Thank you @spaceorphan18 and @ipwarn for tagging me!
I did my first 10 (the ones I am or was once obsessed with) as an reblog here
But I take the chance for 10 more shows I like 😌
Rules are post gifs from your 10 favourite shows without naming them.
Maybe more people would love to do this (again)? @esilher @special-bc-ur-part-of-it @shame-is-a-wasted-emotion @yadivagirl @fairy-tale-mom @angelhummel @backslashdelta
Rules: Tag 9 people who you want to know better/catch up with and then answer these questions.
I was tagged by @ipwarn thanks for thinking of me!
Three ships:
So many at this point, but here are my current faves.
Klaine
David/Patrick
Tarlos
And because I can’t just pick three: Wayhaught
Last song:
I’ve had the Royalties soundtrack on shuffle most days. I think maybe the last song I listened to was... “Prizefighter”? I like that one.
Last movie:
Trolls World Tour lol. It was actually good believe it or not.
Currently reading:
A lot of 911 fanfiction lol
Currently watching:
A sort of old show called Sirens. It’s a 30-minute comedy series about EMTs in Chicago. It’s pretty funny so far. With the state of the world, I’ve only really wanted lighthearted fare recently.
Currently craving:
Connection. Travel. My family. Theatre. So much.
I’m really bad at tagging because I never know who’s done the thing already. Consider yourself tagged if you want to do this!!
Most actors tend to rule-out certain roles only after intense backlash. But Darren Criss appears to be getting on the front foot.
The 31-year-old has announced he no longer wants to play gay characters after starring in Ryan Murphy's The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story. The announcement comes at a time when Hollywood is grappling with queer representation on screen (specifically, the issue of transgender actors not being cast in trans or non-trans roles).
The former Glee star says it was an honour playing characters such as Blaine Anderson in that series but it is time to give up the blazer and perfectly coiffed hair for good.
"There are certain roles that I'll see that are just wonderful," he recently told online women's magazine Bustle. "But I want to make sure I won't be another straight boy taking a gay man's role. The reason I say that is because getting to play those characters is inherently a wonderful dramatic experience. It has made for very, very compelling and interesting people."
Criss's comments come a few months after Scarlett Johansson was cast a transgender brothel owner in the upcoming film Rub & Tub. She later turned down the role due to intense backlash, but not before firing off a statement telling people to direct their criticism to the likes of Jeffrey Tambor and Jared Leto. (Both men portrayed trans people in Transparent and Dallas Buyers Club respectively.)
A few weeks later, it was Disney's turn to cop criticism due to actor and comedian Jack Whitehall cast as the studio's first openly gay character in Jungle Cruise. The British performer identifies as straight.
Some straight and cisgender actors have scoffed at the idea of not being allowed to play LGBTIQ characters. But as Transparent's Trace Lysette and others explained in a recent Variety roundtable, transgender actors don't want restrictions put on their straight colleagues. Instead, they want more opportunities for trans performers and for straight afters to stop taking the few opportunities that do exist.
"I'm so tired of the double-standard," Lysette said during the roundtable. "We don't get to be in the room for certain roles. I'm not out there getting in the [audition] rooms for cis roles as much. I play trans roles and I feel boxed in. We've been denied for so long."
While LGBTIQ representation on television has never been higher, according to the latest GLAAD report, it is often straight actors who win praise for starring in queer roles. Both Timothee Chalamet and Armie Hammer were cast in queer love story Call Me By Your Name, despite neither identifying as gay. Before that, it was Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger in Brokeback Mountain.
Tom Hanks won an Oscar in 1994 for playing a gay man while, 10 years later, it was Charlize Theron's time in the spotlight after playing a lesbian serial killer.
Criss's decision to step back from gay roles has won him praise online, with numerous people thanking him for "making room" for queer people to tackle queer roles.
"This is how to be a straight ally," one person wrote. "It is this easy to help the LGBTIQ community in simple ways. This is one of them."
Thanks for the tag @cerriddwenluna and sorry it took so long, if I don't do these things immediately I forget :/
Answer the questions, then pass it on to three other people you want to know better
1. What is your favourite colour?
I would probably say red, though I've been going through a yellow period lately :D. Mostly as long as it's not pastel I'm happy :)
2. What is your current favourite song?
Honestly? I have no idea. I don't listen to the radio and I don't really follow any specific artists, so unless a song REALLY blows up and/or becomes a tumblr meme, I won't know it. Which means that when I do listen to music, it's the highlights of the stuff I heard in my 20s.
That being said, I just requested my wife to put on Yo dije ouff by Omar Rudberg cause it never fails to make me happy (and make me wanna dance).
3. How would you describe your taste in music?
Lol. Should've read this question before answering this :D. But basically 90s/00s pop? I love dancing, so anything with a proper beat usually works for me - though I feel I need to clarify that I've danced folk, bellydancing, jazz, lindy hop, tap, stage, and others, so obviously "danceable" covers a VERY broad range here :D.
4. Day or night?
Night. Nobrainer.
A sleeping schedule from 3/4am to noon for me would be ideal, but alas *gestures at society and my own life choices in having a family*. Cause at night, time doesn't seem to exist quite as... explicitely? It makes it easier to do things, somehow. I can send an email and rest easy for a few hours because I know they won't reply immediately, for example.
5. What fan fics are you currently reading?
I just read Time for Love by @lady-divine-writes for the Lima Bean bookclub, and I'm making my way through the other 3-2-1 Big Bang fics. And then I don't know. I wanna read some more Young Royals, catch up on the klaine/kurtbastian fics that passed me by these past years. But I'm a terrible reader - the short fics always leave me wanting more but I just can't seem to focus on the long fics so 🤷♀️.
6. What is an under used trope you would like to see more often?
Not really a trope, but I'm very fascinated with the unreliable narrator thing. Getting presented something as Truth by one character, and then finding out that being very much Not True and just messing a little with the reader like that.
7. What would your dream job be?
A job that doesn't start until the afternoon, allows me freedom to organize my work the way I want it to, with enough supervision to spur me on and keep me from procrastinating, with clear deadlines because that motivates me but also without any deadlines whatsoever cause they stress me out.
Also in cycling distance from my house, please.
Like I can't think of anything concrete of the top of my head but I'm sure there's SOMETHING that matches these very simple and not at all contradictory requests.
8. Make a wish ☆
I'm gonna be lame and copy Gwen's wish: that my kids grow up into happy and good people.
I'm tagging... @turmaliini, @magicalpaz, and @ipwarn. But only if you feel like it!
Thanks to the lovely @honeysucklepink for the tag... I may struggle to fill ten fandoms, but I’ll give it a whirl!
I’ll tag @constantcompanion @ihearthemcallingforyou @darriness @klaineharmony @ipwarn and @darrenismydarcy
In no particular order, but all characters who make a movie or series for me.
1. Kurt Hummel, my favourite of all the children, Glee
2. Bucky Barnes and his arc of redemption and healing, MCU
3. Clint Barton, Marvel comics
4. Tenth and Thirteenth Doctor, they share one puckish brain cell and I love them
5. Javier Peña, Narcos
Also for reasons...
6. CJ Cregg, The West Wing
7. Jaskier, The Witcher
Close second, Geralt’s magnificent tuchus and his strangely erotic grunts...
8. Space Dad Din and his tiny gremlin, Grogu, The Mandalorian
And a very very special place in my heart and loins for Cobb Vanth, the tall, lanky drink of desert justice.
9. Alexis Rose, Schitts Creek
And doubling back on the MCU for one final entry, and it is a tie... mostly because I NEED them to be back in the sequel and if Marvel wishes to make them King and Queen, I would be so okay with that...
This has gone around quite a few times, and tbh, I’ve lost track of who’s already done it. So I’ll tag my dear friend @flowerfan2 and invite anyone to join in. This list is kind of eclectic and not rank-ordered.
1. Glee - Klaine
2. Pose - Elektra Abundance
3. MCU -Steve and Bucky
4. OMG Check Please - Jack and Bitty
5. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier - Bucky and Sam
6. Hawaii 5-0 - Steve and Danny
7. Wanda Vision
8. Schitt’s Creek - David and Patrick
9. Pride and Prejudice- Elizabeth & Mr. Darcy
10. 24 - Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer (my first social media fandom! TWOP was my gateway)
I was tagged by @spaceorphan18 (thanks lovey!!), and since I missed all the Valentine’s Day shenanigans because of work, I am going to keep the love going.
As always, you are supposed to tag people so here goes: @somewhereonlyino @thedorkmark @roxymusicandlayers @lucy8675309 @ipwarn @coffeegleek @boroniaserrulata @ihearthemcallingforyou
And since spaceorphan did 10, so am I. My top 3 are definitely my top 3, and the rest in no particular order.
1. Kurt and Blaine
I mean these two, and their are 100% the reason I am here. We got so much from their story (even though at times, it did not feel like it). We got fairytale, where we also got to fall in love. And then things got real and hard, and we loved them even more for it.
2. Sydney and Vaughn
Oh man, these two. The build up to them actually getting together was so wonderful, and then JJ Abrams made sure that we did not stay content as their story continued. But with all the drama and “two years” and “deaths”, I loved every moment we got, and their end was a beautiful one.
3. Nina and Patrick
For those of you not familiar with Australian television, these two come from “Offspring”. And they were hot, hilarious and quite frankly, a complete disaster a lot of the time. But they loved each other, and the dichotomy of their personalities is what made them so engaging. I love everything about them.
4. Chuck and Sarah
I am a sucker for a geeky guy, and Chuck checked all those boxes. I am also a sucker for a kick ass female who takes absolutely no shit. And Sarah checks all those boxes. And the two of them together were delightful. And the way their story ended? I am totally cool with that, because I know that they were meant for each other, and Sarah was starting to realise that as well.
5. Eric and Tami Taylor
To me, these two are an example of actual couple goals. Watching them navigate the challenges that were thrown their way was a joy. I just loved getting to watch them interact and spar, and just know that these two had a deep love and respect for each other. They weren’t perfect, they made mistakes, but it is because of that that they are a kind of perfect couple to watch.
6. Jake and Amy
Two complete opposites who complement each other in every way. I love how each of them never see each other’s differences as flaws, but as something to appreciate and celebrate. Seriously, they are an absolute joy.
7. Olivia and Peter
It has been such a long time since I have watched Fringe, and man, I need to go back. Like with Sydney and Vaughn, JJ Abrams, did not keep things simple for these two- Fauxlivia, parallel worlds...but the pay off was worth it.
8. Jim and Pam
Yup, I am well and truly on spaceorhphan’s bandwagon with these two. We get everything with them- their whole story. And throughout the whole thing, we have two people who just love each other, make each laugh, support each other etc. And the issues in season 9 only made me love them as a couple even more, because they came out even stronger at the end. Seriously, The Office is not Michael, The Office is Jim and Pam, and their little spiels at the end of the series finale proves that.
9. Lucifer and Chloe
As we wait patiently for these two to actually become canon, just let me flail a little. The Devil and a former actress turned police officer. Their chemistry is fantastic, and I just really want for them to make it happen and get their happily ever after...
10. Grace and Frankie
Yes, these two are not a romantic couple, but they are two that I would never want to see separated. I have so much love for this show, and it is the incredible friendship between these two complete opposites which makes it so. I really hope that I can find myself a Grace or Frankie at some point in my life.
So yeah, I promised I’d do this round up and then the end of the year got away, (I haven’t even finished my Advent fics! Ugh!). Since January is coming to an end it’s probably a pretty good time to get this out there.
Thanks for the reminder anon (whoever you are)!
For those of you out there who are still completing fills for the Advent, @todaydreambelieversfic is still reblogging all of them! If you keep your tags consistent then they should show up in the roundup link once you post them. Also - and again - if I have missed you please do not be shy about letting us know! If I’m not catching something there’s a reason, and I won’t know you’re out there if you don’t say anything.
So without (much) further ado, here is your rebloggable complete roundup of the 2017 Klaine Advent Drabble Challenge List of Participants.
Hope to see you all next year!
