OOOH LOVE THIS QUESTION. I think there are times where Nadine has considered changing their name, but honestly… I think they see it as a part of their identity and who they are!! They kinda see themselves existing outside of gender, and I think that includes their name. I think when they were probably a young teen online they played around with different aliases online, or in small groups of friends to see how it felt and it just never quite clicked for them.

I think for them, they see going by Nadine as a reclamation of their identity! Their way of redefining the person that the world tried to make them. They also just like the name tbh.

How do they feel about each other's little siblings? Since they're both very protective of their own younger siblings, we wonder how that dynamic would go. Also, how would they feel about them meeting up? Would Charlotte and Finley be friends? Because they're kinda in the same age range. Give us the story of how they met each other's families!

First meetings:

-Finley and Charlotte actually meet at the old Yureyu HQ when the kids are held captive there. He just peeked in on her with curiosity as Mako and him would sometimes go in and out of the building for things.

She noticed him and they started talking and quickly bonded over gushing about their cool older siblings. Basically a sassy cool girl and sunshine boy friendship dynamic.

-Mako did not know Charlotte personally, but she still pushed her out of the way of one of Blake's icicles in Victory Road. Charlotte got some respect for them after that.

-Saphira saved Finley from Sirius in Victory Road and brought him back safely to Mako. At the time, he was the younger brother of a Meteor member she did not trust, but she couldn't leave a child all alone. She also felt like she owed Mako after they protected Charlotte.

Once all of them get to know each other:

-Mako thinks Charlotte is pretty cool and sometimes joins in on teasing Saphira with her.

-Saphira thinks Finley is a little naive, but doesn't fault him too much as he's only 15, and it was mostly Mako's influence for keeping so much of the bad stuff Meteor did from him. She cares for him nonetheless.

The protectiveness over their younger siblings is the main reason Saph and Mako actually were able to bond in any kind of way, as Saphira despises Meteor for everything they've done.

GOJO SATORU. even if gojo didn't seem like the type to be aware of his surroundings — he is very much aware. behind those blindfolds and dark glasses, his eyes darts everywhere, making sure everything is fine. even if one small thing is different to his eyes, he'll notice.

so when you began distancing yourself from him, he notices off the bat. but decided to say nothing just to make sure of it, gojo did not want to jump into conclusions. it started off as you telling him that you're busy to go on dates, or even declining his offers when he wanted to come over to your place.

he didn't think much of it until it visibly worsened, you looked miserable. when he sees you, it was like the shine in your eyes have gone away — gojo didn't know what happened, but he automatically assumed that he was behind the disappearance of it. when he asks you if you were okay, you brushed him off with a forced out smile, and he was dying to push you to just tell him everything.

but he didn't. he was afraid that if he'd push you, it would spiral an argument. for a while, he was walking on eggshells around you, you were like a ticking time bomb ready to blow up at any minute.

it was gnawing internally in gojo's mind, what did he do? what happened to you? what happened to y/n?

so when shoko drops the bomb on him, asking if he had broken up with you. gojo was mortified, is that what it looks like to other people? him and you calling it off? he was terrified, scared, nervous. the strongest sorcerer. yeah — he was scared.

and so he felt like it was a now or never situation.

"y/n, can we talk?"

you grimaced at his soft voice, wondering if this is the part where he's had enough and decided he'd leave you. but you nodded your head, your mind was ready, you were ready to hear it, those words: "i want to break up with you."

"please talk to me. i can't do this whole...you avoiding me, tell me what's bothering you...please." the desperation in his voice was visible, almost as if he was in the verge of tears.

his cerulean eyes were filled with such hopelessness, one you've never seen even when he was fighting a curse. you widened your eyes and inhaled sharply, "i...i'm sorry, satoru."

that was all you managed to muster up and gojo was clueless, he needed more answers, he needed answers to why you were like this, "baby, i don't... is it me? did i do anything wrong to you? please tell me, don't run away.. let me make it up to you."

it pained you to see that he thinks it was him, when it was you behind this. you shook your head, "'s not you 'ts me."

and that made gojo even more terrified than he already is, a lot of questions spiraling in his mind, did you find someone else? did you get bored of him? were you finally breaking up with him because of his constant bothering? so many questions.

"i just...there're so many more people prettier than i am. i just can't stop thinking about it. you leaving and all. 'm sorry i distanced myself from you." when you said that, gojo felt like half of his questions were all useless and he felt a bit relieved to finally get an answer to his speculations.

gojo wasted no time pulling you into his embrace, he needed it, you needed it. both of you needed it just as much, you felt so small in his embrace, head buried into his chest. gojo didn't move a bit, fearing if he moved at all — you'd break, you looked so fragile and so dainty, it scares him.

"i..love you so much." was all he could say,

"'ts you, 'ts you that i love. it hurts me to hear you talk like that." you felt like shit, you really do — so you said nothing back, you kept your face hidden in his chest.

and gojo didn't pry you away, he just needed to be close to you, "sorry."

that was when he pulled away, "you don't have to be sorry, but please talk to me, 'ts not fair if we're happy together and you have to be sad alone.." you hated crying in front of people, especially gojo, and he knew that about you.

so when you cried in that moment, gojo knew this wasn't something light — he didn't need any more explaining from you, he was just there by your side the whole night. and the next day. the next week. month. year. both of you never spoke of it again.

he's in love with you and nobody could change that, he thinks you're the prettiest anyways.

it scares yourself sometimes how empty your eyes look.

you wouldn't be surprised if nanami didn't come back home one day because he's so fed up — that's what you've been planting in you. that nanami would leave you for prettier people, for people who don't overthink, people who are generally better than you.

"y/n?"

oh. you didn't even hear him come home, you sat on the bedroom floor trying to push yourself up. and you couldn't even do that, so when nanami opens the bedroom door, seeing you on the floor — he said nothing, not even a hello.

nanami just scoops you into his arms and lays you down on the bed mutely, his slender fingers brushing your hair, "i love you," he murmurs quietly.

that was enough to make tears dwell up at the corner of your eyes, and he said nothing, grazing your tears away, "'m sorry. 'm so sorry, kento."

nanami didn't understand why you were apologizing, he hushed you, cradling you in his embrace as you let your tears free fall, "why are you sorry?"

that's when it struck you, why were you apologizing?

nanami makes sure to spend every second telling you how much he loves you, telling you how beautiful you are, and how you're the most perfect for him.

SUKUNA RYOMEN. he hates it when you ignore him without any explanations, he's told you before, "if you have anything to say, say it to my face, don't ignore me."

but this feels like something you couldn't tell him, how you feel. it's obvious that you were distancing yourself from him, when he calls you, you sometimes pretend like you didn't hear him — and when he confronts you later, you tell him that you just didn't hear his calls.

"what? no— i just didn't hear you calling out to me."

don't even try to lie to him because he will always confront you about it, he sees right through you and your lies. the second time you try to run away from him when he calls out to you, he wastes no time holding you in place; confronting you right at that moment.

"i...oh, i didn't realize you were here, ryo." sukuna clicks his tongue in mere annoyance — what a bad actor you are, it's so ridiculous sukuna wanted to just burst out into laughter.

it was lunch and kenny and others was talking about the new game thats about to launch in a couple weeks, stan then asked kenny if you and bebe has been fighting lately.

he was quite confused and asked why he said that, "dude didn't you see? the entire class the both of them was staring at each other as if they wanted to rip each others hair out" kyle chimed into the convo, apparently the whole class noticed it, kenny was focused on something else during class so he didn't notice anything.

all of the sudden some other 4 graders was running outside, cartman asked what was going on and the 4th grader said bebes hair is getting ripped out by you

kenny was shocked af, you weren't the type to get into fights because of how you always forgave people. if bebe did something to you so much to the fact you would fight her makes him worried.

all of them rushed outside to see a big circle and in the middle with you and bebe ,you had your hair tied up with loose hair strands. your lips was bleeding and so was your eyebrow. you cheek was swollen, but if you look at bebe she was a thousand times worse.

they all jumped you trying to fuck up your face so stan would loose feelings for you, what they didn't know though was you could take all of them while sleeping, you were a black belt and your dad always taught you self defense, you easily took them. you should've known that wendy had ill intentions towards you.

when stan heard all of this he was fuming he wanted to go in and beat all of them up, luckily he doesn't fight women (unless necessary) kyle and the others was also mad af, you told them to deal with it tmr because all you wanted to do was go home and play some games or wtv.

the next day stan marched right up to wendy, and wow did you handle her.her face was wayyy worse than you, stan almost laughed. anyways he yelled at her on how stupid of it for her to fight you just because they broke up. it got heated real fast, stan ended it with saying "well fuck you wendy, after this don't even think i'd even consider you as a friend!!" he wanted to say so may things but if he did even you would be mad at him.

he'd take care of you until your wounds and bruises gets better, when you do anything he'd act like a whole mother. after this wendy always glared and didn't dare touch you.

when he heard you got into a fight he couldn't believe it like "y/n??? y/n l/n??? my girlfriend y/n??" "oh my fucking god yes" he was waiting for you outside the counselors office (with the other of course), it took really long and it sounded like you and whoever it was, was arguing inside.

it ended with a loud sigh from mr mackey and telling the both of you to get out. you came out with your hands in your pockets looking annoyed, you had a tissue up you nose, your eyebrows was bleeding and you had a small cut on your forehead. they were shocked at the state of your face. then the girl that you fought came out. it was a random 4th grader the others haven't meet before, apparently it was the new kid.

you told them that she had moved to the house infront of you and caused havoc, she'd throw eggs at your window and rocks at your bedroom windows, would also ask you to come over just to ask you to clean up her house! you told your parents but they would never catch her in the act. you punched her one day not wanting to deal with the shit she puts you through and she promised the next time she saw you it was on. you just didn't know it'd be at school.

you sigh knowing you have to deal with your parents later. kyle immediately took you the school nurse getting bandages for your wounds and a ice pack for whatever he thought its for. he didn't knew how to do anything but tried so hard, so precious. he told you to stay still and wouldn't have to lift a finger because he and the others can handle it.

the new kid was introduced and everyone knew what she did, you were a very famous lovable person, everyone loved you. wendy rolled her eyes at her knowing what she did to you. everyone ignored her. even when she was being introduced nobody was paying attention, they were just playing. she was mad to say the least, she thought everyone would love her esp kyle bc she took a liking to him!!

when you came back from the nurses office everyone greeted you. asking if your ok and if you need help. the new kid looked pissed at the sudden fame you got. you asked kyle what happened and he told you that not only he told everyone what happened between you two, he spread rumours about her, telling everyone she was someone who'd steal everyones mans and how she liked to steal things

you laughed at his efforts and also didn't know he could be such a gossip girl you kissed him to show thanks, the year continued with the new kid having 1-2 friends just because she was a bitch to you <3

him and three others was at his house waiting for you so they can go and play basketball. while on your guys way to his house some 6th grader called you over, you did and told them to go ahead and wait for you. it was well past 20 minutes now and they re getting bored.

"dude where is your girlfriend? she's taking forever omgg" "i dont know geez" suddenly you burst open the door making them all jump. you were out of breath and looked horrible , your hair looks like you haven't showered in years, your cheek was swollen and your coat had a tear in it, "dude what the fuck happened" "yeah you okay?" you were in tears.

the 6th grades asked to borrow 100$ which you didnt have so you refused but they wanted it now, you told them you didnt have them, you were getting real scared and wanted to run away, you looked behind you to see if it was okay to run or if there was someone you can call for help when all of the sudden someone grabbed you shoulder and demanded the 100$, he grabbed strands of your hair and kissed it saying that you can pay with something else winking at you. the other two 6th graders just laughed and you punched him, you were grossed out. they were shocked, the other 6th grader punched you and it was a full on fight, you could handle two of them but the other was too strong, you just ran off to cartmans house scared.

after you told the story cartman wanted to go and burn the 6th graders house but he hold it in "dont worry, i got this" cartman said to your crying figure on the couch and left the house. you looked dumbfounded but wtv.

(the 6th graders pov)you went home after getting beaten up by some lousy girl, you made sure to make a mental note to meet her tmr. going up the stairs to greet your pet bird, he was your fav thing in the world, you lov- hes dead. what the fuck, your room was trashed, all of your clothing was torn apart and on the floor was a note written on it was (fuck your 100$ bitch) .............

when cartman got back he told everyone to go home and to just play tmr, except you of course you can stay, he acted all tough but he was actually so worried for you, he treated to your bruises immediately, he was surprisingly good, the next day the 6th graders didnt bother you, infact they were scared of you, whatever cartman did you were so thankful

you kissed him and hugged him, he cringed and made puking noises but he loved it, you both knew <3

Peter has many admirable qualities, the most endearing being his deep-rooted ability to empathise. You adored how he cares so deeply about others, especially the ones he loves most. It was one of the things that drew you to him the most. 

Lately, you have been having a rough time, so to speak, and things weren't going in your favour. Your boyfriend, Peter, was aware and did everything he could for you to feel better, even if it was only for a little while.

Every day was different. Some days were easier, others, not so much, and it just so happened that today was one of the more difficult days. It was the kind of day where everything went wrong. The day where your clothes get caught in every door handle, the kind where you drop everything you hold. The sort of day that leaves you with an empty pit in your stomach when you finally catch a minute alone. 

Peter was always so kind and patient with you that it often made you question what you did to deserve him. For you, he's loving and caring, sweet and funny, the perfect combination of all the best traits a person could have. 

You felt overwhelmed with many things and the self-doubt that Peter would find someone better than you weighed heavy on your mind.��You were in your bedroom alone, door closed, curtains shut with your head in your palms. 

A soft knock on your door interrupts you from your thoughts. "Hey, honey? Everything okay?" Peter asks through the door, his tone full of warmth.

"Yeah," you reply shortly, burying your face in your arms.

"Are you sure? You can talk to me," he says. "I'm right here."

"Yes, I'm sure," you respond with more bite, growing frustrated.

"Okay, I'm here if you need me," he adds, speaking just as sweetly as before despite your harsh tone.

"I'm fine, just go away!" you snap, throwing a pillow at the door. "Fuck off, just leave me alone."

You didn't have to see his face to know how much your words had hurt him. You regret the sentence as soon as they slipped past your lips, but it was too late. You said them, and they can’t be unsaid. 

"Okay," he whispers, tapping on the door as a farewell.

It felt like it had all just got a whole lot worse, and you just tarnished the one thing that made it easier to cope. The guilt was eating you up, and all you wanted to do was apologise. But you told him to leave, so why would he still be here?

You pace your room for a few minutes, gathering your words for an apology while momentarily cursing yourself out. You were scrounging for ways to make it up to him and patch over the mess you made.

With a small pep talk and a final nod, you open your door and see Peter sitting on the floor beside the door, leaning against the wall with crossed legs.

"Hi," you smile weakly.

"Hey," he smiles, an airy tone to his voice, speaking like he finally got his breath back. "I'm sorry— I shouldn't have pushed you. I know how you get. It’s the last thing I wanted—" he anxiously gushes, talking like he had practiced it. 

You interrupt, shaking your head. "No, please don't do that. You have nothing to be sorry for. It’s all my fault— I'm so sorry. I should have never spoken to you like that. It all got too much, and I couldn't— I'm just really sorry," you profess, fidgeting with the hem of your sweater. 

"I know, honey," he replies, nodding understandingly. 

"You're too good to me," you whisper, avoiding his green gaze. "I'm just not used to it."

"I'm still here, baby and I ain't gonna leave you," he says, looking up at you with sweet doeful eyes. "I'm not leaving you like the others." 

He extends an arm, his hand reaching for yours as he guides you closer, gently tugging you downwards. He nods at his lap, so you straddle his crossed legs, pressing your chest to his, wrapping your arms around his neck to hug him tighter. His big, warm arms encase you and his hand brushes comforting strokes down your back, as his other clutches the back of your head, holding you like he's protecting you. 

You bury your face further into the crook of his neck, silently weeping and embracing him tighter. "I love you," you mumble against his skin, playing with the curls behind his ears. 

"I love you," he smiles, pulling back to look at you. He wipes under your eyes, softly brushing away your residual tears. He kisses the damp patch of skin beside your nose, looking at you with nothing but admiration. "... so much."

My apologies, your majesty. (Joseph x gn!reader)

It was the middle of a match in Leo’s Memory when you noticed one of your teammates had been chaired. You knew the hunter was Joseph by the cameras you found around the map. He was the only hunter who had cameras. You had talked with him before about what you would do in matches together since you both had taken a liking to each other. He demanded you stay away when he chaired someone.. but your teammate was currently crying for help. You couldn’t let your teammate suffer alone and none of your other teammates were bothering to help them. You decided to leave the cipher you were at and run towards them.

You approached carefully, making sure Joseph wouldn’t see you. He was facing the other way while playing with his rapier. It took a second, but you were able to get to the chair quietly. However, you felt Joseph whack you aside the head almost immediately. You cried out in pain from the impact. You turned towards him and saw a look of betrayal and hurt on his face. You instantly realized your mistake and started to sob.

“I-I’m sorry Joseph!” You cried out apologetically. You held your hands to your head as you were now terror shocked. Joseph looked at you with worry and sadness.

“What did I tell you?” Joseph questioned with hurt laced in his tone. He reached over to grab you by your arm. He then lead you over to a secluded area of the map where he draped you over a crate, completely ignoring your teammate that was still chaired.

“I-I’m sorry.. I wanted to save them.. th-they were crying for help…” You tried to explain in between sobs. You heard Joseph put his rapier away and sigh.

“This is why I told you not to save them. I hurt you because I didn’t know it was you.” He retorted with a sigh. He reached over to brush your hair out of your face.

“I’m so sorry.. I went against your word.. I’ll take any punishment you give me..” You offered as you began to tug on his shirt.

“I had already planned on punishing you.” He draped you over the crate again. Almost immediately he landed a slap against your ass. You squeaked in surprise.

“I-I thought you didn’t want to hurt me..” You muttered out. Joseph landed another slap against your ass. Another squeak left your lips.

“With my rapier. It’s highly dangerous if I hit you with that. You’re lucky I hit you with the back of it.” He retorted with a grunt. He landed another slap to your ass. You clenched your fists at the pain.

“That’s.. fair. A-Are you gonna keep slapping me?” You questioned while turning your head to look back at him. He immediately hit your ass two times in a row. You whined at the pain of the slap. “I guess that’s a yes..” You muttered out with a soft whine.

“Do you think you’ve learned your lesson now?” Joseph questioned as he roughly squeezed one of your asscheeks. You whined from the pain of his nails digging into your asscheek.

“Yes! Definitely! So sorry, Joseph… it won’t happen again.” You pleaded desperately while squirming on the crate. Joseph rolled his eyes at your squirming and placed another hard slap to your ass again. You yelped out in pain.

“Alright.” He said with a sigh. He then gently rubbed your asscheeks with his hand to help ease your pain. “I’ll trust you, for now. Don’t get in the way again, do you understand?” Joseph declared while staring down at you. You slowly slipped down onto the floor and looked up at him with a deep blush on your cheeks. You nodded your head as your eyes were full with tears. “Don’t cry now, dear. I forgive you.” He reassured as he crouched down to pull you into a hug. You gently hugged him back and rubbed your face against his neck.

“I won’t do it again.. I love you, Joseph, and I don’t want to upset you.” You reassured in a soft tone.

“Love you too, dear.” Joseph smiled softly and gently rubbed your back in a soothing manner. Neither of you seemed to care at this moment about the game you were currently in. The sound of the sirens going off didn’t cause either of you to flinch. Your focus remained on each other.

You pulled away from the hug to then press a gentle kiss to Joseph’s lips. He kissed you back almost instantly. You stayed with your lips together for a moment before pulling back to look into each other’s eyes.

“Trying to distract me from the game with a kiss?” Joseph questioned playfully with a soft smirk on his face. Your face went red at his accusation.

“N-no, no! I just wanted to remind you how much I loved you..” You defended shyly while shaking your head and waving your hands at him. You became slightly flustered and averted your gaze from him. He chuckled at your reaction and gently caressed your cheek. You felt your cheeks redden more at the feeling of his hand on them.

“I’m teasing, my love.” Joseph reassure while pulling you closer to him. He smiled wide at you, feeling the spark between you two. “Aren’t you going to go with your teammates?” He questioned while playing with your hair between his fingers.

“Well… I was thinking..” You fiddled with your fingers while looking down at the ground. “That I would be nice enough to surrender to you.” You spoke shyly. Joseph widened his eyes.

“Really? My dear, you don’t have to do such a thing..” He reassured while gently caressing your cheek again. You looked up into his eyes as you spoke again.

“I-It’s only fair.. although you punished me.. I feel like it is the right thing to do..” You explained with a soft blush. “Plus, it means we both get a tie.. so we both win.” You reason with a confident expression. Joseph carefully listened to your reasoning and sighed.

“Alright. I’ll let you do it this time.” He agreed while gently poking your nose. You giggled softly at his gesture. You then took a step away from him and bowed.

“I hereby surrender to you, your majesty.” You said with a big smile, obviously putting on a show. Joseph chuckled as he watched you.

“I guess that means I’ll take you to my room.” He declared while walking towards you. You stood up straight and started to giggle at his proposal until he suddenly picked you up by your waist to throw you over his shoulder. You squeaked in surprise.

“Joseph! Put me down!~” You giggled as you began to writhe around in his hold. He kept you steady as he began walking to the gate.

“Hush now dear, or I’ll give you some more spankings.” He declared with a smirk. You didn’t listen and continued to squirm. He stayed true to his word and landed a slap against your ass. You immediately laid still.

“Alright.. just don’t drop me!” You declared at him. He merely chuckled.

I love reverse robins as a way to explore dynamics that can still be the same even if everything is so so different, so yeah, and in omegaverse with Dick being the only beta in a pack that isn't used to it and yet somehow holding them together is just great!

but I have sort of difficult relationship with rr, because I have preferences about them, that I don't see a lot lol

one of them Batgirls (minus Steph, or no, idk), being the canon-age, so no, babs isn't youngest in this, she's older than Damian and they have a love-hate relationships that are more sibling-like, Cass is the third eldest, Duke is forth and so on, Staph probably still between Jason and Tim, but idk. Harper also has her canon age, because I said so, anyway, back to all that

another is that Tim joined because of Dick and his obsession with him caused by trauma and all that. So in Reverse Robins he won't be joining the family before Dick. I sorta like him joining during the battle for cowl, the same goes for Duke, actually, but for different reasons. So Tim would be over 17 (lol), and he steps in because Dick being Dick would try and hold a leash on a bunch of elder batfam people who try to become Batmans but they all suck so ye, Tim steps in to help Dick. I have this post about reverse robins where ages are reversed, but not the order of adoption, so something like that would still be good for our reverse robins omegaverse thingie we talk about. so again, we can go around that with B adopting Tim before any of that, but that's a different can of worms. Also I sorta prefer Tim being more on the Oracle side

Now for died and was revived and it was a shitshow (affectionate), I think it should be either Jason or Steph, but also Steph's story as Spoiler compiles me, so no, Tim won't be the Robin who died (they are also Shadows, not Robins, and nobody knew who really lived through all the vigilante thing, if anything and we make Duke join the first, him and Damian constantly changing does create a nice creature vibe, anyway), for me it's still Jason

Bruce, at first I wanted to make you suffer, but now I'm going to kill you, how DARE you endanger the kid, what dO YOU MEAN HE ISN'T ADOPTED AND YOU KEEP HIS AS A WARD?! so ye, tiny Dick being the wrench that broke all Jason's dramatic plans

Dick's also has a 1000 quota stare, because he went through grieving B, fought teeth and nails to have his own vigilante persona, and he's used to wrangle Bruce and Jean-Paul, as well as Duke and Damian, and Batgirls, the kid is unfazed by the last Shadow coming back to life and his bag of severed heads is like huh, anyway, moving on

also yes, Dick is going to be smoothered by everyone, he would like it, as long as aside from that time he's treated as equal and stop trying to carry me away I had everything under control. also like really not getting the whole pack stuff, but mimicking it well enough that there's a bet who he would grow up to be, and Damian and Cass look at each other like nope, not telling them

i'm giving both angst and non-angst...

whenever either of them get nightmares, they always go to the other's room - no knock, just climb into bed, no questions - and then they just hug it out. they talk if they need to but they just comfort each other the rest of the night :')

jay was so upset post-seabound and so distant, cole tried everything he could to not get jay to shut himself out from everyone. cole encouraged jay to talk about the alternate timeline with him (or at least most of it) and cole tried his best to stay calm or unphased bc he didn't wanna upset jay further but deep down he was PISSED off abt nadakhan

cole worries about jay an unusual amount (seen in the WotD novel) so he tries his absolute hardest to be gentle with jay if he's upset or in a bad mood or if there's smth really bothering him. he just hates the thought of jay not being happy ig :(

jay and cole dated between the end of s4 and pre-s6 (this hc comes and goes sometimes im like yeah could make sense and then other times im like hmm maybe not. but this is why we have h2h)

this is more abt their powers BUT one of my fave hcs is that since earth and lightning kinda go hand in hand in nature, that if jay is too charged up, cole can use his powers to cool him down a little. just like a simple hand on the shoulder or smth would do the trick

cole tells jay "i love you" all the time but jay thinks he means it in a friendly way so jay says it back but cole never corrects him :(

they're less close in the wildbrain seasons because cole confessed his feelings and distanced himself because he didn't want to make jay feel uncomfortable (jay did not feel uncomfortable)

jay and cole got in a fight sometime after s13 because cole was ditching him a lot/ignoring him/whatever to go off to shintaro and hang out with vania/the upply and jay got upset or jealous so they fought about it.. then cole went to shintaro for a few days to calm down because he thought jay was being unreasonable :( (they talked it out in the end tho) i think about this one. a. lot.

every time there's a new ice cream flavour at the ice cream place in the city, they both go together to try it out (one of them has a secret blog reviewing the flavours)

jay is the only one that knows cole is gay/lgbt because cole feels like he doesn't need to tell anyone BUT he wanted to be able to swoon over guys with someone and ofc that person had to be his best friend

one time jay was supposed to go to a dance lesson with nya but she had to go on a mission last minute SO jay begged cole to go with him :)

they went to a couples game night once as bffs and everyone around them got mad because they won (nothing can compare to bromance)

they would be THE most annoying couple. super chill and secretive in public but literally the most lovesick dudes on the planet when at the monastery or alone. so touchy and affectionate. you would literally want to krill them because theyre so annoying but so cute I HATE THEM i love them sm

I think the whole ass divorce arc that jumble and fuddler had was so unnecessary? Like dont get me wrong i love a good arguement with couples and see how they handle it in media, but the way lars or tove (idk who wrote it i think it was lars) but yeah tf?? It was so weird and made me really mad idk i think that was unnecessary

Secondly, honestly? I don't tend to evaluate stories based on "necessity", as you could make the argument that any story unnecessary.

Lars' comics are weird in that their vibes went off the rails after the first couple of stories, and no matter what questionable content he's made over the 15 years he's worked on the strip alone I don't blame him for reaching deep into the pits of his psyche when he's metaphorically been held at gunpoint for the sake of a job.

Fuddler and Married Life seemed like a particularly, uncomfortably personal story about a relationship that started out great and then fell apart once societal expectations of marriage were thrusted upon them.

We don't really have detailed information on Lars' relationship with his late wife, Nita, and Nita died when their daughter Soohia was only 6 years old - I've read a Guardian interview with Sophia where she says the Janssons never really discussed Nita because she was a very depressing person to talk about, so maybe that's why, but Lars seems to express a very specific kind of resentment in both Fuddler and Married Life and Moomin Engagement. Whether those stories really are a reflection of his relationship with Nita, I can't say at all, but it reads as concerning especially when the thesis of the story is that couples like Fuddler and Jumble are better off not having children because of how stressful they are to the inexperienced couple.

It's upsetting to see a cute couple like Fuddler and Jumble fall apart over something like marriage, trust me, it felt weird to witness it for the first time myself, but in retrospect that story in particular came from a very personal experience and it feels more meaningful to view it that way than through the lens of what you wanted the characters to end up with their relationship.

It's a story about how marriage and children really isn't for everyone, and it's interesting to think about especially given the time it came out (1963) and who exactly wrote it.
