The Press Secretary Part 18

Summary: Chris the mayor of town is married to his wife Becca. When he hires a new press secretary who happens to be his lost love old feelings resurface and Chris finds it hard to resist the desire he once had for her

Chris straightens his jacket as he stands in front of a mirror Emily comes from behind him “You ready for this?”

“Yeah I am and thank you so much this would put an end to their reign of terror”

“Glad I can help you sure you don’t want me to come?”

Chris smiles as he pulls her close “I want to but Becca has been showing some erratic behavior and I don’t know what would happen if she saw you” Chris kisses her forehead

“Ok Chris I trust you just keep safe at least let me drive you over”

“Ok babe but stay out of sight”

Emily nods and they head out to Chris’s car they drive down to Becca’s father’s house. As the pull up Chris squares his shoulders “Ok this is it”

“Wait a minute Chris” Emily hands him a small device

“What’s this?”

“A recorder just in case things go south and I’ll be listening in getting everything and I’ll have the police ready”

“Thanks Em you’re amazing” He kisses her softly then gets out the car and walks to the house he takes a deep breath as he knocks

The door opens and Becca stands there smirking “Chris darling come in”

Chris sighs as he walks inside and sees her dad in the living room with a glass of whiskey

“Well Chris have you thought about my daughter’s offer?”

“I have”

“So what have you decided?”

 Chris crosses his arms “No”

Becca’s eyes narrow “You might wanna rethink that Chris cause if you don’t”

“You don’t want this info about you to get out?” He throws papers on the table

Becca grabs them and her eyes go wide “Chris…I can explain!”

“Explain what? What a hypocrite you are? Looks like I wasn’t the only one cheating”

“Well what did you expect?!” Becca shouts out with tears streaming down her face “You wouldn’t touch me! You refused to give me a child! I just needed”

“To pin someone else’s baby on me? So you can keep me trapped with you forever?!”

Becca shakes “Chris please I’m sorry!”

“I’m sorry too sorry I ever got involved with you”

Becca father whirls on her “What’s this?! You trying to cause me a scandal!”

“Daddy I can explain!”

Chris smirks as he leaves them to argue he heads out to the car and hops right in

Emily smiles “Well that went well”

“I’m surprised there was no need for cops her dad didn’t even know about it”

Emily giggles “I bet he wasn’t too happy about that”

Chris chuckles “Well at least this will get them away from me I’m gonna file a restraining order against her I want her as far away as possible” He takes her hand “I just want a future with you”

Emily blushes “Me too Chris I love you”

“I love you too Em” He kisses her softly “Now I have somewhere to take you”

“Where are we going?”

“You’ll see”

I bet I know how The Senior ends...

The set up:

Alright, MC's lost Vasquez's journal, left in a cab, never to be seen again, right? WRONG! The last entry she read detailed how Vasquez finally realized what a dope he'd been with (chick he was dating whose name I cant remember because Vasquez's journal enteries were typically hella boring). Point is, Vasquez and what's her face split up to take their own paths, much like MC and James (or whoever your LI is even though it should be James because we should have ALL been dating James). Ohhh, the foreshadowing!

How this will all go down:

James finds the journal in the cab on his way to the airport when he's leaving for Alaska (or, someone else in the gang finds the journal in the cab and passes it along to James before he leaves, but for the sake of drama, let's say it all goes down IN the cab with James being the finder). James thumbs through the journal, settles on the entry MC finished reading in this chapter, where Vasquez realizes he was an idiot to let the love of his life just take off because he was unwilling/afraid to compromise. James reads the next entry. In the next entry, Vasquez, now aware of how stupid he was to take the job that was a "sure thing" in the first place, hauls off after what's her name. Clear-headed, still in love, and more determined (and jobless) than ever, he shows up wherever what's her face is and BEGS, no, PLEADS for her to take him back. Vasquez expresses that his actions were driven by fear, blah blah blah. He promises to change, says he believes in her, whatever. She takes him back, they have a kid, the rest is history that I dont remember from The Freshman series.

Inspired, James (and all the money he saved when he moved out of his fancy, expensive apartment to live in absolute squalor with MC) gets to the airport and changes his flight. He's not going to Alaska. He's taking a page outta Vasquez's book and going to London to BEG for forgiveness! He doesn't need Alaska, their earthquakes, or a view of Russia from his backyard (or wherever the other LIs were going. I dont know where since, again, we should all have been dating James)! All he needs is MC. He promises that if she takes him back, he'll get his shit together, cause let's be honest, he knows he's been working her last good nerve since he started counting the asparagus! MC agrees to resume a relationship with James (hopefully after he takes her out on the town and does things to her in that dress that aren't rated PG-13 because why the hell else would we spend diamonds on it when the series is probably ending), but by now she's been hired on fulltime. No problem at all though. James moves to London. They live in a nice place, get hitched, make babies. James is the happiest stay-at-home author/dad ever.

And yes, it works out exactly like I said because this is The Freaking Freshman series and shit always works out just fine, damn it!

okokok so i was never a super super big fan of the freshman/the sophomore/the junior/the senior series buuuuuuut i just finished my first semester of college and felt super nostalgic for this book so!!! here’s a group picture (taken by chris thats why hes not in the picture ehehe totally not bc i forgot abt him) of the entire group

[just ranting about how the break up went down in The Senior cause yes, i'm only playing it now cause i wasn't ready for it to end]

I LOVE ANGST. I've made that known. So when I've heard that there was a forced break up between me and my LI; admittedly, it piqued my interest. How will it go down?

Needless to say, it was OOC of both Chris and my MC. They've been together for 4 freaking years. Chris has always been the endgame for my MC, ever since we bumped that fateful day; he's the one. When Kaitlyn started showing feelings, MC said no. MC always made sure James was nothing more but a friend and made that clear ["He's not really my type," "He's just a friend/colleague"]. Zig appeared and MCs first sentence to him was, "I have a boyfriend." Nathan did not even stand a chance. It has always been Chris.

I have always fought for our relationship. Chris and I fought for our relationship. So it is OOC that MC will just break things off and Chris letting her. What should have happened was us having a disagreement, me staying at another place to cool things off, then talk about it once we both can handle a conversation.

We then both realise that we love each other, but at the same time, not holding back one another to pursue our dreams. We let ourselves grow as an individual and to not always be dependent on one another. Build happiness on our own so that when we're together, we share that happiness (instead of you know, basing our happiness on the other person).

It felt that it's either Chris or MC sacrificing in order for the other person to pursue their dream. And now in chapter 14, it's either stay in London or go back to the States. I'm..... We could've tried LDR and made that work.

Not satisfied with how it went. It was just drama for the sake of drama. But like what I saw from the other post, MC should've been more heartbroken over losing Chris than losing the journal.

Friendsgiving

A/N: In celebration of Thanksgiving here's a Chris thankgiving them fanfic hope you all enjoy it

Chris stood at the table placing the plates and the forks on the table the smell of the roasted turkey came into the air. He grins as he sees his fiancé Lily putting the turkey on the table

“Looks delicious babe let me try a piece” He reaches for the turkey

“Hands off!” Lily smacks his hand away “You gotta wait”

Chris chuckles “Oh come on 1 piece”

“No if I give you 1 soon you’ll ask for another then another and boom there’s no turkey left”

Chris laughs “Alright I’ll wait just so long as I get my drumstick”

“Long as it’s not the wing you’ll get it”

Chris raises his hands in surrender “Hey everyone knows better than to mess with your turkey wing you almost bit Zach’s hand off”

“Cause he tried to take my wing it’s mine no one else’s!”

Chris laughs as Lily puts the cover on the turkey “Now to get the rest of the food”

“Yes ma’am” Chris heads to the kitchen and gets the rest of the food he smiles as looks at the spread “It looks amazing Lil let’s take a pic of this spread” He pulls out his phone

“Wait Chris let me get the cover off the turkey” She quickly grabs it and stands aside “Go ahead Chris”

Chris smiles then snaps the picture “This is perfect Lil now we gotta wait for our guests to arrive”

“This is gonna be a great Friendsgiving I can’t wait to see everyone and show them our new house”

“I know I can’t wait to see their faces it’s been so long since we’ve seen them in person video calls isn’t doing it for me anymore”

“It’s not the same but now we can see them all”

The doorbell rings and Lilly grins as she goes to answer then door “Zach you made it”

“Wouldn’t miss it for the world I brought some pie”

“Oh yay you’re world famous apple pie I hope it taste as good as you always say”

Zach mock gasps “You doubt me? Well when you eat it you’ll see”

Lily giggles as she puts the pie on the table

Chris comes over and greets him “Glad you can make it how’s everything going with you”

“Oh everything is fine I’ll tell you all about it when everyone else gets here”

The doorbell rings and Chris goes to answer it “Zig hey how you doing”

“Great man uh my mom made me bring some of her empanadas”

Lily takes it from him “Oh good I love your mom’s cooking”

“She’ll be glad to hear it thanks for the invite better than being in that house with over 2 dozen people”

Lily giggles “Well you know family is important”

“Yeah I know too many people I swear I’ve gotten squished and I barley get food cause everyone wants seconds and thirds”

Lily laughs as the doorbell rings again “Kaitlyn!” Lily hugs her

“Hi! Hope I’m not late”

“You’re right on time people just started arriving”

“Here’s our latest album as promised”

Lily grins “I can’t wait to listen to this” Before Lily can close the door James comes in

“Hi there everyone”

Lily hugs him “Hi James how’s the writing coming”

“My new book will come out next month I’ll give you a copy”

Lily grins “Yay I can’t wait”

Tyler and Abbie open the door “Hey all Abbie made some cake”

“Hope you all in enjoy this”

Chris takes the cake “I’m sure we will”

Becca comes in whipping her hair “Hello

“Becca you’re the last one”

Becca grins “That means I’m fashionably late”

Lily smiles “Ok everyone gather around” Her friends all gather around the table Chris stands next to her an arm on her shoulder “I’m glad you all came to celebrate thanksgiving with us in our new house so let’s all dig in and enjoy the food”

Everyone cheers as the being taking plates Chris pulls her to the side “You did well and you know what I’m thankful for?”

“What?”

“I’m thankful to have such amazing beautiful fiancé that soon I’ll call my wife”  He pulls her closers “Can’t we just elope I want you to be my wife already”

Lily giggles “Chris I don’t want that kind of wedding it’s boring”

Chris chuckles “You’re right I can’t wait to see you in that beautiful dress and when we’re alone oh the things I’ll do”

Lily smiles “I love you Chris”

“I love you too” He kisses her deeply
