Terrestrial Kids and what their favorite modern music would be

Given that Terri Starstrike takes place in an alternate retrofuturistic timeline, here are some of the artists they would stan if they lived in our time.

Terrina: She would stan Chloe x Halle, SZA, and Beyonce. Her comfort music would include some 2000s/90s RnB, and especially some of Brandy's old music (Never Say Never and Full Moon). In addition to being an R&B girl, she would also be a major kpop stan: her favorite kpop groups would be NCT 127, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, Red Velvet, and ATEEZ.

Bailynn: No doubt. She would be a HUGE Swiftie!! Her favorite albums from Taylor Swift would be 1989, Midnights and Lover. But she would also like Beyonce, Alicia Keys, and Usher.

Cassie: Def Taylor Swift and MARINA, with a little bit of Lana Del Rey and BOYGENIUS. Emotionally attached to 'Love Story' and 'All Too Well'.

Izzy: They don't have a particular favorite, but they're also obsessed with Taylor Swift, and they share a Swiftie "cult" with Bailynn and Cassie. They also listen to a lot of hyperpop and niche electropop.

Sprite: Victoria Monet, Anitta, Cardi B, Karol G, and Jarina De Marco (Jarina is also Dominican like Sprite, so she's obsessed) Listens to a lot of reggaeton, salsa, and a lit bit of hip hop. Favorite song would be 'I Like It' by Cardi B or 'Gasolina' by Daddy Yankee.

Jack: He's trying out all kinds of music. He doesn't have a favorite artist in particular, but he would develop a love for 90s rock and pop.

Khadija: OBSESSED WITH BEYONCE!! She would be a ride-or-die member of the Beyhive, and her favorite artists also include PinkPanthress, Nemahsis (a palestinian indie artist) and Madison Beer. Life Support from the latter is one of her comfort albums, alongside B'Day and Lemonade from Queen Bey.

Inicialmente vou fazer a tabela apenas com personagens de KOF 96. Depois, se achar conveniente, quem sabe não acrescente personagens de outros jogos da série também.

Dizem que quando a gente faz um post, sempre existe algo por trás.

Tem gente que se diz herói ou bandido, mas é tudo pose. É tudo balela particular pra chamar a atenção. Que mundo triste devem viver essas pessoas tão diferentes que pra elas ou eles tudo é se achar! É motivo pra provocar, fazer escândalo e tudo...absolutamente tudo é uma resposta ou fazer aquilo por provocação.

Certamente é porque se sente muito fora do contexto, diferente dos demais, e tudo ou todos é provocação. Se sente provocada ou provocado absolutamente por tudo e por todos. Nada, nem ninguém pode ser natural porque o que fazemos por naturalidade é tudo sinônimo de viver num mundo de se achar ou não ou se achar perante aos outros. Pra pessoas diferentes de nós tudo é sinônimo de provocação.

Triste?! Eu não diria tanto, pois graças a Deus não vivo nesse mundo. Tenho meus defeitos e problemas, todo mundo tem! Felizmente ou infelizmente, nunca fui capaz de entender ou viver esse drama, pois vivo outros que são meus. Todo mundo é assim, todo mundo tem problemas e soluções. A vida não é só festa, mas também não é só trabalho árduo! E isso todo mundo concorda!

Sabe como funcionam espelhos e a síndrome do super-herói?

A síndrome do super-herói é caracterizada por achar que não precisa de ajuda, tudo para encobrir um trauma particular e interior e talvez para provar a si mesma ou a si mesmo que é uma pessoa livre de problemas, que não precisa de ajuda de ninguém.

TODOS NÓS PRECISAMOS DE AJUDA!

E quem vive isso simplesmente sabe. Não aceita espelhos invertidos de pessoas que vivem dizendo ou afirmando: "VOCÊ" PRECISA DE AJUDA!

Soa sempre como se, quem precisa de ajuda vive cobrando isso dos outros como uma desculpa, uma farsa muito bem forjada, pra esconder que quem não vive isso na pele é ela ou ele...

Alguns dizem VOCÊ PRECISA DE AJUDA pra ajudar quem realmente precisa! Quem talvez não admita que não vive isso perante a Deus ou aos outros.

ATENÇÃO, ISSO É FATO!

O grande problema, principalmente de países como o Brasil e Américas, é que isso sempre toma um escopo adequado à cultura particular de uma pequena cidade. Aí passa por cima de Deus, das autoridades, do direito das outras pessoas como ser humano e acaba se perdendo. Acaba perdendo a própria sanidade, os próprios amigos, as únicas companhias que teve um dia, perde a família, passa por cima do crime como se fosse o rei ou a rainha da máfia e infelizmente com isso acaba perdendo o respeito de tudo e de todos também. A começar pela própria favela, tráfico, facções e por aí vai.

A ilusão desse tipo de gente talvez sempre seja: SE SALVAR! "SAVE ME, BUT HOW DO YOU WANT TO BE SAVED IF YOU SAY I NEEDN'T TO BE SAVED?!"

EVERYONE OF US NEED HELP! EVERYONE OF US NEED TO BE SAVED SOMETIMES!

Heroes not always use cape ou claim for themselves: We need superpowers!

Some people claim to want to have superpowers, but it's only to cover a weakness that they don't need help or want to be superior to everyone in any way.

Thankfully, I never understood people that born this way. I don't know if this is good or evil, but I believe trully that is neutral. It's only a matter of born, feel, change if you want, and if you really understand that different kinds of persons can live together being happy, so try to understand different views is not always a simple try to understand and live happy together. It's more than a simple judgement or general advice, general preaching.

E quando a Andressa falou de pessoas figuronas, tipo aquele cara baixinho que era bem tímido e discreto, ou aquele grandão maluco que gaguejava toda hora em que ficava nervoso e fazia coisas que todo mundo duvidava, ou aquele outro que se fazia de normal mas dava a entender claramente que escondia alguma coisa. Aquele outro caliente que parecia um pouco comigo, ou então aquele que chegava no maior papo porém ela fugiu dele porque só ficava naqueles papos de perguntar região ou o que ela fazia da vida, MEEEEEEUUUU...é como diria a Lais quando ficava com aquela cara de loja! Desculpa o termo, Lalá; mas enfim...

ELES EXISTEM !!! E ESTAVAM ENTRE NÓS !!!

Certa vez o Joelmir comentou que existiam aliens trabalhando conosco no Pareto também, pra mim tomar cuidado com isso.

Pessoal, tudo isso não faz o mínimo sentido se estamos de consciência limpa.

Na verdade faz sentido se o que você quiser entender por conta própria for de consciência limpa e certo pra vc. Bonito, não?! É a coisa mais simples do mundo: Ser simples!

Agora, na moral, acreditar ou não acreditar, escrever um livro sobre suas aspirações ou não, EU NUNCA ENTENDI! SÃO COISAS DE PESSOAS DIFERENTES DE NÓS...

Ser sincera (o) ou não ser nunca foi drama pra mim ou alguns.

Minha intenção não é passar nada ruim aqui. Só quando é preciso, às vezes pode levar a algo bom.

Estou tendo alguns problemas por conta da viagem pro Japão novamente. Tanto no campo profissional como no pessoal, em todos os campos da vida pra ser mais exato e óbvio.

Acredito que por causa desses problemas constantes, mas não insolúveis ou irresolvíveis, ou até mesmo impossíveis de se conviver junto a eles, como sempre diz meu irmão caçula, ainda acredito que vou terminar a série "Biomorphosis" quando estiver lá.

Não sei por que, algo no fundo me diz isso todos os dias. É muito complicado por causa dos problemas de saúde que tive e por começar a série cedinho demais! Era pra começar bem mais tarde, uns anos depois, porém se tá servindo como uma prévia canon (oficial), agradecemos o prestígio e carinho de vcs todos os dias.

Se alguém leva a mal ou na ofensa tudo o que é dito aqui, leva pro lado pessoal, se ofende e pensa que tudo é uma resposta ou provocação, que pena que pessoas assim ainda habitem plataformas de rede sociais. Não é e nunca foi essa a nossa intenção, mas uma pena que algumas pessoas gostem de estar em rede social pra se ofenderem, levarem tudo como uma resposta maligna e ofensiva, sendo que tudo o que fazemos é sempre para agradar a todos os nossos leitores. Que pena, que alguns preferem viver enxergando por esse lado, sempre. Não importa qual trabalho for, feito por quem seja. Não é julgando, nem mesmo condenando, apenas sendo realista.

"Ninguém" pode mexer com eles, provocá-los...cada gesto é uma resposta ou uma vingança. Vindas deles mesmos. "Ninguém" pode cumprimentá-los, ou simplesmente ignorar. Porque cada gesto, cada ação é um ato de vingança ou resposta, que só vem nada mais, nada menos da mente dos próprios excluídos ou minoria. Nenhuma delas é realmente poderosa ou importante perante a sua vida, que somente vc pode fazer por si só. Felizmente ou não, o mundo sempre foi mesmo em termos de profundidade. E assim sempre será. Não quanto às mudanças, sim quanto a essa questão de existência. E tem gente que acredita que continua depois de morrer, enfim...não sei como é estar morto (acredito ter estado esses tempos atrás por algumas horas, sem brincadeira). Mas sei que os mortos dizem que a consciência, o poder de decisão, essa mente consciente continua depois da morte. Fato!? Não sei...

Nós temos na outra ponta pessoas do ramo policial trabalhando junto com esse tipo de gente escrota e ridícula! Fazem a lei por reprimir mesmo! Tudo é resposta ou vingança, ou movimento político pra assassinar alguém. É tudo uma "seriedade/palhaçada" forjada em parte pelo governo mundial e alguns meios de comunicação (poucas pessoas) que insistem em seus traumas de infância particulares e pessoais pra tornar o mundo do jeito que eles bem entenderem. Por tornar o mundo ou algum país, estado, um lugar pior para se viver. Dominado pelas adultices e criancices dessa minoria (os que são ruins). It's turned out to be a great combination of deep album cuts, some lesser-known bonus tracks and remixes, as well as some brand new nuggets you can and should add to your collection! Of course I had to give you some Guru, and we start the episode with a cover version of a record that samples another musical giant, the recently and sadly departed Ahmad Jamal.

Elzhi & Will Sessions : The World Is Yours

RIP to the great Ahmad Jamal, the legendary pianist who was famously sampled on the original "The World Is Yours" on the classic Nas "Illmatic" LP. As we've already played that on the podcast, we instead turn to the excellent re-imagining of that album by the all-Detroit combination of the band Will Sessions and the gifted MC Elzhi. It's always interesting when a musician is sampled by a Hip-Hop producer, and then that production later remade by other live musicians - bringing things full circle.

The Quarter Inch Kings : I'm No Comeback

As part of the Beat Tape Project, Toronto's Quarter Inch Kings channel some soulful flavour on this instrumental from "The AZ Beat Tape" - one that I could very well hear the Brooklyn Legend on.

Masta Ace & Marco Polo : Masta Polo

I was almost going to describe Marco Polo as one of the new generation of producers, but then I realised - it's been eighteen years! Still fresh, yet a veteran, he combines with a legend from the Juice Crew, Brooklyn's Masta Ace, for some classy 21st century boom-bap. You need to find the Deluxe edition of the Polo-produced "A Breukelen Story" album to get this one, and it's well worth the effort.

Terri Walker ft. Ty : OK

One of the finest soul singers these isles have ever produced, though an underappreciated one, Terri Walker has always shown love to the home team, with this track being a great example. The Nottingham stalwart Joe Buhdha is behind the boards, and the late London don TY warms up the mic before Ms Walker strides over the instrumentation. You might know her first few LPs, but definitely check for the later stuff, such as the EP this track was release on, "Joe Buhdha Presents Breakout". RIP Ty, live long Terri Walker.

Gang Starr : 2 Deep (City Lick Mix)

This is one of my earliest Hip-Hop 12" purchases, and a version of the Gang Starr classic deep single that I had to grow into! The UK's Dodge City Productions were, in retrospect, a perfect choice to take on remix duties here, a group well-steeped in the jazz that Gang Starr had helped pioneer as part of Hip-Hop. The late great Guru is in fine form, on his grown man business over all three verses - starting closer to battle mode and then weaving in his message. Apparently a Europe-only release, this is a worthy version to stand next to the original from the "Daily Operation" LP.

Curren$y : Fortune 500

This is clearly an anthem for LLC Twitter, with one long verse about getting that cash, and the outro showing Curren$y quizzing the next generation. The brand new "For Motivational Use Only" LP is another in the set of releases where Curren$y links up with a single producer to build a cohesive whole - in this case, the veteran Jermaine Dupri. I'd be lying if I said it was a collaboration that I was thinking about, but it works!

Medline : Payé Entièrement

Sound familiar? If you didn't guess from the title, this is a wicked instrumental cover of the classic "Paid In Full" by Eric B & Rakim that just cannot be denied. You can head straight over to Bandcamp to get the digital version as a bonus cut on the "Je Sais Que Tu As De L'​Â​me" release (put that into Google Translate if you don't speak French) - really, an essential pickup in my opinion.

Knaladeus : Lose Or Win

Not in terms of complexity as such, but in terms of tone, does Knaladeus here remind you of Black Thought at all? Either way, self-produced dopeness with quality songwriting from this artist out of Florida, one of the early tracks on his 2018 "Letters To You" album. His heartfelt lyrics on top of that beat are already a great blend, but the cherry is provided by DJ Stranger's cuts, drawing from the lyrics of Guru - once I heard those, this track was a lock for this episode.

Onra : 1-4 TONI

If you like a track with instructions (think "Jump Around", or hell, even "The Time Warp"), then this is up your street. That said, if you weren't already nodding your head to this one, you might want to clear your ears out first! Nice beat by the man from Paris, a 2018 track that went unreleased until Valentine's Day this year.

Superbad Solace : Throwing Fits

One for the Lo heads, from one of the foremost representatives currently recording! Solace has done it again with his "Sol Controller 3" project, and this track dedicated to the art of getting fresh is a personal favourite. The references to the Ralph Lauren brand and lifestyle are numerous, but as Solace points out, "you can buy gear, but you can't buy style"! The beat by Mono en Stereo makes you feel like you need to be posing on a yacht for a catalogue somewhere :)

Panama Gat : So Lonely

This man has a spectacular MC name, though it feels a little wrong to point it out when the subject of his song on this episode is so serious. It's raw at times, but that's often how it goes when you're expressing real emotion. On the production front, the soul-sampling beat reminds you of the work of Kanye West and Just Blaze around the same era, but it's not a bite in any way. I'm not sure who put it together, but my guess is 9th Wonder, as this is part of the Justus League "Just Us, Vol. 6" mixtape.

Leavv : Within

A little of that Chillhop flavour for you, with Leavv coming from Germany but this track coming from some kind of dreamland where even the passing clouds come with a bumping drum accompaniment. Find this on the "Chillhop Essentials - Fall 2017" collection, which even now is available as a "name your price" release on Bandcamp!

Ilajide : Boom Shakalak

I'd almost forgotten this track from "#0414917"! The programming of this beat by one of Detroit's finest is on a half-time vibe which makes it feel much slower than the 100bpm than it measures at, and he works that by keeping his flow on the mic downtempo too.

Tha Chill ft. Kokane : RNO

Part of the respected Compton's Most Wanted, Tha Chill missed out on featuring on two of the group's LPs due to legal troubles, but bounced back from them and not only reunited with the crew but has a solid set of solo releases to his name. This track is from the 2020 "Fohead" LP, and I think may be self-produced - the instrumental embodies his name, with it being a little dark and cold, and moderately uptempo without being hectic. On the mic he's joined by another "if you know, you know" west coast legend, Pomona's Kokane, an artist well worth exploring in his own right.

Sepalot ft. Blu : Surrender

Rough, angular, lurching electronic rawness! Heading back over to Germany (Munich, to be precise), we pick up this B-side from the 2008 "She Likes Me" 12", loaded with synths and disembodied yells. It's a challenging background for an MC, but Blu, who you might know for considerably more gentle material, handles it with no problem at all.

Erick Sermon ft. MC Lyte and Rah Digga : Tell Me (If You Don't Feel Me)

Erick Sermon is a respected MC in his own right, but part of his production greatness is in knowing when to draft in even more firepower, as he does here on the 2002 "React" album! Two different generations (in terms of career period, if not age) combine to burn up the guest features here, with Brooklynite MC Lyte and Newark's Rah Digga bringing it home over Erick's beat, which very much has the flavour of the era.

Dâm-Funk : The Flow

The "STFU II" EP is - relatively speaking - a chilled collection for the Pasadena modern funk legend. This track has clean, gliding keyboard pads, but also the right weight of drums and synth bass, plus the tempo, to allow you to dance to it if that's how you feel. Dâm-Funk has been building up a very respectable discography since his 2008 debut single - take some time to explore it if you haven't already.

DJ Quik ft. Ludacris : Spur Of The Moment / Pacific Coast Remix

This might not be the most progressive track in the world, but it sounds absolutely fantastic, still. A standout on 2005's "Trauma" album, in shows how skilled DJ Quik is not just as a producer (and MC), but also as a mixer/engineer. The sunshiney vibes pour out of this one, and Ludacris, who my Twitch crowd all seem to agree is an underrated MC, hits the mark perfectly as a guest. This track seems to have a different title depending on whether you have the CD or vinyl of the album, but the only difference between them is how you rewind it to play it again once it fades out!

Rovigo, al Teatro Sociale torna con grande sorpresa “Se devi dire una bugia dilla grossa”.   La Stagione di Prosa del Teatro Sociale, prosegue venerdì 13 gennaio alle 21, con “Se devi dire una bugia dilla grossa”, cavallo di battaglia della Ditta Johnny Dorelli, Paola Quattrini e Gloria Guida, torna sul palco dopo 30 anni dalla prima rappresentazione del 1986. La solida struttura comica di questa commedia - soggetto originale di Ray Cooney -, che ha fatto il giro del mondo e che lo stesso Garinei ha portato in scena con enorme successo, è un grande ritorno per i palcoscenici italiani dopo l’ultima edizione del 2000 con Gianfranco Jannuzzo, Quattrini e Fabio Testi. L’allestimento di questa nuova produzione è ispirato all’originale della ditta Garinei&Giovannini con i repentini cambi di scena che, di volta in volta, rappresentano la Hall dell’Albergo e le due camere da letto. Protagonisti il Ministro di Governo De Mitri, sposato con Natalia, che vorrebbe intrattenere relazioni extra coniugali con la bellissima Susanna Rolandi, membro femminile del governo dell’opposizione.
