#time is long and history is short #perspective #that was in fact before the beginning of recorded history #hunters and gatherers and not a written record to be found #gonna be verrrry tricky to pass on the details of a historical event over that kind of time period #that said I've heard some very cool things about certain cultures' oral histories #particularly the Australian Aborigines #but I don't think that's the kind of thing the standard medieval-European fantasy story has in mind #though they should #it would be cool #writing reference
