yes, u can do that :3 anyways I was going to post some stuff about shadowpeach at some point so anon sorry if u don't like shadowpeach (also sorry if anon is @fellow-fandom-fruitifier bc honestly a lot of these we've already talked about)

anyways here's some shadowpeach headcanons ... actually this is more like wukong & macaque (basically shadowpeach) things i don't see often at all but they still live free rent in my head

Because he's blind in one eye Macaque has really bad depth perception so he needs glasses and because of the trigram furnace Wukong also needs glasses but he doesn't want to admit that he does. Later however Macaque starts wearing glasses, (and Wukong's a total simp over it) so wukong finally admits he needs them too and now both monkies have glasses except a lot of the time when Macaque and Wukong try to kiss now the glasses get the way :3

Because: shapeshifting, Wukong can always be whatever height he wants to be. If he wants to be the little spoon? well now he's short. If he wants to rest his chin on top of Macaque's head? Well now he's tall. And so on and so forth.

They have those "I'm stupid/I'm with stupid" shirts that they'll often wear to crowded places to help keep track of each other.

Wukong also has a white shirt with sharpied words on it that say "Macaque come pick me up I'm scared" and it's his favorite shirt.

They love to pick each other up, both are strong enough to so honestly it's second nature to them also both are very clingy/touch starved/touchy so picking each other up helps with that. They also love piggyback rides, holding tails/hands/feet, lying/sitting on top of each other, hugs, feet rubs, biting each other, and nuzzling each other.

Another thing they love to do is tickle each other with their tails.

However due to ✨ the horrors ✨ they don't like having the other touch their face very much (or most ppl touching their face tbh)

Anyways, Wukong is utter shit at pick up lines, but they somehow work on Macaque

In turn Macaque is a horrible dancer (u can try & pry this headcanon from my cold dead hands) but Wukong loves and enjoys it when Macaque does dance

The pair have two beds in their bed room instead of just one just in case they fight / they just don't want to sleep in the bed so when they sleep together every square of space counts because the beds are smaller to fit the room

These monkies also have matching onesies and they also buy/win stuffies for each other so they have a collection

These two are also a very competitive couple, weather if it's with each other or other people

Macaque has a set number of pet names he will always use, (ex. three pet names), and whenever he doesn't use one of said three it means something is wrong/he's pissed/etc. However Wukong will usually use just the first pet name/nick name that pops into mind.

If you ever happen to watch a disney/pixar/dreamworks movie with them they'll sing the songs at the top of their lungs, especially if it's a love song

Wukong likes Macaque's drawings and thinks they're awesome, he's like "LOOK! LOOK AT MY BOYFRIEND'S BEAUTIFUL DRAWINGS! LOOK AT THEM!!"

A lot of times they send pictures to each other of monkeys or things somewhat similar to the other always captioned with "this you?" (they love teasing each other)

Wukong likes showing affection with a lot of the 72 transformations so Macaque has been tackled by dog Wukong many times, or had cat Wukong fall asleep on him, or has had hamster Wukong hide in his scarf, etc.

Because of Macaque being a night owl and Wukong being an early bird (or vice versa) the two are always dragging each other to bed/lying on top of each other to try and get them to sleep while the other tries to escape

Macaque can wax poetry until the cows come home but every once and awhile Wukong says some poetic bullshit that just kills Macaque

Macaque is a baby magnet so whenever they go out in public children are always going up to him or staring at him but Macaque is horrible with/very not interested in children so it leads to funny predicaments that Wukong has to keep himself from laughing at

Many of their dates are just them going "lets see what the fuck happens" before heading out and letting the way of the universe (and their own adhd) decide what they are going to do today

They are old gay ass men that still call each other 'boyfriend' like their 17

And last but not least the monkies have a special sign language they created when they first met (and later perfected over the years) because when they first met Wukong was very bad at controlling the volume of his voice and Macaque was still perfecting his ear deafening spells for his six ears so they came up with hand signals/sign language they could use instead. They still use the hand signals but they later got so good at reading each other that they have a kind of telepathy with each other that they don't have with anyone else.

Please pretend I hadn't said all of this in your dms already and that any of this is a surprise and that you didn't help me come up with some of this. Mostly post-game because him being happy and getting better as a concept lives rent free in my head.

1. Headcanon A:  realistic

I spend a normal amount of time thinking how Being him even works, and I have to say, I have 20-30 different thoughts on the topic at any given moment. First of all while he could be sustained through sunlight and just being in the ground, I think he probably has a shitty metabolism and moving around while being a plant and shapeshifting probably takes a lot of energy so not to feel fatigued and sick all the time he has to actually eat stuff, to make up for all the calories he burns through. Though, even if he didn’t have to eat, he’d still do that because Food Tastes Good.

Gentle reminder that This Guy has stopped an Actual Elevator and kind of crushed it like a soda can using his vines, just so Frisk can’t go back and avoid the battle with Asgore. Without any souls on him too. He digs through solid rock and wood and metal and snow at multiple points in the underground just to stalk Frisk jfgsdfl. Basically he is a strong little guy, and doesn’t seem too bothered with hot or cold temperatures, at least for a short while? Not sure if this is just analysis or a headcanon. Either way this leads into the fact that while living on the surface he could very well just... Boar through wooden planks and bricks of a house, and while this isn’t something he would necessarily do, this is something he can physically do and bring up as a threat. Also I like to think he scuttles along the floor like an octopus when he’s indoors, because the imagery is funny. Honestly a lot of his movement in my head is inspired by octopuses because they too, have many limbs.

Another headcanon is one I talk about all the time, that being: He simply decided for himself that the way he feels is due to not having a soul. Think about it, there aren’t any really solid studies on the topic in the underground that we could find, a lot of them being “we suspect all humans are really weird and were bad to us because unlike monsters, they simply don’t have love and compassion and magic in their hearts <3” which is. Wow such unbiased science so true and real. It’s more likely to me that he’s severely mentally ill, and doesn’t know that, simply explaining his feelings away in the only way he figured he could. That, and he expresses emotions in the game ALL the time. Just... Negative ones, mostly. His monologue on his life after he was resurrected and not feeling anything at all really reminded me of my own experience with having severe depression after a traumatic experience in the past, so I’m not just making things up here dghsghg. I think he has PTSD and depression and just... Doesn’t Know. He lacks critical information.

2. Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious

The first part of this is realistic, the second? I have no idea.

When he first moves with Frisk and Toriel, Frisk and him still really into the idea of literary just... Not telling anybody about his identity, they mostly fail miserably at concealing a lot of things like that fact that uh... He’s like 10 years old. Though his actual identity isn’t learned as soon, as him being a child is (I’d give it like 3 months to a year at best before the jig is up hsfgjdfg. Toriel would be probably quite torn between feeling mad and crying from happiness because... god??)

Toriel is mad and they start a whole web of lies of making shit up about his tragic backstory and why this random flower boy who is like 10 not with his parents.

Either way, Toriel gets him into her school, because obviously he has to learn things, despite his and Frisk’s protests because this is actually one of the worst ideas ever. This results in “The Knife Incident” maybe a week or a month later, and he is then on home-schooled. This is also when Toriel decides that maybe, maybe she should look into therapy for Mr. mystery flower child with no parents and emotional issues, not yet knowing the sheer extent of how right she is hdfgjfdg.

3. Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends

This one’s a bit of a slow burner.

Obviously, it’s pretty much canon that he’s really into stars and lights and rainbows at this point. I like to think that after the ending of UT, when Frisk eventually persuades him to move in with them and Toriel, he gets a lot of various light sources as decorations in his room. Fairy lights around the window or the walls, glow in the dark stars on his walls and ceiling, night lights, maybe he even gets a star projector as a gift (and it’s one of the best gifts he ever got, not that he’d say that out loud!).

I think that while all of this obviously how he’d decorate his room considering the kind of person he is, this is much more... Over the top than his DR counterpart, because he gets antsy. He doesn’t want to be in the dark. It’s not the type of fear of dark where it feels like there’s something that can hurt you that you can’t see. He’s fine with dimly lit rooms and especially with outdoors as long as there’s something he can see. It’s just that... He really doesn’t want to be in pitch darkness, at least without Something he could see.

I think that once, he could have a bout of sleep paralysis while waking up from a nightmare in the middle of the night in his dark room. It’s like that time all over again. He can’t even say something, no matter how much he tries to, or move a limb. His throat tightens, he feels hot and cold all over, and it feels like he’s going crazy, until it passes. He doesn’t sleep well for a while, after that. This is when he decides to start decorating his room in that sort of way.

4. Headcanon D: unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own.

I think that after canon, he should get into stuff like rainbow star god ocs, edgy trauma music, edgy rpg maker games, and online dragon pet games. It'd be good for him. Not for the wallet of his parents in case with online pet games, but good for him at least. He’s just that type of kid I think sdfghsdfg. I am an “Arcane Flight Fan” Asriel truther.

Also I like to think he could get into making music. This coupled with the fact that he can change his voice and mimic sounds could be really cool, as well as a good outlet of some sort for him.

i'm basing this off of the assumption that bren and caleb alone are a system, but there could always be more.

• bren is caleb's alter, despite being the born identity. in my system, host-switches (the act of the title of "host" being given to another alter through constant fronting or a retire of position) are fairly common, one happening every few years. it's completely possible that caleb, through constant fronting (or forced fronting), has adopted the title of "host" from bren, leaving bren nearly powerless to take it back for himself.

• he went to the sanitorium for having DID, not for being insane. throughout history, it has been said that people that were seen as less than neurotypical were sent to asylums and sanitoriums (there's a difference!!) to be "fixed" and to churches to be "exorcised." in d&d, you play as characters in medieval times, where this practice was most prevalent. to medical professionals at the time, seeing a switch of any caliber could yield "unstable" behavior, which could've lead to his hospitalization. maybe he was insane when he left, but he definitely wasn't when he went in.

the eleven years. the time spent in the sanitorium is entirely blocked off from his mind, and nearly impossible, even with caleb's eclectic memory, to recall. DID has few requirements, yes, but arguably one of the most important symptoms is dissociative amnesia. this amnesia occurs during high stress situations that can constitute as trauma or while one isn't fronting, both of which are caused by dissociation (directly or indirectly). for the purposes of these theories, i'd say it's a mixture of the two.

the "cure." while caleb was recalling his time at the hospital, he remembered that there was a woman that helped him get rid of the "cloudiness" from his mind. DID is a trauma based disorder caused by amnesia. "getting rid" of his trauma would cause amnesia. keeping his trauma would cause amnesia. it's a paradox with no happy ending. as a result, all the woman got rid of, in my opinion, was his vegetative state. this is why there are still times where you could conclude that caleb is still unstable. there's many of these moments in c2 so i'd rather not sift through them all.

• DID and its causes. intense, repeated traumatic experiences during childhood/early adolescence (around 7-11, with a few years error) causes DID. according to the timeline of his backstory, he was approached by the representatives of the soltryce academy at around 9 years old, which means he started working with ikithon at 10. this puts him just under the threshold of the most apparent developmental stage for this disorder.

• "caleb widogast" seems like such a fake name, not even with alias standards.

• caleb has been seen dissociating for hours at a time. if you're new to the program: after fights where he gets a hdywtdt on a humanoid while using pyromancy, caleb has to make a wisdom saving throw to avoid dissociation. this dissociation could last for hours, whether it be active dissociation (blankness while doing menial tasks) or full dissociation (unable to move, talk, or think). only something intense could snap him out of it, whether it be a slap of the face or a kiss on the head (that scene lives rent free in my head).

• some of caleb's attributes are changed from time to time. caleb likes a lot of things: bread, the scraggly hobo life, books, and numbers, to name a few, though there are times where some of these likes get shifted into obsessions, where caleb likes spellcasting, but bren loves the idea of staying up late and working on a spell with no sleep (and that counts as a point of exhaustion for both of them, not just one, because they share the body and therefore have to take care of it). it's not either of their faults, its just how they were conditioned during the time of their trauma.

• caleb has canonically talked to himself in the third person.

• constant polymorphs and shapeshifting alters. in my system, there is a veth fictive that can shapeshift between "veth" and "nott." she has admitted to using this ability to stay "front-stuck" (where an alter physically cannot switch out) because she can't switch when out of her "true form." now think of it like this: caleb and polymorph, especially in recent history. there's a tag going around, reading "*polymorphs into a creature to stupid to be depressed*" in reference to caleb's now constant use of the spell. it could just be us, but its still something to think about.

• there has been a "switch" in canon. i mentioned in the original post that there was a scene in canon where caleb has been seen switching, as a result of a confrontation from trent ikithon and the cerberus assembly. (don't mind the watermark im not rich)

this is a switch as a result of an auditory trigger. the hearing of one's name, a song, or even a random word adversely connected to trauma can be considered an auditory trigger. hearing bren's name, especially from trent, caused caleb to get immediately defensive and angry. when the camera pans back to caleb after everyone's reactions, you see him hyperventilating slightly with a face of worry, shut his eyes tight, and open them with a slack face to get a sense of his surroundings. he also leans near beau, someone who he could ask for context or reason, but then thinks against it as he remembers: they don't know.

DSMP random things I want to say:

- everyone making hybrid headcanons completely missing this great idea: Techno is part piglin part regular pig. That’s why he walks and is violent and such while still being pink and having pupils and not turning into a zombie in the overworld. No human in this guy. Why can he talk then? He learned bro.

- ALSO you know people debating making Techno a pig vs Techno being a guy with a cool pig mask or pig skull mask? I bring to you: PIG WITH SCARY PIG MASK. It honestly sounds really cool and not ridiculous. Especially if it’s the skull version. EPIC.

- Quackity is so my favorite character lmao. He’s great man, he’s great! I’ve been wanting to draw him so bad but I’m lazy. He’s one of the most interesting characters and also somehow aesthetically a cool character? I love Big Q the complex little uh... HAPPY BIRTHDAY BIG Q

- I also love the karlnapity relationship cuz all three of them are like... caring yet chaotic and somewhat evil. Thank you. I love them. El Rapids supremacy.

- I’m making an AU and man. I’ve only just started thinking about it so not all the details are worked out but Skeppy vs Dream let’s go?

- I love Skeppy having Cat because like. First of all, he’s constantly threatening to burn it, which I don’t like but it’s also a neat little way to remind everyone that these discs are like... just discs and only Tommy and Dream really care about them. Imagine Skeppy burns Cat. Biggest power move ever? Tommy and Dream would have to accept the fact that it’s just. Gone. It was all for nothing. But the MAIN reason I like Skeppy having Cat is because it’s like. A reminder to Dream about what happens when you care about things. Dream lost Cat because he cared about Spirit. You know the rules: get emotionally attached to something, get taken advantage of. It was ages ago and yet Skeppy still has Cat. Dream likes to think he can get Cat from Skeppy whenever he wants, but he can’t know that for sure. All this time he has to just hope Skeppy would give it to him, knowing that caring about Spirit is what caused this relationship. You notice Dream always sucking up to Skeppy ever since the Spirit/Cat trade? Yeah. Basically there’s DEFINITELY a reason Dream claims to not care about anything anymore. He’s seen it with others and he’s seen it with himself: care and you lose. And he’s still suffering the consequences of caring about Spirit. Even if Skeppy will just hand over Cat, it’s still a reminder that the reason he needs to ask Skeppy for it is because he cared about Spirit. Also that transaction proves that Dream used to care about Spirit, in case anyone thinks he never cared- he would have no reason to pretend to care enough to jeopardize his whole leverage over Tommy-

- Also nobody gonna talk about how Spirit is actually just the item frame and not the leather LMAO

- Listening to Super Paper Mario OST while thinking about Dream SMP was a bad idea. Anyone else think Quackity as Mimi works well? Shapeshifters amirite...?

- People like to make up what they imagine certain characters ghosts would be like in AUs and such and those are all really cool and stuff but I feel like canonically, ghosts are just there to hang out with their friends and such? They would all probably just be oblivious to everything and friendly, and try to avoid confronting issues. That’s just my theory tho. All the ghost AUs and headcanons are epic and I like them even tho I think they wouldn’t be close to canon

- I’m making a “Dream SMP moments that live in my head rent free” compilation, it’s not favorite or best or funniest moments, just whichever ones I honestly think about a lot. And let me tell you...
