New project unleashed!

At last it is done! The story of Askabharad begins. 

Tough personal project made to improve my skills in modeling and texturing. Also a little bit of post production was made in Photoshop.

For texturing the pyramid and pillars I used the Substance painter. Ground and the rocks are created in Modo using procedural texture mixing. All modeled and rendered in Modo. 

Bricks were also textured in modo by the technique of masking different materials with paint brush. However it was not the best solution because of need to save masks as separately images and if modo crash, you lost your work. Shapes of bricks are made by the sculpting in Modo but for next project I will definitely use zbrush.

Try-out with Color and Texture

Mixing and matching the textures and colour of your food adds to its flavour and appearance. Consider opposite colours for both your table décor and ingredients. Mixing up the colour and textures of the napkins and placemats you use, can also match your food. Some typical cooking techniques and their effect on food's appearance are boiling and steaming, roasting, searing, frying etc. Foods with plain colour can also be made to look more tasty and exciting with the addition of bright, fascinating garnishes. 

 Choosing the perfect plates and temperature: 

The plate or crockery you choose to serve your dishes is as essential as the meal itself. Cream and white crockery are the suggested colour for plates as they are plain and allow the food items to stand out on them. Plates with patterns or bold colours can take away the food's visual interest and detail. Temperature is also as important as food. So make sure you use cooled plates like chill bowls for cold food and heat plates for serving hot food.

 Finishing touches:

For starters and the main course, if suitable you can add simple garnish to your food like thinly cut leaf herb sprinkle over the food. For dessert, you can put a little cocoa powder or icing sugar on it or else you could try adding your favourite liquor or beverages and make it better than a dinner party catering.
