     ❝ HAHA. I figured that it would be better to savour the flavour by sucking on but you do have a point. It’s going to take me forever to finish this so I guess I better make use of my teeth ! ❞ As usual, Edna was always finding faults in his actions but that was just Edna being Edna. Plus, she did sometimes manage to make a fair point so there was usually no reason to retort against her words. On the otherhand though, it sure was easy for Mikleo to be provoked by her, regardless of the point she was making.

     ❝ You should give this a try though ! I mean, sure it doesn’t look all that appetizing but you can’t judge a book by its cover, right ?❞

While she wasn't one to intentionally admit having prepared gifts for the others, so Edna had intended to wait for Mikleo to react to her simply being there, but growing impatient she proceeded to poke his side before handing--more like using the box to bop the other seraphim on the head--a box of chocolates. "Lailah talked me into trying out making chocolates for this day and there were some left over so here, have this Meebo. Happy Valentine's Day."

Edna always had the oddest ways of showing affection. Despite their bickering here and there, they could click rather well, and really understand one another. She would try to be subtle about her gestures, act as if she wasn’t doing it as an act of kindness, or that she even cared for him, but he knew otherwise. There is a tug at his lips, and a small smile comes along. While there had been a bop to his head, and a small ‘ Edna, hey! ’ in response, things had calmed down, and the water seraph is pleased with the gift.  It’s taken into one hand, while the other goes to his hip. 

“You sure that’s all?- I could make you a frappe in a bit, but I suppose if you don’t want anything out of this... ” His voice trails off. A good back and forth here.

“Thanks, Edna.

Happy Valentine’s.”

          in truth, he expects more of an outburst from her. not this quiet acceptance. some part of him wanted her to be angry at him for abandoning her for all these years. it was enough that he’d not deigned to return home when he’d still had control of himself as a malak, but to allow himself to succumb to malevolence—even if it was to save the world—and become a dragon as well ?? forever nearby, yet forever a threat ?? hinging on madness ?? able to lose himself at any possible second ?? it would be enough to have him boiling with rage, audacious enough to just put himself down. like he’d had zaveid promise to do. edna, though, she’d suffered through it all. she’d allowed herself to deal with what eizen would assume to be unmeasurable pain because of him. it was not right. he’d failed her as a brother.

          ❛ edna… ❜ he whispers, stony features cracking with guilt. eizen couldn’t say that he wasn’t happy to see her—safe and all grown up ( more so than she, an early bloomer, had already been so many centuries ago ), but there was nothing he wished more than for it not to have been because of his own neglect and failure. ❛ I’m glad that I am as well. ❜

          his throat bobs as he extends a hand to affectionately place it atop her head, just as he used to. he hopes that she doesn’t catch onto his slight hesitance—he’s never too sure about how she’ll react anymore. she’s an enigma to him now. nevertheless, he forces his trademark smirk onto his lips.

          by the kraken queen, she must’ve thought him to be a ‘ big dummy ’.

          their group’s laughter dies down a little later into the afternoon, and edna catches him off guard. even after all their hard work, he’s glad to see everyone in such good spirits. hearing her say something so oddly flattering takes a second to process. for all of sixty seconds, he stares dumbly at her–blinking like a deer in headlights–before realizing what she’s implying.   

          it’s… nice, to say the least. “or… maybe you just put down your umbrella?” he’s only teasing; that much is obvious in the grin on his face. “kidding. thanks, edna. i guess we all needed some sun–that's thanks to everyone, not just me. yourself included!”

Don't mind his younger sister giving Eizen a box with chocolates as well as a handwritten letter to go along with it. "The humans have some interesting customs. Happy Valentine's Day, Eizen."

“They can be... enjoyable at times.” Whether or not Eizen truly agreed had been left to the imagination for the most part, eyes softening to his sister and patted her on the head before accepting the gift of chocolates and the letter. Scanning it quietly taking each and every word written on the letter prompted a smile on his face.

His eyes gleamed. “I think we had the same idea, Edna.” Handing her the box of chocolate as well as his own letter engraved with her name on the sheet of pure white.

“Happy Valentine’s.”
