I saw you like Evelyn Hugo and I've just gotta ask you: have you heard of Burn the House Down by Kenna Jenkins? It's an alternate history novel abt the 1st woman president and her secret sapphic relationship/bearded marriage with her mlm best friend ala shoeh. It also has a subplot about arson at the White House, ft. An entirely queer main cast and really fleshed out characters, and a really satisfying ending!

it's fs going on the tbr ! evelyn hugo is currently my second favorite book and i'm rereading it rn so this came in at the perfect timing. thank you so much for the rec, i'm def going to add it to my list.
