Hi I'm bored please have some more headcanons if you would 💃💃💃

I always give T.C. a really long tail because 1. It's funny 2. He's described as having a long tail in the wiki and 3. It's fun to make it so expressive

Like for example in the morning when he's tired his tail just drags behind him, mhm that's right Top Cat in his morning robes, with his black coffee, and that freakishly long tail dragging behind him

Also in a lot of covers for the comics he uses his tail as if it's prehensile so I'm saying it's partly prehensile

One last thing about T.C.'s tail is that because it's so long it tends to get caught in things and banged up frequently, elevators and escalators are T.C.'s tail's worst enemies

On the opposite side of the spectrum, Benny's short tail gives him slight balance issues and some mild back issues (cos that's typically what happens to bobtailed cattos)

Also I feel like Brain's tail can't move very much (cos nerve damage) and he's definitely had to have some of it amputated at some point due to infection or otherwise, so he also has some balance issues similar to Benny.

But they both compromise by holding their arms out a bit more than the others would so they still can run on fences relatively easily, they just look a bit goofier than the others

Brain absolutely LOVES rocks and bizarre geological features and he would definitely take geology classes if he had the money, however he occasionally scrapes up enough money to convince T.C. to take him on trips to national parks like Yellowstone, Craters of the Moon, Arches, Carlsbad Caverns, etc etc

Spook is the most radical (I think that's the term?) out of the gang and he's definitely the kind of guy who'd chain himself to a tree with the rest of his beatnik group to protest it being cut down/protest against deforestation

Spook absolutely meditates and he WOULD go out into the forest to do so, but that's so much effort and his little garden is right there in the alley. He also likes to light a little bit of incense when he meditates, to Fancy's dismay.

Fancy's got misophonia and he absolutely can't stand the sounds of people drinking something, breathing too loud, or coughing/sneezing too much. He doesn't want to get so upset at these sounds but he can't help it smh

Polydactyly Chooch moment, he usually stands in such a way where people can't immediately see his extra fingers and toes because past crushes of his have called them gross (rude)

Brain is the one who acts most consistently like a 'pet' to Dibble, the man just finds him around his apartment raiding his fridge and loafing on his spot on the couch and snoozing in his bed (although to be fair almost all of them do that, Dib's just more lenient with Brain specifically)

Brain is also almost entirely unaware of when he accidentally uses his claws on Dibble, most of the claw marks on Dib are from T.C. having a hissy fit or from Brain gripping onto his arm eating a treat from his hand, Dibble never complains about it though lest it makes Brain feel bad

The window in Dib's kitchen is almost always open because that's usually how the gang gets in. Dibble learned his lesson about keeping the window open after Spook smashed through it a few times and had to get it replaced, as well as Brain doinking his head on the window about the same amount of times and Dib being too concerned about him getting a concussion

I like to think long tails in cat culture are actually a very cool and practical thing to have (think being 'tall' in humans) whereas very stubby tails can be seen as cute, but impractical. Definitely affects balance a little.

And of course, tails are huge mood indicators for cats. Dibble learned over the years to discern what each tail movement means.

YES. Spook is ABSOLUTELY 1000% the kinda guy who'll strap himself to a tree to protest it being cut. Spook takes part in a lot of movements. Spook has a bit of a reckless steak, though (par for the course). He's the most reckless of the gang.

OK BUT DIBBLE BEING PARTICULARLY GENTLE WITH BRAIN IS EVERYTHING (he in fact has a ton of respect for T.C. for unconditionally taking Brain as one of his own).

Dibble is also that person who'll sit and tolerate the kneading even if it's a little painful. One time Brain slept on him and didn't wanna get up and so he was made into a nice loaf of bread a couple hours later lol
