its funny that roguelikes get the reputation for being a hard/punishing genre of game when i've always found them oddly comforting. like i can play a roguelike in an absolutely dogshit manner and just be dying constantly and still walk away from a failure and be like "well that's how its SUPPOSED to happen"
#that being said most of the roguelikes/lites i've played lately have been ones that have the PC deaths kinda built into the gameplay#in a meta sense that makes you dying less of a disappointment and almost a reward#your inscryptions your hades your. moonlighters#still i think there's something inherently comforting about a game that embraces the concept of the PC dying constantly#(something that will happen in any video game really)#genuinely rules#.post
