#but guys#didn’t you know that’s such an important relic of the first age on his filthy ranger finger?#it’s thousands of years old!#it sealed an oath that doomed Galadriel’s brother!#it is a symbol of the bond between Aragorns house and the elves!#it survived countless wars and the sinking of two separate continents!#they never name it in the movie but they still made it as part of Aragorn’s costume isn’t that neat?#saruman looks at a book with a picture of it while monologuing implying he knows who Aragorn is#but unless you already know there is no reason to connect this costume piece to that scene#unless you are SUPER observant#nor would you know that it’s a nod to Orthanc once being a stronghold of Aragorn’s family#and in the appendices it turned out Saruman had a bunch of other important heirlooms of Aragorn’s house#guys?#where are you going guys?#I thought we were watching LotR?
