I love how some of Blake's 7 costuming/set choices seem dictated by whatever they could afford to rent this time.

....random bunch of period drama costumes from different eras? Sure. This is just how the people of Freedom city dress all the time. Because freedom.Costumes from Beowulf and a bunch of pseudo-african sculptures and textiles? Tents of the Goth it is!!!😁

#Blake's 7 #idk if they were renting those but it certainly seemed like they did #same with star trek tos #somehow old shows with tiny budgets often have more creative use of costume/props than blockbusters #maybe dresses made from shower curtains and papier mache rocks just stimulate my willingness to suspend disbelief better #whereas heavy hyperrealistic cgi makes me want to nitpick #idk #that is not to disparage top level costuming and effects at all btw #though i still often prefer practical effects over cgi. (also for gods sake stop it with cgi faces just recast if needed please)
