imported my library to thestorygraph now i remember why i stopped using it when it was still in beta lmao. did apply as a librarian though, let's see what their support team tells me
#editions are a mess because it generates new entries every time someone imports their library from goodreads#instead of shifting them to the closest match#which defeats what i realised is the main reason i still use goodreads which is checking whether a book exists in translation#isbn13 isbn10 and asin all count as diff. editions instead of being merged into one with alternate IDs#and this is a tiny detail but you could easily check whether a book was originally written in english or not by checking the og title#which is considered part of an edition's details if that makes sense#also author profiles are not a thing yet so e.g. greek and russian authors whose names aren't originally written with the latin alphabet#get 2 different tags and original editions aren't linked with their translations#also goodreads' UI is so so so dated and messy too half the website was updated the rest is stuck back in the 00s#BUT its home page makes checking things at a glance easier because there are visual hierarchies#that storygraph lacks because it made every box look the same in name of a cohesive look#everything's hidden behind other menus workflow has too many steps methinks#am*z*n tho....#.txt
