Matt's death will be ruled a suicide. Everyone asked the same questions, apologized for not doing more, asking ourselves what more we could have done. And we called him an asshole over and again. Then a few more times because he should have seen the full room of people, love and grief. Matt was very proactive in helping another Ranger at any time, his home, share his last meal, shirt of his back kind of guy. He helped me in at least 3 other suicide interdictions and wanted to see Veterans get proper assistance, unlike his own experiences. That smile could light up a room or hide a lot. Brother, thanks for everything you did while you were here. I will miss our time together. I'm pissed at you for doing this to us. But I forgive you and hope you aren't hurting anymore. We were so close to getting you right.
