Sorry i know it's been like two years but I'm genuinely still pissed off about how genshin tried to make some kind of point about Sumeru being a racist nation in-universe for their treatment of desert people and then completely made it all fall flat by having 90% of the playable cast of the region be pale

#i feel like something sinister has to have happened to the character design team between 1.x patches and sumeru's release because it's not #possible that both nations that reasonably should have a primarily brown cast both look like That #and that dor some fucking reason the only playable character who's darker skinned than xinyan in the whole game as of now is iansan #who was ALSO revealed before the game even came out. like did they just kill every character designer who wanted to design brown people #i know realistically it might not even be the character designers themselves because we have SEEN concept art for several characters #that looked insanely better than the final product. so someone higher up is making dogshit decisions #🗨️
