Testing Type

Since week 2, I have been searching and digitally testing some typefaces that I may want to use. When I first began looking, I was still considering using a serif typeface, for its classical characteristics and design. As I progressed throughout the week, deepened my research and fleshed out some other design details, such as colour, I decided not to use serif. However, I thought it would still be a good idea to showcase the different styles I have been looking at.

Once I had come to the realisation, that I wanted to stay away from using a thin, serif typeface, I began filtering through all the test types below to find one that is either significant for its characteristics and similarities to historic typefaces, ones that captured the style of the designers in the event or a friendly, inviting typeface that our audience would be willing to interact with.

The fonts that I am considering using throughout my design are Nuezeit Grotest, New Order, Adelle, Sabon LT std (small serif), Montserrat, AureUltra roman, DM sans and raleway.

Before I decide on a final subheading and/or a body typeface, I will need to ensure that it connects well with my display typeface, so there is consistency throughout my design.
