top five albums (i’ll stick to recent-ish bcos all time is too hard) : SAWAYAMA / rina sawayama, 2000AND4EVA / bree runway, how i’m feeling now / charli xcx, kai’s self titled mini album, songs for our daughter / laura marling

top five sandwich toppings : oooh idk i usually lean towards the more mediterranean options ... halloumi, sundried tomatoes, hummus, pesto, caramelised onions? idk if they would all go together necessarily. but these are the top tier

top five tear jerking movie moments : ok i don’t cry a lot at movies and when i do i surprise myself bcos it’s not necessarily a moment that’s meant to be sad jhdfskjh. i’ll have to scroll through my letterboxd lists to refresh my memory sp here goes in no particular order and these will probs all be spoilers so im sorry lmao: 

1. (this is deffo no 1 no question) the last part of amélie when she finds the video tape of her old neighbour telling her to be brave and go after nino even though she’s terrified and thinks he’s lost interest and walked away but when she runs out to find him, he’s come back for her. and when they finally kiss it’s the most quiet and gentle coming together of two lovers i’ve ever seen on film.. whereas a hollywood romance would go for an explosive dramatic embrace where the orchestra swells and it starts to rain or an onlooking crowd claps .. this scene is far more satisfying and impactful in its sweetness and stillness and i fucking sobbed the first time i saw it 😩 still gutwrenching in the best way with every watch

2. the final scene of before sunset ..... “baby you are gonna miss that plane” UGH 

3. lost and found (1996).... the last 10 mins killed me.. the fact that takeshi kaneshiro’s character spends the majority of the movie helping this girl find another man but still follows her to the literal edge of the world... and realise they found each other....... help i love love so much it makes me SICk

4. atonement when u realise what really happened to keira knightley and james mcavoy :(

5. the scene in lady bird where she’s left home and her mother refused to say goodbye, and she finds the letters that her dad salvaged that her mother wrote her. the mother daughter dynamic in this movie is so much like mine and my mother’s and this bit made me cry like little baby.

top 5 moments of the last year: passing my second year of uni (3rd attempt of doing so, and i got a 2.1 despite the literal pandemic going on... pretty proud of myself for that one);   being able to see my friends over the summer when lockdown restrictions in the uk were relaxed.. it was so nice to just sit in the sun and talk until the sun went down and i’m never ever taking their company for granted ever again;    raising enough money to buy my mum a wheelchair in a day bcos ppl on the internet are literally angels and i was so blown away by the generosity ppl showed even in a global crisis;    finishing accutane and finally having clear skin;   then finding the will to actually be creative and have hobbies again (even if i was driven to it due to sheer maddening boredom) kjdshfkjh still nice to recover that after years of having no motivation to do anything of the sort
