Okay, first attempt at XCOM: Terror from the Deep for the first time in 10 years resulted in a sensation, in which I can imagine, feeling much like getting your nuts slammed by a baseball bat, then kicked in the groin, then having 20 liters of boiling oil dunked on your trousers, followed by an angry punch right to the cock.
Just how I remember TFTD.

thought for the day: if everyone adopted the aesthetic of "minimalism" as a lifestyle, would you say that is bad (end of art and passion, etc.) or good (less consumption, etc.)?

skinning your knee.
or briefly falling down a set of handmade wooden stairs during a dress rehearsal while your directors are really stressed and you had to do a quick change right after and you got onstage on time but then after you got offstage you had a bit of a break so you were kind of just standing around until you noticed that almost your entire knee was skinned and your finger was bleeding and you walked up to a stage crew member and asked if you looked okay and you were also wearing a rly stupid wig that was too small for your head and so they thought you were talking about your wig and said “yes” but then you showed them your finger and apparently it was like rly bad so you had to go hunting for a first-aid kid mid-run and every run after that (including shows) people warned you not to run down the stairs :)
or the soup thing
that sounds not great too

Thought for The day: Can Religion and Science coexist? Can they both be believed in by the same person simultaneously?- @thoughtforthedaysolitaire
Yes! My parents are VERY VERY religious (like pokemon is evil type of christian), and my dad is a scientist.
But also, it'd be very hard to deny something that is everywhere.

((You know what'd be cool? Something themed after XCOM: Terror From the Deep. Get on it, Xenonauts team, you've remade UFO Defense now remake Terror From the Deep - with the insane difficulty.))
#ooc#((I think the funniest part is that I found out))#((there was a glitch in the OpenXcom version of TFTD))#((and possibly the original as well))#((where if you use a certain weapon to destroy the final objective on the highest difficulty the game crashes))#((and it went undiscovered until like 2018 or some shit))#((bc so few people had beaten the game on the highest difficulty that nobody had tried it before))

thought for the day: do you think that the act of constantly convincing yourself that you are good is a reflection of you being inherently good or inherently bad?

Thought for The day: Can Religion and Science coexist? Can they both be believed in by the same person simultaneously?- @thoughtforthedaysolitaire
This have been on my inbox for like, a month or something cause i don't know how to answer
Yes. No. It depends.
What is religion? There need to be 3 people in a religion for it be considered one
If I say I believe in science and 2 other people agree with me does that make it a religion? Do we make our *God* a doctor? A scientist we admire?
Who says we can't?
There are a lot of religions out there, and I sure as heck don't know how they all work
I think a lot are actually based on scientific stuff, in one way or the other
And I think there are a lot of people who kinda believe in both, but not entirely always
Sometimes they trust doctors, but also hope for miracles

Anon Thought for the day: Do you think that, if we were happy for our entire lives, we would die feeling like we'd missed out on something? - @thoughtforthedaysolitaire
after drafting a post for like a solid five minutes, i think i have my answer: no.
if we were genuinely happy for our entire lives (and not in an everything-is-always-perfect way, but more in a there’s-some-joy-in-everything-even-the-bad way), then no, we wouldn’t.
this question is focusing on happiness overall and not on good or bad in life, so, think about it:
someone you loved, and cared for dearly, dies, in this hypothetical, you wouldn’t be sad. But if we’re not talking about the incapability to feel anything but happy and are more so talking about that you are simply always happy, than you wouldn’t think about what you lost, you’d think about how they’ll be at peace forever. You’ll think about them watching over you and being proud of you.
So, my answer is no. If we were genuinely, truly, happy for our entire lives, then i don’t think we’d die feeling like we missed out on something.
