I finished my sketchbook……..

It’s so weird to be finally done! I almost don’t know what to do with myself!! Last night I went to set the sketchbook and my pencil case on my bedside table, like I always do so I can access it easily tomorrow, only to realise I wont need to do that! It’s full!

My new year’s resolution last year was to actually stick with the habit through the end of the year, and finish the sketchbook. There were days I didn’t draw, and I had to make them up later. There was a time I fell 10 days behind and had to slowly, slowly catch up. But in the end… I did it!!

A lot has changed throughout the year. My health has had some major ups and downs, and I nearly failed university. I moved back to the US for the foreseeable future. I graduated university. This little sketchbook saw me through it all!

I had been in a bit of an art slump before 2024, and struggled to finish the things i started. I sometimes went months without drawing. Forcing myself to draw every day was tricky, but effective: I just had to finish and move on. And as a result, I drew more this year than I ever had before. I also wrote more this year than I haver had before! The creativity is infectious!

My new year’s resolution for this year is to keep up the habit. Not with anything so structured as a daily sketchbook, but with studies, sketches, paintings, digital works… I want to keep drawing a little every day. In a way, it’s a bit of a relief to be free of the sketchbook. I have more time to work on bigger pieces, to work digitally, and maybe even get back into painting (i have sooo many paints, that haven’t been touched in years). But I’m deeply glad I did it, and I know that it’s helped me grow a lot!

To anyone reading this far into my rambles: thank you!! If you enjoyed my sketches this year, I deeply appreciate it <3 and if you left nice sentiments in my notes or in the tags I love you forever!! I tried to read every single tag people left on my sketches. Sharing them here and getting a positive response was such a warm surprise, and really motivated me to keep going, especially in the early months! So thank you.

This whole post is super cheesy and not the sort of thing I’d normally do, but I’m feeling a little emotional about it all. I’m excited to see where my art journey takes me next!

i may come back around briefly to gif the japanese cb but aside from that i am going on an indefinite hiatus and won't be online any longer 💙 i'm having a tough time outside of tumblr and kpop and i am wanting to focus my energy and mental fortitude towards other things to help me relax and deal with those things, and over the past year especially i have found myself becoming too intense about giffing and too intense about being present and online all the time to the point where it's draining and more stressful to gif than it is relaxing and fun :( tysm to all my mutuals and those who have supported me from the beginning and those who have watched me grow as a creator and as a person!! if i do return, i hope i can return in a much happier and healthier place all around, but if i do not i simply wish to say thank you for allowing me the space and place on this little corner of the internet to grow and explore my interests and hobbies all this time 💙

“Don’t look at me that way,” Hyuna hisses. Her skin is crawling under the attention, shivering beneath the chill of Luka’s gaze. She’s never seen snow, but from the old stories, she imagines this is what it must feel like to stand beneath a shower of it.

“What way?” Luka asks innocently. It’s all a ploy—she knows this. She knows him. Everything he does is a performance.

“Like—” she scrambles for the right words, unsure how to describe this sensation. Prickling and uncomfortable, but something she can’t tear herself away from. “Like you want to eat me.”

“Maybe I do.”

“You wouldn’t be able to,” she sneers. If anything, Hyuna would be the one eating Luka. Not that he has much meat on him. He wouldn’t last her more than a few meals at best.

A lazy smile crosses Luka’s face. One that tells Hyuna she has inadvertently given him a terrible idea, and she is going to be pulled into it by sheer virtue of the fact that she exists in his vicinity and is one of the few people he doesn’t shut out completely. Because, despite everything, she allows herself to be pulled into his orbit. Even when she knows it will only hurt both of them in the end.

He raises an eyebrow. “Wanna bet?”

Well. Who is Hyuna to back down from a challenge?

“You’re on!”

AWFUL CREATURE …… :/// i have spoken about this before but kenny is suchhhh a fucking wild card quinn. sometimes i wake up and they are carrying me up a mountain top . or i am tied to a tree in the middle of the woods (????????) they’re just strange …. honestly i don’t think they feel the need to wake me up very often lol they kind of like having me unsuspecting . snoring like a baby kitten in their lap. likes being able to stare at me uninterrupted <3 so if anything they’re more likely to carry me with them as they go about their morning ….. weird little freak

📖 - do you have a routine? what is it?

🥺 arisugu mornings … my most beloved . we do have a routine!!!!!! suguru almost always wakes up first. he has trouble sleeping deeply, and just enjoys the routine of waking up early and making breakfast for us both.. (<- this is non-negotiable for him btw). he wakes me up w a kiss if i haven’t already ventured into the kitchen and nuzzled into his back <3 n then we just enjoy our breakfast!!!! mostly in silence bc i’m very sleepy in the morning, but sometimes he talks and i just listen . he has such a soft voice, you know ??? it’s like having my own personal radio T_T…

👔 - when do they change out of their pyjamas? right when they wake up or later?

sick sick man . i need to slutshame him so bad quinn he sleeps :////// with no shirt + loose sweatpants . i always find it funny when you are confused by kids liking you (i mean i get it since we dont really like kids but then we do)

jo out of all of the ppl who are closer distance wise (which is very important when you are a kid) they want to tell stories to YOU and want YOU to read books to them

weird non-judgemental listening to them like they are not speaking gibberish (as adults often think of kids)
