Some thoughts on the choice of Carina Smyth's first name

Ngl even though there are many things I don't like about DMTNT, I think that Carina is like one of the best names that could be chosen for Barbossa's daughter. It sounds like a pretty regular name at first, but I think the backstory is what makes it actually a really great choice.

"Carina" is the name of a star constellation which is also known as "keel of the ship". In the german dub of the movie this is actually made more obvious, as Carina says that she's named after said star constellation, whereas in the original she says the the brightest star in the north (which is part of the constellation) gave her her name. Being named after a star constellation which resembles a ship (or at least a part thereof), her name is connected to both the stars and the sea, two focal points in Barbossa's life as a pirate and as a captain. He's a man of the sea and an exceptional navigator, and I think it's safe to assume that he has a very good knowledge of astronomy, particularly for navigational purposes. As he said himself, he knows which stars to follow home.

I like to think that Barbossa consciously chose his daughter's name because of its meaning. However, we unfortunately don't know under which conditions it was chosen, since we simply don't have enough information about his and Margaret Smyth's relationship. How many months before the birth did he learn that he was going to be a father? Were he and Margaret able to prepare for the changes in their lives that might come with having a child, did they make any plans for the future? Did they think up names together, and he suggested Carina, should they have a daughter? Or did Hector just return to land one day to learn his partner had died while he was at sea, and left him a child, and he had to come up with a name on the spot and the first thing that came to his mind were the star constellations?

I kind of doubt that we will get any canonical answers to those questions, so they are left to the realm of headcanons. I personally like to imagine that Barbossa chose the name carefully, and because of what it meant to him personally. Even though he kind of said in the movie that he never wanted his daughter to be associated with pirates (which happens to include himself), I think as her father he still wanted to make at least one meaningful impact on her life, which happened to be the choice of her name. Maybe also, in that way he would never forget her, since whenever he observed the sky and saw the star constellation Carina, he would also think of his daughter.

🟠 I previously wrote about how Aries Moon native didn't receive much attention from the opposite sex in younger years, which is why some when they receive much more attention, kinda turn into players. But now I concluded it's not only Aries Moon that didn't receive attention. It's also Pisces Moon. But for different reasons. They didn't receive much attention from the opposite sex, because they were focused on their own interests and were nerdy, bookworms, loved expanding their knowledge instead. Beware though, adult Pisces Moon can easily turn into players too. However, they usually just have some imaginary people that they think are after them haha, they invent fake stories of people thirsting after them to make themselves more appealing and to make others jealous.

🟠 I noticed real life Pisces Moon men try to “buy” their partner’s love and affection. They think if they won’t share resources with them or provide for them, buy them with gifts and favours, that the partner will leave. Some Pisces Moon men even pay women for sex. Now I also found a celebrity astrology example. Rapper Offset who is Pisces Moon native was accused by wife rapper Cardi B of paying women to have sex with him. My conclusion is Pisces Moon natives feel undeserving of love and feel they need to pay for it in order to get it.

🟠 I noticed a lot of women being fed up with Cancer Sun men stereotypes. They feel Cancer Sun men are being misrepresented of being clingy and needy due to many of them turning out cheaters. But honestly, I see Cancer Sun men cheating or not based on his Moon sign. It really depends on the sign, degree and how it is aspected. I most often noticed Cancer Sun men cheating if their Moon sign is Scorpio or Aquarius, Sagittarius and Pisces. While other Cancer Suns with Taurus, Libra, Virgo for example being fixated on their partner. There are a lot more traits in astrology community about Cancer Sun men, that people feel are slept on about them. Such as financial abuse, emotional manipulation, degrading, use of control. Some say never let a Cancer Sun man to move in your home.

🟠 One combination that is so under-rated, but one that I see often is Aquarius Sun and Scorpio Sun friendship. It’s much more rare to see these two date (but some still do!), Scorpio Sun most often goes for Virgo Sun instead Aquarius Sun, since they both are cerebral and logical. But Aquarius and Scorpio Sun friendships can be really common.

🟠 Scorpio Mercury/Mercury in the 8th house is just as bad to have as Gemini Lilith. You guys both see the worst traits of your sibling(s). The difference is that with Mercury you probably have a nasty way of communicating with each other, cursing each other out a lot, making threats or backmail each other. But with Lilith, there is so much jealousy and envy going on. You noticed your sibling being privileged in certain aspects of life starting by parents, later on by co-workers, the boss in the workplace.

🟠 Having Virgo Descendant is always easier than Gemini Descendant despite both being similar due to being Mercurial Descendants. With Virgo Descendant you are still able to be really organized, methodical and have a good sense of time management. While Gemini Descendants either have ADHD, poor time management skills, can be scared of certain social interactions, like calling in for a dentist’s appointment, having social anxiety, poor focus and concentration and can’t sit at once place for too long.

🟠 Also, Gemini and Virgo Descendants are both guilty of preparing words and what they are going to say before an interaction in advance.

🟠 Why are we not discussing enough how Gemini Sun people are misanthrope/dislike people despite being so communicative? I noticed so many not enjoying people and socializing with them as much, kinda fed up with people energy haha.

🟠 Taurus Sun people are the most conflict avoidant (even more than Libra Sun), but not due to being a people pleaser, but because they are not able to see when they are at a fault. They also don’t know how to even behave and reaction to a conflict. They have very poor conflict resolution skills. That’s why most of them avoid it in the first place. That and oh, their stomach gets upset or their whole body starts shaking.

🟠 Virgo Sun is prone to have health issues or catch a cold easily, but I beg to differ, have you seen a Cancer Sun? These guys have what it seems a never-ending cold the whole winter season. They seem to have weak immune system and really sensitive bodies. I have yet to see a healthy Cancer Sun.

🟠 Leo Lilith, Lilith in the 5th house, Lilith at a Leo degree (5, 17, 29) people attract people that date them for how much attention the native is receiving. They attract people that want to “still their light”, make them feel less confident and self-assured. These natives also often attract Capricorn Sun/Venus or Venus in the 10th house, Venus at a Capricorn degree (10, 22) people.

[interviewer] So, What was the thought process behind this album?

[Y/N] All these songs are a part of a giant collection of songs while i was going through a lot of feelings haha. Most of these were my inner thoughts and feelings that I couldn't express to anyone else so I wrote them out. they’ve only now came out because I was finally confident in myself and these songs after years and my members helped build my courage to share them with you all.

[Interviewer] I’m happy that you were finally able to overcome your fears with your songs.

[Y/N] Thank you so much

[Interviewer] Do you think you could go more in depth about the song meanings?

[Y/n] Yea, of course. The first song on the album can be interpreted in multiple ways in my opinion. When I wrote this, I was thinking about someone I loved truly. I wrote this wishing that the way they ended it could’ve been that we just fell out of love. I wanted us to be tired of each other, to just want it to be over and so I wrote this point of view wishing this was the reality, even though I knew how much I still loved them. It’s very sad and kinda pathetic but yea haha.

For the second track, I wrote this because in this same relationship, the way we broke up was so rushed and I was not ready for it. I felt like they didn’t even feel anything towards me anymore and it broke me down so much. By the end of the song, I kinda accept it as the end and try to let them go.

Ah~ This third track was actually wrote when i was first in that relationship. We were both falling hard and fast and I had to let it out in a way. I can’t really explain more.

[Interviewer] And lastly, the fully english track?

[Y/N] This one really talks about how even if I’ll be in another relationship in the future, I’ll only think about and try to find them in the other person. I wrote this the latest out of all of them. I knew I was still in love with this person even though it’s been years since the breakup but I know I’ll always see them as my first and only love even if they don’t see me the same way.

Needless to say, your interview was seen by alot of people. Neitzens have been picking it apart since it came out, speculating on the mystery person you were talking about. Your fans were both happy for you and angry for you; ready to fight the person who broke your heart. Though the publicity was great for your album sales and streams, the constant news was really tiring now, especially now that you were promoting at music shows. Music shows that your ex, S.Coups of Seventeen, was also promoting at with his group. Singing a song about your heartbreak in the same place of the person who hurt you so bad, was awkward to say the least. The waiting room of the music show was the worst. passing by him and his group makes your heart pound. His eyes follow you when you pass by each other. you try not to meet his eyes. Your heart just couldn’t handle it. Your still wanted him yet you hated him at the same time. You wanted to kiss him again but also wanted to hit him. The last conversation you both had together was him breaking up with you. He hurt you so badly yet you yearned for him.

So when he approached you before your performance, you felt conflicted.

“Y/n?” The familiar voice fills your ears and you look up at the man standing infront of your sitting figure.

“Seungcheol? What are you doing” You didn’t actually think he would speak to you again, but here he was.

“Can we- can we talk?” He pauses, licking his lips nervously “I know you probably never want to speak to me ever again but I just want a second of your time.”

“You really have horrible timing. I going on stage in a few minutes. Please don’t do this now. You had two years to talk about this,” You look away from his, glancing to the side “We can talk.. after the music show is over. The music show ends entirely too quickly for your liking, leg bouncing nervously in your dressing room and when you hear a knock at the door you know it’s Seungcheol. You open the door, the man in front of you quickly walking in and closing the door again.

“Seungcheol,” You try to sound disinterested but inside you just want to hug him. “Please just say what you have to say”

“I just want to say I’m so sorry for the way I ended things. I know I hurt you beyond belief and it hurts that I hurt you. I watched your interview and.. god.. I care about you so much.. I never wanted to break up with you but I had to..” His eyes brim with tears and he lets out a haggard breath.

“Then why did you? Five years, Seungcheol. I loved you for five years, hell, I still love you after what you did, but, just why? I felt like I wasted all those years for nothing. I want to marry you… I wanted to have everything with you.. You were my first everything and you hurt me like I was nothing..” You were choking on your tears at this point, the salty liquid pooling in you lips “You were more than just a boyfriend to me, Seungcheol. You were the love of my life.”

“Y/n.. I.. I didn’t break up because I wanted to.. your company found out.. they threatened your career if I didn’t break up with you.. I tried to convince them to let us be, but they were persistent and my company was pressuring me as well.. I shouldve fought for you more.. I’m so sorry. I wanted to tell you what was happening but… I was a coward. I never stopped loving you, y/n.. You’re the love of my life too. I had every intention of being with you until the day I died, and I want to fight for you now even though I didn’t before.”

The shock of what he said lingers in your mind. You look at him without saying anything. He sat down next to you, letting you process his words. After some time you finally spoke.

“I dont know what to say,” You start “I believe you even though that means my company did this too me but.. I dont know. I want to forgive you. I want you, Cheol. I want you to be in my life again. but it took me so long to recover from this. I dont know if we’ll ever be what we were before,” He looks down at his feet in defeat “But we can try..” He looks up at you again, eyes brightening.

He finally smiles, “You dont understand how badly I missed you…” He hugs you tightly before looking into your eyes and then looking down at your lips “can I..” You nod slowly, waiting for his lips to touch yours.

He kisses your lips with hunger, holding on to you for fear you might run away “Missed you.. Misses your touch.. ‘m so sorry, my love” He pushes you flat on the couch you were sitting on, kissing you face and neck with desire. He missed this so much. “I love you, baby. Honestly, first time noticing the names in Simon's contact list I was just like 'haha cute references' and didn't pay it much mind. But looking at them again, and really thinking about them. The Implications here, like Most Things About Simon's Life Right Now, are pretty tragic....

Like, Abracadaniel and Lady Island and Gunter (and BMO if you take into consideration the comic's continuity) are not Simon Petrikov's friends, they were Ice King's friends.

You know, like, yeah, everyone except Marcy knew Ice King way way before they got to know Simon. But at least with folks like Finn, finding out about Simon is a huge reason why he started being kinder and friendlier to him. And Bubblegum probably is only fond of Simon know in spite of him being Ice King.

But Abracadaniel and Lady Island liked Ice King without having any frame-of-reference or concept of 'Simon Petrikov' in their heads. They were Ice King's friends.

And Simon's phone is pretty distinctly, like, a realistic early 2000's cellphone. A total contrast to all the magical/sci-fi/cobbled-together looking cellphones everyone else in Ooo uses

And Ice King himself, I'm pretty sure we've only ever seen him use either a normal-looking landline or the Bananaphone

So I'm assuming this phone was maybe found buried somewhere in the Past Room, or maybe was unearthed while they were preparing for that '20th Century Man' exhibition and Simon also takes it along for personal use. But either way, Simon had to deliberately put those numbers of Friends of the Ice King in his contact list.

It might be something as simple as having transferred the data from some of Ice King's old communication devices and then just... despite it all Simon just doesn't have the heart to delete these names. The same way you or I might not have it in us to the delete the numbers of friends of ages past or increasingly-distant acquaintances or dead relatives.

Or maybe Simon did try and preserve their friendship at first. Or maybe the friends did. And obviously it didn't work out.

I mean, I can kinda see maybe Simon getting along fine with Lady Island because IK was relatively Grounded interacting with her so maybe the change to Simon won't be that much of a difference to her. ....But that can also create problems if she has a hard time seeing the difference between Simon Petrikov and Ice King, that would really make him uncomfortable.

But there really is zero chance Simon managed to keep things going normal with Abracadaniel. A Wizard who originally bonded with Ice King because he saw him as a cool Wizard. Not to mention Gunter is currently a living incarnation of the very Crown that cursed Simon in the first place and a manifestation of Gunter's love of Ice King

so... yeah, I think in Simon's current state any interaction he had with those two was unbearably awkward and just another thing that will make him miss being Ice King in a twisted way.

And yet... despite wanting so badly to define himself as distinctive and different from Ice King ("I didn't write those! Ice King wrote those!") and to not be reminded of him.... Simon still keeps all these people in his contact list.

Not me deciding that I wanna figure out how does Macaques dojo work, cuz I couldnt seem to find any ideas of it on the internet lol

Okay so long long LONG rant:

Ik that in canon the whole place looks kinda-- moldy and shit and I get the lot of hc about how Macaque probably doesnt even live there since its in a very industrial outer neighborhood of Megaplois, and also it probably isnt really decorated or looks like someone is living in there at all, but I like to think that he has standards and they put like 272636373 nois cancelation seals on their bedroom so he can sleep camly when he actually can sleep (since in my hc Macaque suffers from insomnia (its a pretty common hc tho, but you get it)) and I think the outer circle of Megaplois is even tho industral and under constructuion on most parts, its probably more quiet than downtown

And I also like to imagine, Macaque even tho if not commited to a place will make it more homy. But looking at my reference pictures, in the dojo there were also a lot of posters and paintings (and in MKAGC Macaque did mention he might have a poster of wukong soooo~~)

For the layout I went after whatever felt right, since I had like 4 pictures to piece together a two-story house with a gallery(??) so its actually just me deciding what I want and where I wanna put it

Okay Okay if you couldnt tell, for some reason im really hyped about this stuff so im going to lead you trough my thougtprocess, when imagining this whole thing, in order from ground level to gallery

1. Ground level:

Ahh yes ground level: the problem child

(Im going to keep it somewhat brief here cuz I wrote a shit ton of explanations for it, but that somehow got deleted which I am super pissed about btw)

So I saw that a lot of hc with Macaques place are mostly that first floor is the dojo and the second floor is the living area, buuut~~ based on the screenshots of the series that doesnt make any sense. My reasoning? Simple really, its bc you can see the ceiling If you are standing in the dojo. This could lead to the conclusion that:

"Okay maybe then there is no second floor just a gallery in there somewhere and thats it".

Sure we can say that, but then you would ignore the fact that you cant see the front door of the building when Macaque slams Mk into a weaponstand.

"Okay then its on the other side of the room that we never got to see in the episode"

I mean maybe sure but to me from an animation point of view it just doesnt make sense, just why would they flipp the camera angle like that (I mean anyone can think whatever they want, everyones opinion is valid, its not like anyone would ever argue me on this one ((or read this whole brainrot trough in the first place lol)))

Haha anyways regardless of anything, let's go back to talking about the first floor, shall we?

Everything is pretty self explenatory: when you come in on the front door youll see a little shoe rack where you can but your shoes, and one stair to seperate the ante-room from the rest of the house

Then theres a long hall that leads to the enterence of the storageroom, the random room and the staircase that leads to the second floor

I couldnt decide on what to put in that big room-- I had no clue -- I was thinking maybe Macaque could let other people rent it for a few days of maybe theres a shop with an owner whos ranting the place from Macaque (I think thats an interasting concept, but I didnt explore any of them) oh well thats that tho

Second floor:

This was probably the easiest, since 90% of it is the dojo

But before that when you walk up to the second floor you can see a big boubel door that opens to the dojo, and a normal door that opens to the bathroom, which is strategicly placed there by yours truely. There is big brain logic behind it,, it might be inconvinient for Macaque to walk down the stairs from his bedroom trough the dojo to the bathroom (but also he can just shadow portal there--), but when ocasionally he mentors Mk, he might have to go to the bathroom while hes at Macaques place and I dont think Macaque would apritiate someone stomping trough his personal area, and thats why the bathroom is conviniently placed next to the dojo and not that far from the bathroom I know im a genius (**read everything in the bathroom part with a lot of sarcasm**)

Anyways, we couldnt even see all four of the dojos walls so that was also a 'gamble', but I went with a simple bouble door that I mentioned before and two weapon stands (yes those are weapon stands) and other than that you can see the rest of the room on the screenshots, theres also the staircase and that has some closet underneath it, but thats about it

The gallery (my personal favorit):

Looking at my reference pictures i could see that the dojo took up a lot of space almost taking up the 1/2 of the building, which I think is reasonable and kinda cool, but that means small living area which I think is even cooler (I am a huge fan of small practical spaces, they feel so so cozy)

So Yeah the living space: mostly two rooms that I also illustrated on top of this post, (you probably saw it) with a balkony thingy before the enterence of the rooms, where you can look down and see the entirety of the dojo, good for observing.

When you go in the door (actually havent decided if I want to put a door there or curtains for style but meh who knows who cares), youll enter the small but spacious kitchen. I dont see the Six Eared Macaque as a homecook, more of a fake cooking guy (only making basic foods like eggs or toast, maybe ocasionally pancake), hints there is no built in stove or owen just a portable stove, a kettle and a toaster and a small fridge that has MKs drawing (that he drew for them at the end of season 3) magneted there :]

Other than that theres a sink and an old television, he got from the randomest place ever, maybe he fished it out of the trash idk, but he put it on top of the cabinets (rarely watches anything on it)

On the baseplan you can see that there was supposed to be a small table next to the sink with a chair, but it didn't make it to the final drawing cuz let's be honest: drawing interior in correct perspective without a reference picture is just not my strongest artskill I posess, so I got pissed and put a trashcan in there, Macaque can eat in his bed

Talking about bed, let's move on to the Six Eared Macaques room:

It is very small but pretty comfortable with a small bed but a shit ton of pillows for a good nights sleep, other than that there are a nightstand that has the Lantern on it (I know it sorta got lost/destroyed after defeating LBD but I wanted to put it there) and a drawer.

The nightstand probably doesnt have a lot innit, just some nick-nacks and tissues and maybe snacks, or a book or something, the drawer stores some of his clothes, but since I like to think that Macaque is a fashion icon that wont be able to fit most of their clothes, so maybe he stores them in a pocket dimension of shadows, and only has some esentials there when he needs to get ready quickly.

And we could talk about the posters plastered around the room, but most of them are kinda self-explanatory, but there are the poster of his shadowplaly of the hero and the warrior, some drawing, a "Hang in there babygirl!" Poster with a cat on it hanging in there, a poster of the monkey king (heh), phantom of the opera poster and a-- well--- that ones for my bestie hope she'll notice it, its a spies are forever poster (really fun musical a of spies, go watch it its on youtube), and a drawing he brought( maybe)

And thats about the bedroom

And we are still not done, how are we feeling about that?? Huh?? (You dont have to answert, this shit took me about 2 hours to write :] )

LAST PLACE: the corner of the windows opposit the kitchen and the bedroom. Its just a chill little place with pillows and blankets, where someone can bundle up and enjoy some tea or read a book or brood, whatever the monkey prefers. The special thing about it, is that you cant access the place without knowing how to levitate, fly, jump high, or use portals, not that much of a game changer since more than half of the lmk cast could get up there, but still a bit of a barrier in my opinion

Camus character analysis: games VS anime

If you finished the Uta no Prince-sama anime and your opinion of this man is "wow, he's kinda terrible," I don't blame you. in fact I've seen a lot of people say this

In this post, I want to talk about his characterization in the games and give my two cents on what the anime was trying to do with him, especially in his single focus episode Saintly Territory (S3E6).

Disclaimer: I wrote this on a whim because I'm sick and stuck at home so if anyone reads this, sorry I might go all over the place

Spoilers for all of the games!

The "be my slave" thing

Starting with Anime Camus's most egregious crime: treating Haruka like a servant/slave (however you want to translate it)

Basically in his focus episode, Haruka is tasked with writing a song for Camus. She wants to learn more about him in order to write it, but Camus will only let her follow him if she acts as his servant. She accepts without complaining, Cecil is rightfully angry, Haruka continues anyway and the song gets completed.

Now, am I about to say that Game Camus would never do this? No because he literally does lmao.

The anime doesn't pull this "servant" plotline out of nowhere, here's the context in his route:

Haruka accidentally overhears Camus talking about a plot to assassinate Saotome on the phone. When he notices that she heard everything, he basically tells her that he has to kill her now. But if she served him, he'd be able to keep an eye on her, make sure she doesn't leak anything, so she could escape death.

Okay uh "work under me or DIE" isn't exactly better, nor is it a good start to a love story, but I'm not finished!!

(A side note: I have to add that the anime made him look like an even bigger asshole and borderline dumb when it came to the things he made her do. Like he expected her to know that snapping your fingers means you want coffee without prior explanation. bro

^This might have been for comedic effect but I promise he can be actually funny and endearing.)

What the anime couldn't cover

The Camus episode wraps up with Haruka pulling through and writing a song that makes Camus "sincere," he says it's cool at the very end and that's the episode. I think the problem is that we technically didn't see him being sincere or what that even means to him, besides when he was singing (banger song btw)

It's a shame because in a 20-minute episode you really can't show the game experience of slowly piecing together what this man's problem is.

First of all, in Debut and AS you'll be quick to notice that he always has homeland and duty on the mind, constantly reminding himself that he's in Shining Agency/Japan for a reason, and it's NOT to have fun or make friends

The truth is, he slowly starts to appreciate the banter with his colleagues, music, and working there in general.

But because of his initial mindset, he has to rationalize & justify every connection he forms, like "it's just for work" or worse: "actually it was ALL A LIE and I NEVER ENJOYED A SECOND OF THE TIME WE SPENT TOGETHER, I'm such a great actor haha"

He uses that to fool himself and to push the other person away so it doesn't happen again. This scene is probably the best example:

He also does this in the Non-Fiction drama, which may or may not have actually happened, but I think it's still a pretty good reflection of what could happen in reality because he tells Ranmaru their bond was a lie, then mopes around in his guilt thinking about the good times and wondering why he's sad, and THEN later doubles down on the "it was a lie, I don't care about you" because he just can't let himself get attached to anything.

Basically, he's terrified at the thought of forming actual bonds because he genuinely thinks he's nothing if he stops being a cold weapon:

At one point he does admit he sucks (as a love interest)-

-which is pretty huge by utapri standards. I love these games, but the amount of times where a male lead does something icky, and everyone, including Haruka, acts like it's normal or like it's Haruka's fault is ehhh but I digress

Upbringing

Of course he's very proud of his homeland and status, but sometimes it's to the point of thinking he can't be anything other than his title. So why is he like this?

We got to hear about his childhood from Camus himself a few times, and it often ended with Haruka thinking "wait? that's kinda messed up?" and Camus insisting it's nothing/it's normal so yeah that's something...

His parents were in an unhappy arranged marriage, and his mother was forced to birth an heir which traumatized her so much that she can't see Camus without falling ill. Overall it's a pretty tragic situation since what happened to her was horrible, though not Camus's fault either. Even now she refuses to see him, and I wouldn't say that makes him sad because he never really met her, but simply knowing of her sacrifice probably adds a lot of pressure. As in, he only exists for this one purpose (inheriting his father's title and serving the country), so if he doesn't play his part correctly, it would have all been for nothing.

He was raised by his father not as a child or son but as the heir, always treated and judged as an adult (even during physical training apparently, make of that what you will)

When Haruka asks about childhood memories he has a very hard time finding something that doesn't have to do with his duties or the nation. And then admits he didn't truly have a "childhood" since he was never treated like a child

As for the queen, I think his love for her is sincere: she taught him a lot of things growing up, and according to him, she's also a victim trapped by her duties so he wants to ease the burden.

So hypothetically, if he found things or people that made him happy in Japan, he would feel obligated to lock them away because that happiness is incompatible with his life: he'll have to leave when his mission ends, he shouldn't be spending time on things that aren't "useful" as he doesn't have the free will to pursue them

In his mind he's completely tied down by the fact that he was born and raised for a single reason, and the fact that he does want to serve the queen.

Also it might sound ridiculous to bring his self-worth into question because of how pretentious he is, but I've counted a few situations where he seemed to have complete disregard for his own life, only worrying about Haruka and Cecil's safety in scenes when they were present. And he thinks wanting to be loved unconditionally is a childish thought he shouldn't have.

"Double Face" was a lie. There's like at least 10 layers

On the surface he does have two personas, his perfect polite butler act for the media, and his cold bitchy attitude off camera. But honestly, even when he's not acting as a butler, he's often putting up a front to hide any form of vulnerability (from himself as well)

His main struggle is finding who he is outside of what he's being told to do. Before, he never actually stopped to think about what he WANTS because it just never occurs to him, or if it does he ignores it.

That's why realizing that he has his own desires is essential to his character development, and him staying with Quartet Night (and Haruka in his routes) is so important. It's why Reiji feels the need to reach out and when he does, Camus either freezes up or tears up;

This all makes him the opposite of Ranmaru (being true to yourself and sincere), and similar to Ai (gradually learning to view the world in a less cold and logical way), but I kind of want to save that for another post lmao

He is especially hard on Cecil because Cecil says & does whatever he wants, and everything still works out for him, which is a way of life that Camus can't imagine for himself at all (despite maybe wanting it?)

That he can realize this and eventually admit out loud, despite all his pride, is also one of my favorite things about him

Season 2 does hint at something, so that's pretty cool!

Side note, I really love that his theme in the new Oracle series is "Change," the melting of ice.

So what was the anime supposed to do??

Of course there's no way to show all this in a single episode or even during the runtime of the anime, and I never expected them to because the story is very surface-level (that goes for all characters).

It's just unfortunate since the anime is the most accessible and well-known utapri media in the western fandom, and the character's main episode is bound to leave the biggest impression.

I understand the choice of being laser-focused on the servant plotline, it's supposed to be funny (?) and waters him down to a trope that's easy to understand at first glance (the step-on-me guy I guess)

Still, I can't help but compare it to Ranmaru's episode, who was also hard to work with in the games but was chill in S3E7 and got to pet cats. Anime onlys will never know how much Camus loves to dote on his dog smh.....

You kinda put me on the spot there. Not bc I don't have big headcanons but bc I'm like how do I phrase this without being like "here's the plot of that fic I wrote" yk? And now I'm unsure what constitutes a big headcanon... so I'm just gonna give you some more random ones and maybe you can help me out with what you were thinking of? (O.O)

For Epic specifically: Her owl form is a dark barn owl, bc they're really pretty and rare and have ginger feathers that match her hair

She dislikes Poseidon so much because he's so much like her father but her perception of him isn't softened by the love she has for Zeus.

Prometheus really saved her after Pallas's death. He kinda filled the void that losing Triton as a paternal figure had left more so than that of Pallas herself, but he took her along for his little creation projects (like the humans whoops) and they really match each other's freak. Yk. Until Zeus takes Prometheus away and definitely forbids Athena from visiting. I will literally murder him one of these days.

Speaking of Zeus taking people away, Athena was STRUGGLING after Pallas. Unsurprisingly, but still. Nobody but Hephaestus knows her from when she was still pretty openly mourning, they're all too young, and he never really asked why, but my girl was so depressed and lonely. She spend IRL HOURS in Quick Thought rewatching that battle and trying to figure out the moment where she went wrong. She knows Zeus intervened, but it doesn't matter to her, it's her spear, it's her kill. He was all like "for a nymph?" when she asked to take Pallas's name. "well, if you think that is a title worthy of your status..." It was her most open rebellion against his wishes for a while.

Her favorite domain is wisdom, but it's followed by crafting, not war. Don't get me wrong, she enjoys a good fight, but if she had to choose and wasn't worried about Zeus's opinion, she would choose crafting over war any day. The reason in my hc is how the domains are assigned, she was basically born with Wisdom, her powers are all about thought, and Zeus later assigned her with warfare which her powers work well with, but weren't technically meant for it. Meanwhile crafting is her "Passion domain" meaning her power in it literally stems from her intense enjoyment for creating. Imagine "What else can I do" from Encanto, but it's her discovering making clothes for the first time. The angst factor of this obviously being "My life has one mission, create the greatest warrior" Why is that her one mission? Is it the crushing weight of who she has to be?

My favorite bigger concept has to be her relationship with truth. In other words, Athena lies and manipulates her way through life, she is smarter than her father but knows he holds the power, so her council is whatever works in the moment, if she knows it's hopeless, she'll tell him what he wants to hear. Life has become a game for her, a game where she sells her soul for approval, bc she's lost those who loved her unconditionally, and can't trust those around her bc they're all trapped in the game with her, she doesn't want to be the favorite, she needs to be the favorite, it's the only way to survive, the only way for some semblance of safety and control, and yes, she gets along with mortals better than gods because they hold no power over her, they can't threaten the position she's worked so hard to achieve. Until Odysseus compromises a part of her that she hadn't thought she still had. Attachment never felt like danger with Pallas, but it does now, because what does it matter if you're more powerful when you respect the other person too much not to honor their wishes, should they tell you to leave them alone? If asked, she will have to leave, and that's terrifying (None of that would be overly conscious before My goodbye but for me, that breakup deep down always will be Athena being scared of her own feelings and trying to stop it before it goes too far and being at least 15 years too late.)

who would’ve thought that this much would happen in the span of a few weeks?

he brought his head closer to hers, partly as an attempt to keep her warm when he saw her nose and cheeks pink with the cold, and partly as a way to use his lips to kiss the chill away. he knew the warmth that spread from both your hearts when he did so would be enough to keep this cold away.

he rested his forehead on hers, taking in as much of her as he could, as long as he still could. “you know i can’t promise you anything.”

“i know. i can’t promise you anything, either.”

“is it too self-destructive of us to keep thinking this way? shouldn’t i be the happy one?”

“no, i think you’ve always been more realistic than the others. you’re just being that right now.”

“you know, i already saw my upcoming schedules for when i return. it’s almost as if i want to just hide away in my room here at home again.”

“i can’t even begin to imagine what it would look like.” she chuckles.

“you know on the calendar app how it’s supposed to be neat blocks? for some reason, they all overlap. but they work? i don’t understand it either? this is why i leave all that to the manager hyungs. practice and performing and variety take up too much of my head as is.”

“ya,” she says, using her finger to guide his chin and forcing his gaze back to hers. she starts tracing lazy circles on the apple of his cheek before he catches her hand and kisses her palm, peppering kisses down to her wrist. he couldn’t get enough of her—as he should. he couldn’t believe he was leaving her behind.

“yaaaaaa! seungkwan-ah!” she laughs in protest as he almost tackles her with kisses to her cheeks, her chin, her nose. quick pecks to her lips prevent her from saying more in between her giggles. night was falling, the street lamps started glowing. his hood was still up. and he didn’t care who he was at that moment. he was just a young man in love with a woman he saw the beauty of hope in.

when he finally stops his surprise attack, he has her in his arms and resting against his chest. “i never pegged you to be a guy all about pda, seungkwannie.”

“i’m not. it’s just…you.” his arms instinctively wrap tighter around her. she hopes he never has to let go.

“don’t forget to rest, okay?” she looks back at him to prove her point was serious. “really. do not forget to rest.”

“alright~”

“don’t do your aegyo on me! i’m serious. please. i don’t want to see you again so sad.”

“you won’t. i promise. i will rest. i will be better. for carats, for my members, for my family and friends, for binnie. for you. for myself.”

she nods in approval. “alright~”

she held onto his hand tight. “don’t forget me.” tears threatened to fall.

Jonathan’s line about Steve in vol 2 was so…. I don’t know. I mean yeah it straight up confirms that Nancy and Jonathan make fun of Steve behind his back, and like I get that I have never been in Nancy’s situation so obviously it seems more mortifying to me, but I would have felt so guilty in her place. I can’t imagine not shutting Jonathan up if he started shit talking about Steve. Like Steve would have been straight up unmentionable if I was Nancy. Idk.

I get that Duffers don’t treat their characters emotional lives seriously, but like. That’s why Robin being kind to Nancy in s5 despite Nancy’s uh.. well frankly appalling attitude towards Robin, makes zero sense to me. I really wanted Nancy to struggle being in Steve’s group. Not in the “she deserves it bhahaha” way, but like… Steve dumped his friends for her (which was good for him), and her expecting to get the same treatment and meeting Robin instead? Who actively dislikes her and for a good reason? Who is smart and cool and kind? That’s way more interesting than people kissing Nancy’s ass the whole season, while she is actively putting Max’s life in danger. Like, yeah in high school she is the chief editor of the newspaper, and at home she is the eldest sister, and with Jon she makes fun of Steve, and now none of these people are here, but Steve is here and so is his bestie. And Steve is as kind as always, but Robin dislikes her, and it is not just prejudice

You're right, it's kinda bonkers because even if we take the stance that Nancy didn't cheat (which I believe she did) like. she still had him as her second choice and as soon as he pushed back a bit and didn't give her the kind of support she wasn't telling him she needed (until talking about exposing the lab in the library where anyone could hear) she jumped ship and ran to Jonathan. She got so nervous and tried to explain and defend herself, and Nancy only really started to listen once they got into the hospital. Nancy has a not great plan that puts one of the kids in danger, one of the kids Steve is close to. (Max wrote him a letter!!) I think Robin would really see Steve's people as her people, even if she wasn't personally close to them she'd still feel comfortable around the younger teens because Steve is? Let robin be critical of this plan. Let her call it out or something. Give Nancy someone to push against, it's no fun if there's no resistance! I want Nancy to be the one wanting friendship with Robin, and Robin not being receptive to it. Nancy not having a relationship handed to her would be refreshing and I want to see how she'd try to win Robin's friendship.

Let Robin not want to work with Nancy because she's heard the rumours about how her and Steve ended, even though he only mentioned that he wasn't a good boyfriend ans wasn't what she needed so it didn't work out. Robin saw that one week Steve and Nancy had a fight, and a day later she was ditching with Jonathan? yeah something is fishy there to even the most socially oblivious person. Let Robin know Steve well enough that she knew he at least thought he was telling the truth but that there must have been more. Let Robin decide she was going to do the most cliche best friend thing and not be very nice to the ex that broke her bestie's heart.

ooooh anon what you're saying is so interesting because, yeah. Steve dumped Tommy and Carol for Nancy, and that was good for him, and then Nancy got with Jonathan who doesn't really have any friends in Hawkins. So she's always been her boyfriend's main person of similar age they're close to. But now Steve's got Robin. Who is funny and kind and weird and loyal and smart and sarcastic. Who is obsessed with Steve and who Steve is also obsessed with. And that, from a s5 stancy pov, is so interesting because now Nancy is now competing (in her mind) for her boyfriend/potential bf's attention with his best friend. Like Jonathan was focused on his family, obviously (and this caused strain for them too) but it's not the same socially as a best friend taking priority. Steve would still hold those relationships, because they're good for him and good for the others, and there's zero reason for him to abandon them this time.

I think Nancy would hate it. Like Steve would obviously give her tonnes of attention, but with him having actual close friendships not just with Robin but Dustin and Max (at least) too, she'd still feel like she was bartering for time with him. That is suuuuch a fun potential dynamic between nancy and steve and also nancy and steve's friends.

Soos was doing a tour and Abuelita was...somewhere. Old lady is like a ninja.

You're a little surprised that the family could still stay in the shack now that it belonged to Soos.

Mabel's quiz is covered in glitter, stickers, and colorful gel pens. Dipper's is more straight forward, with the occasional drawing on the side. Stan's is more stain covered, mostly from breakfast. Ford has his written out in cursive and some math equations for some reason?

You start with the younger twins quizzes first.

Taking the fluffy pen that Mabel offered, you start the quiz. Mostly checking off the "I don't know." box on some random little things that weren't revealed in the show or books. You took bathroom breaks when you needed to and ate the snacks that would be left by Dipper or brought by Waddles. The quizzes were unbelievably long, longer than any test you've taken before.

Most of the day was you taking the quizzes and after a few hours you finally got tired during Ford's quiz, crashing out on the table.

The one to find you passed out was Mabel.

She took a quick picture of your sleeping face and taped it into her scrapbook before saving the quizzes from being drooled on. Then she called Dipper to help her carry you to the couch.

"Do you think they're telling the truth?", Dipper asks as he grabs a blanket.

You were successfully transfered to the couch and Mabel was looking over the quizzes.

"They got a good amount of answers correct.", his twin confirms. "Haha, they even wrote down some of your internet history!", she laughs.

"Wait, what!?", Dipper screeches.

"I'm joking! Haha, gullible.", Mabel wipes a tear away. "Wouldn't be surprised if they knew though. It was in the book."

"But what if they are working with or for Bill? I don't want us to go through all that again.", her brother says. "We should keep a close eye on them just in case.", he covers you with a blanket.

"I know you're right but I'm kinda hoping they're not.", she sighs. "Lets go."

The twins walk out of the room and you open your eyes after a few minutes.

"Understandable trust issues.", you sigh.

You woke up as soon as Mabel moved the papers but were too tired to actually get up. Maybe you should have "woken up" before they moved you to the couch but what was done is done.

Maybe things will get better after all of the quizzes and odd adventures. You think and curl up on the couch. At least, I hope there are adventures..

Then you think about your best friend, hoping they are ok, wherever they are.

Hopefully they didn't run into Bill. Now that would be a nightmare.

"Oh please, you don't need that much sleep. Humans only start hallucinating after forty-eight hours. You've been getting two minutes of actually sleep when you're talking to me. So it's fine.", the triangle waves it off like its nothing.

"I want to sleep! ACTUALLY SLEEP! And I can't do that with you barging into my head like you own the place! So wait outside the barrier you fucking jerk!", you say and huff. "Be polite for once and knock!"

"Come on! I'm bored!", he whines.

You have a "don't talk to me unless you want to die" face on today. So a good amount of the Pines family steer clear of you when you pass by.

Not Mabel though.

"Yeesh! You look like Dipper when he's up all night after obsessing over something.", she laughs.

There's a distant offended 'Hey!' coming from somewhere in the shack but you don't really care for it at the moment and do a slow frog blink. One eye after the other.

"But seriously, you ok?", she asks.

You groan and turn your head to face her.

At the moment you were in the living room, sitting at the game table, trying to catch some sleep or at least some quiet but still be within eye range so the family doesn't freak out.

It's been a bit weird. Most of the Pines are on edge around you but you make sure to reassure them that you're not a threat with little gestures. One being that you tell Ford about the latest Bill dream you had. The older twin agrees that the triangle is very annoying when he's bored.

"I'm fine Mabel. I just need to sleep but it's just not happening.", you yawn and frog blink again. "What time is it?"

She tells you it's a little past one in the afternoon, frowning a bit when you unintentionally force yourself to wake up. Then she slams her hands on the table and smiles.

"I have an IDEA!", she cheers out and rushes off somewhere.

All of the background noise is muffled, there's a distant ringing noise coming from your right ear and it's starting to get annoying with how long it's been going on.

"DIPPER!I'MTAKINGTHEGOLFCARTTODAY!ALSOTAKINGOURDIFFERENTUNIVERSEFRIENDWITHME!OK,BYEEEEE!", Mabel rushes out as she runs back into the living room, pulls you up out of the seat which wakes you up a bit, and drags you out of the shack while snatching the keys for the golf cart. (Dipper! I'm taking the golf cart today! Also taking our different universe friend with me! Ok, byeeeee!)

"Wait, what!? Mabel!", Dipper yells from upstairs.

You're tossed into the golf cart and Mabel quickly rushes around the little vehicle and starts it, turning the wheel and pressing on the gas pedal to head out towards town.

"MABEL!", her brother yells from the door. "I needed the cart today!"

It's no use as the golf cart is already a good distance away from the shack and his twin has no plans on turning back.

You think you might have fallen asleep with your eyes open but you're not entirely sure if you were just daydreaming or you saw some weird alien looking thing, but then again you are in Gravity Falls.

Mabel stops at a big looking house and pulls you out of the golf cart, dragging you over through the gates, a pretty big yard, and finally you both are at the front door.

"WHO IS THAT?", a familiar deep voice asks.

"And why are they sleeping? They look like a zombie.", another familiar voice says.

"Candy, Grenda, this is the current mystery friend I've been telling you about!", Mabel says and shakes your body a bit like it's a noodle. "They've had a rough few days and need a spa day."

Someone, you don't know who, rings the door bell.

It only takes a few seconds before someone opens it and its yet another familiar voice.

"Ugh, Mabel. Why do you have a dead body?", Pacifica asks.

"Not dead, just sleep deprived..", you groan.

You are then taken into the fancy house, guided to walk through some doors, and plopped down in a changing room. A towel and some spa clothes are tossed on the bench that you're sitting on.

"Get changed and meet us in the massage area! We're having ice cream later!", Mabel says with a smile before closing the curtain.

With some functioning bodily motion and luck, you change into the clothes and wrap the towel around yourself like a shawl before walking out. Seeing only one door in the room, you walk over and open it. Finding the girls chatting with each other as they look over lotions and oils for their massages.

"Mabel, where are we exactly?", you ask, somewhat confused but assuming you're in Pacifica's new house after the whole Weirdmageddon clean up.

"We are in Pacifica's house! I called the girls for an emergency Spa Day.", she says. "Once your body is all relaxed, you can sleep in the water dome for float therapy."

Float therapy sounds really nice. You think and nod.

"Ok.", you agree and introduce yourself to the girls. "Sorry I'm half asleep. I promise I'm way more fun once I have apple cider in my system.", you say.

"Do you want some?", the blonde asks.

You shake your head no and feel yourself tilting a bit to the left. Then wobbling as you try to balance your body properly.

"I'm not sure that'll be a good idea right now.", you say. "Thanks for the offer though."

With a lotion picked out and the staff already in the room, you pick out a massage bed and lay face down on it. You didn't know what to expect but you never really thought that you'd feel so uncomfortable with getting a massage.

Yeah, its great to have those knots out of your shoulders but you did not like a lot of physical contact.

I blame not getting hugged enough as a child.

Then after some more other spa treatments like the facial creams and stuff, mud mask, leaf thing? You finally make it to the float therapy chambers.

"See you in a bit! I'm going to the sauna!", Mabel waves and goes to a different room.

A staff person opens the float chamber door and offers an assortment of floaties to pick from. A dolphin, pink lounge floaty, donut floaty, hammock floaty, and a flamingo floaty.

You pick the lounge floaty and the dolphin.

"Good choice.", is all the lady says before tossing the floaties into the water for you. "How long?", she asks.

It takes a second for you to comprehend what she's asking but then your brain works out what she means.

"Uh, thirty minutes is fine.", you decide.

The lady nods and sets the timer. gesturing for you to enter the float chamber with her hand.

Stepping in, the water reaches your hips and inside the dome is dark, the floaties not too far but are still drifting in the water a bit. The lady waits for you to settle on the floaty before closing the round door, and the darkness is all around you now as you lie still.

Dark, quiet, and the feeling of being weightless was the perfect combination to fall asleep to.

Closing your eyes, you start to feel the edge of sleep creeping in.

As you are almost on the brink of completely passing out, there's a sudden splash in the water. Your eyes snap open and you try to assess what made the noise.

None of your limbs are in the water, the dolphin floaty is nowhere close to the wall and the lounge floaty you're currently on is in the middle of the dome. So, what made the splash? The million dollar question.

Slowly sitting up, you try to look around in the darkness, listening in for any more noises that shouldn't be there.

Then something moves under your floaty, making the water rise a bit like a wave. You gasp and curse at the lack of weapons that you have around you.

Why is there something interrupting my sleep? What the actual fuck!

Something grabs your ankle and yanks you into the water.

You quickly take a deep breath and close your mouth, the water submerging you fast. The 'thing' starts to push you until your back roughly hits the wall of the dome, making you grunt in pain. Air bubbles slip past your lips.

Fuck.

It does it again and again, your back now scratched and stinging in pain. Maybe even bleeding with how much it stung in the water.

You kick at the thing and feel something almost slimy. It makes you shudder at how gross it feels.

There's an ear splitting screech and it shoves you again.

Something in you snaps.

Maybe it was your sanity leaving, or maybe it was the lack of sleep. But you didn't care and moved your upper half forward, biting the thing's neck and ripping off a chuck with your teeth.

Now it screeches for a whole other reason, flailing around to get out of your hold as you scratch, bite, and beat at it.

Screaming and grunting is what you do as you continue to attack it. At some point it stops moving, but you don't notice until you tear a limb off of it, until you need to go up for air. You emerge from the water and notice that there's a strong copper smell. The sound of a ding goes off and the chamber door opens, making the outside light pour in, you close your eyes out of instinct.

Blinking them back into focus, you see the water is blood red. The thing that you were attacking is shaped like a mer or some water creature with a somewhat humanoid body, you're not sure but it's floating in the water, blood pouring out of it with chunks of flesh here and there.

It's dead.

The lady isn't outside you notice as you step out, the blood drips off of you and onto the white tile floor, making it stand out.

Nothing stands out more than blood on white tile. You think as you stare down at the blood and zone out.

"WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED!?", Mabel screeches.

That pulls you from zoning out and you look up to see the other girls, different reactions of shock all over their faces.

"I-", you start but then feel the exhaustion from lack of sleep catch up with you. "I'm gonna pass out.", you're able to say before falling forward.

And then everything goes black.

I was sleepy and then someone decided to bug me. So here you go.

LIU ZHIGANG / SHY!READER

at first, you might be taken a back by liu zhigang's boisterous behavior. sure it's different from andres thomas' loud personality but it doesn't change the fact it made you wanna crawl back into your shell when you first met him. it would take maybe one or two meetings with him before zhigang noticed your uneasiness whenever you're confronted by crowds or too many people at the same time. this is where he would tone down his loud persona into a more comfortable one so you would be more at ease whenever you're with him.

depending on your reasons why you're shy or struggle with talking with people, zhigang encourages you to break out of your shell and helps you with talking with people. he has more experience with socializing and doesn't really care for the opinions of other people, hell he has the chinese government at his beck and call you really think he would care of other people's opinions? crazy if you think you do. you honestly look up to him for this but you're usually there to humble him if he gets way too out of hand to the point it might harm him in the long run. anyway if you're the type to want to talk with people but you get way too nervous to interact, zhigang is there to help you with progress. though his way of guiding you to becoming more sociable is probably questionable to other people but you thank him nonetheless.

but if you're the type to just not... wanna talk to anyone at all then zhigang is perfectly okay with that. he probably prefers it that way so that no one will be there to snatch you away from him haha... anyway zhigang would gladly spend the days with you just snoozing away in your shared apartment or going around the streets and him doing all the talking while you listen to his ramblings and occasional complaints.

zhigang probably sees your shy personality as something endearing to him. oh? you can't find the courage to walk up to an employee in a restaurant to ask for service water? well you definitely need someone like him to be there to do that for you then! he would sometimes use these reasons against you if you ever try to do something stupid against him so watch out...

if you get overwhelmed in a crowd or situation, zhigang is there for you. he's there to soothe your anxiety with the simple motion of rubbing his thumb over your hand or placing his warm hand at your back and motioning circles to ease your nervousness. if you can't really stand to stay in the place then he'll escort you out, ignoring his assistant's or the person that's in charge of him to not do anything brash or stupid and guide you outside to somewhere more calming and peaceful.

heeeugghh i hope this err... helps 😓 i kinda sprinkled some lovesickness there but it's nothing too much but i couldn't really think much about zhigang because i was lowkeyyyy scared of overdoing it but anyway hope this is good enough for u <3

when someone is stupid enough to make you uncomfortable by stepping over your boundaries to the point of making you overwhelmed and on the verge of having a breakdown, a simple glareglance from zhigang that's been standing right behind you is more than enough to make the perpetuator back away. if looks could kill, that person would've been dead and cremated by the looks of zhigang. you often don't realize this because whenever you looked behind you, you only catch him sweetly smiling at you and placing a tender kiss on your forehead before guiding you outside (again dismissing the fussy assistant that's repeatedly telling him he can't simply leave the party because it's an important gathering).

The sound of the lock being turned has you jumping from the couch and sliding into the entryway. Before he can even get a “I’m home!” out, you leapt for him.

“Welcome home!” 

Tooru stumbled a bit, but kept his balance as he used one arm to support you. 

“Haha, I’m back.” He pulled back a bit to give you a kiss on the forehead. “What happened to make you so happy to see me?”

“Literally nothing—” A sudden rustle of plastic bags caught your attention. “Oh! What did you get?”

He chuckled, nudging back so he could finally toe out of his shoes (It was actually kinda amazing how he could do it while both arms were preoccupied.  “Yes, I got something for you.”  

“Tooru, you need to take a break.” You wrapped your arms around him from behind. “Call out today. Stay home and let me take care of you.”

You noticed Tooru was beginning to favor his left leg, meaning his right knee was giving him problems again. It was the kind of injury that never truly went away. He’d usually be fine, but sometimes the pain would just sneak up on him, and then he’d slip back into his old habits of overworking it. 

Thankfully, he had you now. 

He sighed deeply, turning around to hug you properly. “You’re right. Thank you for reminding me.”

You smiled up at him, “Of course!”

People on the outside attempting to look in on you and Tooru’s relationship think of you as a disrespectful partner. The main reason being is that you rarely stayed to see the game end. Who wouldn’t stay to watch their partner win or lose?

Well, you didn’t need to. You knew he was going to win, so you leave early to meet him immediately after the game. And if he lost, you’d do the same. Be there to comfort him and collect his tears before anyone else could see him so vulnerable. It simply had become routine. 

So when he came to you, grin on his face, you responded in turn with your arms wide, accepting him with an oof. 

“We won.”

“I knew you would.”

“Why is it that every time that I’m off—you’re the one who’s busy?” Tooru whined as he wrapped his arms tighter around your middle.

“I literally just need to run a few errands, and I’ll be back soon.” You said with an eye roll. 

Despite this, your fingers were gently detangling his brown locks, and you made no move to get up. 

“Ugh, but I don’t wanna leave this early.”

“I’m not saying you have to, Tooru.”

“And lose precious time with you? I think not.” He huffed, finally removing himself from you. “So, I guess I should get the bathroom ready.”

“Oh, come on, Tooru—lemme go in first.” You removed yourself from the covers.

He blinked at you. “...we have literally been married for three years—we can’t shower together?” 

You paused, flushing. “I mean…we’ve never before, but…”

“Precious time.” He reminded you in a sing-song voice.

You sighed, relenting. “Fine, just lemme brush my teeth first.”

The days when you both have time off are quiet. The two of you simply exist in each other’s presence, taking in one another. 

You pull his hand to your lips, gently kisses his knuckles, and in turn he leans over and captures the center of your forehead with his own lips. 

Nothing is said, but everything is conveyed.
