I drove by Busch Stadium last night, and it reminded me to pull up this photo. At the Patagonia store in Pasadena, I’d just bumped into Major League scout, Chief Gayton. While he was telling me about his travel schedule, I noticed his 2011 World Series ring. My eyes welled up with tears at the memories surrounding watching my team go all the way — the improbable wild card team that got hot at the right time, Freese’s performance in that crazy game six, rushing to a television set while at a wedding rehearsal the night of game seven. As Chief was handing me this well-deserved diamond-encrusted behemoth to try on, he said to me, “no matter where you go, you find home.” #tbt #thankschief (at Busch Stadium)
