Had such high hopes just didn't happen, this be number 66 Mexican restaurant to open Downriver. Competition is strong, most have come from Sw Detroit via Jalisco Mexico. Owner trying to take credit from her Grandmother Amigo's place we visited many dozens of times in Southgate. This place pure Tex Mex with prices 30 percent higher than other places Downriver. Tacos 3 Bucks each and really small, going price 2 bucks each 90 percent places Downriver. The traditional corn tortillas smallest money can buy. The owner or cashier don't speak Spanish, didn't understand Campachano the cook did. He did a good job making 3 Campachano Tacos which cost 12 bucks with Beans n Rice . Worst Bland Zero Flavor Charro Beans ever eaten. The owner told me NO I know Charro Beans, hey lady I been eating these 60 year's Sw Detroit and Downriver your's TERRIBLE. Great Charro Beans Camino Real, Los Charros, La Salsa, El Bigotes and many more. Wife had a Double Chicken Botona was Tinga Style means Shredded , good mix just again Zero Flavor to the Chicken. The real kicker after paying $36 bucks and leaving 5 Bucks in tip jar had to pay 50 cent for Sour Cream, never ever thousands of restaurants has a place done this. So you have truly earned a 1 star review. Absolutely worse Mexican food place to open Downriver in the last decade. I saw her the day I paid the rent (THE 2ND) she said nothing about oh well its the second did you include the $30 late fee. ON THE SECOND! Which is crazy enough. Then the second thing I asked her today when I walked in, First for a pen then a signed and dated copy of the check. I am adamant about getting a signed and dated copy because this same woman has placed I incorrect late fees and court cost on my account before which have had to be removed. She is always outlandish and rude. In asking her questions about why the ledger was wrong she said I was playing word games with her. The manager is never in the office she never calls you back when a message is left. We have been asking to break our lease since having to go to court about a window their lawn company broke and then tried to charge us for months later. This office is run like a crooked organization. This is thee hands down most stressful situation I have ever experienced. They also know I'm pregnant and have the whole time and do not care about my health or safety what so ever. Do not ever live here if you care about your life. We moved here thinking it would be a great option to save money before buying a house now all I want to do is never see what is supposed to be my home again. All this is not even including the conversation we had with Rita in maintenance who told me the company is having pier work down to our building and that I just have to suffer through the use or kerosene heaters and their Co2 burn-off. I had the worst headache of my life yesterday to the point that I stayed out all day today for my safety. This place is the worst! What happened inside dining room CLOSED 26 months now. A throw together with Duct Tape and various wood panel. A fortress with sliding doors and baby monitor to order from. A disgrace to all Downriver Restaurant just close the door. 15 bucks 3 Sushi Rolls terrible mushy old rice, Wasabi old and Crumbled. Not making this up, use to love this place always had great Sushi. The Good I received a gift card a few months ago. Great news the Biscuit's n Gravy still fantastic nothing changed along with pads of real Butter n Clove Honey Smashed together to top Biscuits. You'll only understand this tradition if you Hillbilly like me. The Banana Walnut Bread still faboulus. The Bad and Worse you gotta Love it folks. I ask host to sit by window for natural sunlight you know Food photos much better. She took us first table adjoining the other dining area like 4 steps away. Old Hag lady our waitress say no way we not working that side BOO. I order the mega Whole Hog Breakfast on the menu damn they changed the Sausage Patties n Links no more great Flavor. My Potatoes Cold, wife ordered Chicken terrible look at photo and Broccoli Cold like just came outta fridge. So 30 bucks sounds good except I ask our waitress about discounts on site's around the web, she said non we take. A few minutes later she called Manager over to assure us NO DISCOUNT available unless you join our site Yea Right. Our waitress was real short with us both. I go to check out see young hostess show her a couple photos. The cashier ask how was everything, told her about rude waitress and no discount from anywhere. I said I'm old and a Veteran n AAA member you Manager just told me no. Whoa wait a minute she says we offer 10 percent Veterans discount with I'd, yes show my card saved 3 Bucks. So One star for Cashier n Hostess and One star Biscuit's n Gravy that's it Funk them last visit ever. What happened such a great experience first visit 4 more ago. Still really great Cornmeal Catfish n Hush puppies. Such a shame that's it. Her Chicken Fingers now the size of pretzel sticks tough to eat and the fries had to been setting from last night. How can a company survive, well they won't I assure you this location won't last. So Sad been 6 year's since last visit, this be the exact reason I hate chains. 40 year's ago we Loved some Chili's Baby Back Ribs n Burgers. Place has went to hell you gotta hear my story, gonna send to corporate also. Arrive at half time Michigan and Michigan State Football game. So strange the place was almost empty not a soul at the bar. They have a hostess tell me 10 to 15 minutes for a table, ok no biggie was only 2 minutes. We sat in Bar area and only 2 other tables had diners. Our great waitress said we got one cook and the manager helping in kitchen. Note 3 waitress, one host and 2 in kitchen, so 6 total employees. Ordered a Slab of Baby Backs and a couple of the new big mouth Burgers that got us in the door. So 45 minutes to receive order with a total of 6 occupied tables in restaurant. They burnt da Burgers and the Ribs, like what the manager doing in the kitchen. Now the shocker at like 2 pm on a Saturday the manager instruction to host tell everyone who enters the wait for a table 45 minutes plus. Yeah just what she did turned away at least 30 hungry folks. Step one FIRE the manager, close the location down until you have enough worker's.
