A Potential HeavyMedic Discord?

I was debating on whether to make this post or not, but with Don'tNeedADiscord's closure yesterday, I feel like it's necessary.

Even before DNAD announced it was being archived, I had a desire to create a Discord dedicated to HeavyMedic content where the fellow shippers and artists could gather. There is such a large amount of us in the TF2 community, and I feel like that if we came together, we could create something big like a theme week or zine.

In the end, I never submitted this Discord to the DNAD mods and I dismissed the idea because I am going off to college and I feared I wouldn't have enough time to act as owner. Additionally, since I was rarely active in DNAD outside of events, I had no clue where to start in terms of a moderation team. I've set up channels and all of the rules, but I don't know who would be the best to enforce them. This HeavyMedic Discord still sits desolate on my sidebar, and maybe someday I'll have the confidence and people needed to launch it for real.

This post is mainly an interest check for my community (whether it be on Tumblr, AO3, or the people who knew me on DNAD before it shut down) and any other HeavyMedic supporters. Who would be interested in this HeavyMedic Discord and building it up? And yes, I know, I've been severely inactive on AO3 for several months now, but I promise to post at least one story before the summer ends. I've just been less and less motivated about writing for TF2 nowadays.

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for all of your support throughout the course of this project. A few weeks ago, I (Mod Ren) made our donation to Le Refuge, a grand total of 2,889 Euros, or at the time of conversion, over $3000 USD. Below are the receipts, with my personal information blacked out.

Again, I and the rest of the mod team want to extend our gratitude to everybody who supported us, whether it was contributing your work to the zine, reblogging our posts, or buying our items. It's thanks to everyone's help that we were able to make such a big donation to Le Refuge!

Hey folks!

I know I don't need to do this, but I didn't want to leave y'all in the dark. So, regarding my HIATUS, atm I am going to continue my break from the astral glass accounts!

Until when is a bit indefinite, but I have more info regarding why and what under the cut!

first of all, thank you SO MUCH for all the support <333333 it has been life-changing to have so many amazing friends come from this space;;;

ok, here are my hiatus reasons:

- burnout, and taking the summer to draw for MYSELF and others, and not force out artwork for tf2 everyday

- art + portfolio needs improvement, so hopefully making some leeway

- I found over the course of a month+, that taking a break was great. I've been drawing for me, friends, and whatever interests me, versus feeling like I have to make content as a 'tf2 artist'. That fanartist cage is a strong one, and I think it's about time I create for fun and not for obligation

- lots of irl stuff! moving, work, future plans, romance, etc! here is my PLAN:

- this acc (astral glass) will REMAIN a tf2 art acc! I will likely make more tf2 art in my future, which will stay here!

- I plan to move ALL my attention to @aveskeep, which is very fresh and empty atm. Aveskeep will be my new and OFFICIAL art acc for my future!

- As for this acc, I still plan on revisiting my bug au, pride hcs, zines, and ofc Seeker.

- the future is weird! the future is unknown! All I can hope for is that I find joy as do the people in my life. I will go where that wind carries me <3

Hey y’all! I’m happy to finally announce publicly the next dontneeda brand project I am hosting with @allthepandasintheworld. The dontneedaStickerPack project is a TF2 Community Sticker Pack created to promote artists of the dontneedadiscord server.

Several decisions within the interest check form have already been made based on our discord server’s input, but you can still contribute your ideas to the dnad Sticker Pack project and help us cater the project to what buyers and contributors would like to see. First things first: the dontneedaStickerPack project is a project meant to promote artists of the dontneedadiscord community. If you would like to contribute to this project, you can join the discord here. Our server members mean a lot to us and this is a project for our dontneedadiscord family.

Admission is OPEN. This means that we will not be holding the traditional application process associated with zines. Applicants will be given templates and guidelines for their sticker designs with a deadline for their submissions. For more questions about the admissions and submissions process, please visit:

Open admissions begin on March 21st. The submission deadline is April 18th, 2021 at 11:59 pm PST. This is a STRICT deadline. Only members of the discord can submit designs. 

All designs (provided they meet the guidelines) will be accepted into the pack in either Physical or Digital form. Physical design slots will be limited and the final designs will be voted for anonymously by the dontneedadiscord community. Designs that do not make it to physical print will be included in a digital .pdf DIY sticker sheet with all orders. This way, all designs will be included together. 

We do have plans for a stretch goal, more info on this to come later! 

The idea behind this Sticker Pack is to give a chance to our artists that might not be as able to get into zines an opportunity to be a part of a TF2 community project. We have many members of our discord who are incredibly talented and we want to offer them the chance to be seen. Please consider supporting this project in any way that you can.

Holy CRAP, campers! We BUSTED through our first budget goal for the TF2 GORL SCOUT FIELD GUIDE ZINE. That means that every single dollar now goes DIRECTLY back to our 15 contributing campers!
