Obsessed with a Rolan x Tav dynamic that's Han/Leia coded...because Rolan is 100% Princess Leia
Tav smirks and calls him Your Worshipfulness and fireman-carries him away from danger despite his protests
Rolan calls Tav a scruffy-looking rothe herder because they're always sweaty and blood-spattered from their last fight (Rolan is super into it)
Tav: You like me because I'm a scoundrel. There aren't enough scoundrels in your life
Rolan: I happen to like nice people
Tav: I'm a nice person- [dips him for a kiss]

I mean, okay, as noted previously, you can tell how much trouble I’m in over a fandom or ship by how many springsteen songs are on my playlists, and the amount of trouble I’m currently in is A Lot. although, in my defense, in this instance, common elements of his songs include
cars
religious imagery
daddy issues
cars
american mythology/the myth of america
strong bisexual energy (including intense platonic-with-barely-concealed-erotic-longing-on-at-least-one-side relationships between a presumably-male narrator and a person with a deliberately gender-neutral name)
the search for home
cowboys
cars
people who live at the edges of society by necessity and by choice
cars
women named mary
what am I supposed to do, NOT create a six-hour-long playlist entitled “bruce springsteen is deankin (also a heller)”?Â
but this song is something else. this is something new. let me try to recreate the journey I went on when I first heard this song. (also everyone spare a thought for @redbrickrose, who had to endure my attempts to process what was happening to me)
hm
hmmmm
ah okay this is very normal, I just have the brainworms. let’s take a big drink of water and see what equally normal line comes next
oh
oh word????
bruce frederick joseph springsteen I need answers
thank you bruce! I’m gonna chew a hole through my wall <3
bruce springsteen’s album letter to you, released october 23, 2020, contains a song called “burnin’ train”. as of late january 2021, “burnin’ train” has zero annotations on genius, because all anybody can say with certainty is that it “recalls a profound and passionate relationship”. one user tentatively suggests that it is about his wife. this suggestion remains unverified, and rightly so, because it is obviously incorrect and the user in question is the greatest of fools. the iconic rock star is, in fact, what is known in certain online circles as a “heller”, meaning that he is deeply invested in the romance between two characters from a terrible cw show that ended more than two months ago. in this essay I will
