“Yes you are and Fin is already suss on the two of you” Velasco said sitting down at his desk opposite you. You glared at Bruno who just grinned at you.

“Honestly it’s like you want to get caught” Velasco smirked at him. Bruno just shrugged and went back to work. You quickly looked over your shoulder to Olivia’s office. She and Fin were talking about something thankfully with the door shut so they didn’t hear this whole thing. You and Bruno started dating only a month ago and you planned on keeping it a secret until you were ready to tell Liv. However Velasco has a habit of not knocking apparently and caught the two of you sharing a moment in the cribs after a particularly hard case.

In his defence, he doesn’t normally need to knock to go into the cribs.

“Bruno I swear to God” you felt his eyes on you again. You grabbed a stress ball you had on your desk, one that was kept there mostly for the boys to fidget with, and threw it straight at his head.

Luckily for Bruno he ducked the ball. Unluckily for you it happened to hit Detective Stabler. With an amused look on his face, Elliot bent down and grabbed the ball.

“Detectives” he tossed the ball at you.

“Sorry Stabler” you apologised as he headed towards Liv’s office. You waited until you heard the click of the door shutting before turning back to Bruno. “No sex for the rest of the week”

“WHAT?!”

“You heard me” you shrugged and turned back to your computer. Velasco let out a laugh and got up from his desk leaving a stunned Bruno, who just continued to stare at you.

“Your children are acting weird” Elliot said after he shut the door to Olivia’s office.

“What?”

“Your children” he point with his thumb back out to the bullpen “they are being weird”

“Bruno and y/n?” Fin asked

“Yeah”

“Don’t worry about them” Liv waved him off “They are ‘secretly dating’ but I don’t know who they are trying to fool. I think they are forgetting we’ve been detectives since they were in diapers” she used her fingers for the air quotes around secretly dating.

“They ain’t doing a good job of hiding it” Fin smirked “No one at this precinct is good at hiding feelings for there partners”

“We’re just waiting for them to hurry up and disclose. Carisi and 1PP are already aware, it’s in their files and I updated their emergency contact to be each other” Olivia said ignoring Fin’s comment.

“They’ll tell us when they are ready”

Headcannons for being in a poly!relationship with Joe Velasco, Mike Duarte & Terry Bruno

Tagging: @rosaliedepp You did this! It got too long for reblogs so I thought I would do everyone a favour and pop it behing a readmore.

Following on from this HC

I can literally imagine Mike sighing and watering these poor plants because Terry forget to all the time because of shifts. He would complain to the plants but then prune them when they are a bit wild. Terry is the one that repots them though when they get a little big.

Sleeping Arrangements:

Night time I imagine it's you and Joe in the middle, Mike on one side of you, face to face and Joe draped over your back. Terry always snuggles in with Joe because he's good at soothing him when he has nightmares or sleep paralysis.

Workplace:

So in work I think it's kinda an open secret. Everyone acts professional, they're cops they have to but there's always small gestures. I think Mike and you work in different divisions so you're not all in one place at one time unless a case crosses over. I think with Terry and Joe it's more noticeable, Terry will always reach out to Joe during a hard case, like a shoulder squeeze, or drops by his desk for a chat, even a quick hug in the locker room. Likewise Joe will make sure Terry eats as I think he gets hyper focus sometimes. If anyone is feels they haven't seen one of the others, they will drop by their desk to check in and make sure their ok and looking after themselves.

If there is an argument at home Terry is very good at being professional and will be cool and a little aloof. Joe will probably ignore Terry if the issue is with him unless he absolutely has to respond. Terry is very good at defusing situations so if Joe does get snappy he will give him space until he is ready.

I think Joe and Terry told Liv together, like we're in this relationship with Mike and reader. It doesn't effect or work but you have to know for HR.

With people making comments in a professional environment Mike would go for the throat. He would verbally eviscerate them, he is very protective of the three of the three of you and hates his business being blasted. Joe is more likely to get into a scuffle. Terry is more likely to ignore it. The only time he can’t ignore it is when you’re branded a slut for it. Then he’s getting in someone’s face. The one time Mike was called to deal with one of you in custody, he was very surprised to find Terry in the holding cell with an ice pack on his face because someone couldn’t keep their mouth shut. Mike had a word with the fella afterwards.

PDA:

I think PDA is very dependant on person so Mike’s not massive on PDA in general as he’s a very private person. He’s all about light touches, lingering in your proximity, buying drinks and giving you that smile. I think Mike genuinely relaxes when he’s round the three of you, even if you’re out. He laughs more, touches more. Terry’s sort of flipflops with PDA, he’s very intuitive so if he feels someone needs it he’ll willingly give it. If not, he’s happy to sit in his chair and laugh with the rest of you. Joe, I feel is hands on and it progresses the more he drinks. I think he uses touch as reassurance, (do you still want me, I’m here kind of thing) He’s hand on whoever’s at the bar’s lower back, kiss on the head as he drifts past one of you to go the bathroom, even playing pool he’s like let me show you how to line it up better. Terry and you enjoy that, Mike doesn’t need his pool game stepping up, he was hustling to make ends meet back in the day.

When it comes to anyone putting themselves in danger it plays out like this:

Mike will go through every possible eventuality with whichever one of you it is. He will try to deter at first but if they’re resolute, you bet his baby is gonna be as prepared as possible. He’s one running through UC identities with you, peppering with questions trying to catch you out. He’s also the one that makes sure the person has a weapon they can use on them at all times, he’s given every single one of you a push dagger just in case. When they are away on op he’s grumpy, short tempered and abrasive, constantly checking in with the superiors for updates.

Terry is the one that checks in on the emotional well being. He learns as much as he can about the op, the people who are watching your back and expresses how important the person is and what may happen of they get harmed. He usually uses Mike as the threat. When their away on op he busies himself as much as possible and tries his best to take care of the others as Mike will drink too much and Joe will spend a little too much time at the gym beating the shit out of people.

Joe will give whoever it is tips because he’s had the most UC experience up to date. He’ll have burner stowed away at a mutual location close to the target area in case shit does hit the fan. You have a code word that the others don’t know about in case things get a little dark. He will also be super clingy on the lead up. He suffers a lot when of the others goes away. He doesn’t sleep well, constantly asking Mike for updates. The other two in the relationship will take care of him, make sure he eats and pay him special attention.

"There's mi nieve~...did I say that right?"

She chuckled as she looked up from her book. He had agreed to meet her right in front of the Casita, and she was so excited, she didn't mind that he was a tad late.

"Close. Nieve means ice cream. You're looking for 'novia'. And YOU'RE my novio."

"Which is?"

"You already know."

"Doesn't mean I don't mind hearing it again~"

She rolled her eyes, and gently pushed his face away.

"Boyfriend. Happy?"

"Very. Now, you ready to go?"

"Yeah let's- oh wait, mierda, I forgot something! Do you wanna wait out here real quick or-"

He shook his head.

"Nonsense! I'd like to say hi to the family before we depart."

"Your funeral, bugs."

He chuckled as he walked inside, giving a little wave to the Casita's rippling tiles. She gave him a little pat before making her way upstairs, and he sighed as he watched her. They had been official for only two months now, and even then he had yet to work up the nerve to kiss her. He wanted to, surely he did, but how do you kiss a girl you cared about? When you knew you'd mess it up? Apparently his dreary demeanor was enough to catch the attention of Agustín, her father.

"Beckett! So nice of you to stop by!"

He liked her dad. Accident prone, but loveable, sweet. A lot like his own actually. He walked up to him as he sat at his piano, clearly getting ready to play it.

"Evening, señor. It's lovely to catch you before our date."

"It is, isn't it? Where are you taking my daughter this time?"

"I thought we'd watch a play in town, then go bug collecting!"

"Girls like that?"

Butted in Félix. He was a nice enough uncle, if a bit boisterous.

"Mirabel does. She finds them for me and I take notes. You should see her with beetles, she's lovely with them."

Félix leaned over the piano, shrugging.

"Can't say I relate. Pepa thunders when she sees spiders. Have to get Antonio to ask them to leave. I made a joke once about them paying rent, and apparently spiders don't believe in landlords. I dunno what to do with that information."

Beckett chuckled. This family was just interesting, you could never be bored.

"Speaking of-how is he? Is he still having fun with Terry?"

"Yeah he likes him, but giving the kid a tarantula- warning would be nice next time."

He shrugged, not really regretting it.

"Sorry, couldn't help myself. He's an adorable lad, you ought to be proud."

"Oh I am. Just like I'm proud that I got YOU two together! Got Mira a little smoochy buddy."

He wrapped around him as he joked, only stopping when Beckett shrugged.

"Oh we don't do that."

"What do you mean?"

"We uh. Don't kiss."

Félix and Agustín shared a glance at each other, then at him.

"You're not just saying that because Agustín is right here?"

"No. I mean I've kissed her head, but I don't think that counts."

Agustín adjusted the notes on the piano, mostly to try to formulate his thoughts.

"I mean, I'm certainly not complaining. But two months is a bit of a wait, can't say I expected that. It'll come though, often times out of nowhere."

"Is it like, purity promise thing? Because let me tell you, shit like that gets you HIM."

Félix pointed to Bruno upstairs, who was holding a piece of cheese in his mouth, and letting one of his rats snag a piece. He noticed them, giving a wave. Beckett gave him a bit of a smile as he waved back.

"No no, no purity pledge. I WANT to kiss her, we just. Haven't found the right moment, I suppose. I still get nervous holding her hand. Even watching her walk down those steps makes my stomach fill up with butterflies."

The three (four if you include Bruno) watched as she made her way down the steps, and approach them.

"Sorry I took so long-listen, I had a question."

"Of course."

"When do I get to clap them cheeks?"

You could imagine the horror on not just his face. But her father's. Félix was trying not to snort into his hand, but he was failing, damn near close to wheezing. Beckett felt his voice crack in the middle of his response.

"I'm s-sorry lass, I don't think I heard you right."

"No, you did. When do I get to hit that, because you're straight up supplying a bakery with those kinda buns."

He felt damn near faint. Sure, he wasn't OPPOSED to intimacy, but so soon? And so crass? And in front of her FAMILY? He gulped a bit louder than he meant to, and was about to come up with SOME response, when-

"CAMILO! STOP EMBARRASSING ME!"

Mirabel was somehow both upstairs, and right in front of him. Félix lost it, laughing his ass off and using Agustín to keep himself from passing out.

"Okay- that was FUNNY, mijo, I'll give you that!"

Camilo was suddenly in front of him, shrugging.

"Worth a shot."

Beckett and Agustín sighed in relief. Mirabel (the real one) walked down the steps, a box in her hands.

"Imma kill you, Camilo."

Agustín, ever the goofy dad, loudly played 'dun dun dunn' on the piano, much to everyones annoyance. Camilo shrugged, clearly shameless.

"Someone had to say it. Have a nice date, Mira."

He yelped a bit as Camilo pinched his ass, before leaving, with Félix following him, most likely to go off and tell Pepa. Mirabel groaned, before handing him the box.

"Here. It was SUPPOSED to be a two month anniversary gift, but now its an apology gift."

He took off the ribbon from the box, and looked at what was inside. It was a shirt a lot like Bruno's, only blue, with what felt like millions of bugs embroidered onto it. Beetles, spiders, roaches, praying mantis, with golden butterflies being the only repetitive pattern. He stared at it in awe, unsure of what to say.

"You...made this...for me?"

"Oh yeah- pumped a lot of hours into this bad boy. I know it's not perfect, messed up on the wings on some of them, but-!"

He cut her off in order to drop the box, and immediately go for a hug. He squeezed her, and squeezed her tightly. His cheeks were aflame from how soft she felt in his arms. He hugged her occasionally, but this was a bit much, even for his affectionate ass. He pulled away after a second, clearing his throat.

"I'm. Sorry I uhm. Don't know what came over me."

She readjusted her glasses, though he was pretty sure she was just doing it to have something to fidget with. Her cheeks were so red and rosey, bumblebees would mistake them for roses.

"I'll take that as a 'I'm totally not disappointed in it'. And I'll take that. You wanna try it on?"

"YES."

Was that a bit too excited of a response? Maybe. But that didn't matter. He handed her the new clothing item, before taking off his shirt, and reaching for it back. Only she was. Staring at him.

"Uh...Beckett?"

"Yes?"

"This is a ruana. It goes OVER your shirts. It's like a coat."

"Oh. Apologies. I'll just put it back on-"

"Well now hold on, maybe its a new fashion statement."

"Mirabel."

Agustín butted in, his brow raised as he warned her to stay appropriate. She shrugged, a sort of 'joking' grin on her face.

"What? Only Camilo gets to be funny around here? Here."

He put his shirt back on, then put on the ruana. He gestured to himself wildly, tempted to jump up and down like a child.

"I LOVE it!! It's LOVELY! And so comfy-I'm never taking this off."

"At least to wash it, right?"

"You...might have to teach me how to was this."

She rolled her eyes at him as she grabbed his hand (her hand was so TINY), pulling out of the room.

"We'll see you tonight, Pa!"

"Be safe, mija! Te amo!"

He hadn't been this excited for a date since their last date, honestly.

Whatever COULD go wrong, did. First of all, the play was canceled due to heavy rain (Pepa could control her weather, but stopping other weather? Different situation), and it was so cold out, Beckett thought they'd be able to find no bugs. At least, not without ruining his new clothes. It was why it was sweet of him, to offer to wait out the rain at his house. He let her in, and shut the door behind them. They were both dripping wet, which sucked, she had picked out a cute sun dress and everything.

"Here, follow me, I have some towels in my room."

She followed, and gently whistled at his digs. It was...busy. Full of sketches and papers, lots of books, and a shelf full of bugs in tanks and jars. She accepted the towel, drying herself just enough to study the bugs comfortably.

"Wow. You REALLY like bugs."

"You should see my collection back at home! Far more impressive than these. And these are just for studying, I plan on letting them go once my reports are finished."

He tried to dry his hair off, making it just a big, fluffy mess. It was long, more than enough to cover his eyes when it was like this. She chuckled, pushing it back for him.

"Is that ALL you do? Just write about bugs?"

"For work, yes. Besides, I like it. Bugs are fascinating. Especially her."

He nodded to the butterfly in the jar, and she recognized it immediately. The same one that landed on her, only two short months ago.

"Aw, you kept it?"

"Course. She's incredible! I called my associates, they have no clue what species she is. I'm planning on taking her home with me. Until then, Miraposa is just company."

The butterfly was fluttering about in the glass, as if it had somewhere to go. She lightly tapped the jar, before another bug caught her eye.

"Oh what's this one?"

"Oh that's peaches, she's my orchid mantis. A little sassy, but with looks like those, she could afford to be. Would you like to hold her?"

She shouldn't. But simultaneously she REALLY wanted to, for some reason. She nodded, and he gestured for her to sit down. Once she sat on his bed (that smelled like dirt and blackberries), he carefully walked over to her, creature in hand. He ever so delicately placed her in her hand, before sitting next to her.

"Woah. She's SO pretty."

"Isn't she? Fun fact- this little girl can eat birds! I've seen it, she's as pretty as she is bloodthirsty. She reminds me of your oldest sister. She scares me."

"The bug, or Isa?"

"Yes."

That made her chuckle, gently shaking her head as she studied the bug. It was curious, trying to crawl and climb all over her.

"She trying to eat me?"

"I wanna say no, but maybe. I didn't feed her before I left. You wanna help me?"

"I absolutely wanna feed this queen."

He carefully took the bug from him, placing her back in the tank. It didn't matter what insects he was with, his touch was as delicate as any touch could be. He dug into his closet, and pulled out a container of crickets. It took a bit of work so the bugs wouldn't spill everywhere, but eventually she managed to get three in the tank, and watched as Peaches just brutally devoured them.

"Beautiful."

"In a messed up sort of way, it is?"

"...i uhm...meant you, actually."

She averted her gaze out of nerves. He was goofy, a bit of a nerd, but he just had random moments of being a total prince charming.

"Prettier than her?"

"Hey I live with her, if I say it out loud, I'll never hear the end of it."

She chuckled as she bumped him a bit with her hips.

"Eres tonto. I like you."

"I'm sure tonto is insult, but you saying you like me makes up for it."

He reached over to sort of help the towel against her hair, and their eyes met. It was only a second, before he cleared his throat, and went into his closet.

"Could you sit down for me, one more time?"

"Sure, what for?"

She sat down, and yet again, he sat next to her, something in his hands.

"You gave me something, I want you to have something."

He put a really puffy, really girly, pink bow into her hands. It definitely wasn't her style, but she wasn't gonna be rude, so she smiled.

"Uh, thanks. It's cute."

"I know it doesn't look much. But...it was my mom's."

Wow that made her feel like a bitch. She tried to put it back into his hands.

"Oh I can't take that- it's been like two months, it's a bit soon-"

"Says the girl who made me this. Look, my dad was so awkward with my mom, he genuinely thought this was a pretty gift. He was awkward with her. I'm awkward with you. I don't know what to do or what to say half the time I'm with you, I just know it's good and weird and I just-"

She didn't know why she had to do it. She just knew she had to grab him by his stupid ruana, and press his stupid lips on hers. It lasted a second at the most, and the second she pulled away, he just. Stared at her. His eyes were wide, his cheeks were on fire, and he just looked like a deer in the headlights. Oh no. Oh no she fucked it up, she moved way too fast for him.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry, you were just talking and you were so animated and I was getting all worked up and I just-"

"My turn."

He placed his hands right on her thighs, and just fucking. Leaned into her. He was kissing HER. After she kissed HIM. Their first kiss. In his room. Home alone. With the rain beating against the window. That kiss lasted only slightly longer, but not by much. Now they were just staring at each other again, confused and totally not knowing what to do.

"I...I'm not gonna lie, not how I expected my first to go."

"Neither did I. You're...way more complicated than a bug."

God that was so fucking dumb. How could she not hold his stupid face, and kiss him again? And of course he had to keep things even, kissing HER again. She had to take in between...who knows how many kisses to get air. Even then, he kept his nose against hers, as if he ready for another.

"You know it's. Gonna be a bit before the rain lets up. Can I uh...stay till then?"

"Only if you don't mind me not being able to leave you alone, Miraposa."

"If you're cheating on me with that butterfly, imma punch you."

His eyes wouldn't leave hers. He kept looking for...something. She didn't know what it was. Just that he did, and when he did, he cupped her face with one of his hands.

"I love you."

Suffice to say, they had many 'first kisses'.

"You were gone for so long! We're so glad he still brought you home."

"Course he would, mami, Beckett isn't like that. Imma head to bed now, that cool?"

"Course mija. Buenas noches."

Mirabel excused herself to her room, before, the inevitable happened. There was a knock on her door, and sure enough, it was not only her sisters, but her cousins (save for Antonio) and Mariano. The second the door shut, Luisa was ON IT.

"WHY DID YOU COME HOME SO LATE? WHAT HAPPENED?!"

"Duh, Luisa, clearly they did gross stuff."

"Camilo, don't scare her! Come on sis, you're hiding something."

Mirabel motioned for all of them to stop, about to hang her bag in her closet.

"Nothing happened. It was just raining, he took me to his place, I fed his bugs...THEN I KISSED THE SHIT OUTTA THAT GUY!!!"

She threw her bag onto the ground as she screamed, and immediately they all whooped and hollored (save for Dolores, obviously) for her.

"Damn fucking RIGHT you kissed that fucking bun boy! GET IT CUZ."

"YEAH I KISSED HIM. BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF HIM EVEN."

Apparently the energy was so infectious, Isabela grabbed a chair from the room, and just SLAMMED it onto the fucking floor, shattering it with strength that scared even Luisa.

"LET'S BURN THIS PLACE TO THE GROUND!!!!"

Upon the energy dipping, she looked around at the eyes, chuckling awkwardly.

"Too much?"

"A LITTLE, but you know what, loving the energy, and I'm living for the support- oh my god they're crying already."

Mariano accepted the back crushing hug from Luisa as they both cried, hearts clearly full of love for her.

Man-tis was a good ass day.
