pain it would cause to see Hollow Bastion in ruins after already seeing Radiant Garden and wondering what happened to the Organization Somebodies and if they made it out or not. And the shock of seeing the KH1FM Xemnas boss fight and wondering if it's MoM or Luxu and then realizing it reminds you just a little bit of that one BBS secret boss and wondering if that means anything. And imagine seeing Marluxia for the first time and going "Lauriam?!?! Is that you?! Wait, Elrena too???" and then endlessly questioning what happened to them. Oh, oh, and the shock of getting to Castle Oblivion in CoM and knowing how close Marluxia, Larxene, and Axel are to Ven but there's no way they can get to him. And then seeing Roxas at the beginning of Days and wondering if the Org got Ven too but then realizing it's not Ven and wondering who in the hell Roxas is then. And not knowing right away that something must happen to Xion to prevent her from being seen or mentioned in KH2 would make losing her be a complete surprise.
I could go on forever really, geez. But like, I don't think it would take away anything from the release order experience when it really just scrambles things around. Puts the questions and realization moments in new places basically and creates a whole new viewpoint. I really do wish I could know for myself what that experience is like. What fascinates me the most is probably getting to know MoM and Luxu right from the beginning and waiting the entire series to get back to them only to be hit with the shock of the KH3 ending. I feel like it would have an even bigger impact with all that extra time between getting to know them at the start and finally seeing them again after everything(or more like realizing Luxu's been there the whole time).
