everything we know about victor, a co-op exclusive project nexus character

theres a lot of things people dont know about them!! like their connection with the maker, how they interact with the audience, etc. however this information is intentionally kept obscure for narrative reasons (ill explain later) so its understandable if you didnt know about this

full post under the cut since its long ==v

SECTION 1: BURGER GILS

the first appearance of victor was on the official burger gils website, under the "updates" section

the first news update, #207, says that rich (a character we see in "power play") is no longer the employee of the month, thus giving the title to victor.

the next prominent update is #209, which states victor has mysteriously gone missing and gil is setting up a hotline for their return.

judging by the next and final update alluding to the fall of nexus city, and that they can "finally open their doors" due to health inspectors being inoperable, we can assume victor went missing beforehand since the restaurant was functioning at the time of the hotline being released.

the reason for their disappearance is still unknown, but that can lead us into the next and more important section:

SECTION 2: THE MAKER (YES, REALLY)

victor, by the laws of the universe, is not meant to exist in nevada. they are an anomaly.

similarly to the maker, they are likely trying to avoid being spotted by the machine or some other "indestructible nightmare".

we learned in a stream that the maker talks to victor, and won't allow their "story" to be told.

"maybe vic, but his story can't be told. the maker won't allow it. that's why the maker talks to vic all the time. he'll never get near the plot."

victor stays as far away from the narrative as possible, choosing to hide as a co-op exclusive character for MPN. krinkels always emphasizes that there's a meta reason for this. even in things like little doodles, victor seems to want to hide from the public eye.

victor reappeared after the city fell, and was found and taken into sq. there is a reason doc wanted victor to join sq, and that doc knows of their importance. however, krinkels wants to keep this part of the story untold too.

SECTION 3: PERSONALITY + ADDITIONAL MATERIAL

not much comments here since ill leave these up to interpretation. heres some dialogue + other things from them that show their personality.

your post about grunts and disabilities aids got me thinking, so here's a dump of some disability related stuff I hc because you're cool and there NEEDS to be more disability rep in this fandom

Hank: selectively mute, uses sign language to communicate. HOH and missing an eye. autism and ASPD.

Sanford: also HOH due to his job and visually impaired after 12. gets a white cane after he gets his eyes fucked up. OCD.

Deimos: uses crutches on occasion because something fucking up during his cloning process caused him to be pretty frail and weak, at least at first. also keeps stim toys on him. auDHD.

Doc: definitely a cane user. has a severe mouth injury from his time at the AAHW, so he can really only drink liquids. his mask has a thing that automatically amplifies his voice since the injury makes it hard to talk. I also like to imagine either he or Hank have a prosthetic leg. SZPD.

Victor: I can't think of any disability aids he'd have, but he definitely has PPD (as in paranoid personality disorder, not postpartum depression,) and DID.

all of them would realistically have some kind of C-PTSD and chronic pain / chronic fatigue due to the lives they live

It was just a matter of time 'til i eventually made a Madness Combat × Mortal Kombat Crossover, both series that i hold incredibly close to my heart (and guts), so i decided hey, why not wait until Madness Day?? So i did, fellas this is what i've been cooking the past 3 weeks.

Basically the explanations for the characters i chose are easy, i just picked my favorites lmao (Well Shang and 2BD is more because of the mad doctor aesthetic actually), that's why Deimos and Stryker are together because there was absolutely no way i wouldn't draw my favorites together lmao, they would so blow up buildings together.

If i tried to go on a rant about how much both MadCom and MK mean to me y'all would never hear the end of it from me, so i'll just say i'm happy i stumbled upon them and their violent antics, they've gotten me thru dark (and i mean DARK) times and i'm jus, they're big sources of comfort for me okay, even if they both are about eviscerating people.

No cuz that anon that brought up San and Dei purgatory arc where San got shocked at seeing him dead, reminded me of that one scene where Dei was into purgatory and saw San (or at least an apparation of him??) being all faceless n disfigured and tried to reach out to him only to realize his jaw was missing?? 😭 and was probably choking on blood as he did it?? Like the whole body language thing Krinkels does in the series instead of putting dialogues is incredible, it really goes to show that you don't need to have top tier voice acting in order to make an animated series or game or anything really to make something good/enjoyable.

Hi, sorry to bother you! I wanted to ask for some advice, since you seem to be part of the Madness Combat fandom :))

Well, the thing is that I'm an artist myself, and I have been a fan of madcom for a long time. Specifically I've been wanting to get more involved in the fandom.. but honestly, I don't have any idea from where I should start. I mean, I though about posting my art in an account dedicated to madcom.. I considered instagram but it feels kind of limiting or very superficial ;-; idk if I should do that on X or tumbrl... I also though maybe about joining an Amino, but I didn't have the best experiences with the app.. or maybe discord, but I don't know if it's a good option or if people there are even friendly.

I just want to meet people who share this interest, but idk where to start.. do u have any recomendations? Any tips or info would help a lot! Thanks for reading, and sorry again for the bother ⸜(｡° ᵕ ° )⸝♡

I have already seen many people answer your question (and I agree with most answers) so Im just gonna share my view

Idk about amino, instragram since I don't use them and I have never joined any madcom community discords (I barely talk). Tumblr is my main platform and I like it here because of post format and tag managing. But twitter's madcom fandom has the biggest and most active fanbase compares to other platforms (and krinkels is active there). So if you aim for engagement, I recommend twitter (idk about bluesky because I dont use it too). But if you aim for interacting with other people you can use either twitter or tumblr honestly. It's up to you which style fits you best or you could just open account on multiple platforms (personally I rather focus on using fewer platforms more)

I think most important thing that wont make you burn out too fast is being creative and dont force yourself to draw something you dont actually like

omg omg madcom is so cool i fucking love it. it all starts with a small boombox and the chicken dance and quickly escalates to literal hell being released on nevada.

deimos had my heart in the very beginning and then i cried when he died :(

ep 11 made me cry for about an hour, seeing sanford having to suffer like that and watching hank protect him and let himself go first since he knows that sanford is going through hell. its even CONFIRMED by father krinkels that hank is more compassionate with sanford as he knows what sanford has been through and how much hes suffered (they're so platonic. love them)

though its never explicitly mentioned, the two are together. im prettu sure father krinkels shipping it (his own two characters) means it must be canon right?? but theyre so cute i love how you can see the kind of relationship they have between each other just from the beginning,, deimos bandaging sanford while he was fighting to stop his head from bleeding? aauuggh cuties

phobos and deimos are never explicitly stated to be siblings, its just a popular headcanon as phobos and deimos are the names of mars' two moons. and since the moon phobos is larger than the moon deimos, that makes the character phobos the older moon twin.

now about tricky,

i love tricky's character but i never liked him too much. i love how he's written and i love he and hank's rivalry very much i love how tricky is the ONLY thing that actually scares hank.

and in the episode with mag agent torture, hank using the shotgun recoil to hoist himself up? BEAUTIFUL.

OOH! OK OK!! ABOUT THE HCS UMM HOW ABOUT SHERIFF?? AND/OR AUDI? :O

OOOOOOOOO ive actually been thinking abt audi a good bit lately bc i picked them up in an rp server a bit ago and once i start writing for a guy i guess im just cursed to absorb them as a blorko

so the way employers work to me, all 4 of them are given a certain "domain" to preside over and work with- conductor has time, stygian has death, deliberator has karma and auditor has society. however, as society did not always exist within nevada (u know, since with all periods of evolution there was a time where the animals were Just Animals), Auditor did not always exist!

the maker only brought them about once nevadeans began to band together in organized groups and figured stuff out like agriculture, making them the youngest of the four employers. despite this, they lie pretty flagrantly to the agency and pretty much any non-Employer that'll listen, claiming to have powers they don't or that they've been around since the dawn of creation. agency clones, for the most part, actually straight up don't know the other 3 employers exist (based off the way sanford & deimos react to mentions of the employers in m:pn)! and, because they're the most involved employer in nevadean society, it's not like the other three are ever around to correct or object, since their respective jobs keep them away from Nevada pretty much full-time.

also because of such hands-on involvement, which krinkels has described before as "ill-advised", theyve picked up a ton of nevadean mannerisms- employers are extremely different from nevadeans in a VERY obvious way, the most noticable being that they really don't do much idle behaviors. they truly are focused beings created for a single task, and it's extremely evident in their lack of behavior. however, auditor's broken past this over the years- their siblings find all their idle fidgeting and noise-making and expressions rather strange.

because they're the youngest, and because they so frequently remain in their simple, humanoid form for ease of communicating with the agency members, they are significantly weaker compared to the other employers. it's more difficult for them to access their more natural form, and even when they can, they have less energy to work with combatively. of course, a nevadean facing off against them would never know the difference- but in a fight against any of the other 3 employers, they'd likely go down first without any form of extra aid. (which is likely why they were so desperate for the keystone fragment!)

more personal hcs, but them & phobos have a sort of father-son relationship to me, in like a real fucked up cycle of trauma way. they were the one who selected Phobos to man Nexus personally to prove to the other 3 they were a capable decision-maker (which was swiftly pointed out by the other 3 as a horrible idea, being that Phobos has an original S-3LF- and original S-3LFs are historically known for being corrupt leaders). to further try and prove the other 3 wrong, they made Phobos out pretty much exactly in their image, and you can outright see the resulting parallels in the series- DOWN TO THE PEOPLE THEY'RE BETRAYED BY! THANKS, CHRISTOFF AND HOFNARR!

phobos & audi cant fucking stand eachother half the time and their relationship is super terse, cut and dry businessy, though they always act really pleasant around eachother in that insufferable corporate "im trying to one up you" way. phobos actively defies auditor at every turn he can get just to prove he answers to no one, and auditor delights in using whatever means they can to force him to do anything, just to remind him who put him in that position in the first place. the agency and nexus used to be competitors as much as they were eachother's suppliers, and auditor delights in knowing they've outlived Phobos and Nexus as a company. (they figured they would, being an employer, but they enjoy the satisfaction nonetheless!)

and, since you asked about sheriff as well, ill say this- auditors relationship with sheriff is definitely an ill advised one. sheriff's whole life is really only gonna be a blip to them- of course, between enmeshment and cloning tech, they could find ways to keep him around forever...

but would he really want that?

does he get much of a choice, at the end of things?
