-> There be nothin' like the warm sun after days on th' sea, but it can become nuisance-like after a day or three. Though, th' cold be bringing an invitation to huddle together under the deck. I suppose it depends on th' conditions needed, but I would say the cold fer me.

Honey --

-> Me scars. Me scars from different battles, all tellin' a story. A'course, the physical fighting, plundering, but I think me favourites are from th' battle that I faced meself, now proud on me chest.

Testing. Testing.

With the faire and festival season in full swing, I've been trying out new configurations on my sword and shield combo.

This was my first run with this previse setup, so the beach surrounded by water, and with the crazy talented Ashmo_fire as my safety seemed like a great place for some trial and error.

There are still a few modifications to be made before my next public show at the upcoming Revenge of the Dragon event, but I'm really excited to keep pushing the boundaries of my flow.

Stay safe out there, and please don't try this at home unless you are a trained professional.

Even kids don't want everything to be 100% for kids. They will watch the news and documentaries, read encyclopedias and magazines, listen to music that's about drugs and sex and taxes completely oblivious until it hits them a decade later.

Obviously being exposed to hardcore porn, horror films and having to do adult emotional management for wrong aged friends is not good for children... But children exist in a world where grown up stuff is also available and interesting even if you don't get all the references and jokes or see disturbing things. Ideally there are trusted adults to chat with about the disturbing stuff and suggest listening to your discomfort as much as the curiosity and that you'll have plenty of time when you're older so no rush. It's ok to not finish the story or use the off button.

But yeah I grew up alongside kids who were either cloistered in kiddy content only or retreated completely after incidents that weren't handled well or just don't interact with things like the news because their main exposure is news as entertainment with outrage and dramatic presentation.

I've had to deliberately seek out newspapers and even then, be quite picky, to get news that isn't throwing it AT you.

In the same way, sometimes venturing out does mean people will trauma dump at random and learning to handle that without wanting to go live in a cave is tough but it is part of the human experience. Actually it's very much part of the childhood experience and if you didn't have supportive adults it's important to find supportive peers as you grow up to confide in. Keeping the world at bay only works for so long.

Carefully chosen grown up entertainment is incredibly cathartic compared to even very moving kids stuff because that's what it's made for: to do an emotional exorcism on grown up worries and fears. And yeah there's a learning curve to figuring out quality over titillation/shock factor and what your boundaries are but it's totally worth it. I have a lot of bitterness about my late teens early twenties arthouse film phase because there was a lot of dreck but there were also anchors that then helped me handle difficult, layered, situations or at least debrief a little in the aftermath.

Tbh i don't think making most, if not all, of the media you consume the kind that is aimed at kids is a good thing because I now know so many people in their 20s and 30s who can't grapple with adult concepts without some form of extreme discomfort about it that I don't encounter with people who are in their 40s or older....

Herb -- A scent that be relaxing to me

-> Ah, the scent a' the sea, though the strong scent'a cities we beach on can be enticing. The food's scent is so strong, it feels like it could feed a starving man three times without him having to eat a thing.

Seedling -- Something I want to start learning

-> Languages, there be so many across the sea, and it is nice to be able to tell yer victims what ye be doing. Especially those European languages, they do sound so nicely done when said correctly.

Cat -- Any pets?

-> There be a shark or two that have assisted the ship get through the waters that seem to enjoy me company. They go nameless, though the crew implore that I do, eventually.
