not to out myself as like. scrolling through the rimi writes tag in chronological order and also finally having read straight on til morning. but the dancing in sotm and ballroom dance AU made me scream because i've been taking tango classes recently and just the intimacy. the connection and feeling of safety it requires to dance well with another person. timkon dancing makes my heart full thank you for my life and i'm glad to know another ballroom dance fiend thinks about them

BUT YESSS i love partner dancing bc the connection, the intimacy of it. the way you have to press your entire body against your partner's for a dance like viennese waltz because it's fast and spinny and you really want to maximize your physical connection to keep your center of gravity stable. my whole team were just very comfortable physically laying on each other/with general casual touch because of the nature of partner dance and honestly it was sooo <3. i imagine yj are similar, like you have to have that physical trust when you're out there doing hero stuff together. and im pretty sure the entire team just manhandles tim for fun and profit. especially kon. (im looking at you wf3.)

BUT YEAHHHH i love to think about them dancing. with the power of ttk they could ballroom dance in the sky somewhere. i think they SHOULD even.

Cassie blames her stupid body for making decisions without her. When Rose punches her—fist clenched and landing perfectly against her jaw—she falls on her back and feels all her bones rattle.  “Are you done?” Rose asks from above her, and judging by the towel she's using to wipe the sweat off her neck, Cassie figures that Rose, at least, is done.  She doesn't like how the question is phrased. Like she's being a brat, acting like a needy little thing. Like Rose didn't jump on a chance to kick her around.  “No,” she says. It's more honesty than she'd offer Rose on any other day, but considering how she's been indulged to, it feels… bitchy to lie. Since when does she care if she's being a bitch to Rose Wilson? Maybe since she started asking things of her. Things that aren't just please don't stab anyone, please don't kill anyone, please shut up and leave me alone. What she's asking of her now is, in a way, exactly the opposite.  Rose laughs. It's not a cruel laugh Cassie has come to expect; she sounds genuinely amused by whatever is going on between them and the stuffy air of the gym today. Even if she asked, Cassie couldn't explain it. Wouldn't want to.  “Alright then, princess.” The nickname sends a shiver up Cassie's spine. Before it used to annoy her, it used to make her want to punch Rose in the face. Then she'd come face to face with Rose's dad, watched them interact for about five seconds before all hell broke loose, and recognized where that name came from. Now it just makes her want to puke.  “Don't call me that.”  Rose laughs again, and this time it comes out meaner. Right, she remembers, Rose is made out of edges. For a second there she forgot. Funny, that she'd finally let that slip while being actively beaten by her.  Cassie could beat her, totally. There's a bet going on about this. Tim, loyal to the bone, bet on her, and Blue Beetle placed his on Rose with a small apologetic shrug in Cassie's direction when she asked about it. She's set to prove him wrong. Except she doesn't really care about that at the moment. It's not about winning—and gods, would a younger Cassie throw a fit if she ever heard herself think that—it's about the fight itself. It's about blunt strength and Rose's many edges and about her sweaty palms grabbing Cassie's shoulder before she knees her in the stomach. Sweat is a good sign; it means Cassie is making her work for it. Always pleasant to know.  She's not nice about it. Cassie expected this when she asked her to spar. This isn't play fighting with Tim, it isn't arm wrestling with Kon to see who goes on the next grocery run, it's getting relentlessly attacked and made to defend because Rose will hurt her if she doesn't stop her. It's a bit of a thrill. Mostly, it's just nice to feel someone's body heat against her. If Rose ever heard her think that, she'd probably kill her.  As it is, mind reading is not one of her skills yet, and Cassie is safe for the most part. Rose waits for her to get up before jumping her again, and Cassie lets herself fall back in with the set rhythm. It's a bit like swimming, if the water itself could make you bleed.

hello! I'm assuming you're the same anon who sent this ask to riya?

to address both of your concerns, we'd previously asked @arthurpendragonns if she would mind riya and I doing matching bi merthur icons for pride month, and she didn't have a problem with it. this month we decided to do merthur in aroace colours to match the friendship day and merlin aro fest theme. the merthur 3 are our friends and we would never try do things with ill intent behind their backs. however, we do understand that the matching pfp situation can be taken as too much of an imitation for those outside our friend group, so I've decided to change my pfp 😊💜

regarding our posting - I have to admit I do spiral on a lot of things, and I try to limit the use of #merlin and #bbc merlin when I do. I usually use shipping tags even if I don't use the merlin tags just because I know people usually have shipping tags blocked and I respect their decisions. I think riya does the same thing, and she doesn't make near as many text posts as me.

however, if you're talking about us sporadically making gifsets in the #merlinedit tag - that is wholely our fault because we participate in too many fests and have too many spiral sessions in a day 😅. we've decided to spread our gifset-posting a bit more from now on. thank you so much for your input!

1. the continued existence of the afternoon gang in my life is always a good thing. i’d go so far as to say that some days it’s the only thing that feels like a good thing. love you guys. here’s to another year of good times, meaningful times

2. i figured out some things about the way i deal with pain, and the things i do that spring from loneliness. i’m looking forward to using this new knowledge to improve myself as a person

3. met some cool people on here, kept on talking to the ones i already knew. maybe i don’t make it very obvious! but scrolling through my dash and reading the things u guys have to say abt ur thoughts, ur life etc is something i never get tired of. and i don’t mean that in a snide way either

4. i became more organised, more disciplined, more motivated. maybe my willpower had previously been channelled into managing/hiding some mental illness stuff that i’ve now gotten more used to. well, either way. i can get a bunch of shit done now. hooray

5. i went to japan alone for a trip i’d been dreaming of for ages. it was wonderful and i will carry the memory of it with me through many bad times
