#i keep seeing the posts and discussions about the writers “canonizing” the pairing and being unapologetic about them getting more content#i dont want to get into it but here i am. getting into it#after stressing myself out in previous fandom spaces i vastly prefer to be ignored and yell into a void about characters i'm obsessed with#but as someone who fucking adores astarion x durge and has 200+ hours in two different playthroughs with this pairing I FEEL SO GUILTY#astarion's romance and storyline is literally the golden child being lovingly swung around the pool#while the other companions are in various stages of drowning#some more than others. cough. wyll and karlach#it fuckin sucks that other characters and pairings weren't given the time and care that astarion x durge got#its supremely unfair and shitty to the other characters that they get so much less#im grateful to larian for making my game of the year but damn. the other companions were done so fucking dirty#obviously bg3 is not a game with strictly defined canon and anyone who says that is being so fucking weird#each player's particular story is true to them and different to everyone else#that said... astarion x durge is my “true story” though and i hope no one thinks less of me as i talk about them constantly#okay ive said my piece and now i'll hopefully feel less bad about being a nasty little vampire-loving durge#astarion x durge
