Trevor groans as he slowly leaves Morpheusâ arms, his mouth giving out a yawn as he flutters his eyes open. It takes him a second before he notices you staring at him, the wide grin on your lips making him tiredly quirk an eyebrow at you.
âWhat?â
Your lips stretch onto your cheeks, a teasing glint appearing in your eyes. "I heard you talking in your sleep."
He groans once more, one of his hands shoving your face away. "Shush and go back to sleep."
A laugh errupts from your mouth as you push his hand away from your face, the mere sound of it causing his own lips to stretch into a genuine smile. He tiredly closes his eyes just as he takes a hold of you, your laugh turning into a chuckle when he brings you closer to him.
âHm...â He gently press his lips against your temple, nuzzling his face into your shoulder soon after. âWhat did I say...?â
You approach your lips to his ear, your words coming out into a whisper. âYou said you loved me.â
âUgh. Disgusting.â He scrunches up his nose; though, a grin rapidly takes over his lips a few seconds later. âSadly, itâs true.â
You giggle, pressing your own lips at the top of his head. He canât help but slowly drift off when he feels your finger gently caressing his cheek, your own lips stretching into a sweet smile as you stare at him.
âI love you too, Trevor.â
â... you better...â He doesnât open his eyes as he holds you even closer. âCause Iâm never letting you go.â

A Hell Of A Good Place (1/2)
Authorâs Note:Â First time writing for The Good Place! This first part is basically everything that happens in the first version of The Good Place. Hope itâs not too bad... +++ I ADDED ANOTHER PART AT THE END
Pairing: Trevor x Reader; slight!Eleanor x Reader
Warning: Spoilers for season 1 and 2.
Word Count: 8936 words.
Summary: The story of how a demon named Trevor falls in love with you and tries to keep it a secret.
This is Part One - Part Two
PART ONEThe first time you met Trevor was in the first version of The Fake Good Place.
You were accompanying Michael and Eleanor to the train station, holding your blond friendâs hand because you were forking scared for her. She tried to reassure you about her situation with small smiles, knowing for a fact that you were somehow blaming yourself for all of this, but you couldnât help yourself. Eleanor Shellstrop was going to The Bad Place.  You had tried to convince Michael to reconsider your friendâs potential over and over again, but he had only sighed a couple of times at your sad expressions, staying silent for most of the walk. Itâs when the train finally arrived that he seemed to somehow communicate with you, the eternal being making you and Eleanor stand behind him to protect you⊠and when the âdemonsâ walked towards you three, you just wished they wouldnât look like other humans.
Especially the hot guy who kicked a random chair on his way over.
âHello, Trevor.â You hear the forced politeness in Michaelâs voice, the attractive demonâs smirk stretching out as he sees him.
âHey, there he is! Good to see you again, Mikey! Hey, think fast!â He throws a peanut can at the angel, not losing his smile one second. âI brought you something.â
âOh.â Michael looks at the can to read the label, then slightly smiles at the demon. âNuts⊠thank you-â
The man gasps in surprise when flaming snakes fly out of the can, also shocking both you and Eleanor while the demons laugh at your reaction. You feel the blond woman squeeze your hand in fear, now looking for the comfort youâve been trying to give her for the last ten minutes. Michael only politely smiles at the unwanted guests and shows the empty can to them.
âFlaming snakes ate all the nuts you brought me.â
Trevor rolls his eyes and sighs in annoyance.
âYouâre too nice to humiliate.â He then turns his gaze on Eleanor, a light appearing in his eyes. âOh, hello!â
You feel your friend hide behind you and Michael, the blond probably sending the demon a suspicious glare as he points at her.
âYou look like a piece of crap.â He smirks, probably enjoying this moment too much. âAre-are you Eleanor?â
You exchange a side look with the woman, none of you liking where this is going.
âDude, youâre like a legend in The Bad Place! Youâre-Check this out!â He unbuttons his black jacket to show a âDress Bitchâ T-shirt.
âDress Biiiitch!â
Trevor seems to lock eyes with you for a moment, his smirk growing on his cheeks.
âItâs pretty great, right?â
You open your eyes wide at the sight, then shake your head at the eternal being, suddenly understanding who made these horrible T-Shirts back on Earth. Eleanor just looks at the demons with an ashamed look, the guilt of the events coming back to her. You squeeze her hand another time, silently telling her that youâll stay by her side no matter what.
âTrevorâŠâ Michael tries to stay serious, giving the demon a long look. âDo you know what caused this mistake? âCause I cannot figure it out.â
âNo, weâre stumped, but-â Trevor looks behind him for a moment to look at his companions before he turns back. â-donât sweat it, champ. Sheâs definitely one of ours.â
No, sheâs not!
Trevor looks at Eleanor and points at the train behind him.
âSo weâll just roll on out, and you can get back to⊠putting rainbows up your butt or whatever you do here. Okay?â He glances at your hand intertwined with Eleanorâs and he slightly loses his smirk, clapping his own hands two times. âHey. Say goodbye to your fake soulmate here, sweetheart. Weâve got a long ride.â
âWhat?â Eleanor frowns at Trevorâs words while you feel your face get hot, the blond looking back at Michael with a dumbfounded expression. âYou mean I have to leave right now?!â
âUm⊠Trevor!â The demon stops in his tracks to look back at Michael, already annoyed by the situation. âFor decencyâs sake, let her have some good-byes.â
Trevor points at you. âI thought thatâs why her fake soulmate was here.â
âOh, Iâm notâŠâ You feel flustered when all eyes turn on you, never liking to have the attention. â⊠Iâm not her soulmate.â
âSheâs my best friend, doofus.â You send Eleanor a smile, happy that sheâs trying to salvage you from your own shyness.
âTrevor, pleaseâŠâ Michael puts his hands together in a somewhat pleading way.
âArgâŠâ The demon rolls his eyes again. âGod, good people are the worst.â
You quirk an eyebrow at that, the guy looking at his watch in annoyance.
âOkay, uh⊠30 minutes. We gotta go back to The Bachelor.â He points another time at Eleanor. âIâm gonna be pissed if I miss the Rose Ceremony.â
You try to imagine the demons watching The Bachelor with this passion, a hilarious and impossible scene in your head that you canât quite believe that itâs true, which result in making you snort and getting once more everyoneâs attention.
âOh, Iâm sorry, babeâŠâ Trevor tilts his head at you, a weird vibe coming off of him. â.. is something funny?â
âYeah, youâre fun-â You feel Eleanor crush your hand in hers to make you shut up, the blond probably trying to protect you from getting tortured by unwanted guests. â-I mean⊠no! Nothingâs funny.â
Trevor points at you. âNo, somethingâs funny. You laughed.â
âI donât think so. Or maybe I did? Who knows? Iâm weird like that, haha. Do yo-â
âOkay!â Eleanor talks before you embarrass yourself more. âIâm gonna go say my goodbyes now. Youâre coming (Y/N)?â
You donât have time to answer that sheâs already dragging you away with her, your face getting redder by the second. You two donât notice Michael getting an high five from Trevor, the demons now starting to discuss important matters between them.
â°â°â°â°â°â
âThis system is bull-shirt!â Eleanor zips up her bag and walks towards you and Chidi sitting on her couch. âThere should be a medium place for people like me who kinda sucked, but in a fun chill way!â
Chidi sadly smiles. âI agree.â
âItâs my fault.â They both turn their attention on you, noticing the tears coming into your eyes.
âHey, babe, no.â Eleanor drops her bag on the floor and takes your hands in hers, making you stand up. âYou had absolutely nothing to do with this, okay? Itâs not your fault I was a shitty person on Earth.â
âBut still, I-â
âNo, stop.â She points her finger at you, giving you a long stare. âDonât let the mean voice get to you. Youâre a great friend and Iâm happy that I got to know you here.â
You sigh, letting it pass for now. â⊠okay.â
âGreat.â She smiles sadly as Chidi stands up to, the blond looking between you two. âIâm sorry I dragged you two into this. I know you guys did everything to help me.â
She hugs Chidi first, telling him that he was a very good fake soulmate. When she turns to you to give you an embrace, you have to try your best to not cry.
âYou were always too kind to me, (Y/N).â She pats your back, silently telling you that you deserve to be in The Good Place. âPromise me youâll stand up for yourself a little, okay? I wonât be here to fight the others for you.â
You sadly laugh, letting her go.
âOkay, I promise.â
Thatâs when you hear knocking on the door, Tahani and Jason soon entering right after. Eleanor looks at them dumbfounded, not understanding why they would come here in the first place, but you and Chidi shares a knowing smile.
âWhat are you guys doing here?â
âWell, we only thought it was only proper to see you off.â Tahani walks over slowly, Jason closing the door. âItâs the neighborly thing to do.â
Eleanor realizes something and smiles. âYou guys came to say good-bye because youâre my friends.â
âWell, IâŠâ Tahani breathes, not really wanting to show friendship after feeling such betrayal. â⊠suppose some part of me possibly has a sense of casual kinship with you. Much as one might be fond of a street cat.â
The blond instantly hugs the gorgeous woman, taking her by surprise.
âThanks, Tahani. Sorry about everything.â She frees the model, giving her a small smile. âIâm really glad weâre friends.â
âHey, umâŠâ You feel yourself blush when everyone turns their attention on you. â⊠do you mind if we follow you to the train station?â
Her smile stretches out. âIâll be glad if you do.â
â°â°â°â°â°â
You all arrive at the train station together, Eleanor holding your hand again. None of you knows which one of you is trying to comfort the other one⊠but you like to think that itâs both.
âOh, hey, dum-dum. Youâre ready to go?â Trevor smiles when he sees the blond woman, but it stretches out when he sees Chidi and he points at him. âOh, you must be Chidi. Trying to improve her. Bold plan, bro.â
âWell, actually, she learned a great deal in a very short amount of time-â
âOh really? Really? I donât care!â He claps his hands together. âAlright! Letâs hit it⊠Oh!â
He gets closer to Eleanor, showing off the bottom part of his own face.
âYou should smile more. You women have such pretty smiles.â
âFork you.â You snort at Eleanorâs outburst, the blond gaining confidence when she hears you.
âSee? I was right.â Trevor points at you, making you stop laughing immediately. âYour friend here has a beautiful smile.â
You feel the heat hit your face like a rock, which makes the demonâs smile grow. Eleanor slightly pushes you behind her upon seeing this, giving the demon a threatening look. Sheâll try to protect you until the end no matter what, and you appreciate that. But Trevor just grins and boops her nose, not affected at all.
âLove you, babe.â He puts his hand behind her back to guide her unto the train. âCanât wait to torture you.â
He then proceeds to send you a wink behind her back, making you cross your arms on your chest in embarrassment. Once sheâs on the train, Eleanor turns her head to look at you, and you try your best to send her a comforting smile.
As soon as she disappears from your vision, the voices come back to taunt you.
You donât deserve to be in The Good Place!
You should be the one on that train!
Itâs all your fault!
âI canât stand this.â Chidiâs voice makes you come back to your senses just in time to see him leave. âIâm gonna go see Michael!â
You, Tahani and Jason watch him disappear towards the town, none of you knowing what you should do.
âWell, I guess Jason and I will go back to our home.â The model looks back at you and gives you a comforting smile. âWould you like to come with us, (Y/N)?â
âThanks Tahani, butâŠâ You look back at the train, then sigh. âIâll stay here until Eleanor is really gone.â
âOh, wellâŠâ You expect her to say her goodbye, but she instead nods and stays put. âI guess we can do that too.â
You give her a small smile, already knowing that she secretly didnât want to miss Eleanorâs departure.
â°â°â°â°â°â
Fifteen minutes later, you feel your heart squeeze in agony as the train starts to leave the station, only to see Michael and Chidi arrive running with intense expressions.
âStop that train!â
You watch with bewilderment as the train stops under Michaelâs command, the eternal being hopping on it right after. You send a âwhat the fork is happeningâ look at Chidi, who just come to stand beside you and your other two friends, a small smile on his lips.
You canât help but smile too when you see Michael get off the train a few seconds later, Eleanor following him. The blond immediately runs to you and hugs you, feeling the tears getting out of your eyes as you hold your best friend close to you.
âWait, you wanna keep her!?â Trevor gets off the train right after, sending the angel an irritated look. âBro, thatâs our girl! We agreed on this!â
âNo.â Michael shakes his head, not taking any of the demon crap. âWhat we agreed on was that this was a mistake. Trevor, we are in uncharted territory here. Until we can sort this out, sheâs staying with us.â
Trevor breathes out angrily. âAlright, fine! But until this is resolved, weâre keeping the other Eleanor!â
Wait⊠what?
âFine⊠what? Iâm sorryâŠâ Michael frowns. âThe other Eleanor?â
âYeah, the real Eleanor? The one who was supposed to be here but got sent down to us instead? Sheâs on the train.â Seeing that no one seems to believe him, Trevor rolls his eyes and turns to the train. âEleanor! Come on out!â
A young woman wearing dirty gray clothes gets off of the train with a slightly scared look, all of you looking back at her with dumbfounded expressions.
âHi, everyone, Iâm Eleanor ShellstropâŠ?â
Trevor smirks proudly at everyoneâs face, until you realize something.
âWait a minute!â You frown angrily and point at him. âYou guys were going to leave with both Eleanors without saying anything!?â
Trevorâs smirk grows. âBusted.â
âYou motherforke-â
âHey.â Eleanor takes your hand in hers, giving you a serious look. You slightly nod, biting down your own cheek to try to swallow down your anger.
âThis isâŠâ Michael shakes his head. âLetâs just try to solve this at my office.â
â°â°â°â°â°â
Why do you suck at forking everything?
âHey! Ding-dongs!â Trevor snaps in fingers in front of your blond friendâs face, also getting your attention away from your bad thoughts. âWe figured out whatâs happened here.â
He then points to the two Eleanor sitting down in front of him and Michael, you, Chidi and the other demons standing behind them.
âYou two are both named Eleanor Shellstrop.â Trevor talks to you all like youâre babies. âThe day you died, you were both in Phoenix, Arizona, shopping at the same grocery store.â
Trevor then proceeds to make the sound of a long fart, clearly annoyed at the whole situation, while Michael sighs and continues the explanation.
âThe ârealâ Eleanor was attending a conference on the death penalty, and you stopped by to pick up food for a local homeless shelter.â The new-founded woman nods. âAnd Fake Eleanor was there buying margarita mix and a magazine called, âCelebrity Baby Plastic Surgery Disastersâ.â
You notice that Trevor has been looking at you with a bored look, his eyes lightening up once you meet his gaze. You quirk an eyebrow at him, wondering what he can possibly think, and he just smirks at you.
⊠so you decide to continue to listen to Michael instead.
âIncredibly, you both died in the same 10,000th of a second, in the same accident, because Real Eleanor was trying to save Fake Eleanorâs life by pushing you out of the way of the truck.â
Your blond friend turns to Real Eleanor with a smile.
âGuess you really botched that one, eh?â
âI didâŠâ Real Eleanor gives her a guilty look. âAnd I am so, so sorry.â
â⊠itâs all good.â
âSoâŠâ Chidi squints his eyes, still confused. âHow did you not realize you had the wrong Eleanor?â
âOh.â Michael makes a small movement with his hands. âWe donât know what people look like, only name and profiles. On Earth, theyâre just dots on a map.â
The eternal being then proceeds to show you all a hologram map with red and green dots on it, but Trevor sighs in annoyance again and crosses his arms on his chest.
âYeah, whatever! Weâve got our wires crossed, we picked up the wrong dot, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.â He catches you smile at his behavior, saving it in his head for later. âPoint is, there are two Eleanors. The nice boring one is yours. The trash bag is ours!â
âWai-â
âSO!â Trevor stands up and walks around the room. âTrashbag! Letâs go! Letâs hit it! And, alsoâŠâ
The demon puts his hands on Eleanorâs shoulders, smirking.
âIâm still waiting on that smile, gorgeous.â The blond woman rolls her eyes at him. âCome oooon. Show me one of those beautiful smiles your friend keeps giving me.â
He hears you scoff in embarrassment behind him, which makes his smirk stretch out. Michael shakes his head at him, then tries to take control back on the situation.
âTrevor.â
âWhereâs that smile?â
âTrevor, how about we negotiate? Give you something else?â
The demon sends him a bored look.
âWhat in the world could you have that we would want?â He shakes his head with a smug. âMikey, unless you tell me that we can take another human instead of Eleanor, Iâm not interested.â
You canât help but feel like that is directed at you.
âAll right, but.. how about a unicorn?â Michael awkwardly smiles. âRight? I bet you donât have one of those.â
âAh⊠that is trueâŠâ Michael laughs as Trevorâs smug turns into a creepy one. âMight be fun to skin it alive, eat its raw flesh⊠maybe break off the horn, grind it up, snort it⊠Okay, letâs keep talking⊠yeah⊠and can we also take the pretty human?â
He points at you without even looking, making you want to hide behind Chidi (which you kind of do). Michael looks at you for a second, confused as to why Trevor would want to take you.
â⊠no.â
âAwn, come on! I wanna torture her!â He pinches your cheek, making you step back from him in horror. âShe has such a cute a face, I bet sheâll have great reactions!â
âNo!â Eleanor gives him a hard look. â(Y/N) is a good person! You canât take her!â
âAwn, bummer.â He snaps his fingers before he points at Michael. âYouâre gonna need more than a unicorn to convince me, then.â
âIâm sure we can think of something⊠but for now-â Michael stands up from his place and awkwardly smile again. â-how about we show Real Eleanor the place she was supposed to stay in? Maybe even show her around town a little bit?â
âYeah!â You instantly jump in on the idea, not liking that your life might be on the line here as you give the new-founded woman a large grin. âLetâs do that right now! Shall we?â
â°â°â°â°â°â
âWell, hereâsâŠâ Your blond friend gives out a small smile at Real Eleanor. â⊠your house.â
âItâs beautiful! I love Icelandic primitive design! I kind of wish it had a clown nook- oh!â She points at the clown paintings, her happy smile growing on her cheeks. âThere it is!â
You feel someone flick your cheek, making you frown in pain, and you slightly turn your head to see Trevor smirking at you.
âWhat do you want?â His eyes light up when you give him attention.
âI want to see you smile again.â You roll eyes at him, looking away and walking towards your blond friend. âCome on, youâre pretty when you smile!â
âHereâs the bedroom.â Eleanor points to the bed up on the ledge as you come to stand beside her, not wanting to be near the somehow attractive demon. âItâs kind of hard to get up on this dumb ledge though, itâs like-â
She cuts herself off when Real Eleanor pushes a hidden button under the ledge, revealing hidden stairs right after. You gasp, your blond friend exchanging a long look with you and Chidi.
âYou have got to be forking kidding me.â You snort at her words, the blond turning her head at you to send you a small smile. She takes your hand in hers, squeezing it a little to thank you for being her friend.
âHey, Fake Eleanor!â Trevorâs voice takes everyoneâs attention, the demon pointing at the paintings as he walks towards you. âWe used this same clown painting to decorate the room you were supposed to live in down there! I swear to Bieber!â
You clench your teeth when he stops right beside you, tilting his head at your hand intertwined with Eleanorâs.
âWait-â Chidi gives Real Eleanor a curious look. âWhat was your house like?â
âWell, I was living in what I assume is Eleanorâs worst nightmare.â Trevor nods at Real Eleanorâs words and slightly nudges you to listen to the story, which pushes you to continue ignoring him. âEveryday was basically one endless baby shower for a woman I didnât know. But also, somehow, I had to organize it. And, if I didnât remember everyoneâs name, I got a very strong electric shock.â
âYep, that was my pitch!â Trevorâs smug stretches out as he turns to you, trying to tell how proud of himself he is for that idea.
âAnd then, at night, it was pretty classic torture. Uh⊠flying piranhas, lava monsters, college improv, and there was always jazz music playing.â
âUgh!â Your blond friend makes a disgusted expression and turns to you. âI hate jazz! Every jazz song is like forty minutes long! Itâs like, we get it! You can blow on a trumpet! Wrap it up, Elton John!â
Chidi shakes his head. âFamously a piano player.â
You canât help but laugh out loud at that, hiding your face with your free hand. You always do that when you laugh, not wanting the world to see you at your happiest. But despite that, Eleanor smiles at you. She just loves to hear your laugh, and sheâs glad her behavior can make you feel happy.
âI bet I can make you laugh too.â You roll your eyes at Trevorâs whispered words, ignoring the thrill coming up your spine.
âI donât mean to be a bother, butâŠâ Real Eleanor smiles awkwardly from her place. â⊠could I possibly get some water and whatever food doesnât turn to spiders in your mouth?â
âOh!â Chidi shakes his head and smiles. âOf course! Letâs get some dinner!â
âYeah, weâll all go!â Trevor smirks, happy about his idea. âPerfect double date with a third wheel. Two losers, a trash bag, a demon and a Pretty Smile! Letâs hit it!â
He puts his arms around your shoulders and shuffles your hair, ignoring your personal space as you get your hand out of Eleanorâs to try and push him away from you.
âWell, Iâm sure (Y/N) wouldnât like to be a third wheelâŠâ You somehow manage to get out of Trevorâs weird embrace, stepping back to hide behind your blond friend while Real Eleanor talks. â(Y/N), how about you invite your soulmate?â
You freeze, her words cutting your throat.
âUmâŠâ You slowly move your head back at Real Eleanor, bad thoughts attacking you. âI-I d-â
âHey.â Blond Eleanor turns back to you and squeezes your shoulders, trying to force you to concentrate on her. âYouâre such an amazing person! You donât need anyone to complete you, okay? Donât listen to the lies in your head.â
âI donât understand.â Real Eleanor frowns in confusion. âAre you saying-â
â(Y/N) doesnât have a soulmate.â Blond Eleanor sends Chidi a hard look, which makes him stutter. âB-but we try not to talk about it.â
âOh.â Real Eleanor gives you a guilty look. âIâm so sorry. I didnât mean-â
âItâs okay.â You send her back a small smile. âIâm used to it now.â
âWell!â Trevor claps his hands together. âWhat are we waiting for? Letâs go get dinner, shall we?â
When he looks at you and gives you a smirk, you canât help but wonder if you can find a way to get out of this horrible double date.
â°â°â°â°â°â
âAh, man. This is gonna make a primo dump later on.â
You laugh while drinking your wine, and as if on cue, you start to choke on it. Your blond friend instantly pats your back to help you, Trevorâs smirk growing on his cheeks.
âOh god, (Y/N)!â Real Eleanor puts her hands on yours from across the table, worried all over her face. âAre you okay?â
âIâm⊠fineâŠâ Your coughs cease down after a few seconds, and you look back at Trevor. âYouâve been saying the most ridiculous things today, you know that?â
He slightly gets closer to you so he can whisper. âTold you Iâd make you laugh.â
You feel your cheeks get warm and you avert your eyes, going back to eat your meal.
âWell, that looks delicious.â You look up to see that itâs Chidi pointing at Real Eleanorâs meal. âWhat is that?â
âOh, itâs⊠Tom Yum Goong soup. It reminds me of when I was in Thailand rescuing victims of human trafficking.â
How many things has this woman done!?
âOh, that sounds so good!â Everyone gives Chidi a weird look. âI mean, the soup, not the⊠Human trafficking.â
âOh, and I think your grilled eggplants look so good.â
Chidi squints his eyes. âShould weâŠâ
âSplitsies?â They both high five and laugh, making you and Eleanor give them a non-believable look while Trevor turns to your blond friend.
âI canât believe you thought you could pretend to be Real Eleanor. Sheâs like a perfect ball of light, and youâre like a⊠wet pile of mulch.â Eleanor looks back at Trevor, sadness covering her eyes. âSomeone made a person out of wet mulch and leaves and, like, dead slugs, and thatâs you.â
You take your friendâs hand in yours, squeezing it to give her comfort as you smile.
âI think youâre a beautiful person.â
She instantly smiles back at you.
âYouâre beautiful too, (Y/N).â
Trevor snorts. âPretty Smileâs only saying that to make you feel better. You know that, right?â
âWhatever!â Eleanor loses her smile and sends the demon a frustrated look. âItâs easy when youâre just born perfect. My parents were both dirtbags who split up when I was eight.â
âI donât mean to eavesdrop, but-â Real Eleanor tilts her head in thought. â-did you say your parents got a divorce?â
âYeah, and that kind of thing really changes a person. I mean⊠that traumaâŠâ Eleanor frowns, nodding at her own words. âIt can explain away a lot of behavior.â
âOh, of course!â
Blond Eleanor sighs with a small smile. âYour parents are still together, I guess.â
âOh, actually, um⊠Iâm not sure.â Real Eleanor smiles, going back to her memories. âI never met my birth parents. They put me in an empty fish tank and abandoned me at a train station in Bangladesh.â
Trevor groans in annoyance and turns to you.
âAnother boring backstory. Ugh, so annoying.â
You smirk. âYou mean like you?â
He pretends to be hurt by your words and you turn your attention back on Real Eleanor, the demon liking this bad side of you.
âLuckily, I was found and adopted by a very nice couple⊠the Shellstrop.â
Trevor continues to eat his dinner in boredom. âOh, thank god.â
âBut then they died when I was four.â You and Blond Eleanor share a shocked look. âBird flu.â
âThatâs awful!â Real Eleanor sends Chidi a small smile.
âAnyway, orphanage burn down, yadda yadda yadda⊠Made my way to America, yadda, yadda, yadda⊠Learned English from watching Seinfield, put myself through law school and⊠here I am!â
âHuh.â Trevor turns his head to Blond Eleanor. âAnd, Iâm sorry, what⊠what did you say that happened to you? The same thing that happens to half of the kids in America?â
The demon laughs at Eleanorâs thought process and she frees your hand from hers.
âAnd for you to have gone through all that, and to end up where you did, it is justâŠâ Chidi puts his hand on top of Real Eleanorâs, smiling. âItâs just amazing.â
âOh man, these horn-dogs are vibing like mofos.â Trevor turns to you and your blond friend, smirking. âAm I right, Fake Eleanor?â
âPlease stop calling me that!â You put your hand on her shoulder to calm her down.
âOh.â A glint passes through Trevorâs eyes. âYou got it, third wheel.â
âEasy, easy.â You stop Eleanor from jumping at the demon as he laughs, the blond looking back at you with anger.
âI swear, Iâm gonna snap his neck.â
âAnd Iâll help you bury the body later if you donât do it in public.â Your comment makes her snort, the woman already calming down.
âThanks, babe.â She takes your hand in hers again. âYouâre the best.â
âUgh, stoooop.â Trevor rolls his eyes at your exchange. âYou guys are not soulmates, stop acting like you are.â
Your cheeks burn again at the demonâs words, but Eleanor sends him a smirk.
âWhy do you care? Are you jealous?â
You give your friend some wide eyes, but Trevor laughs, taking another bite of his dinner.
âMe? A demon? Being jealous of humans?â He continues to giggle just when the server arrives with the wine. âYeah, that wine is no good. Iâm sending it back.â
You and Eleanor just shares a long look, not sure what to think about his reaction.
âSo, umâŠâ You guys turn your attention to Real Eleanor. âChidi tells me that heâs teaching you about ethics.â
âYeah!â Blond Eleanor looks at Chidi for a moment. âActually, weâve had some interesting and in-depth classes. He taught me about Plato and Socrates, Immanuel Kant-â
âYeah, cool, shut up.â Trevor points at Chidi. âLetâs cut to the chase here. You two go to Poundtown?â
Chidi frowns in confusion while you take another sip of your wine.
âPoundtown, bro. You two bang it out? She hot for teach?â You spit the wine right back in your glass, the others sighing in disbelief as Trevor turns to Eleanor. âDid you pork the dork? Câmon, girl, dish me dem dirty deets!â
âI assure you-â You notice that Chidiâs talking to Real Eleanor. â-our relationship was âteacher-student,â nothing more.â
âChidi, you donât have to explain anything to me.â Real Eleanor smiles, not bothered at all. âWhatever happened before I arrived is none of my business.â
âThen I guess you did it with Pretty Smile here.â Trevor smirks at you, but you simply roll your eyes and drink your wine again. âHuh? Is that what happened?â
Eleanor smirks back. âWouldnât you like to know, huh?â
You spit out your wine again, not believing what your friend just said.
âCan you guys let me drink my wine in peace?â
âHey.â Real Eleanor turns to Chidi. âIâd love to see the rest of the neighborhood.â
âUm, yes! Itâs incredible.â The man thinks for a second before he continues talking. âThereâs an amazing library, thereâs a beautiful, piranha-free lakeâŠâ
Real Eleanor chuckles. âWell, please, show me everything.â She turns to you and Eleanor. âYou guys are ready?â
Eleanor shrugs. âIâve seen it all already. You guys go ahead.â
âIâll stay with you.â You finally take a proper sip of your wine. âI donât feel like walking around.â
âYou guys rather be aloneâŠâ Real Eleanor turns her head to Trevor. â⊠with him?â
âFire in the hole.â You notice that his barefoot is on the table, the demon now cutting his toenails. âWatch your heads, ladies. My dudes tend to boomerang around the room.â
âMeh.â You continue to drink your wine, not even phased by what the demonâs doing anymore. âHeâs not that bad.â
Trevor slightly looks up from his feet to look at you for a moment, the wine already making your cheeks red as your words echos in his head.
Why does he think you look cute right now?
âYeah, and I meanâŠâ Blond Eleanor tries to find an excuse to not go with Chidi and Real Eleanor. âI donât need to walk around and nerd about old books. Iâm good.â
Chidi nods a couple of times then looks back at Real Eleanor. âOkay⊠letâs go then!â
Both of them get up from their seats and leave the restaurant, leaving you and your blond friend with the still attractive demon. Eleanor sighs at him, before she looks back at you, a serious expression on her face.
âWanna do shots?â
â°â°â°â°â°â
You feel like youâre about to die of laughter, your drunk mind somehow liking to hear about Trevorâs torture stories while Eleanor is plain dead on the counter. The demon puts his hand on your shoulder as he continues to talk, loving to see you laugh so much. Thatâs when the barman gives you all a new set of shots, Trevor taking one in his hand to drink it while he laughs.
âI lighted him on fire and he never spoke again!â
You try to stop yourself from laughing so hard, now putting your hand on his shoulder and pointing at him.
âYou know what you should do?â You take a breath to try and calm down. âYou should make a bunch of people that look like the ones he loved and admired, and then make them tell him that all his insecurities are true!â
âThatâs such a great idea!â He smiles wildly, tilting his head at you in wonder.
âYou know-â Eleanor suddenly perks her head up, expressing her thoughts and making you turn back at her. â-Maybe Iâm not as great as the Real Eleanor, but Iâm better than I used to be! Iâm medium good!â
âOh, yes, you are, gorgeous!â You put your arms around her shoulders, hugging her close. âIâm so proud of you.â
Eleanor blushes from your embrace.
âThanks, babe.â She puts her head against yours, enjoying your hug for a few seconds before she sends Trevor a look. âWhy havenât you forkers invented a medium place?â
The demon rolls his eyes while he drinks his shot, putting his cup down on the counter.
âLook, I know youâve been trying to become a âbetter personâ- I mean you didnât want to get caught. I get it.â
Seeing that you and Eleanor arenât really listening to him, he takes your arms and forces you stop hugging her, ignoring your complaint noises as you take two other shots.
âBut, I read your fileâŠâ He points at Eleanor, the blond glaring at him. âYou donât belong here! I mean she spent her weekends breaking up dog fighting rings! You once saw a meter maid writing you a ticket and you barked like a dog till she ran away!â
âWaitâŠâ You turn to Eleanor, drunk clouds still in your head. â⊠really?â
She averts her eyes in embarrassment. â⊠yeah.â
âThat is such a great idea!â She gives you a shocked look, noticing that youâre going back to your thoughts. âShould have done that at school! Man, why didnât I think of that?â
âYeah, yeah, hot stuff.â Trevor dismisses your words, handing you another shot. âJust drink this.â
You donât even have the motivation to tell him that youâre not that drunk.
âI mean, honestly, youâll be happier in The Bad Place.â Trevor seems to remember something. âI mean, donât get me wrong, youâll be miserable. We will torture you, but youâll also be happier⊠because.. you wonât have to keep trying to fit in somewhere you just donât belong!â
Eleanor exhales for a long time and notices your drunk state.
âAll right!â She drinks another shot, preparing herself to stand up right after. âLetâs go, (Y/N).â
âOkay, hold on, I have to askâŠâ Trevor stops her from standing, giving her a long stare. âIs this gonna happen? You, me and Pretty Smile?â
âWhut?â You blink a couple of times, not sure to have heard that right.
âEw!â Eleanor makes a disgusted face. âNo, gross!â
âOkay, you know I had to ask, babe!â
âOkay, (Y/N).â Eleanor takes your arm in her hands and tries to drag you away. âStand up, Iâm taking you home.â
âNoooooo-â You resist her, grabbing the counter to stop her from taking you away. âI wanna stay here and listen to more torture stories!â
Trevor grins when the blond groans in annoyance at your behavior, but his smirk grows when she looks at him and points a finger accusingly.
âIf you take advantage of her-â
âDonât worry, sweetheart.â He tilts his head, stopping himself from laughing maniacally. âIâll be a real gentleman.â
She just keeps staring at him, not believing him⊠cause heâs a demon, for fork sake!
âI swear, babe! If I even try something-â He points at everyone else in the room. â-one of these doofi will stop me.â
â⊠alright, fine.â She takes your head in her hands, making you look at her in the eyes. â(Y/N). If something happens, you go straight to my house, okay?â
âUnderstood, Elâ.â You give her a thumbs up. âI will not let you down.â
Sheâs not quite sure you understood her, but she walks away nonetheless⊠Well, she actually tells a few other residents to watch over you or else sheâll personally attack them⊠but still.
âSo, Pretty Smile-â You turn your head at Trevor, noticing that heâs getting a normal drink this time. âHow is it that you donât have a soulmate?â
Luckily for you, the alcohol in your veins stops you from feeling hurt by the question, and you instead smile at him.
âEveryone tells me that itâs because Iâm so awesome that I donât need another half.â You shake your head, showing that youâre not believing that. âBut I think itâs because⊠Iâm broken!â
Itâs Trevorâs turn to spit out his drink, not believing how you can say that with such happiness and excitement.
âExcuse me, what?â He points at you, blinking fast as he thinks. âAre you happy that youâre broken?â
âOh, obviously not.â Your smile doesnât go away from your lips while you steal his drink, continuing your explanation. âBut Iâve accepted the fact that I wasnât worthy of any love when I was eight, so this isnât news to me.â
You take a sip of his whiskey, exhaling in pain from the harshness before you put it back on the counter.
âWell, well⊠you would have been such an easy challenge.â You watch him finish his whiskey. âI would have just put you alone in a room and you would have torture yourself.â
You giggle. âYeah, that sounds like me.â
He tilts his head at you, watching the blackness in your aura trying to destroy the splash of colors. Itâs fascinating how your own soul is constantly torturing itself without having anyone interfere. He wonders what youâre thinking right now⊠and since when youâve been thinking those things.
You notice how heâs staring at you.
âAre you looking at my soul or something?â You grin, nudging his side. âOr are you thinking that Iâm pretty?â
Your words take him off guard, the demon chuckling to defend himself.
âWhy in the world would I think that, Pretty Smile?â
He takes one of the shots that are still standing on the counter, wondering why your grin is growing.
âYou like me!â
He spits it out immediately.
âW-what?â He doesnât like how your eyes light up. âNo, I donât!â
âAwwwn, you do! You really do like me!â
âI donât!â
âYou like me! You like me! You like-â
âShhh!â He puts his hand on your mouth to stop you from screaming the words, not wanting his coworkers to hear you. âShut up!â
He sees you trying to suppress a giggle, the demon taking his hand away from your face as he groans in annoyance.
âYouâre a disgusting human and Iâm an amazing demon. I. Donât. Like. You. Do I need to say more?â
âThen why do you keep calling me âPretty Smileâ, huh?â He sends you a mean look, the man about to answer you when you continue talking. âYou keep calling everyone else with mean names, but me? Itâs always Pretty Smile. Oh! And why have you kept trying to get my attention all day? And why every time Eleanor gives me comfort, you try to get in the way? And why-â
âOh my god, will you just shut up? I said I donât like you!â
âBut you like me!â
âIf you continue saying this, Iâm not telling you another torture story.â
âHuh-huh. Sure.â You point at him, your grin still present on your lips. âYouâre just in denial. I know you like me.â
âAlright!â He takes a sip of another drink. âNo more stories!â
âWhat? Nooo!â He feels you hug his arm, whining as you put your head on his shoulder. âIâm sorry! Tell me how you torture people!â
âNo.â
âPlease, please, please, please, please!â
âNo!â
You hug his arm closer and he looks at you, your red puffy cheeks and your puppy eyes looking up at him and making him feel flustered.
âTrevooooorâŠ. pretty please?â
He groans. âPromise you wonât say that I like you again?â
You free him, mimicking shutting your mouth as you smile wildly. He just rolls his eyes at your behavior, not able to stop his own grin.
âOkay. Hereâs how I tortured this guy last week.â
â°â°â°â°â°â
âHey. Wake up, sleepy head.â
You feel someone flick your forehead, making you blink a couple of times as you wake up. You open your eyes right after but instantly shut them and groan when the headache arrives, putting your hands on your face to help ease the pain.
âFork that hurts!â
You hear a familiar chuckle, moving your fingers enough to see Trevor looking down at you with a smirk, also noticing that youâre sitting on your couch.
âWe like hangovers, so we asked for the filter to be removed.â His grin stretches out as you somehow sit up, the demon having to stop you from falling unto the floor. âWhat do you think youâre doing?â
âTrying to get some water.â You groan again, looking back at him in confusion. âWhat are you doing in my house?â
He chuckles. âYou donât remember?â
You quirk an eyebrow. âIf youâre trying to imply that we had sex, I donât believe you, cause I think I would be sore in certain places if I had sex with a demon.â
He snaps his fingers. âDammit, youâre too clever.â
You just stare at him, waiting for him to explain to you why heâs standing in the middle of your living room. He sighs under your stare, rolling his eyes in annoyance.
âYou were too drunk to walk last night, so I took you back to your house. There, happy?â
â⊠You took care of me?â You grin when he sends you a hard look, pointing at you accusingly.
âDonât say it.â
âOh, I wonât.â You manage to stand up, walking towards your kitchen to take a glass of water. âIâll just wait for you to get out of your denial state.â
âOkay, Pretty Smile, get down of your horse a little.â You donât seem to be phased by the anger in his voice, only starting to drink your water. âYouâre not that special, okay? Youâre a simple disgusting human, and thatâs all.â
âHuh-huh.â
He groans, then he points at you. âMeeting at Tahaniâs in an hour for a negotiation session. Donât be late!â
And just like that, he leaves your small cozy home, grumbling under his breath while you just grin like a maniac.
â°â°â°â°â°â
âAll right, letâs begin negotiations.â Michael keeps looking between Eleanor and Trevor, the blond instantly taking your hand in hers for comfort. âNow, we would like to discuss various trades that we could-â
âOh, yeah-â Trevor shakes his head. â-weâre not negotiating. See, Fake Eleanor and I, we bro-ed down pretty hard last night⊠we hooked up.â
âNo, we didnât!â
âYeah, but who are they going to believe? Me or a⊠woman?â Trevor laughs, the other demons soon laughing to while you quirk an eyebrow.
âWell, you, since you just agreed that you didnât hook up.â
Trevor loses his smile and glares at you, not liking that youâre grinning at him nor the fact that youâre still holding hands with Fake Eleanor.
âPoint is!â Trevor looks back at Michael, more than annoyed now. âShe knows that she doesnât belong here, and sheâs giving up.â
You turn your head at your blond friend, not believing what Trevor is saying.
âIs this true, Fake Eleanor?â Michael seems like heâs been backstabbed. âAre you giving up?â
âYeah, of course, she is. She knows this place isnât for her.â Trevor stands up, waiting for the blond to imitate him. âLetâs go, ding-dong! You have to say goodbye to Pretty Smile now. Come on.â
She shares a long look with you, the woman noticing the sadness in your eyes. She suddenly feels determination inside her, and she turns back to Trevor with a strong decision.
âNo. Iâm not leaving.â
âOh, come on, sweetheart. Weâve been through this. You know you donât belong here.â
âYouâre right! I donât!â Eleanor frees your hand and stands up, a grin coming to her lips. âBut I want to. I used to never want to be a part of any group, but Iâm a different person now because of the people who helped me, and I wanna be like them! I wanna be like all the people who are here!â
âYou can, Eleanor!â
You friendâs smile turns into a genuine one. âThanks, Real Eleanor!â
âHey, if you two arenât gonna make out, just shut up.â Trevor shakes his head, his eyes turning to you as an idea pop into his head. âLook, if you donât come with us, weâre taking Pretty Smile here!â
You give him a shocked look. âWhat?â
âTrevor.â Michael moves his hand in the air a little, trying to find words. â(Y/N) is a good person, you canât take her.â
âOh yeah? Well if you donât give us someone, weâre gonna have to turn this matter to Shawn.â
âOh! Oh, no!â Michael starts to panic but tries to suppress it. âShawn, really?â
You frown, confused. âWhoâs Shawn?â
âHeâs the wise, eternal Judge who sits on high,-â Michael takes a small pause. â-and has the final say on all disputes between our two realms.â
âAnd his name isâŠâ Tahani frowns. â⊠Shawn?â
âOkay, look-â Trevor talks with a serious voice, letting away his evil goofy self. â-I donât want Shawn involved either. So, how about you blow us away with an offer, like giving us Pretty Smile, so we can end this?â
âI have a name, you know?â
âPretty Smile suits you better.â
You glare at him, but he only grins at you.
âOkay⊠hereâs my offer.â You see Michael stand up, suddenly afraid that he might let you go with the demons to replace your best friendâs place. âYou get nothing!â
You scared expression turns into a huge smile, Trevor frowning in surprise at the angel.
âWeâre not letting Fake Eleanor or (Y/N) go with you, weâre not giving you anything!â
Tahani points at the eternal being with excitement. âGet âem, Michael!â
âYou can summon every evil creature you have, every weapon in your arsenal, every four-headed flying bear!â Michael turns to you and your friends. âThey have them down there.â
He looks back at Trevor, ignoring the smug coming back on the demonâs lips.
âBut we are not giving up! I believe that Eleanor belongs in The Good Place! If Iâm wrong, you can take her to The Bad Place and punish her all you want, just really go to town on her!â
âGah, gah, gah!â Eleanor puts her hand on Michaelâs shoulder, smiling awkwardly. âEasy, buddy, easy.â
âBut sheâs staying here⊠and so is (Y/N)! Now-â He looks at all the demons around the room. â-all of you⊠get the fork out of my neighborhood.â
Trevor stays silence for a few seconds, sharing a long look with Michael, then he angrily chuckles as he turns to Eleanor.
âYouâre on borrowed time, Fake Eleanor.â He smirks when he sees her take your hand in hers. âEnjoy it while it lasts.â
He then looks at you in the eyes, a strange glint appearing in them.
âGoodbye, Pretty Smile. Iâll see you soon.â
You donât know what he means by that.
âLetâs roll, dummies! Letâs take one drink for the road.â
Once all the demons leave Tahaniâs place, you all sigh in relief, Eleanor and Michael sitting back down.
âBravo, Michael!â Tahani applauds the eternal being with a bright smile. âBravo!â
â°â°â°â°â°â
A lot of things happened since your last encounter with Trevor.
First, Eleanor came to you to confess her feelings, taking you completely off guard. You actually froze and stared at the wall for a very long time, making her panic (she thought she broke you). Eventually, you got out of your mental state and said you loved her back.
You guys were happy for a short while until Eleanor noticed that she could never earn enough points by staying here, and she left without you to Mindy St. Claireâs place. But you didnât let the voices in your head win, and you fight with Michael and your friends to prove to Shawn that your girlfriend deserved to stay here (along with Jason, since Michael has discovered about him by mistake). That was before the judge said that, because you and Chidi helped Eleanor and did bad things, you were going to replace her and Jason in The Bad Place. You were having a panic attack when your two lost friends and Janet came back to save you.
You remember sharing a passionate kiss with Eleanor, crying a lot in her arms when Shawn said you still had to choose two people to go to The Bad Place. Everyone was arguing, the voices in your head getting worse until Eleanor realized that you guys were actually in The Bad Place.
Everything made sense. This was the reason why the voices were still here.
Then, Michael said that he was going to reboot you and make some changes to stop you all from getting better, and you have to thank the universe for letting Eleanor write a note and hide it inside Janetâs mouth in time⊠but here you are now, your mind wiped clean as youâre sitting unconscious in a random room with your friends, waiting for Michael to wake you up one by one for the second try.
â°â°â°â°â°â
Michael is currently sitting in his office, going over some details while he waits for Janet to regain her knowledge after he killed her. Thatâs when Trevor walks in without even knocking, taking the eternal being by surprise.
âTrevor? What are you doing-â
âI heard you were making changes for this version, right?â The demon smirk, putting his hands on the desk. âWell, I just got an idea for you.â
Michael smirks back, waiting for his coworker to talk.
â°â°â°â°â°â
âSoâŠâ You walk around the neighborhood with Michael, frowning in confusion at what he just said to you. âYouâre saying that⊠soulmates⊠are real?â
âThey sure are!â
âAndâŠâ You stop talking for a moment, shaking your head to clear the voices. â⊠you say that I have one?â
âWell, of course.â Michael puts his hand on your back, leading you towards a pizza place. âEveryone has one, (Y/N). Even little old you.â
âOh.. thatâs⊠thatâs nice.â You smile sweetly, not quite believing that someone could be a perfect match for you and be universe approve.
âHere, let me introduce you.â You try to kick away the anxiety as the eternal being makes you stand beside a random table. âTrevor, I would like you to meet (Y/N), your soulmate.â
Your eyes go wide at the sight of the man before you. He is hot, you think, totally sucked in by his brown eyes and his forking attractive smile. You watch him stand up in pure silence, feeling your eyes go wide as he extends his hand towards you.
âSo nice to meet you, (Y/N).â You somehow manage to shake his hand, hypnotize by his voice. âI must say, youâre prettier than I thought.â
Your cheeks suddenly get warm and you avert your eyes, the voices trying to dismiss the compliment.
âOh, um⊠thanks.â You smile sweetly, not really knowing what to say. âYouâre not so bad yourself.â
He points at you, a grin settling on his lips. âYou have a pretty smile.â
You snort. âYouâre probably the only one who thinks so.â
âWell!â You jump up when Michael claps his hand together, surprising you. âYou two seem to go along well, so Iâll leave you to it. Trevor, I assume that youâll show her where youâll live?â
âWait-â Your eyes open wide and you turn back at the angel. â-weâre gonna live together? Like⊠right away?â
âOf course!â Michael laughs, doing a movement in the air with his hand. âYou guys are soulmates! Thereâs no need for the long and awkward âgetting to know each otherâ thing. You already perfect for each other!â
You awkwardly laugh, starting to play with your hands.
âI⊠guess youâre⊠right.â
Yeah, no⊠youâre really not comfortable with that.
âCome on, itâll be fun.â Trevor puts his arm around your shoulders and you tense up, the man slightly hugging you while doing so. âBesides, Iâd like to see more of that pretty smile.â
He pinches your cheek, making you recoil.
âJust trust me, (Y/N).â Michael smiles. âIâm the one who knows whatâs best for you.â
You stay silent for a few seconds, then sighs.
âAlright⊠if you say soâŠâ

Human In The Museum
Authorâs Note: So, this could count as a follow-up for my two parts A Hell Of A Good Place imagines, but it can also be an imagine of its own. So take it like you want it! :) Iâm sorry that itâs so short though.
Pairing: Trevor x Reader;
Warning: Spoilers for season 1 and 2.
Word Count: 445 words.
Summary: Imagine Trevor seeing you at The Bad Placeâs party back in their quarters.
Trevor canât quite believe that youâre here. Youâre here, alive and well. Youâre actually right over there, joking with some of his coworkers while drinking a drink or two. Your hairâs styled in a way heâs never seen you do before and he quite likes, but he what he really likes is the black dress that is showing your curves and your glowing skin. Youâre just beyond gorgeous, and he canât help but stare at you from his place.
How in the world can you be here? How can you joke around and laugh when anyone can recognize you and send you to a forever torture room? How are you not completely terrified right now?
He has been staring at you for a long time when you finally turn your gaze to him, and he canât help but smile at you for two reasons.
Reason one: your (e/c) eyes are still full of life with a hint of darkness in them, and he didnât realize until now about how much he had miss your eyes.
Reason two: you recognized him and your body slightly shift, which was his cue to walk right over to you.
His smile stretches out when a genuine one settles on your lips, your eyes not looking away from his even though one of the demons is still talking to you. Trevor steps in front of his coworker, ignoring the scoff and the insult thrown at his back while he does so. He doesnât wait for another second to wrap his arms around your back, his lips grabbing yours in an instant, and he canât help but grin when he hears your glass breaking on the floor and feels your own arms around his neck. The demons you were just talking to roll their eyes at the scene before they leave to another spot, Trevor then letting you breathe for a small moment.
âGod, I missed you.â
âI missed you too.â Youâre the one who kisses him this time, and he loves how forward you are even though you know who he really is. âLiving in The Fake Good Place wasnât the same without you.â
âSo you didnât leave the place at all.â
You shake your head, grinning like a maniac.
âHiding under the train was completely terrifying.â
He chuckles and kisses your forehead, watching your eyes close down for a moment before the gorgeous (e/c) color comes back.
âWhy are you here?â
You give out a small smile. âDoes it matter?â
It doesnât. Not right now.
So Trevor keeps you close to him all night and kisses your face over and over, not wanting to see you disappear from his grasp again.

A Hell Of A Good Place (2/2)
Authorâs Note: Second part of the Trevor imagine. Less long than the first part, but I hope you guys like it!
Pairing: Trevor x Reader; slight!Eleanor x Reader
Warning: Spoilers for season 1 and 2.
Word Count:Â 3584 words.
Summary: The story of how a demon named Trevor falls in love with you and tries to keep it a secret.
Part One - This is Part Two
Edit found here.
Trevor doesnât understand why heâs been so obsessed with you.
First, youâre a human. A filthy disgusting human who ended up in The Bad Place, so itâs pretty clear to him that youâre a shitty person in disguise. Second, he has been working with other demons since the beginning of time, and he has not met anyone as annoying as you. The whole time he was by your side in the first version of The Good Place, you kept smiling and laughing at his comments, listening to him when he told you torture stories and always nagging him about the fact that he might like you.
So. Annoying.
But yet, the whole time he was there, he thought about you constantly, your pretty smile shaking his cord every time you gave it to him. So of course, when Michael âkicked him outâ, the first thing he did was to steal your file and study it over and over and over and over and over-
Until the moment he knew every single thing about you; from the day you were born to the day you died. All the good and bad things you did, all the smiles, the laughs, the cries, the depression⊠Itâs simple: if there was a test about your life, he would fucking ace it and even get a better score than you.
But somehow, even after reading absolutely every single detail about you, your pretty smile kept hunting him and he fucking hated it. He couldnât understand why you were still in his head; you, a disgusting human. Not even torturing his favorite subjects kept you away from his mind. Gosh, why couldnât you just go away? Thatâs when he realized that reading about you wasnât the same as spending time with you and that, in order to destroy that obsession once and for all, he needed to see you again.
So when he heard about Michaelâs project getting another chance, he convinced him to let him have a better role.
It was fucking perfect. He got to be your soulmate, which meant that he could, one, get to know you in person, second, torture you (which is always fun), and three, if Eleanor somehow fell in love with you again, he could also torture her just by being with you.
Nothing could express how proud of himself he was, his arm linked with yours when you both walked around the welcoming party the first day. The only thing bothering him was the fact that you were silent, tensed and distant. Where was the human who smiled at his words, teased him and didnât stop herself to insult him when she was annoyed? Were you acting like that because he was now a mere human soulmate to you instead of a demon coming to take your friend away? That didnât make sense. Why would you be friendly to a dangerous demon, but excessively cold towards your own soulmate? Was your brain even working right?
You werenât normal, thatâs for sure, and knowing that somehow increased Trevorâs obsession on you.
He perfectly remembers the moment where Tahani caused a fire in a drunk state (which wasnât supposed to happen according to Michael). But he mostly remembers how the flames captivated your attention, giving him an opportunity to make you talk to him openly⊠which he gladly took.
âYou like the fire, Pretty Smile?â
You had jumped up at his voice, turning your head to him with a pang of guilt in your eyes.
â⊠is it bad to say that I find it pretty?â
He couldnât help the grin forming on his lips when he heard that.
âYou do like fire, huh...â Thatâs a thing that wasnât written in your file, along with your passion for torture stories. Has the system didnât gathered the right information about you, or did you just suppressed everything for a long time?
Back then, he didnât know that it was both.
âOh god, itâs bad, isnât it?â You had panic and freed your arm from his, shaking your head. âIâm sorry, I need to go.â
And he let you leave pretty easily since he didnât really care⊠but if he had known that Michael would have yelled at him and his coworkers for losing sight of you and the other humans and that you somehow met Eleanor and Chidi on your way out, he wouldnât even have let you out of his grip.
Because, believe it or not, Eleanor had the time to write a note with âFind Chidi and (Y/N)â on it in the first version, and she also had the time to hide it inside Janetâs mouth. You then met Chidi and Eleanor after the fire incident, and when your pathetic human friends learned who you were, they showed you the note and convinced you to go at Eleanorâs place to discuss it in secret.
He hated it how you looked at him when you learned that he and everyone else were demons. You see, you werenât looking at him in hatred, in disappointment, in sadness or even like you were feeling betrayed. No, you see⊠you looked at him like you were expecting it, not even bothered by it. It was like you learned an ordinary fact and your mind had immediately toss it in a not important corner.
And thatâs what he absolutely hated. He hated getting no reaction from you.
So now he didnât just want to know more about you: he wanted to get as much reaction out of you as possible... and that meant being the absolute fucking perfect boyfriend and best friend to you (and then crush you with the truth when the time will come). So he was glad when Michael reset the whole thing again, even if it was without Shawnâs approval (heck, he didnât care about that part. He lives to break rules as long as he has fun).
But no matter what he did in the next couple of tries (yes, tries. Michael kept fucking everything up somehow), you were still acting distant and awkward towards him. It was weird watching you force a smile every time heâd say or do something nice. It was like you were seeing kindness as a form of hidden violence. But, when enough time passed in certain timelines, you would slowly open up and let him in, cracking a few jokes and not tensing up every time he would talk.
Those moments were great, cause it meant that he could start to really know you, but freaking Eleanor kept learning that she was in The Bad Place and they had to restart before he had the chance to do so. Also, Michael kept asking him about finding a faster way to get you to open up, which was a real puzzle that no one knew how to solve (except for the others humans⊠Ugh! How do they do that so easily?)
Anyway, he thought that maybe he wasnât sweet enough for your taste. I mean, he was already extremely nice to you, but maybe you needed some super extra effort or something. He wanted to gag at that. Why do humans need so much kindness and support? These were such disgusting acts that he really didnât want to do, but he did them anyway.
And it didnât work. It really didnât work.
You were acting even colder and more distant, at the point where you were rolling your eyes at him, sighing constantly and sometimes just plain out leaving when he was talking and not looking directly at you. He had to contain himself to not strangle you. You were talking to a demon, honey. Maybe you should rethink before doing those things?
Of course, you had no idea who he really was, so he couldnât really punish you like he would have wanted⊠But what was wrong with you? Couldnât you see how much effort he was putting into this fake relationship? The fuck was he supposed to do to make you like him?!
He hated that you would go to Eleanor for love; always laughing at her jokes, comforting her, helping her⊠He just wanted to snap her neck right in front of you every time you went to see her, but he contained himself. He always contained himself.
He just needed to be more patient with you, right?
Well, he couldnât stay patient, so one day, he just snapped.
And you dismissed his anger by looking away in guilt when he confronted you about âseeing someone elseâ even though you already had a soulmate (and he did that despite Michael telling him that he shouldnât do it yet⊠but he didnât care anymore). He didnât like that you were so quiet, so he kept asking you why he wasnât enough for you, basically screaming at you some dumb cliches things humans say when they know theyâve been cheated on. But you just kept apologizing without even answering his questions, your body getting tenser the more he argued with you.
âFor fork sake, (Y/N)! Just answer me something!â
âYouâre too forking nice, okay?!â He shut up when you snapped back, your whole face red from the frustration. âNice is awkward, suffocating and not at all attractive! I need someone who can be sarcastic! Someone who can joke about death and torture! Someone who can discuss potential murder scenarios with me! Someone who can act and think evil even if itâs just for one forking moment! But youâre not evil at all! Youâre nice! My soulmate is a nice guy and I forking hate it!â
.
.
.
âThere! Now you know why I donât love you. Are you happy now?â
He just smirked at you back then, loving to know that you were actually attracted to his original self.
And he loved it when your cheeks turned red under his stare.
âSo you like evil guys, huh?â He had licked his bottom lip in wonder, analyzing this new information about you in his head.
âW-what?â Your eyes had gone wide when he said that, not expecting this kind of reaction.
âInteresting.â He had put his face close to yours, observing your blushing mess. âVery interesting.â
A huge feeling of satisfaction had washed over him when he saw your soul squish in upper attraction, his words and his actions now fully having the influence he wanted to have on you in the first.
âI wonder how many more things arenât written in your file...â
âFile?â You had tilted your head in confusion. âWhy would you have access to my file- Oh my god!â
He lost his smirk when you stepped back from him, a scared expression on your file.
âYouâre not human, arenât you? You wouldnât have access to my file if you were one⊠and if we were in The Good Place, you wouldnât have to hide it.. so this must be The Bad-â
Letâs just say that he was the one to force the reboot this time.
He still remembers Michael screaming at him for hours. How dare he screwed things up when it was perfect for once? Pff, âperfectâ. In what world, Michael, huh?
But it didnât matter. Trevor didnât care what Michael said anymore, cause he knew how to seduce you now: being himself⊠pretty ironic, donât you think?
So, just to be sure he wouldnât look like a complete asshole who clearly didnât deserve to be in The Good Place, he started small. You know, a few sarcastic comments here and there⊠a small conversation about torture methods in the Middle Ages (which he actually studied to redo them on some subjects, but he was impressed by how strong your own knowledge about it was)⊠and his proudest accomplishment: the way he subtly showed you how much he hated Eleanor, which pushed you to stop trying to be friends with her in each reset that went forward.
He couldnât believe that it was working. You were opening up to him! Smiling at him, joking back and even engaging fully on conversations with him! He couldnât help but smile every time youâd laugh at one of his dark jokes, or admire the murder scenarios you thought in your head. You had a whole dark side of you that was fascinated by the sins of the human world, yet you were too sweet and kind to ever do something bad to someone elseâŠ
You were a paradox that was constantly torturing itself just by existing, and he couldnât quite understand how you could exist himself. He thought you were the perfect combination of pure and evil, thrown out in the human world without any notice then send to The Bad Place to be tortured for eternity. He thought people were wasting your true potential: a human who knew how to physically and psychologically torture anyone, but who also knew how to help anyone grow and be a better person.
You were just⊠a miracle. In his eyes, at least.
He was surprised when you kissed him first, not only because you were the one who engaged it, but also because he noticed that⊠despite the fact that he, one, was kissing (which is gross, by the way. Mouths werenât built for that), and second, was kissing a human (double gross)⊠he didnât hate it as much as he thought he would... He quite enjoyed it, actually: your mouth moving with his, his arms around your waist, your fingers in his hair...
Letâs be honest, he just fucking loved it.
So he then took every opportunity he had to get his hands on you, his lips always kissing a part of you (your hands, your lips, your neck- anything). He also started full-on make-out sessions in public, especially if it was in front of the other humans. Gosh, he loved how uncomfortable they were when he did it, particularly Eleanor and her hurtful sad expressions. So precious.
And he loved how you would giggle and smile under his attention. He never thought he would think that about a human, but you were so cute and adorable all the time, even when you were describing a gruesome murder you once read in an article.
He didnât want to have sex with you, though. Taking that kind of trust from you when he wasnât fully in an honest position somehow felt⊠wrong. Which was also some absolute bullshit he didnât understand. If he was the fake soulmate of any other humans, he would have fucked them without even thinking about it. So why the hell couldnât he just do that with you too? Was something wrong with him now? Did your messed up brain mess up with his brain?
But the frustration always disappeared every time heâd look at you, always vibrant around him, a soul full of beautiful colors with pitches of gray and black. You were a beautiful painting he could just stare at for hours⊠so pretty, so kind, so dark, so alive.
One day, though⊠things went too far.
He still doesnât know what had gotten to him that day. You were just having a nice day with him and your human friends, Chidi and Eleanor. You called it a double date if he remembers correctly. You were clearly having fun with them, but he wasnât. They were cockroaches trying to steal you away, and he didnât understand why he had to hang out with them. He was pretty tensed the whole time, saying a lot of mean sarcastic comments about Eleanor specifically, and when she had the nerve to replace a strand of your hair behind your ear, he just-
It was the worst blood bath he ever created, and the way you screamed at what he did, absolutely horrified, it made him feel like his own soul was sheared.
If he didnât threaten to tell everything to Shawn, Michael would have fired him that day. But he didnât, the threat of getting forced to retire too important, and so Trevor got a lot of other chances to be sure he wouldnât⊠snap like that again. Instead, he made sure you were always safe, from him and any of his coworkers, and his kisses were more long and sweet (though he would still do the rough ones because it was in his nature and he knew you loved them).
And everyone started to act differently around him, too. He kept catching his coworkers giving him the stink eye from afar, avoiding you every time youâd be with him⊠Hell, even Michael had started to look at him differently since the incident, like he knew something Trevor didnât.
âAre you sure youâre not⊠getting too close to (Y/N)?â
Michaelâs question had taken Trevor by surprise back then, the demon having frowned in confusion.
âThe fuck are you talking about?â
The eternal being had then moved on to another topic, ignoring Trevorâs question, but the question still made the demon question himself. Was he getting too close to you? Nah, thatâs impossible. You were still a filthy human, and he was an evil eternal being. He just wanted you to stay his and his only⊠nothing to worry about, right?
The last reset⊠felt like someone was stealing you away from him. You were acting friendly and loving with him, just like you would have been in the other reset⊠but you were looking at him differently and you were becoming more distant as the days went by. You disappeared a lot of times in the week, and he wouldnât know where you went or with who you were. One day he asked Michael about it, and he said that you were just taking personal walks around the neighborhood. The answer calmed him down for a while, but he eventually stressed about it again. Why were you taking so much of lonely walks in this reset when you didnât use to do that before?
Then, Shawn came back, still unaware of all the resets, and he decided that it was time to end the project.
When you learned about how he was a demon the whole time, he saw you act surprised, but your eyes were saying that you already knew. That shocked him in such a way, he just didnât know how to react himself. Did Michael forget about erasing your memory before the last reset? Did you act like you didnât know what was going on so the torture wouldnât get worse?
He didnât have a chance to ask you about it in private, cause you and the other humans had become little toys to display in front of the coworkers. The roast wasnât as fun as he would normally enjoy, and he absolutely hated the whole party his coworkers were and are still throwing right now. All he could think about was how much physical torture youâll have to get through for the rest of eternity, and how much he wouldnât be able to survive that.
So, when everyone had their back turned, he took you by the arm and forced you to follow him in a quiet corner, where he proceeded to try to convince you to run away to Mindy St-Claireâs. He didnât care if he was going to be forced into retirement, he just wanted you to be safe.
But here you two are now, you looking at him in silence right after you asked him why heâs helping you, his messed up brain almost blowing up while he tries to find the answer he himself doesnât really know.
Cause Trevor doesnât know why heâs helping you right now, just like he doesnât know why he has been obsessed with you in the first place, nor why he has grown so attached to you. He doesnât know why you seem so perfect in his eyes, why he wants to kiss you all the time or why he wants to rip off Eleanorâs head every time she would simply just talks to you. He doesnât know why you manage to make him feel important, and he doesnât know why he wants to protect you from everything. He doesnât know why heâs not being the worst being in the universe with you, nor why he doesnât want you to see him as the worst being in the universe to you. He doesnât-He doesnât-
Fuck.
Heâs in love with you.
Heâs fucking in love with you.
Fuck!
When he comes back to his senses, youâre already gone (probably one of his coworkers forcing you back to the party). Itâs pretty ironic how you seem to disappear just when he realizes his feelings for you. What is this, some kind of clichĂ© soap opera?
Despite his efforts, Trevorâs unable to find you for the rest of the evening, nor for the whole the night, or even the morning after. He panics the whole time: what if one of his coworkers has done something to you? Are you agonizing somewhere?
Thatâs until he learns from Shawn and Michael that you, the other humans and Janet have escaped to Mindy St-Claireâs, the news making his entire soul sigh in relief. Though he acts like itâs a horrible situation that needs to be solved fast, and he goes on the train with a sarcastic grin that he sends to all his coworkers, thinking about you with a sinking heart.
Even though he aches to hold you in his arms, he hopes he never sees you againâŠÂ
Because that would mean youâll be doomed for eternity.

omg awesome! cause I was reading the other fics and thinking about how Trevor shows up again on Earth during the brainy bunch bit in s3 and how that would work with reader who's once again been memory wiped
A Hell Of A Good Place - Part Four (Links for Part One, Two and Three)
He found you once more, in the Bad Placeâs museum of all the places, and he couldnât even begin to explain the emotions of relief, happiness, and excitement that rushed through his chest the moment he held you in his arms. But then, you were gone... again. Jumped through the portal that led you and your friends directly to the judge, and he had to watch you leave with a heartache heâd never thought heâd feel again; hell, that heâd never thought heâd feel ever. But you had to go; it was your only chance at redemption, your only chance out of an eternal doom, and he could only hope that it would work.
You asked him to follow them, to beg the Judge to give him a redemption of some sort too, like Michael was hoping for. But he couldnât. Partly because he doesnât believe he deserves one, partly because he quite enjoys his job in hell, partly because the thought of begging anyone makes him want to puke. No, heâs good right where he is, and he agrees with his boss when it comes to what your friendsâ fate should be; he just... doesnât agree when it comes to you.
A year passed since the last time he saw you, a year that youâve been spending continuing your life on Earth, completely memory swiped. He spent that entire year stuck inside a cocoon, Shawn not wanting him to jeopardize his coworkersâ work in the slightest. As much as he likes to accuse his boss of being an idiot, Shawnâs decision might have been the brightest... âcause Trevor would definitely have messed up his coworkersâ work at any chance it would get. Anything if it meant you had all of your chances at a good afterlife.
He gives out a sigh, his hand boringly pushing an empty cup of coffee over as a way to distract himself. If there was a way for him to join you down on Earth, he would do it... even if he had to make you fall for him all over again.
âWill you stop sulking for one minute?â Shawnâs voice brings him back to reality, the superior demon sending him an annoyed look. âI can bring you back in the cocoon at any second.â
Trevor gives out a hard smile. âThen what are you waiting for?â
Shawn squints his eyes at him, his annoyance only increasing. âAs much as it tortures me to say so, I need you for something.â
Trevor rolls his eyes, laying his back further against the chair as he lay his legs on Shawnâs desk. âWhatever you want me to do, Iâm not doing it.â
âReally?â Shawn quirks an eyebrow, a hint of an idea in his eyes. âWhat if I say Iâd let you get something in return?â
Trevorâs ears perk up at those words, his eyes looking back at his boss with a certain interest in them. â... "Like what?â
âLike that human youâve stubbornly decided to love-ugh.â A shiver runs down Shawnâs spine, his head shaking. âI hate that word.â
âYouâd seriously let me have her?â Trevor ignores his bossâs antics, his body approaching the desk with a suspicious look on his face. âWhatâs the catch?â
âThereâs no catch, unfortunately.â Shawnâs face falters into a boring one, his body stiffening with each word that comes out of his mouth. âIf you get the five humans back in the Bad Place, (Y/N) is yours to torture for the rest of eternity... using whatever methods you wish to use.â
âHuh.â Trevorâs lips stretch into a wide grin, his eyes sparkling with an evil glint in them as he licks the inside of his cheek. âWhat do you need me for?â
Shawn gives out a satisfied grin as soon as he hears those words.

âSo, this is our MRI machine-â Simone stops in the middle of her sentence, her eyes widening when she sees Jason approaching his index finger to a particular button. âOh! Donât touch that. Um...â She gives out a smile when Jason easily listens to her, her eyes turning towards the other three subjects of her study. âEach of you will get a chance in here eventually. Hopefully, none of you is claustrophobic...?âÂ
She says those last words with an interrogation mark in her eyes, waiting for you and your friends to give her an answer. You open your mouth to answer, but Jason speaks up before you have a chance to.
âClaustrophobic? Why would anyone be scared of Santa Claus?â His eyes spark up with realization a few seconds later, an âohâ sound coming out of his mouth. âOooh...! The Jewish!â
Eleanor quirks an eyebrow at that answer, a light of recognition in her eyes as she approaches her face to his. âYou from Florida?â
Jason turns his head towards her with an impressed look, his lips stretched into a wide grin. âJacksonville!â
The blond woman gives out a proud grin. âYeah.â
âUm, that should be fine for me.â Tahani interrupts their convo to answer Simoneâs question, her lips stretched into a known smile. âItâs roughly the same size as Nicole Kidmanâs cryogenic anti-aging chamber, and Iâve never had a problem in there.â
âYeah, Iâll be okay, too.â Eleanor tries her best to shrug off Tahaniâs comment about her luxurious starâs life, her hands gently touching the MRI with a grin on her lips. âIt kinda reminds me of the home-tanning booth I lost my virginity in.â
You blink a few times upon hearing those words, having not expected to have that kind of image in your head so early in the morning.Â
âWhat about you, (Y/N)?â Simoneâs voice brings you back in reality, her head tilted at you with wonder. âAre you okay with going in the MRI?â
âOh! Yeah, totally.â You give out a nervous chuckle, feeling your cheeks flush with embarrassment as you unconsciously cross your arms over your chest. âI got no problem getting trapped in there. I bet itâd be like lying down in a coffin. Might as well get used to the feeling now.â
â... Wow.â Simoneâs lips stretch on her cheeks, her eyes turning towards Chidi with excitement. âI canât wait to take a look at these four brains.â
âOh! Forgot to mention. Thereâs... one more person who will be joining us.â Chidi bites his bottom lip for a moment, his mind trying to remember details of something specific. âSeems like a really interesting guy. He was almost run over by a train a few months ago, heard about the study, and emailed me last night.â
Someone knocks at the door just as he finishes those words, your head turning towards the roomâs entrance as Chidi goes to welcome the new addition.
âOh, yes! Come on in!â The professor gives out a bright smile as he puts his hands on the newcomerâs shoulders, soon showing him off to all of you. âEveryone... this is Trevor.â
You canât help but tilt your head in wonder when you see the guy, his hair slicked back as he seems to have his gray shirt plucked in his pants. He gives out a bright yet nervous smile to you and the group, one of his hands holding tightly onto a green bag.
âHey, guys!â His expression seems to soften when he looks at you, his voice coming out in a friendly tone. âIt is so great to meet you.â
His smile widens when you and the others greet him back, his eyes not able to look away from your face.
He finally found a way to get back to you, and heâs never going to let anyone take you away from him again.

âWho wants lemon bars?â Trevor sings those last two words as he shows off a plastic box filled with the mentioned desserts, you and the rest of your friends now settling down in the research room with Chidi and Simone. âItâs my Nanaâs recipe, and they are just sinful. Love âem on my lips, but hate them on my hips, if you know what I mean.â
âOooh, I love lemon bars! Gimme some!â You immediately grab a lemon bar out of the box, almost immediately shoving one into your mouth. âUgh, gosh! How are these so good?â
Trevorâs lips stretch into a wide grin after hearing your comment, his eyes softening as he looks at you. He really missed these little moments with you; heâd almost wished you two were back in the Bad Place, blissfully living your lives as soulmates while his coworkers tried to torture you and your friends.Â
âYouâre (Y/N), right?â He gently points at you as you finish your dessert, your cheeks flushing red when you hear your name roll off his tongue. âWell, you got good taste when it comes to desserts.â
You finish gulping your last bite, your lips forming a small smile despite the upcoming embarrassment already rising up your throat.Â
âNot just for desserts.â
His grin turns into a smirk, his lips stretching, furthermore, onto his cheeks. Thereâs one of your many parts he adores: the teasing yet ever so ashamed of it you. It is both intriguing and adorable, and he cannot wait to experience all of the firsts in your relationship once more.
âAlright, new guy.â Eleanor interrupts his train of thoughts when she picks a lemon bar herself, her eyes filled with a teasing glint in her eyes. âComing in strong with free dessert. If (Y/N) says she likes it, then I might take more than a few.â
A flash of anger runs through his eyes, memories of you and Eleanor being a little too close for comfort coming back to his mind in less than a few seconds. He almost let his hands fly to her neck in this instant, wanting nothing but to force her entry back into the Bad Place, but he manages to stop himself at the last second. Instead, he blinks his eyes a few times and transforms his expression into a thankful one, his lips forming a soft smile.
âYou must be Eleanor, the reason this is all happening.âÂ
âI am.â Eleanor gives him back a proud grin, the mere sight of it making his anger boil. âItâs so nice to hear someone say âEleanor, youâre the reason this is happeningâ who isnât a judge in small claims court.â
Gosh, she so deserves to be in the Bad Place. Why did you go out of your way to save her the first time he met you? She clearly wasnât worth your time nor your efforts. Who knows what would have happened if you hadnât even befriended her? He bets Shawn would have let him torture you for eternity regardless, and you two would be getting your happy ever after without any memory swipe whatsoever.
He guesses this whole âmake you fall for him againâ thing is both a blessing and a pain in the ass.
âThank you for this, Eleanor.â He puts his hand on the blondâs shoulder, his head slowly nodding as he imagines ripping her arm off her body. âItâs a wonderful thing youâve done.â
âWell, to be fair...â Eleanor takes a gulp of her bite, one of her fingers pointing at you. â(Y/N) did help out with the whole idea. You wouldnât even be here if she hadnât suggested taking in more people for the study.â
âWell, then.â He turns his head towards you in a second, his soft expression becoming genuine. âThank you, (Y/N).â
âYouâre-â You get cut off when he wraps his arms around you into a tight hug, your arms awkwardly hugging him back. â-welcome... ha...â
He tightens his grip on you for a moment, his eyes closing as he tries to register this moment deep into his mind. Being trapped in a gooey cocoon for a year, he had almost forgotten how good it felt to hold you in his arms. He almost wished heâd never have to let you go... not again.
âUm...â You awkwardly pat his back, feeling the air being squeezed out of your lungs because of his hug. â... Are you okay?â
His eyes open wide just as he takes a sharp breath, his mind immediately taking him back to reality as he lets go of you.
âSorry.â He gives out a chuckle, remembering that you see him as a stranger still and that you donât like touching strangers, at least for too long. âIâm just... so happy to be here... if that makes sense.â
Your awkward expression rapidly turns to one of relief, your lips stretching into a genuine smile. âNo problem. Just donât try to squeeze the life out of me next time.â
His smile slightly turns into a smirk of irony, a few of his memories with you contradicting the very words you just pronounced; though, he rapidly loses when you seem to turn your attention back onto Chidi, mixed feelings rapidly swirling inside his chest.
Shawnâs offer was an opportunity to have you back in his arms (and forever, might he add), but it was also his bossâ way to see him suffer through this whole experience. He has you, but not really. He has to work from the beginning, again. Only this time he has to act like this⊠annoying dork whom he already knows youâll try to avoid at all cost. This is his own Bad Place, and he should have thought about it more before he accepted his bossâs offer.
He forces a smile on his cheeks, his eyes settling on that annoying Chidi explaining further the process of his study.
Fuck, these next few weeks are gonna be boring as hell.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Â
Trevor walks out of the room with his eyes glued to his phone, a wide grin on his face as he sends another horrifying meme to Eleanorâs phone number. He might not be able to be with you just yet, but at least he still gets to annoy the shit out of that blond while heâs down there.
âTrevor.â
He looks up from his phone just as someone spits out his name with venom, his eyes sparkling with recognize once he recognizes the demon standing in front of him.
âHey, Mikey. Fancy seeing you down on Earth, completely illegally.â He gives out a grin as he takes in last bossâs new clothing, finding his hat quite hilarious. âSweet outfit⊠Dick Tracy called; he said youâre a butt face, and heâs been plowing your mom.â
He never thought heâd also get to annoy the shit out of Michael, but hey, this is a nice distraction from all the mess Shawn put him in.
âYeah, wellâŠâ Michael opens and closes his mouth a few times, trying to think of a retort to Trevorâs insult. âDick Tracey called me too⊠firstâŠ! And he said he was about to call you and tell a lie a bout me⊠that was actually true about youâŠ! InsteadâŠâ
Trevor squints his eyes at the gray-haired demon, slightly shaking his head in disappointment. This used to be the guy that was in charge of him and his colleagues? What the hell happened to his evil edge?
âWhatever.â Michael ignores the look of disappointment on Trevorâs face, making a small movement with his hand to dismiss the whole conversation they just had. âWhat are you doing here, Trevor?â
âShawn hacked the Judgeâs system, and we caught you cheating, getting your five little cockroaches to meet up.â Trevor quirks an eyebrow at him, more disappointed in the fact that he got caught than his little lies to the Judge. âWhat, you think we were just going to sit around in the Bad Place blowinâ beefers while youâre down on Earth boning us in the meathole?â
âYeah, see, but thatâs Shawnâs reason for you being here.â Michael looks at him with slight confusion, a glint of curiosity in his eyes. âBut why are you here?â
Trevorâs smirk slightly falters down when he hears that question, his expression turning to a serious one as he glares at Michael.
âYou know why Iâm here, you ass.â
â⊠ah, (Y/N). Of course.â Michael claps his hands together, a known smile on his lips that pisses Trevor the most. âWhat? Shawn promised youâd be together if you helped him get the others back?â
Trevor crosses his arms over his chest, one of his hands holding tightly onto his phone as he tenses up. âSomething like that.â
âWell, for the evilness being to ever exist, youâre a little naĂŻve.â Michael shakes his head, his hat almost falling off because of that action. âYou know Shawnâs never gonna give you that. Youâre gonna get right back in that cocoon as soon his plan succeeds, and (Y/N) is gonna get tortured forever without even knowing who you are.â
Trevor gives out a chuckle, his lips stretching onto his cheeks. âYou think I donât know that? Iâve got my own plan, dickhead. As soon as this experiment fails, Iâm grabbing (Y/N), and weâre both hiding far away from everyone, including Shawn and that Judge.â
âMy plan is not going to fail!â Michael gives out an unreadable expression, his index finger pointing at Trevor accusingly. âWhen I did this experiment in my neighbourhood every time Eleanor asked Chidi for help, their bond became unbreakable! And the entire group improved!â
âNo, youâre rightâŠ!â Trevor gives out a sad pout, his eyes filled with an evil glint in them. âThereâs no way Iâll get one of these bozos to drop out of an unpaid, rigorous academic study, especially when theyâre doing it with me, their overeager new best friend!â
âYou can try anything, TrevorâŠâ Michael rapidly loses his confidence; though, he tries to seem like he still has some. âItâs not gonna work.â
âHm. Maybe.â The evil demon shrugs, his lips forming a grin. âBut if plan A fails, Iâll just do plan B.â
âPlan B?â Michael quirks an eyebrow, panic appearing in his eyes. âWhatâs plan B?â
âOh, you know, going back to my old ways and show my true colours.â Trevorâs smile stretches out, his face approaching his past boss. âHow long do you think itâll take for (Y/N) to follow me out of the study then?â
The gray-haired demonâs eyes widen as he realizes Trevorâs plan, knowing more than anyone how you would easily listen to him as soon as you fall for him. âYou wouldnâtâŠâ
âGuess you donât know me that well, Mikey.â
Trevor lightly pats the gray-haired demonâs cheek before he takes a few steps back, intending to go back into the study room with you and the others.
âWell, I should head back⊠you wanna come with? Oh, right.â His teasing expression worsens, making Michaelâs stomach twist with more worry. âTheyâve all seen your face already, so you canât show your face to them again, so youâre powerless to stop me⊠later days, dingus!â
Michael only stares at his back as he leaves, a dreadful feeling washing over him
Theyâre doomed.

âHey, gang!â Trevor walks back into the room with a bright smile on his face, his lips stretching out when he catches a glimpse of you turning your attention to him. âI just had a neat idea⊠letâs all go sightseeing!â
Jason gasps, standing up from his chair. âDope!â
âWe can check out Sidney, get to know each other, bond.â He reluctantly looks away from you to settle his eyes on an annoyed Eleanor, the blond trying her best to keep a straight face. âWhat do you say, E Street Band? Ya up for a Segway tour ofâŠâ He takes a pause to find his own very poor Australian accent. â⊠Australia, mate? This is a knifeâŠ! On the barbieâŠ!â
âCool ideaâŠâ Eleanor gives out a hard smile, her eyes squinted. âIâm just worried that maybe⊠itâs too cool? I think Iâm just gonna find the nearest bar, have one or eight drinks and hit the hay.â
âOh, a drink.â You give out a sigh, your lips pouted. âI so desperately need one. Or ten.â
âEven better! Weâll all go bend an elbow!â Trevor looks between the two of you, an idea popping into his head. âActually, I know the perfect place for homesick Americans.â
And he knows youâre all going to hate it.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Â
âHi, dudes!â An Australian waitress wearing a cowgirl outfit greets your group as soon as you enter the restaurant, your mind barely able to register everything that is going on inside that little place. âWelcome to the Cowboy Skyscraper Buffet!â
âHey, can we get the Florida table?â Trevorâs question brings your attention back to the convo, the evil demon turning an excited look to you all. âThey absolutely nailed the swamp stench.â
âOh, someoneâs seated thereâŠâ She gives you all an apologetic pout, not noticing the looks of relief on your faces. âBut if you purchase our Manifest Destiny package for $30, you can have anyone you want forcibly removed from the table.â
Eleanor gives out a horrifying face, not even sure if sheâd enjoy this kind of place. âWeâll just sit anywhere.â
The waitress gives out a grin, taking out a gun. âWhen your tableâs ready, this gun will go off!â
She hands the weapon to Chidiâs hands before she walks away, the professorâs face faltering to an expression of pure fear as soon as he notices its heaviness. âI think⊠this is realâŠ!â
A gasp escapes Tahaniâs lips as she and the rest of you take a few steps back, Chidi unable to know what to do exactly with the gun. As he struggles to put it back on the welcoming counter, you unconsciously reach for Trevorâs arm, your fingers holding onto his shirtâs sleeve tightly as a way to comfort yourself. He gives out a known smile at the action, looking at your terrified expression from the corner of his eyes.
Maybe heâll use plan B before plan A fails.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Â
âSo, listen up, yâall.â Trevor speaks right as you put your bag down next to your chair, everyone else rapidly looking back at him a few seconds later. âI was so excited to join the group that I⊠made⊠sweatshirts!â
He proceeds to take a couple of the said sweatshirts out of his bag, throwing a couple of them at you all while you and Eleanor share a quirked eyebrow from across each other.
âYou get a sweatshirt!â
âOh, wowâŠâ You look down at the design on the fabric, internally wondering how he got this particular picture of you to put on there. âThese are⊠our faces.â
Chidi shows off the design from his place, reading out loud the words Trevor chose to put on there. âThe Brain-y Bunch.â
âAwesome! I love being on teams!â Jason immediately puts the sweatshirt on, an excited grin on his face. âAnd if weâre on a team now, we need nicknames.â.
He starts to point at each and every one of you, saying out loud a different kind of nicknames.
âUm⊠Megatron!â Jason chuckles, putting his hands under his sweatshirt to warm them up. âThatâs what you can each call me⊠now we need nicknames for you guys!â
âAh, this is the best!â You jump up when Trevor roughly wraps his arm around you, bringing you for a tight side hug as he screams. âIâm gonna get the first round, and we are all gonna toast to (Y/N), the reason weâre all here! Yay, (Y/N)!â
You give out a nervous chuckle as the rest of the table cheers along with Trevor, unaware of Eleanor squinting her eyes in jealousy at the whole thing. The blond bites the inside of her cheek, feeling like everyone suddenly forgot that sheâs the one who got them all here in the first place⊠but she manages to give out a hard smile nonetheless.
âYay, (Y/N).â
âHey, Pretty Smile.â Trevor whispers out that nickname to you, a strange glint in his eyes as he tilts his head at you. âDonât get all guilty all up in your head, all right? You deserve this.â
A strange sense of Deja Vu takes over you as you take in his words, your head tilting at him in wonder. âHow did you know-?â
âWell, if you guys are celebrating, I recommend the jalapeno poppers.â A familiar voice comes to Trevorâs ears, his expression faltering as soon as he takes in the sight of their new waitress giving him a hard glare through her smile. âHi, there. Iâm Janet. Iâll be taking care of you tonight.â
The demon tilts his head at her as he gives out an impressed smile; he had completely forgotten about Janet, that robot ladylike thing Michael stole all those years ago. If they play their cards right, they could definitely ruin Shawnâs plan of getting these five back into the Bad Place.
Unlucky for them, Trevor has played this game a thousand times already.
âThere you go.â Janet gives out the menus, her smile becoming genuine as she exchanges a few looks with you and the others. âCan I get you started with some drinks? Our specialty cocktail tonight is the 4th of July. Itâs half an apple pie, blended with Southern Comfort and Coca-Cola, served in a Chevy hubcap.â
Trevor gives out a grin, his arms still unconsciously resting on the back of your chair in a protective manner. âWhy donât you just go get us a round of beers?â
âOf course! Here you go.â She gently puts her hands up in front of her body, her smile faltering once she realizes that nothingâs popping out of nowhere. â⊠sorry. I⊠will go physically pick those up, I guess⊠and⊠then walk them back here⊠with my⊠feet.â
You and your friends share a silent look of awkwardness, not quite sure why the waitress is putting those weird tone accents to her words. Trevor, on the other end, only seems to be enjoying the celestial beingâs struggle, his lips stretched onto the farthest ends of his cheeks.
âBut just so you know, I will be here all nightâŠâ Janet takes a look at Trevor, her tone taking a threatening tone. â⊠watching everything that you order.â
Those words are enough to make Trevor lose his grin, the rest of you completely confused about the weird atmosphere taking over your table. It doesnât take long for Janet to walk away to get your first round of drinks, the demon taking in a breath before he turns his attention back to the table.
âSo, Ellie baby, brainstorm.â He accidentally lets out some of his true colours through his words, gaining a disgusted look from the blond of the group. âWe should get a house! Me, you, Tahani, Jason, (Y/N)⊠We should all go in together on a place! Roomies!â
Jason takes a sharp breath in, excitement all over his face. âRoomies!â
âUmâŠâ You raise an eyebrow, a nervous smile on your face. âI kind of⊠already have my own place.â
âThen we move in with you!â Trevor gives out a brighter grin, ignoring the sigh coming out of your lips as he and Jason share an excited look. âI think it would be super fun. We could play pranks on each otherâŠâ
Eleanor shakes her head as she looks at the menu. âNo.â
â⊠for my vlog.â He gasps, his eyes turning towards the blond woman. âWe could do one of those bucket challenges thatâŠâ
She looks up at him with an annoyed look. âI donât think so.â
â⊠sent you! Or maybe just a Harlem Shake? I learned to cook and I have beenâŠâ
âPlease, stop.â
â⊠dying to experiment withâŠâ
âPlease stop now.â
âJamaican food, man! I like the Jamaican food! Listen to the reggae and smoke the joint!â He notices the few unsure looks around the table as he speaks in a very offending accent, his head nodding as he gives out a proud look. âThatâs a Jamaican accent.â
Eleanor stares at him for a long time, then she silently goes back to read the menu to showcase her annoyance towards him. Trevor gives out a grin at that; oh, does he love to make her mad. He almost loves it more than he loves you.
âIâm so glad you came out with us, man!â The demon violently shakes Chidiâs shoulder, ignoring the painful smile spreading on the professorâs lips as she does so. âI just assumed you would think itâs unprofessional to be friends with the subjects of your study.â
Chidi scrunches up his nose in surprise. âNo, I never thought that!â
He takes a few seconds of silence to register the words they just exchanged, a worried look taking over his eyes.
âI mean, I kind of do now⊠Should I not be socializing?â
âIâm sure itâs fine. I meanâŠâ Trevor tries to hold in his smirk, already seeing Chidiâs usual spiral of uncertainty taking over his mind. â⊠how much harm could it possibly do?â
â⊠Good point.â Chidi slowly nods, his hands rapidly closing the menu as he stands up. âSuch a good point, that Iâm gonna go to think about how good of a point that is, over there, by myself, for several minutes. Excuse me.â
A proud look takes over Trevorâs face as he watches the professor walk away with sweat on the back of his neck, his attention rapidly turning towards Eleanor barely holding it all in.
âHey, El-Train, you think with all these new Star Wars movies, theyâll finally make a new Spaceballs?â
She glares at his hands randomly throwing bits of popcorn into the air, his mouth failing at catching of them. âIâm sorry, Iâm getting a text, and I have to get this.â
She doesnât waste another second before grabbing her phone on the table and walking away, harsh words about the demon already pouring out of her mouth on her way out. Trevorâs lips stretch even more onto his cheeks, which is enough to make you quirk an eyebrow at him.
Why does he look like heâs so happy sheâs leaving?
âOkay, everybody!â Janet interrupts your thoughts by walking back with a couple of beers, the celestial being gently putting down your drink in front of you and the others as she speaks. âHere are your beers⊠and here is yours-â
She seems to be purposely dropping half of the beerâs content directly into Trevorâs shirt, the demon looking down at the wet stain with a slightly surprised expression.
âOh, no!â Janet speaks up with a worried pout, a proud glint in her eyes. âI guess you should go to the bathroom⊠or maybe go home and never come back.â
âNo worries. I made extra sweatshirts.â Trevor gives back a grin, Janetâs expression genuinely turning to one of pure worry as she slowly steps away. âBesides, weâre having too much fun to leave! Hey, speaking of funâŠâ
He turns his attention towards Tahani and Jason seating across from him and you, an idea taking over his eyes.
âI know this super-fun drinking game we could play.â He raises his index fingers and points at them both, his lips stretching into a knowing grin. âEvery time one of you say something that the other canât relate to, you both drink!â
You frown as you take a sip of your own beer, already knowing that this game is not going to end well for neither Tahani nor Jason. âIâll pass.â
âWhy not? It could be fun.â Tahani gives out a small smile, turning her attention to the young man sitting next to her to try and bond. âI once played a drinking game with Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively at their macrobiotic farm with a particularly robust batch of homemade kombucha.â
She ends her words with a wink towards your way, thinking youâll somehow relate to her story, only for you to blankly stare back at her in pure silence.
âUmâŠâ Jason looks back at Trevor with wonder, confusion over his features despite his wide smile. âDo I have to drink for every word I donât know?â
Trevor has to keep an evil chuckle in. âUp to you. Just drink.â
He picks up his beer and clings it with Jasonâs, his eyes turning towards you as soon as Jason starts to drink heavily.
âYou sure you donât wanna play, Pretty Smile?â
That same sense of DĂ©jĂ Vu takes over you, your frown worsening when you notice Tahani gulp down her entire beer after Jason said something. â⊠not really my kind of game.â
âWell, if thatâs not your kind of gameâŠâ He slowly approaches his beer to his lips, his words coming out in a whisper before he takes a sip. â⊠what games do you like?â
âThe classic ones, I guess.â You gently tilt your head at him, the feeling of DĂ©jĂ Vu growing even more inside your chest. âBy the way⊠have we met before?â
The beer gets stuck inside his throat as soon as he hears you say those words, a set of coughs soon coming out of his mouth as he tries to take a hold back on his breathing. âWhat?â
âSorry.â An apologetic smile takes over your lips. âIâve just been feeling like Iâve met you before. Like in another life or something.â
He stares at you for a few seconds, a dumbfounded look all over his features, until he finally seems to realize the question youâve just asked him.
âUm⊠no.â He gives out a small hard smile, trying to hold in the excitement of you possibly remembering your past lives together. âI would have remembered meeting someone as pretty as you.â
A rush of heat takes over your cheeks in an instant, your eyes looking away so you can drown your embarrassment into a sip of beer. âIâm not that pretty.â
He gives out a fond smile as he looks at you. Gosh, this reminds him of the very first time you two drank together. You had such fun talking and joking together, albeit it would have been more fun if Eleanor had left earlier than she did⊠just like it would be much more fun if Tahani and Jason werenât overly getting drunk just on the opposite side of your shared table.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Â
You give out a chuckle at something Trevor says, your body becoming more and more relaxed the longer you two talk about anything and everything. Heâs actually very interesting when heâs not trying to win over everyoneâs friendship with meaningless memes and random sayings; he even seems to have a side of mystery to him, which makes you even more interested than youâd thought youâd be. Maybe thatâs why he feels so familiar to you?
Trevor can feel the excitement overcoming his being the longer the seconds passes, his eyes taking in each change in your soul as you speak with him. His plan was working; you were slowly falling all over for him. Soon, heâll be able to convince you to get out of this study, and once you do, heâll reveal you the whole truth about who he is and take you out of the Judgeâs sight for as long as he possibly can.
âDoes anybody want a gallon of water to sober up?â
You jump up at the sound of Janetâs voice, looking up towards her to see a hard smile on her lips. Thatâs when you notice Tahani whispering unintelligible things with her head nuzzled in Jasonâs neck, the DJ smiling brightly with even more excitement than he has ever showcased before.
âNo, thanks, sweetheart.â Trevor speaks to her just as he types something in his phone, his head making a quick movement towards your two friends. âI just called a car for these two lovebirds, so why donât you just bring us the check? Oh! AndâŠâ He looks up at her, a teasing grin on his lips. âYou should smile more. Youâll get bigger tips.â
Janet gives him a glare before she walks away, your own eyebrow quirked at that last comment he threw at her. âThat was not necessary.â
âI know.â He looks back at you with the same grin, his eyes showcasing some of his evilness. âI just like to annoy people.â
Somehow, youâre not even remotely surprise by that answer, as if you were expecting it⊠or rather knew it. How is it that you always seem to know what heâll say or do whenever he act genuine?
âSorry, IâŠâ You put down your drink and pick up your stuff before you stand up, giving him and your two friends an apologetic look. âItâs getting late, so⊠Iâm gonna go home.â
A rush of disappointment takes over Trevorâs chest as your two friends complain and whine, the demon losing his smile in a second as he tries to think of a way to make you stay longer. âBut⊠itâs Trivia NightâŠ?â
âIâll play another time.â You make a head movement towards Tahani and Jason now fully snuggling. âMake sure they go home okay for me, alright?â
He barely has time to open his mouth that youâre already walking away, leaving him alone with his need to spend all of his time with you. He gives out a sigh, a look of pure frustration taking over him.
Fuck, itâs so hard to be patient.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Â
Trevor opens the door of his toilet cabin with an unreadable look on his face; though, a laugh rapidly comes out of his mouth when he takes in the sight of Janet and Michael blocking the bathroomâs exit.
âOh, guys,..â He approaches them with a wide grin, loving to see the desperation on their faces. âDonât you buttnecks ever give up?â
âNo.â Janet frowns, confusion in her eyes as she stares at him. âAnd what are you even doing in a bathroom? Youâre a demon. You donât⊠need it.â
âI like the smells.â He shrugs, his smirk stretching onto his cheeks as he gives them a wink. âAnd I like putting my hands in the toilet, so everything I touch gets a little poop on it.â
Both Janet and Michael give him a look of pure horror, which is enough to bring another laugh out of him.
âOh! You guys see what I did out there?â He points towards the exit, a proud glint appearing in his eyes. âI am so good, I got Eleanor to leave a bar early. Chidiâs melting down, Jason and Tahani just left together⊠if they hook up, sheâs on the first private jet out of here. And (Y/N) and I just bonded.â He chuckles, slightly shaking his head at Michael almost in disbelief. âThis was too easy!â
âItâs gonna take a lot more than that to break up this group.â Michael approaches the evil demon, fake confidence over his features. âWhy donât you give up, Trevor? As long as weâre here, youâll never succeed.â
âHm. Maybe.â Trevor gives out a pout of wonder, his head tilting at them. âBut how long will that take? I mean, at some point, the Judge will find out that youâre not in your little room watching ticker tape. Right? Tick tick tick tick!â
Michael and Janet share a silent look filled with worry, both of them knowing that Trevor was telling the truth. Sooner than later, theyâre gonna need to go back. And Shawnâs plan (or at least, Trevorâs plan) will most likely succeed.
âBut, hey⊠may the worst demon win.â Trevor gives out a smile, stretching his hand towards the gray-haired demon in a surprising moment. âGood luck, Mikey.â
Michael gives out a sigh, his hand reaching out towards Trevorâs and roughly grabbing it to give it a handshake.
âAh! Poop hands!â Trevor points at him with his free hand, a wide grin on his face as he watches Michael pull his hand back with disgust. âI canât believe you fell for that! Anyway, later dinguses!â
He walks past them to get out of the bathroom, his smile faltering into a hard look.
No matter what Michael and Janet throw at him, his plan will succeed.
Nothingâs gonna stop him from getting you back.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Â
âI got it!â
Eleanor gives out a laugh of disbelief right as she says those words, the mere tone of her voice bringing the fighting between you and the others to an abrupt stop. Michael and Shawn share a confused look when she gives them a hard grin, her eyes soon turning towards you and your friends.
âThis isnât the Good Place, guys⊠this is the Bad Place!â She points at Michael and Shawn, her lips stretching onto her cheeks. âTheyâve been making us torture each other this entire time!â
When an evil laugh escapes from Michaelâs mouth, your hand unconsciously reach out for Trentâs arm, your fingers holding tightly onto the sleeve of his jacket. The evil demonâs lips stretch into a large grin as soon as he feels your touch, his eyes looking down at you with a strange glint in them. You feel your heart drop when you notice the look on his face, a dreadful washing over you as you realize the gravity of Eleanorâs realization.
âSurprise, Pretty Smile.â
You give out a scream as you wake up in your bed, sweat all over your forehead as you hold onto the memories of that awful nightmare. It was such a strange dream, having all of your friends there, including that waitress you met today and that âMichaelâ guy youâve crossed paths with months ago. Even though it was all a nightmare, you couldnât quite shake the feeling that it was holding answers to unknown questions of yours. As if⊠as if youâve already lived through this once, or rather multiple times.
You shake your head, a sigh escaping your lips as you lay back onto your bed.
Letâs not let a silly nightmare take your sleep away.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Â
Trevor tries his best to not roll his eyes at Jason, his lips forming one of his fakest nice smiles he can possibly give. âThis is the best secret-friendship handshake, bro.â
âAttention, everyone.â Tahani walks in with sunglasses on her face, her arms holding a bunch of letters on top of a folder. âDo not look at me.â
âOh, wellâŠâ Simone blinks a few times, her eyes looking down at the table with an unsure smile. âI donât know what to doâŠâ
âI am both overhung and humiliated by my uncouth comportment last night.â Tahani takes off her sunglasses in one sweep movement, her lips forming a pout as she tries to keep her composure. âPlease accept these formal letters of apology.â
She walks around the room, handing the letters first to Chidi and Simone standing next to the board before handing two mores to Jason and Trevor sitting at the table.
âFurther apologies for their appearance.â She sits down to the chair next to Jason, a sigh escaping her lips. âI just couldnât find a proper calligrapher at five in the morning.â
Trevorâs lips stretch out when he takes in the look of embarrassment on both Tahani and Jasonâs faces, his tongue slowly licking the inside of his cheek before he speaks up. âSo, what happened to you two lovebirds last night, huh?â
The model slightly glares at him. âFrankly, it is none of your business.â
Trevor rapidly rises his hands in the hand as a defense. âSorry.â
â⊠but Jason was a perfect gentleman last night.â Tahaniâs words are enough to bring Trevorâs proud smirk to an abrupt shocked expression, the rich woman soon turning her attention to the DJ sitting next to her. âThank you so much for getting me home safely. I wouldnât blame you should you ostracize me for my boorish behavior.â
âYou werenât boring.â Jason gives her a bright smile, letting go of the pen he was using to draw random words on pieces of paper. âYou were fun.â
Trevor tunes out the rest of the conversation, a rush of pure disappointment taking over him as he realizes part of his plan didnât go like he thought it would. He did everything so these two would sleep together; yet, they didnât? What the hell went wrong here?
âIâm here! Iâm here!â You scream out those words as you run into the room, a look of panic on your face as you drop your bag in the corner and rapidly sit next to Trevor. âSo sorry for being late, guys. I had nightmares all night, I barely managed to sleep.â
âOh, no.â Chidi frowns in worry at you while the others give you looks of comfort, the professor tilting his head at you for a moment. âWere they that bad?â
âIt was like the same thing over and over, but with slight changes.â You give out a sight, your next set of words making Trevorâs ears perk up. âThe weirdest part, though, is that you were all in them. Well, except for you, Simone.â
The evil demon turns his eyes towards you under the surprised noises of your comrades, hope rapidly grasping its chest. âWhat were they about?â
âWell, we were like⊠in heaven, I guess? But then we learned we were actually in hell. Which was⊠nerve-wrecking⊠every single time.â You reach out for the pen Jason let go minutes ago, starting to play with it as you take a strange look at Trevor. âEven weirder thing, you always turned out to be a demon disguising himself as my soulmate.â
His fingers tighten their grip on the pencil heâs holding, his lips stretching into a wide grin as he tries to hold back his excitement. âHow bizarre.â
But oh so wonderful that youâre remembering.
âI hope youâll have enough energy for today, (Y/N).â Chidi claps his hands together, sending you a comforting smile before he turns his attention to the rest of you. âAs soon as Eleanor gets here, weâll begin.â
âYeah, um⊠bad news, prof.â Trevor gently bites his pen as he speaks, giving Chidi a sad look. âEleanor might not be coming. She bailed right after you did last night. Seemed like she was having second thoughts about being a part of the Brain-y Bunch, soâŠâ
âOh, well, thatâs disappointingâŠâ Chidi takes a moment of silence, his eyes blinking fast when he realizes something. â⊠in terms of how it affects the study. ButâŠ! We press on! Like professionnalsâŠ!â
Simone gives him a knowing smile as she types something on her phone, Chidi giving her back an innocent one before he turns towards the board. It doesnât take him long before he turns his attention back on her, a look of pure hesitation on his face.
âHey, do you think I should-â
âYeah.â Simone nods, the simple exchange between them making Trevor quirk an eyebrow. âAnd I already called you a car because you should not drive. Itâs outside.â
Chidi gives out a soft smile. âThanks.â
Trevor bites the inside of his cheek, anger and frustration taking over his face as he watches Simone kindly lead Chidi towards the outside of the building.
Fuck. He hates when Michael is right.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Â
âFuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck!â
Those are the words Trevor mumbles under his breath as he carefully walks towards the bathrooms, his recent lair for the past few days for him to think of his plan. A plan which is all going down the drain faster than he anticipated. Not only did Jason and Tahani didnât sleep together, but Chidi managed to convince Eleanor to come back to the study! That blond idiot was his safe boat, his lifesaver. She was the one thing in his plan he was a hundred percent sure succeeded. But now? Fuck, now, heâs back to square one!
Well, not exactly⊠it looks like getting closer to you once more managed to jig back some of your past memories. Frankly, they all appeared to you in the form of nightmares, and you probably only remember the bad parts⊠but youâre getting there! Maybe he wonât even have to explain to you why heâs getting you out of this study like he thought heâd have to do.
Trevor violently pushes the door to the menâs bathroom, having the intention of dumping his head under the sink to the cold water bring him some new ideas.
âHey, Dick Tracy called.â The mere sound of Michaelâs voice makes Trevor roll his eyes in annoyance, too tired to even have any sort of conversation with his old boss and the good Janet. âHe said that I was right about Eleanor and Chidi having an unbreakable bond.â
Trevor squints his eyes at him. âI donâ think you understand how that joke works.â
âYeah, that doesnât matter.â Michael dismisses his words with a simple movement of hand, his head already shaking as he gives out a grin. âWe won. Thatâs the point.â
âYou won squat.â The evil demon crosses his arms over his pale blue polo shirt, his teeth grinding at the thought of even losing to the Bad Place traitor. âIâm gonna get my way eventually. Iâll just keep chipping away till one of them bails. And guess whatâŠ!â A smile appears on his face as he approaches Michaelâs. â(Y/N) even started to remember a few things⊠So Iâm pretty sure Iâm on the right track, here.â
âThese five humans are all I care about in the universe.â Michaelâs left eye twitches, his upper lip snarling up as he glares at Trevor. âAnd there is nothing, and I mean nothing, thatâs gonna come between me and them.â
Trevorâs lips stretch out into a threatening grin. âWell, Iâd like to see you try.â
Janet blinks a few times as she watches the exchange, an idea appearing inside her head just as she parts her lips. âWhat about (Y/N)?â
A silence takes over both demons, the two of them blinking a few times before turning a confused look to her. Michael seems to silently ask her whereâ sheâs getting at, but itâs Trevor that speaks up first as he sends her a glare.
âWhat about her?â
âWell, you care about her.â Janet points at him with her head before she tilts it, a look of wonder on her face. âYouâd do anything for the two of you to be together, right?â
Trevorâs expression worsens. âYour point?â
âWell, you said she was starting to rememberâŠâ Janet bites the inside of her cheek, making some sort of grimace as she speaks. âHow do you think sheâs going to react when she learns youâre trying to ruin her and her friendsâ chances at a good afterlife?â
âIâm not trying to ruin her chance.â Trevor rapidly approaches her, offended that she would even insinuate that he wants you to be tortured. âIâm trying to ruin their chances. Then she and I split and find our own happy ending far away from everyone!â
Michael gives her a wide grin from his place, silently sending her a thumbs up to encourage her to continue.
âThatâs my point, Trevor.â Janet quirks an eyebrow at the evil demon, crossing her arms behind her back. âDo you really think sheâll be okay with the thought of her friends being sent right back to the Bad Place while she runs away freely?â
A lump comes up in his throat, images of your face showcasing hurt and betrayal as you look at him coming to his mind. Heâs already seen it before, in a few retries of Michaelâs experiment, but in the end, he could live with you hating him for a while. What he canât live with, is the assured thing that your guilt will double, triple even. Youâll never be able to enjoy your afterlives together or let yourself be happy, not when youâd know your friends were sent to the Bad Place⊠all because of him, because he didnât care enough about them to save them along with you.
Because he didnât care enough about you to know youâd want them by your side, even if he hates them more than anything.
Trevor gives out a long sigh, giving both Janet and Michael a frustrated look. âYou really had to hit me with that moral bullshit, didnât you?â
The two acolytes share a grin, Michael giving him a hopeful look soon after. âSo⊠does that mean youâre with us?â
âOnly cause thatâs what she would want.â Trevor crosses his arms over his chest, already hating the look of pure joy appearing on both of their faces. âAnd donât you dare tell anyone Iâve gone soft, or Iâm gonna kick both of you in the nuts-â
They all jump up and turn around in surprise when a door appears out of nowhere, fear spreading on their faces when they see the familiar silhouette of the Doorman coming out of it.
âOh! Good. Youâre all together.â He gives them a nice smile, relief taking over his features. âThe Judge wants to see you.â
â⊠now?â Michaelâs voice trembles as he speaks, Trevor giving him a quick look between him and the bathroomâs exit. âRight now?â
âUmâŠâ Trevor points at himself, his face making an unsure expression. âLike all of us, or-â
âYup.â The Doorman nods at him, his eyes soon looking around the menâs bathroom while the three celestial beings share a long look of fear and uncertainty. âSo, this is Earth, huh?â
Janet looks between Michael and Trevor in silence, internally asking them what in the world theyâre supposed to do now. Michael can only give her back a look of pure panic and despair, whereas Trevor simply shrugs as he seems, for one of the first few times in his eternal life, completely at loss at what heâs supposed to do.
âOh!â The Doorman gives out a grin of excitement when he turns on a faucet, his eyes sparkling as he turns it off. âPretty cool!â
Janet gives out a long sigh, her feet taking her first towards the door. It doesnât take long for Michael and Trevor to follow her in, the Doorman taking a few seconds to wipe the water off his hands before he follows them last.
Trevor bites the inside of his cheek, a dreadful feeling taking over his chest.
This⊠is not good.

Note
Would you consider writing another Trevor (tgp) x reader? maybe post human in the museum?
I would if someone gives me a prompt or a little idea! I would really love to add more parts to that, but my mind is just completely empty. So if you or anyone else wants to help out, that would really boost my inspiration brain.
