patrick's cat - sun headcanons ( verse three. )

okay! since i'm on a roll with verse three things at the moment, i thought i might as well throw in the hcs i had for patrick's cat, who, while not necessarily in the capitol, is so important to patrick esp since she takes care of him inadvertently as much as he takes care of her <3

was born a stray cat in district three. however, because district three tends to be very crowded, she was socialized to be around humans...she just isn't the biggest fan of them :/ her mother died while she was a kitten, so she took refugee in the library for a fair bit and unofficially the building's mouse catcher for a bit.

of course the peacekeepers set that place on fire, that came to an end unexpectedly- she managed to escape to the streets without detection :/

patrick never encountered her back then simply bc?? he had his head buried in a book wayyyy too often to realize.

patrick found her as a young cat about two years old following felicity's death. she had been injured by a dog and was taking refuge in an alleyway- it took him a few days to convince her to let him carry her to his place so he could treat her wounds.

eventually, she healed and he told her if she wanted to leave, she could- sun chose to stay. ie. she'd go out to hunt, but always come back in the evening... that's how she officially became patrick's cat.

dramatic and loud; ie. she often yowls when she makes her appearance in a room she knows has people in it ( even if it is just patrick :'D ). she'll also yowl if she hasn't been fed her meal yet- she'll remind you of it and won't let you forget

a night owl; like many cats, she usually takes her naps during morning/early afternoon and therefore is v active at night. again, pls remember that she is loud and will remind you of her presence no matter what time it is....

patrick leaves his bedroom door open for her despite knowing there is always a chance she will wake him up during the early hours of the morning- he'd rather wake up to her than to say, nightmares :'D

she's quite possessive of her owner in that she doesn't like it when he has guests over ( mostly bc she considers his house her property ) and is more inclined to hiss at them if they even look in her direction. may or may not sulk for a while after they're gone too

her favorite place to sit would either be patrick's bed or his desk; not really a lap sitter ( although she does get affectionate in the mornings....likes to be picked up and will even drool a littol too :3 )

if patrick does have money, he always tries to get her little treats and toys from the capitol since he summoned away from her fairly often

why did he name her sun? well he wanted to name her after something ( someone ) that makes him happy- it was still too soon after felicity's death so he considered naming her 'hyuk'....except then he realized it would confusing for him ( and everyone else for that matter ) to say 'hyuk-ah!' and then have both a human AND a cat come barreling at him JFKSLFJSKLDJ....so he settled for 'sun' since the two most important people to him remind him of the sun itself :'D

honestly?? sun's pretty spoiled and patrick wouldn't have it any other way JFKLDSJFLSKDJ &lt;3
