the inability to see the good in yourself, therefore relying on others to provide it for you

your heart is so full for the people you love. it's sweet, but you've now forgotten how to care for yourself. you only seem to see great things in the people around you. they're wonderful, and you... you don't like what you're seeing in yourself, right? you need to be reminded that you're enough. that you're talented. that you're worthy. that's partly the reason why you reach out so much. you need to hear it from the lips of someone "better" than you. but afterwards, it makes you feel even more guilty and upset. you feel like your actions are self absorbed. you're aiming for perfection because you see it in others. you're failing to see the flaws in everyone else. i promise, you're no monster. i could say this again and again, but will you believe me when i say you need to find it out for yourself?

@eternasci sent in: "This isn't, ah, what it looks like," they say, one leg very much so out of a window, having messily left a foreign folder on her desk. They clear their throat, making their voice all the more faux-heroic. "Pay no attention to me."

All-nighters. They're nothing new. Everyone she knows has done it before, especially when the LAPD takes on a high-profile case. And the case in question this time is no exception with the case of Jackie Sonder. A worker whose case calls the REPUTATION of Sterling Candles' CEO into question.

When she returns to her workspace with a cup of hot water, she's not expecting to meet a gust of wind. She yelps albeit meekly; it bites at the skin beneath her dress. Who left the window open- her cup of water drops to the floor. Hang on a second, she knows that outfit- isn't that LUX AETERNA? The birdlike vigilante that's been popping up wherever a crime takes place- she's heard many of her colleagues ( and bosses too ) spit upon their name, complain about them, some even getting up in arms over the topic. And Suki's thoughts on them? Well, first she notices the file on her desk- she doesn't recall having brought one over from the evidence closet, but more importantly-

"Wait!" She cries out and latches onto Lux Aeterna's arm. Peeking up at them with owlish eyes, she hangs onto them tightly like they'd disappear if she lets go. "...Do you want tea?"

I’ll reply with Coconut and Miel in mind because they are easy access to talk about. For them in their canon, the most obvious answer for Miel is that Coconut influenced Miel to become better. Miel, prior to losing their memory, cared little for humanity, and anyone who came close to their home was subsequently driven back out by rather harmful ways that could scar them, even after the amnesia, Miel retains a lack of care to humans. They aren’t interested in people much, and it’s often Coconut’s insistence that they even make the friends they have. For Coconut, I think the fact that she was disliked as a child made her extremely people pleasing. Given that her parents thought of her negatively when she was born, she does whatever she can to get people to like her. She can’t stand the feeling of being disliked or hated. Coconut only picked up Miel’s self defense really.

This being said it’s fairly obvious that being evil would come easier to Miel than Coconut. Coconut does have parts in universes in which she’s kind of a shell of who she was due to losing a friend but there’s an eventual point in which she gets stronger or gets angry with the person wronging her and her friends. It’s more of a there’s change but Coconut can really only develop in a way that ends with her becoming more than a people pleaser.

Miel on the other hand, has very little regard for everyone besides a handful at any given time, with Coconut being the most important. If they were to lose them or lose Coconut, I do see Miel turning evil if only because Miel doesn’t have anything or anyone to genuinely care about anymore. They will lash out at other people and go against all good will that Coconut instilled because Miel cannot process grief in a positive way.

In terms of AUs i think about as much as their canons, it’s probably a tie between Tokyo Revengers and Twisted Wonderland, given that I recently got my friends into both and we like talking about these AUs with each other. I do also feel as though these universes allow me to comfortably write these two ( just like kny or jjk with Honoka and Eibon ).

something goes wrong. there's urgency. everything gets turned upside down, and you have to grab for the things that matter most—oh. suddenly, there's perspective, and at the worst possible moment, the moment when there is so much else going on, you realize that you have been breathless with want for so, so long. you want everyone to be safe, but please, please, you want *them* to be safe. you want everything to be okay so that you can have another chance to get things right. a chance to start over. and everything will be okay, of course, because you've made it through bad moments before, and that foundation of trust is there, even if you've never quite acknowledged it to its full potential. you trust them. you need them. oh.

THE BRAINS

people are not so much your forte. you are more at home with thoughts, ideas, hobbies, skills. as such, you probably have to learn how to work well with others--but once you do, hey, it has its moments. while you are treasured for your ability to solve problems, people also have this unique love of novelty. when you break from your schedule, when you say something no one is expecting--that's novel. you are as curious and lovable as the subjects you study. you are family. this place is not the same without your witty comments and wry observations. you definitely feel more comfortable when someone needs a straightforward answer than a shoulder to cry on, but it's not impossible to give both. know that your family loves you for more than that, though, and will (usually) remember to respect your boundaries.
