monty and charles - for monty, his vulnerability despite being afraid. he fell for edwin and tried to work toward that until he was rejected. i think that if his attempt to get edwin out of the forest in episode 6 worked and he told him the truth, he would’ve told him everything and found comfort in being able to discuss the abuse that esther put him through. for charles, their relationship was always deeper than anything either of them had ever known before. they were partners in not only their jobs, but in all of their time and ��lives” since edwin found him (pre-canon show) and they were more honest with each other than any of them ever had the ability to be before. no one liked either of them enough to afford them that.
