I challenged myself to not eat sweets this past January and by god was it hard because once a day I'd get this intense craving for chocolate until, two weeks in, I decided I'd allow myself a bit of dark chocolate (80% cocoa) every day and ever since I've been completely fine
The moral of the story is allowing myself one small exception makes sticking to my goal so much easier because I've essentially agreed to a compromise with myself so it's a win-win
This, and my joint pain gets so much better when I cut down industrial sugar
