Alright, this is just more confusion than a question. If Neil’s mother died when he was young, who’s the one talking care of him? Is it a stepmother, Aunt, Family friend? I don’t know, I’m just all around confused. Hope you have a great rest of your day though!

It's his stepmom. In episode 3 you can briefly see 'mom' in his chats. Neil refers to her as mom, 'cause she's been his motherfigure for most of his life. His dad remarried pretty early in life. Neil's dad and stepmom are now divorced though. In a later episode, you'll hear Neil refer to her as mom too

Hello all!

Took a sort of accidental hiatus for the month (I was still on tumblr, I just wasn't posting), just to make sure my busy schedule didn't overwhelm me.

However! That does mean I've got quite a bit of work done, both for university and tag :)

You won't be getting a 'done' and 'to-do' list this time, since it's mostly been admin and editing, but I will say that the chapter one update for tag will be coming out this month.

I'm hesitant to give a more specific date this early on, but I'll reblog this post with something more specific once I know.

which is something i still have to do with friends and family. i'm an adult so i do have the safety net of just returning things if they don't listen or matching the donation elsewhere BUTTT obviously that's more tricky as a minor and all you can really do is talk to them about it so that it hopefully doesn't happen again :)

[Promised Prince AU] moment where Magalor gets his relationship revealed to Kirby and Bandee on accident, expecting them to be really against it and hate him, only for them to be super supportive. After all, both of them have seen their fair share of villain-redemptions and if Magalor trusts Oakley then they can do the same. Honestly, I think the majority of the cast either wouldn't care, wouldn't get the potential danger behind it OR are still supportive anyway.

He's thankful that they can't see his face right now, though [REDACTED] couldn't help but want to see their own expression as well. So instead, he lets his fingers ghost along the fallen feathers near their side; down, down, down until he reaches the lone egg.

His lip tightens at that.

Unwanted memories start to resurface, and the sudden urge to crack an ill-timed joke — perhaps something about nuggets? — becomes apparent. Anything to change the mood and draw less attention to the uneasy feeling that was ebbing and flowing from inside him.

And so, he thinks about Krow instead. About how he's always been there for the dark-haired hacker — and for being the only one to help dissuade [REDACTED] from committing to his made-up persona, and to convince him to go back to his real, true self instead.

The true side of him that hasn't been seen since they were both children on a playground... And the true side of him that his own parents tried to hide away.

[REDACTED]'s fingers unconsciously chart a path towards Krow's hand this time, intent on searching for the gold band he gave him when they were younger and much more innocent. And when he finds it, he pulls the artist's hands towards his mouth to press a soft, chaste kiss against his knuckles.

"You'll always mean something t'me." A kiss against his shoulder blade this time, "Always gonna be with you."

tell me about crossnamera. To be honest, they’ve never really clicked with me but the fic I’m planning has them be together and I wanna do it well.

Okay, so this will probably be long.

For me, one of the things that make me love crossnamara is about the trust they had with each other.

We don't know much about their relationship pre-portal: Wilbur was MacNamara's mentor, he taught Macnamara all about the creatures he would later leave him to serve. By the way they speak about the other, they might've spent a lot of time together, working on different missions, getting to know the other. Maybe they shared some drinks, maybe they shared some secrets that no one else could understand. After all, not everyone would believe them if they talked about the paranormal, the extraterrestrial or the interdimensional.

Moreover, they might have had other secrets they shared. On one hand, MacNamara is confirmed to be queer by the Langs. On the other, Wilbur reads as the same type of antagonist as Owen, that is, a queer villain (I hc there's something funky going on with his gender too, but that's for another day). By being two queer men working for the government in the early 2000s, they could not only see someone like them (as people wouldn't be as out as they are today), but also they could see someone like them in a field not made for them. They'd have another person to go to.

However, what makes their relationship so interesting to me is how, even if there is/was a deep bond between them, their convictions are greater than any of their feelings. Wilbur will always turn to the Lords in Black, as he believes they'll liberate him and humanity. On the other hand, even if John once loved the person that called himself Wilbur Cross, he'd never let the world die for him. Their love is very important, but, when the chips are down, it won't make much of a difference. Maybe their conversations will be softer, maybe they'll kill the other in a fastest way than they'd do with others, but facing their former partner won't make them stop.

Although during their face-downs they will do what they have to do, I also think they are haunting presences in the other's life. MacNamara sees Wilbur in new cadets and old threats, remembering the person he knew before the portal. Wilbur remembers the man he once trained when he tricks younger folks to enter a world too big for them. It's about absences, and what might be built on them (I also love the headcanon that Wilbur and John switched tags before the portal incident and they've kept them).

TL;DR them..... I need the Langs to give us more info about what happened in 2005, because there's so much (angst) potential.

Do you ever think about how Amane's warnings were either seen as threats (by Mahiru and audience) or as just test of patience (by Shidou)? Do you ever think about how Amane likely was just trying to protect the ones she cares about? Do you think she didn't actually want to kill Shidou, but felt like she had to to save Mahiru? Do you think that's why she's mad at us for not stopping him?

First MV, shows her helping a (cartoon) cat, getting punished, then promising to be good. Gets voted guilty and punished, giving a message that practicing medicine is bad and deserves punishment.

Second MV, shows what the punishment was and that the cartoon cat was real cat.

Do you think after that first vote result, she started to think of Milgram as the same as her mom? That Milgram has the same rules against medicine? That if Shidou continues to practice it, Milgram will punish both him and kill Mahiru?

Do you think Amane killed Shidou immediately after knowing that he was voted Innocent? Do you think she felt like that was a huge risk and that she'd get punished again, this time for ending a life too early before it was supposed to, but that she thought it was worth it to protect Mahiru from same fate that the cat she took care of faced? Or do you think she waited until she was voted Innocent as well, to get confirmation that it's acceptable to punish someone for breaking the rules? Do you think even then it felt like a risk given how close she was to being voted Guilty again? Do you think she's currently scared of what we'll do now?

Do you think she regrets the decision? Do you think she too blames herself now for Mahiru's death, along with millions of voices that blame her for it?
