One of the most famous writers in Thedas dies and no one, no one at all, holds a funeral or a wake, let alone talk about him? No one sends the news over to the paper so his readers can mourn his loss? A famous detective, a passionate bookworm (in fact an entire group of people who read fiction for fun!), not even his friend and coworker of over ten years? It makes me hella sad for Varric.

#Veilguard critical #dav critical #dav spoilers #I guess it's another platitude of the game #you could argue rook slept through the whole funeral #but like come on...#for the sake of a plot twist no one celebrated varric #at the end of the game he tells rook it was his choice #and tho that is nice and really heroic and all #that only serves to appease rooks supposed regret #freeing them from it #even after his death varric was just a plot device #maybe bc I have a ttrpg character who died and didn't get a proper funeral #and that GUTTED ME #the realization that he was not grieved by many cut me into pieces #I feel really sad that we see no one shed a tear or raise a glass to Varric #who was it all for... you know?#well #here we go 🥂
