Leaf, I love you! ;A; THANK YOU FOR ASKING ME ABOUT SERA AND MY QUIZZY!!

1. Why did your Inquisitor want to get to know Sera? What drew your Inquisitor to her?

Sera was unlike any person–elf, human, dwarf, or Qunari/Tal-Vashoth–that Telyn had ever met before (albeit, Telyn had very little contact with other races or even other elves outside her own clan; this is in part due to her being a mage–an apostate by the Chantry’s standards, meaning she would have to conceal the existence of her abilities lest she be forcibly removed from her clan and relocated to a Circle–and in part due to her own introverted and ill-tempered nature). Telyn found a kindred spirit in Sera; both held similar views on elven culture outside what was considered the norm due to traumatic events in their respective pasts, growing up with negative influences and poisonous, self-destructive thoughts. Both, then, developed a form of intense self-loathing and hatred for what and who they were (Sera, an elf; Telyn, both an elf and a mage), the toxicity of which they only began to heal from when they encountered someone else that could understand them–each other.

2. Did your Inquisitor marry Sera? What was your Inquisitor’s reaction to Sera’s proposal? 

Telyn was surprised, to say the least. She had never considered marriage before, not even when her and Sera’s relationship became serious. It wasn’t that Telyn didn’t love Sera or that she thought their relationship wouldn’t last; in fact, she thought and felt quite the opposite–Telyn’s love for Sera, her desire to be with her, was all that kept Telyn alive and pushing forward at points in her struggle against Corypheus, and then later against the threat that would reveal itself to be Solas. Telyn’s feelings for Sera weren’t based on titles, words, or frivolous things and they wouldn’t change because of them. Nonetheless, knowing the insecurities and uncertainties Sera had faced in her past, her treatment at the hands of Lady Emmald, Telyn decided that she would indeed marry Sera and erase any shrouds of fear the rogue may have in regards to the value and importance she played in Telyn’s life. Telyn wanted Sera to know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that she was the love of her life and that she was committed to the future that they would forge together.

Honestly, the bottom right picture really captures Telyn. If she were to have personalised tarot cards, the before she fell in love with Sera card would have her looking quite angry, and while she would still be angry in the after card, she wouldn't be as angry (and also she would have an arrow in her heart, symbolizing her love for Sera). Taking all these screencaps if Telyn is making me want to replay through Mara's story just to take more pics of her (and idk why I didn't do it the first time????). That and I've been working on her backstory.
