hey I mean that manga-only “plot twist” is overused as fuck and I must admit I groaned at it, but it’s still prime material for silly jokes in every AU ever and I’m fully embracing it                    

atually, I’d say it was less “manga-only plot twist” and more details that were teased in-game at some point, but never fully realised or resolved for...whatever reason Heldalf’s backstory in the Earthen Historia could have been done loads better, imo. because there’s that one skit you get when you discover Heldalf’s portrait in Pendrago, in which Sorey and Mikleo discuss about who could this Rolance general be and SUDDENLY they’d say something like “he’d look about the age of our dads now”. and it’s just a really odd sort of comment, because:

1. you two don’t even personally know who your fathers are whut. this is especially weird for Mikleo, because at that point he didn’t even know he’d died as a baby/was reborn as a seraph baby. 2. how would you even be able to guess your fathers’ ages right now, never having seen/known anything about them ???

that said, I don’t actually mind the “plot-twist” too much, though it is an overused trope by now. and yes, at least it gave us something to play along with either as joke material or character development angst in AUs/canon divergence lmao.

and come to think of it, my first reaction to that reveal in the manga was more along the lines of “SELENE, WHY”
