Three relationships: since it doesn’t specify which type of the relationships, I'm including family and platonic.  

- Merab and his mother Teona, in ATWD. I could honestly pick any damn relationship from that film, but there's so much hinted at between them and I wish I knew more - it's clearly very close and caring, but there's an element of her wanting to be on his side in that 'cool mom' way (excuse the phrasing it's not exactly what I mean), where they're both sharing a cheeky cigarette at the supper table while Teona's mother is out of the room, and the way Teona lets her mother infantalise her a lot too (wanting coffee and being told she's not allowed any that late), it makes some of their interactions feel almost more like siblings than something parental. But she does still want him to be her little boy, like when she goes to stroke his hair and he flinches away, so she has to find another way to connect and tries the shadow puppets instead. And then her tempers that are hinted at but never shown - Merab isn't the fragile little flower people seem to think (in the film and in some responses to the film), he's got a iron will beneath the softness people see, and I imagine Teona played no small part in forging that (and his dislike of the neighbour Aurora). - Francis and Richard Crawford in the Lymond Chronicles. Richard can be a bit block-headed, for sure, but he loves Francis, and as soon as he remembers that, as soon as he remembers to be curious about what could have happened to his little brother who he thought he knew so well, Game of Kings becomes better than ever. Though Richard does consistently misjudge Francis, I think Francis also misjudges Richard in some ways - or at least misjudges the depth of Richard's care for him. The meeting on the beach in The Ringed Castle hurts so much because all Richard knows is that this chance meeting is the best surprise he could have hoped for and that Francis is alive! While for Francis it confirms something he has not been able to face about his position in the family, or Richard's position, and the way Francis responds through TRC and Checkmate, like a panicked animal trying to get away from anyone who reaches out to him because he thinks he'll just cause them more hurt, comes from such a deep place of love itself. Idiot brothers. I love them both. - Oh man now I've set myself up to write loads for all three but I'm tired and have stuff to go and do...so, as Ed just reminded me we haven't finished it and should one day, Joan Watson and Sherlock Holmes in Elementary <3

Last song: Flowerz in my Brain by Kung Fu Junkie for...ficspiration reasons. And also because it's a gorgeous song.

Last movie: uhhhhh probably Welcome the the USA? It's really good, a Kazakh movie about a lesbian who's won a green card to go and work in the States and it's just an impressionistic look at her relationships as she figures out the process of leaving - and whether she really wants to. It's quietly funny. beautifully acted, and the relationships between all the characters feel really warm and lived-in. I promised Sally I'd watch Matthias et Maxime like...two weekends ago and still haven't. I will though! Honest. Eventually.

Currently watching: I'm so bad at TV these days. I get home from work at like 8pm, cook/eat/fuss dogs, let ferrets out for an hour, write, and maybe if I have the energy we watch an episode of DS9 or B99, but I can’t stay up too late because gym and dogs mean early mornings. The only thing I watch religiously is Gardener's World because yes I am just That. Cool. Ok and I can't resist a bit of the Olympics because while I have problems with the committee and the running of it and the fact that it's going ahead despite the wishes of people living in Japan...the athletes *are* already there now and I can still enjoy seeing someone celebrate when years of training pays off with an extraordinary feat.

Currently reading: ....does editing my own monstrously long fanfiction count? No? Uh. I started reading Beka Adamashvili's Bestseller in translation, and I'm still nominally partway through John Berger 'And Our Faces, My Heart, Brief as Photos', but I need another two week holiday in mountains and moors to finish it, and I'm also partway through the book about manuscripts I'm meant to be reviewing (review is now...two and a half years behind schedule?). I really want to start trying Davit Gabunia's novel in Georgian when the house move is done and I have some kind of daily routine again.
